Very pricey, average, small coffee (£13 for 3 lattes) We only went here as the kiosk was closed. I wonder if they are cashing in on the location, tourists and lack of many alternatives.

Awful slow service, average boring food. Only good thing is the view. So disappointing with the current cost of living trying to treat my family and waste money on this

Came here 2 years ago and it was poor. Thought we would try it again just for coffee in the hope that it may have improved. We love the view and as we were staying in Sennen for a week we would want to get coffee and food out a few times. All the other reviews are right. Disinterested staff, slow service, coffee only warm and very expensive. Can’t understand why the owners don’t take note of the reviews and improve standards. Needless to say we didn’t return during our week but we did go back to the Dog and Rabbit in St Just on several occasions. Suggest the management visit this cafe and take on board their amazing hospitality.

Went in to order 2 coffees and was having difficulty reading the menu, tiny writing on a sheet of a4 paper... I had ordered two cappuccinos before I had focused properly and saw they were £4.50 each!! View great, prices extortionate... you cannot charge this price for a coffee.. not even if it was hand ground and dipped in gold.. which it wasn't, press of a button on a machine.. didn't even come with a small bikky!

Absolutely awful apart from the views. It took forever for 3 simple means to come despite it being mid afternoon. Then once they did a whole meal was missing and had to wait longer. The hot dog was gross and didn’t even come with the fried onions, not sure how a simple hot dog, chips and a bun comes to £11!

Our first visit to Sennen Cove, and some prior research drew us to the Surf Beach Bar. Was initially concerned by the price of the pizza (£20+), but it was very nice, along with the rest of the food we had. Lovely to sit on the covered balcony and watch the surfers. Food lovely, great service, would definitely go again.

Never even managed to order. Refused to take cash which as far as I was aware is still legal tender card only. Whilst I could have used Apple Pay it’s the principle. Went somewhere else to eat

The only good thing about this place is the view. The food is well below the standard of a bad school canteen. The food is thrown together with no attempt at all to make it look appealing. Hot dog & chips, chicken & bacon melt (no visible cheese) and two cans of coke came to £29. Menus scattered all over the bar, none on the tables. The place has an overall shabby feel to it. Sennen Cove is a beautiful place and this place could be great. There are a number of better eateries along the harbour.

Being an optimistic local I popped in for a quick drink whilst the kids were swimming. Previous experiences have been poor, disappointed to say they are being consistent - take away the stunning view and you are left with a group of entirely disinterested staff who clearly aren’t being managed properly; most of the tables outside were littered with glasses, crockery and cutlery. Inside it’s the usual purgatory of standing inline whilst 1 of the 3 members of staff tries to dispense drinks, the other 2 presumably there to provide moral support .. Didn’t bother with the food as I’m not an idiot (other than perhaps coming back and expecting things to be different). To top it off, the last song playing at the bar was called “F*ck Wit You” by Stack Bundles, probably not appropriate for a family venue What a waste of what should the jewel in the crown of West Cornwall hospitality

Shocked at how bad the place is. £21+ for a pizza, no table service, uninterested staff. Pizzas were cheap supermarket standard. 100% do not go there for food.

Staff just looked at you whist chatting as we’re waiting to be served, brought food out, we asked for mayo, they told us it’s inside so basically made us leave our food to go get it. I had rained a few hours ago yet all tables were not dried for people to sit. Very over priced for what you got. Nice views great location. Shame management and staff don’t seem to have a good service ethos.

We have been trying to have a late afternoon/ early evening drink for the past week eventually on Sunday afternoon they were open time 15.45 girls mopping the floor, asked for draught beer to be told we have cleaned the nozzles after my protestations nozzles replaced and drinks served reluctantly told they were closing at 4 pm my wife went to find toilettes told use disabled as we have cleaned the toilettes paying customers a re obviously a problem for this gorgeous bar overlooking a fabulous beach

The outside terrace is great, plenty of space and great views across the whole of the cove. We didn't eat but enjoyed a cold lager and cider whilst we relaxed watching the sea. Staff good, place good.

So we were having a pleasant walk in Sennen Cove on a Sunny Autumn day. Beach looked great a few surfers it be water. The bar over looks one of the best beaches in the U.K. and also one of the best sunsets. So why on earth do you close at 4.00 pm when there are plenty of people about and a fair few like us looking for a hot drink and a snack. We were met by a very sullen we’re closed when we arrived at 4.05. Won’t bother again the pub up the road will get our custom. A very unwelcoming experience.

It really is a great location with seating inside and outside. They had a one way system for covid 19 and all staff wearing face masks. Food was good: we both had fish and chips. There was a high chair available for our baby. It was very casual with great views -just what we wanted. The service was very hit and miss though: we were told by a member of staff they closed at 3pm so we rushed to make sure we could get out by that time but when we asked for the bill the waitress had forgotten and was serving customers drinks (at 3pm). Also my husband asked the waitress for a second beer and that didn’t arrive either. However, it didn’t put us off as we would love to return as the location was idyllic.

Poor service, staff were rude and unattentive. We, along with 6 other groups of people (not with us) waited in a long queue outside for over 20 minutes while staff continued to look at us and made no effort to get anyone a table. If it had not been the only place to get a drink after a walk from lands end then we would’ve turned around. When we caught a guys attention and asked how long it would be until we were seated he was rude and said yeah mate someone will get to you. Had they just informed us they’d be some time before getting to us, there wouldn’t have been an issue. The funniest thing was that there were about 15 free tables inside that nobody was sat on and they weren’t busy at all, most of the staff were all wandering around doing naff all!!

Firstly, what a great location. The views are stunning.However, the staff were very unfriendly. It was busy at the time and seats limited especially outside, but the welcome was curt and to the point. No seats outside, its inside or nothing.We chose to sit inside, we were going to order food, but food stopped at 3pm. 3 cokes and a wine were over £12, so we drank up and left.Save your money and go to the fish and chip shop and eat on the beach.

We went in here for a spot of lunch on our visit to Sennen Cove. I didn't think I'd like the place but I loved it. Staff were very welcoming. Me and my partner had cheesy chips which were lovely. There was a moment when my dad knocked over a bowl of water which was provided for a dog on the next table. The waitress who served us came over straight away to sort out our chaos. I'd recommend this place

We didn’t even get past the staff member who was allocating tables, we asked for a table outside, he said there were none available, we asked if we could reserve one, he said they couldn’t do that, his tone was totally unwelcoming & unhelpful. We walked a few yards & had drinks in The Old Success. Great move.

An absolute prime location overlooking beautiful Sennen Beach but this stop for lunch was disappointingly average.Staff were friendly & helpful but service was slow even for COVID times. Pizza is not freshly made, a very hard tasteless base with standard toppings so probably bought in & the cheesy chips lacked cheesiness as it was mozzarella & ideally should have been a nice tasting melted cheddar.Although the tables are well spaced other COVID secure measures are lacking with the entrance & exit being the same which meant you had to pass several other people with less than a metre distance.General cleanliness is not the best, the whole place looks a little unkempt & unloved.Won’t be rushing back.

Visited the Surf Beach Bar for dinner the other evening. It gets busy from about 1730, so we ended up having to sit inside, which was ok, but I think it could be made much more attractive with a bit of a face lift (too much like a cheap cafe inside). Visiting with my family (2 adults 2 children) during the holidays it was lovely to get to places of the coastline that I haven’t visited since my childhood. If only the same could be said to our brief visit of this Beach Bar.Now I understand that visiting in the holidays is always going to be a lot busier and stressful for all involved but upon arriving and the initial “Good Mornink” that was about as far as the pleasantries went.The staff did not seem to care once we had been seated. We ordered Pizzas which are always a safe bet wherever you go but Unfortunately took over 40 minutes after ordering to arrive (with zero apologies for the wait).I had to take my son to the toilet during the meal where I found someone had pooed down the side of the toilet. I informed a member of staff as we left the toilet and they seemed genuinely appalled and insisted they would get it resolved. We finished our pizzas which were actually quite nice and settled the bill.Before leaving I went to use the facilities but unfortunately the mess that was reported earlier (about 20 mins prior) had not been cleaned up.I will be hesitant to visit again and hope this experience was a ‘one off’ For the venue as the location is amazing and all visitors deserve a better experience than the one that my family and I experienced.

We visited the bar on a sunny day. Obviously we wanted to sit outside. We queued as instructed and waited over 20 minutes for a member of staff to attend to us. Whilst we were waiting a table outside became vacant which we were thrilled about and asked if we could have that table. The waitress advised us that the table outside wasnt actually available but we could have a table inside in about 5 to 10 minutes. This inside table we were to wait even longer for was the table currently being used by the family who were, and I quote ' are just finishing their meal inside and then they are moving outside' . I said that that was unfair and again I quote ' well everybody wants to sit outside and they asked first'. We didnt stay. We left. I wouldn't have put anything on trip advisor but I have e mailed the management to express my dissatisfaction about being treated so unfairly but as yet I still have not had any response. They clearly don't really care about customer satisfaction ...they obviously just want your money.

It makes me so angry when a restaurant with such a phenomenal location feels that they don’t have to bother to offer decent food as they will always be busy with customers - regardless of the reviews and lack of repeat business. Firstly, I will say that the staff were fab. Couldn’t have been friendlier. However, that’s where our enjoyment ended, sadly. I paid £17 for the seafood linguine which consisted horribly overcooked pasta and clearly a frozen seafood medley. I’ve honestly had better pasta ready meals. The pizzas were also overcooked and tasted like they were made with frozen pizza bases - again, we’ve had better pizzas from the supermarket. The chips had clearly been reheated as they were limp and soggy. We come to Sennen 3 times a year and haven’t eaten here for a while as our experience last time wasn’t great. This time it was worse. It makes me so sad that such an opportunity to offer quality food in a beautiful spot has been wasted through sheer arrogance and laziness. Shame on you Beach Bar.

Such a waste of a great location. I cannot believe it's still as bad as it is. Greeted and seated quickly then forgotten about after that. Had to ask for service. Beers fine, food? Absolute grime. I'm happy with a cheap eat for the sea views but this was just gross and you'd have thought you can't go far wrong with a pizza and burger? I mentioned I wasn't happy and some boy came out to the table with a "I heard you had a problem?" And a "well you're the only one that's complained about it today but let me take that away." All this as I listen to a lady a couple of tables away insist she won't be paying for her cold, inedible food. Believe me when I say, do not waste your time. Grab something from the take out below and sit on the beautiful beach which is cleaner than their dirt trap tables.

Beautiful location.. that's the only good thing I can say..We have visited here before and it was good, this time was a complete disaster!We arrived and had to wait for a table, understandable in the current situation. after 40 minutes or so a table became free, as we headed towards it with an assistant, another couple from inside the restaurant moved into our table! we told the assistant we wanted this table but he said it was already taken, we explained the couple just moved from one place to another but he was insistent that no one was allowed to move tables. We asked for a table outside instead as it was a beautiful day but again he said we had to sit inside as it was the next available table. meanwhile the other couple just laughed at us. We made it clear we came for food however no one came to take an order for our duration so we decided to have a quick drink and leave.. from the moment we arrived to getting back to our car it was two hours! very poor customer service, zero management or leadership anywhere! Lived in Cornwall all my life and this was the worst customer service I have ever experienced... Wont be coming back, such a shame!

We came here again after trying their fantastic roasts we came down and had a meal in the restaurant. For the location I would say prices are below what I would expect to pay I went for the seafood linguine and my wife had a crab linguine they were both the same price so we thought we would try them both. They were the best meal we have had put in a while, the seafood linguine container bigger portions of scallops and king prawns than I have had anywhere and the crab linguine cake out with a mound of fresh crab on top and for only £17 you can’t beat that value I paid £25 2 weeks ago and was nowhere near the quality of this. Desserts defeated us I had the profiteroles and my wife had the banana waffles both came out after a bit of a delay (about 15 minutes )but well worth the wait and the waffles were warm so they were probably preparing them. Drinks prices on par with other locations gin and tonic a little pricey but the view is worth it. We will be back again in September when it is a little bit quieter to watch the sunset.

Had to wait over an hour for our food which came in dribs and drabs. Steaks were very chewy. Other meals were average. Restaurant has gone down hill since previous year.

Would not listen to people knocking the prices or food. With this location and view overlooking one of the country’s best beaches it very reasonable. If you want a cheep pint go somewhere else, if you want to relax take in the amazing view and enjoy your time over a few drinks and food then you will have a great time. Only reason not 5 stars is time it took mains to arrive. It’s also dog friendly which is great to see and our dogs water bowl arrived before our drinks.

Popped in for a quick drink. Staff young, chatty and really friendly. A couple of cheeky ciders plus bread and olives. Cider was good. Decent olives, oil with balsamic but the bread? One standard petite pain! I paid £6.50 for bread and olives. The day after I saw a pack of 4 x part baked petit pain for 85p in Londis at St Buryan.I maybe a tourist (although I'm from good W Cornwall stock!) but I expect more. Come on! Don't be like a lot of the others. Please don't let this be your normal bread offering.

Ordered a takeaway from the surf beach bar as this business has been providing the local school with meals. Thought it was only fair to support them, BBQ pizza was so good! Definitely will be ordering again! Everyone else's food was amazing but defo recommend the pizzas

Oh my God, best roast I’ve had in a long time. Even better than my home-made. Plenty of lovely meat, huge Yorkshire’s, swede and carrot mash, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese and broccoli, roast potatoes and parsnips and lashings of lovely gravy. Just what we needed after a walk on the coast path. Will definitely do this again. Thank you.

I literally live for these roast dinners . We have been having them when available during lockdown. They have been a life saver . The staff are amazing , so polite and helpful . My family , my partners family and in-laws all have them such fantastic value for money . There is plenty and such amazing trimmings ... the Yorkshire puddings are bigger than my head well not that big . I’ve been spoilt now , don’t want to cook a roast again when I can pick them up at the bottom of my road , take it home and put my elasticated bottoms on . Unfortunately I haven’t kept my maternity trousers which would’ve been amazing I forgot to take a photo as I couldn’t wait to eat it

We have been down for takeaway roasts the last few weeks, best roast we have had anywhere. Always great portion sizes, huge Yorkshire puddings and lots of flavoursome accompaniments. Value for money and quality are far better than anywhere around can’t wait for the restaurant to open fully so we can come and enjoy a meal by the sea.

We've had the roast dinner a few times now and it is definitely one of the best we've had. Plenty of food and flavour, keeping the whole family happy! They have also been very generous to provide the local school children & siblings free school lunches throughout lockdown which has been a massive help to a lot of parents. Staff always so friendly on the phone & in person. Would highly recommend & we look forward to things opening properly!!
