Railway Tavern Ltd in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

A bit rough around the edges in keeping with all pubs closest any train station I find. Decent drinks selection and good prices which is the only thing that counts when your only here because your train is delayed.

Always very quiet, beer good, friendly staff

It's a shame that this pub is closing to make way for apartments as it's actually not bad considering how close it is to the train station. It's nice and spacious with a good range of drinks. We came on a Saturday for the start of a pub crawl and the music was so loud and wouldn't have been out of place on Ibiza. We were disappointed that when we stopped here on the way back it was closing at just 8pm!

Grotty pub! Asked bar person for a glass of pinot grigio..she mumbled that she didnt have that and produced a bottle of rose and a bottle of chardonnay from under the counter! Neither were chilled! I declined and asked for a gin n tonic..this was served in a soda glass..lemonade totally flat!! I then asked for ice ..she disappeared out the back and after a good couple of minutes came back!!!.. Not even a smile from her!

The glasses had lipstick marks and bits of dirt inside the bar lady was coughing and then put fingers inside of glasses and was fairly unhappy to be there also there was no nice atmosphere empty place outdated dusty and expensive

Going in but the bartender was really having a go .push a woman over.The police was call lady had cuts from between push over He was a big man shouldn't be working There if hes pushing women around wont be going in there Only going in to wait for our train after work Normally pop in after work .And I hope the woman is ok Disgusting behaviour

Always the best place for a pint in Truro if you like pool and jukebox. That's it!

Really big bar out door area is alot bigger now to which is great. Prices a really good and staff do anything for you. If anything just needs a bit of tlc but all round great place always pop in when going to truro

After 5 hours journey, a welcome break for refreshment. Reminded me of a working men's club, but clean, efficient, cheap and friendly.

Right little sun trap on the terrace and interesting friendly people, I look forward to the pool tables and live sport and music

While I was waiting for the train, I noticed that the Railway Tavern did takeaway. I popped in as I was cold, wet and hungry. From the moment I stepped foot into the building I was made to feel welcome and alright, they didn't have much to offer this evening, they can certainly make a bacon sandwich and a cuppa! Thanks guys!

If you want a decent pint at a great price, then this is the place to come. No frills, just welcoming, friendly staff, a good selection of drinks, and ideally situated by Truro Station.

Probably not everyone's cup of tea but beats standing on a cold draughty platform waiting for a train.

It's a nice enough place, very cheap for a drink or two whilst you wait for your train, but the cracks do show. There's nothing wrong with this venue per sē, but it might benefit from having closer ties to the station itself. Pool, darts, big screen TV are all on offer, and the staff are welcoming and friendly, but make no mistake, this is a good old fashioned British Locals' pub.

The Railway Tavern was awful, tired and run down, toilets were terrible and The smell of cooking oil was rancid. So short an glasses to that my beer was served in a Pepsi glass. If I could I would give minus stars

It is what it is and trying to revamp. Good prices nice staff. Tom especially. More importantly independent which is rare. Great for when I go shopping before train home. With fancy decor, comes fancy prices. I hope it stays simple. Has some good things going on, not being a local, I dont feel welcome. But good otherwise.

With one real ale available Truro Railway Tavern is unlikely to become a favourite watering hole. That said the Sharps Doom Bar was an OK pint. Others have pointed out that the he Tavern needs a refurbishment. When it happens I hope they find space for more real ales.

Love this little place. I like to get a drink and watch the trains come in from London. They have pool, slot machines, and I've heard karaoke on occassion

Cheapest beer in England. 80s feel and look, so get ready to boogie on the sound of Starship and The Police. It's a local bar though, so might feel a bit strange as a tourist.

Local pub, not sure visitors are seen too often here, but people were friendly enough! Reminded me of my local football/services club type pubs.

Just popped in while waiting for our train on Monday. I am disabled so I paid for the drinks and bar staff brought our drinks over. Very polite helpful and had a chat with us. Very polite young man. I would go back again

There pool . Theres probbly darts . Theres the feeling your up noth durning the 80s with its decore . There couple couple fruties to play and a game where you buy cards and peel back . The beer choice is all right . They sell prawn cocktail crips . Staurdays there is a disco of sorts . Plenty of seats and a smoking area over looking the station

Nice enough and convenient stop next to the station that could easily be missed. Inside the place is comfortable enough, however their choice of beers is somewhat limited. If you like Carling there are several types on offer. It’s a pity they don’t have some local beers on tap. They do have two pool tables for the over 18s, however. Give this a miss if with the family and head into town instead.

Had 20 minutes to spare waiting to pick up my daughter. Beers not varied. Felt like I had misplaced my Harley Davidson. Whilst staff pleasant enough not one to take the family!

Cheerful and friendly bar staff, you can have a real laugh with. Many things going on. Pool tables, Dart boards, bingo. Other rooms for functions. Only problem the women's toilets is like a sauna. It's far too hot in there. But overall a nice place

Friendly bar staff and a warm welcome

It's friendly, cheap drinks and free parking. They have a pool 🎱 table, fruit machines and bingo on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and evenings. Wheelchair ♿ accessible & right next to the Truro train station 🚉, 2 minutes walk. Unfortunately no hot food but snacks are available.

Dated run down needs a revamp....but cheap drinks and friendly

This very useful pub was immediately adjacent to the Railway station. A full range of drinks was available AS WELL as a pool table offering games for a very acceptable 50p a game. I had a Worthingtons Creamflow and my wife had a gin and tonic. Modest range of crisps so I had a truly excellent packet of Pork Scratchings (.80p) from the Midlands (of course). Very tasty. The Bar staff were very friendly and helped us get a bus up to the Hospital where we were visiting a sick relative. The Bus stop is just opposite. On our return we popped in again and had the same friendly treatment. It does not look much from the outside it must be said, but clearly had clients - some 12 rocked up whilst we were there. Ideal to have a drink at a good price before boarding the very much more expensive train and its VERY high prices for liquid sustenance.
