A big thank you to Tracey, Myles and team for a wonderful bottomless brunch. You made us all feel so welcome, relaxed and spoiled. Beautiful food, great value for money, and a fun, friendly atmosphere, what more could you ask for.

Just went in for a couple of pints. Young man behind the bar should be commended. Always checking that everyone ok, tables cleared and cleaned etc. Checked each wine glass before giving them to a customer. Very personable. A good example of how a young bar tender should be.

The best roast I have ever had the Yorkshire pudding melted in your mouth and the meat and everything else was amazing quality. Amazing highly recommend

Found this place after a night at the Brewhouse. We thought it was great, clean, tidy, friendly, just a really nice place to stop in and have a drink. I can't comment on the food as we only had drinks.

Great place, could not have food as private party was happening so space was limited but lovely venue, reasonable prices and will be back to try food another time! Everyone in there was friendly too.

Friendly staff in a stylish, home feel interior and a relaxing atmosphere. The photo attached was laid out for 15 people, which was delicious.

Exceptionally Small Portions. A sharing platter for £22 basically consisted of two mini pork pies and 4 slivers of unripe brie. Plus abit of bread, small portions of pickles and a few salad leaves.

Amazing place to eat and drink. Really friendly and helpful staff. The food is lovely and we didn’t have to wait long also the tall blonde man is insane at making cocktails you need to try one.

It's just a shame...... This is my fave pub but they've taken Guinness off tap. I don't even like Guinness, I am a big fan of the espresso martinis but.....my boyfriend loves the Guinness...best in town and when they don't have it, it also impacts my enjoyment of this pub 😂😂

One of our favourite bars in Taunton. The team have done such a brilliant job of creating the perfect spot for a few drinks, a nibble and a natter with whoever you're with. The new sun terrace is a fantastic addition. Love it.

Fabulous pub hidden in a small backstreet. The food is small plates/charcuterie boards and is superb. Very reasonably priced too.

What a find. Hidden gem within spitting distance of the cricket ground. Great little rooftop space too

Very busy and buzzing with music and people, we chose the star as its dog Friendly with comfy sofas and great staff. We didn't eat however the tapas looked fab. Such a Friendly place with great vibes!

What a wonderful place The Star is. Very friendly staff who were attentive (shout out to Myles) We had some amazing food, the drinks and food were very reasonably priced. Will definitely be visiting again very soon.

Pop in for a drink and some lunch with partner and Labrador. The staff were extremely friendly and service was very quick. Added bonus that they are so welcoming for dogs and even provided a blanket for him to lay on. Would highly recommend!

What a complete disappointment, the worst Sticky Toffee Pudding ever! over microwaved, tasteless, no toffee sauce, and rubbery…. Don’t bother with a dessert! The £22 sharing plater was so over priced …. chilli garlic prawns had far too much garlic, it tasted like boot polish. However nice atmosphere just a shame about the awful food! ….. really don't bother, we won’t be again!

Much better now it's a bar could have more imaginative beer options but great vibe lovely staff.

This central Taunton pub in Middle Street where i had lunch with a colleague is a 'must visit'. Previous incarnations of the building include The Sanctuary and The Bank. Extensive renovations during 2023 have ensured a metamorphosis into a comfortable pub with great atmosphere. The friendly welcome by the barmaid and the landlord put us at ease and we had a wide choice of where to sit. It was lunchtime, so i managed to resist either the draft ales or the Inch's cider. I can recommend it as both a lunchtime or evening venue. It is good to see the emergence of a new Taunton pub.

Had a fabulous night at the Star Inn with friends. We had brilliant food and fabulous service from Myles. Nothing too much trouble and so helpful and friendly. Brilliant atmosphere where you can eat, drink and chat and still hear yourself think! Will certainly be back.

Lovely chilled Sunday afternoon, good wine ordered fries and olives and breads for snacks which were very good value for money!!! Very welcoming staff gave our dog his own blanket and spoilt him with some treats

Had a wonderful experience at the Star Inn in Taunton! 🌟 The Charcuterie and Cheese Board was a delightful assortment that catered to a variety of tastes, providing a satisfying spread. The Baked Camembert stole the show—an indulgent treat featuring rich and gooey cheese, expertly baked to creamy perfection. Served with crusty bread, it was a heavenly combination that left a lasting impression. Great atmosphere too!

Nobody else in! Food limited chef had no supplies. Do not go certainly at lunchtime!

A wonderful find! Booked the upstairs area for my daughter’s surprise 18th birthday gathering. Could not have asked for more. Staff were helpful all the way through from organising the evening to being so welcoming and hands on during the evening itself. Food was amazing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the venue. It has such a nice, relaxed ambience that we can’t wait to come back!

Located in a beautiful old building, tucked away from the main road but still in the centre of town, the Star Inn is a warm, cosy home from home with a great selection of drinks, menu of small plates and a fabulous team behind the bar. I’ve quickly become a regular visitor and love the relaxed, house party vibe. Owner Tracey is always buzzing around, warmly welcoming everyone and thanking them for their custom as they leave. There’s a wicked cocktail menu and it’s all too easy to sink into a sofa or pull up a bar stool and chat for a while, until you realise it’s closing time and wonder where that evening went… Myles and the bar team bring service with a smile, laugh or friendly banter, whether it’s a quiet January evening or a hectic pre-Christmas weekend, drinks are reasonably priced and there’s a small upstairs area to retreat to if it’s getting crowded in the main space - it’s a small pub, but that adds to the charm! I love it here and look forward to many more visits in the future.

My visits have been amazing and its so calming and relaxed with very friendly and welcoming staff, the manager and owner have introduced themselves and have also welcomed my pet pooch as well. It is nice wether a busy weekend or a quiet midweek stop off.

Visited here over Christmas and have to say it is a lovely pub just off the high street. Very welcoming, friendly and polite staff with a cosy atmosphere. Food was very tasty and cooked well. Tapas style perfect. Thank you for great evening.

Went out with my husband and my daughter and her partner. The place is so welcoming and friendly. Perfect place to go to have a drink and chat with partners and friends. Also the food is amazing and great for sharing. Service was very quick and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you all for a lovely evening and look forward to to coming back soon.

Could have been a really good night out with my friends but totally spoilt by an ajoining table being allowed to vape towards the end of the evening. A question to the management: why would on earth do you allow people to vape inside, and thereby spoil the occassion for others?

Just what Taunton needed to compliment the existing bar/ pub scene but to offer something unique. A friendly, relaxed and sociable bar. Effortlessly became my new local. Staff are so friendly and relaxed, you can easily stay all afternoon into the evening. Great place.

Went there last night to a group event I organised, the staff were brilliant, the food was lovely and the atmosphere was great. Lovely to have a venue like this locally, everyone that came along said how nice it was and have already asked if we can go again. 😊

Lovely atmosphere and nice to go into a warm pub too!! We didn’t eat but the cheese sharing board the table next to us had, looked amazing. Good range of drinks and well priced. We will definitely be back.

Top to toe this venue is just awesome, the service, drinks, food and ambience are all equally complimentary of the work that has gone in to make this venue leave a lasting positive impact; we could of easily spent all day and night in here and will 100% frequently visit in the future.

I didn't want to review this place as I wanted to keep it all to myself but the people of Taunton need a good pub to go to - so here goes. Set in a quiet street away from the busy town hides this little gem of a place. Understated outside, it is welcoming and furnished with tables and some big comfy sofas on the inside. We had a cheese board for two to share with a pint of Birra Moretti and a glass (the glass itself was quite sexy in fact) of Pinot. The food and drink were excellent and the prices are pretty good too. There is music which isn't intrusive and the temperature of the pub was just right for a wet miserable day. We could have happily spent the rest of the afternoon in there but time was against us. We shall return though without a shadow of a doubt because this is a special little place and it is clearly very well run.

Absolutely amazing first time here. We were greeted by the most impeccably dressed gentleman who was more than happy to see to our needs. We enjoyed an evening of beautiful food and incredible service. We could only say as we had the table right by the bar it was VERY loud and I appreciate you can’t control people’s volumes it was not a vibe we needed for our 11 year old at 6pm. All in all I absolutely will be back and have recommended this to all!!! Thank you.

Pleasant place with good atmosphere and nice food but not what could remotely be called “Mezzes” as advertised. No Greek dishes at all just Chorizo/Spanish, Calamari/Italian, and Black Pudding/British … not a Kofta or Halloumi in sight! It’s decent value for money as three for...

Id heard about this newly renovated pub/wine bar near where i live. Beautifully re-furbished but still keeping the buildings' history., so full of atmosphere. went for the Half & half board of cheese & meats with a nice glass of Tempranillo. I really like this...

What a fantastic place. The atmosphere is perfect for meeting up and chatting to friends. The food menu was mezes, selections of meats and cheeses and loaded fries. The choice I had was delicious and there were loads of choices for drinks. The service was fantastic - very polite, friendly and funny. We will definitely be visiting again.

Visited our new favourite pub this evening and were pleasantly surprised to see their new food menu, myself and my partner shared a camembert and some halloumi fries, both were divine, I'd definitely recommend this venue, the staff are so welcoming including them general manager...
