Ate here last night. The food was terrible quality and portions small and not cheap for what you actually get. Sausage and mash was small poor quality sausages , with a bit of mash and peas in a small bowl. Tasted terrible. No wonder very few people were eating there and the majority only drinking. Won't make that mistake again !

What an utter disappointment. At the end of past year, this was a vibrant place with really tasty food. Tonight was my last night for sure. Yet again, they didnt have the food on the menu and then the chef decided not to do tapas. With little choice, I had the Grounded special pizza which was the most unappetising circle of raw garlic and bits thrwn on top, with little love. So awful, I've just come home and put my fingers down my throat because I felt ill. Its better in the pan which is where I think the chefs love of their job is too. Unfortunately, stay away from this place until they turn around their staff. Front of house staff, lovely, polite and smiling, probably because they're leaving a sinking ship too. Bring back the Grounded it used to be.

So disappointed… Had to pay £6 for the privilege of parking the car. Had booked a table, arrived slightly early and were told we could sit anywhere. Sat on a larger table as had our 2 large dogs with us and needed them to settle under the table. We were then asked to move as we were taking up too much room. No problem, but show us to a table rather than being told to sit wherever we wanted. We put the dogs in the car and went back and sat on a tiny table of two. My chair was tilted backwards in the gravel and it was so uncomfortable. On ordering 2 drinks, we were asked if that was it for the drinks order. My soft drink was served in the unopened can together with a glass. No ice or lemon. My food was very overpriced for 2 slices of bread, mozzarella, cheese sauce, couple of slices of salami and a small handful of rocket with a drizzle of Balsamic. The crusts of the bread were black and there was absolutely no taste of fennel as described on the menu. My husband enjoyed his crab linguine, saying it was a shame about everything else. Overall disappointing. Went onto the ice cream parlour just down the road. That was a much more enjoyable experience

Terrible customer service! Would not accommodate my friends son who couldn’t eat ice cream and wanted to change it to cream! Waffle machine wasn’t working and it had only just opened (12pm) Floors were filthy. And our children were upset we had to leave!

Love the breakfast. The staff are lovely and friendly. They always make effort to help those that need more assistance and get to know their regulars.

Although the breakfast was nice I did find it was lacking some essentials to make this a full English such as fried bread, black pudding, if I was being really picky the toast was barely toasted. All in all was it worth £11.45 in my opinion I thought it was overpriced for what it was.

This was our second visit, our first was 2 years ago when we found the hotel to be quite basic as far as the decor is concerned, but alot of improvements have been made since then. The dining room is beautiful, service at mealtimes is very good and the food is excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. You get what you pay for here with a smile, if you want The Ritz you wont get it on Groupon

We went as a party of 19 for Sunday Lunch. Staff in both the restaurant and the bar/lounge area were really welcoming, friendly and very accomodating. Food was 3 courses, choice of starters and deserts. Main course was a carvery - very good selection of beef, pork, turkey and even battered fish. The beef was particularly excellent. Very good value for money at £12.95 for 3 courses (half price for children and unders 5s eat free). It was all help yourself and there's no drinks table service - you have to go to the bar just through in the lounge but this isn't an issue. Plenty of water available too. Plates were cleared away quickly and efficiently. This lunch was a perfect Sunday carvery - relaxed and friendly. If you're looking for a fancy restaurant, this isn't for you, but it's great value in a hotel right near to the beach. We sat in the garden area with coffees after lunch and it was lovely.

In the area unfortunately for a funeral. Traveled down from North Wales. We could not fault the Riverside Inn. Our room was absolutely spot on. The whole place was spotless. Holly and the team were so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

I was insulted and humiliated by the woman behind the bar, Julie. This isn't the first time we've had to deal with her cocky condescending attitude... Then when challenged on her disgusting attitude, she played the victim, to which her son, Tom (shift manager) came running over from his friends that were all stood drinking beer at 12.30pm, and kicked us all out. My parents of 70 years old, myself, my wife and toddler. Absolute disgrace!! She has absolutely no people skills. Having her on front of house, is a joke. All this escalated from politely asking for a cloth to wipe down our table, because it was grubby and wet from previous customers. I'll never go in there again....

Whilst the plant side of the nurseries service is brilliant, sadly the same can't be said for the cafe. Visited a week or so ago and, having stood in the queue for over 10mins because there was only one person serving, finally reached the till at 11.31am by their clock. Asked for two bacon sandwiches. The girl at the till said something to a lady I assume was the manageress, who said something along the lines of 'just put it through as a BLT, but leave off the letter and tomato', then turning to me said 'unless you want the lettuce and tomato?' I replied that, no, I purely wanted a bacon sandwich. When I checked the bill, I had been charged the price of a BLT, not the £5.45 price of a bacon sandwich. When I questioned it, the manageress replied 'well it was after 11.30 and we've stopped doing breakfast so the only way we can ring it up is as a BLT, I'll take it off if you don't want it', to which I agreed. Had she bother to tell me first, then I wouldn't have ordered. However, I objected to be charged £2.50, just to accommodate their inflexible system, especially as the lettuce and tomato was to be left out and the reason the breakfast deadline had passed was because of their slow service! In addition, the prices appear to have gone up and the quantity of the coffee gone down. Also having to go all the way through the garden centre itself to get to the cafe is hardly friendly for those who have mobility issues.
