Good WS experience. Food was like in all ws good. it was a bit dark thought only complaint if you can call it that.

While on holiday we had one breakfast. Unfortunately it was Luke warm,so not as enjoyable as hoped.

Often visit this pub for breakfast and drinks later in the afternoon, when we come to visit family. Its good for cheap drinks and food, although the breakfasts are vary rarely hot! Unfortunately this time we visited, the team leader behind the bar was miserable, no eye contact, no apology when mistakes were made. Seemed like he didn't want to be there and it was all too much effort. Hopefully it was a one off. We'll be back in, hopefully he'll be more cheerful, maybe cracked a smile!

Superb bar staff who are friendly and the service is excellent. The chef is great at expertly de-escalating and for a bar in Newquay I would recommend for all demographics of people. Its location offers sun up until about 7pm at this time of the year.

This Wetherspoons is very central in Newquay and can get very busy at certain times. Despite this you can usually get a table and the food and frink are standard Wetherspoons fayre.

Outrageous prices. 2x normal witherspoon cost. I just went out. I will not support ripping customers off...

Run of the mill 'spoons albeit on a smaller size. For that, read incredibly cheap drinks (first place I've had Stella in Newquay) and interesting carpet! TVs showing sport. Dogs not allowed.

Typical Wetherspoons had a lunch and breakfast there service very good and friendly- food acceptable with no issues.

Visited with friends. Food was delicious, portions were large. Quick service. A bit noisy but nice atmosphere. Fair prices.

Not a great performance, I'll be honest. I reckon they were at least a couple of people down. We ordered food and drinks via the app and the drinks didn't even turn up until we had finished the food. When the food arrived I asked the guy about the drinks and could tell he was stressed and run off his feet so I didn't press it. In terms of food, my burger was missing the sauce and the chips were a little less than cooked, so they were still a bit hard. My partner's food cam on a plate so I hot even I struggled to touch it and I've got asbestos fingers. Based on this visit I would hesitate to go again. I will say that the staff were definitely putting the effort in, just couldn't keep up with demand by the looks of things

Lovely time spent with friends, cheap alcohol, only disappointment was my dog 🐕 was not allowed in or even outside the pub

Called in for a Thursday morning breakfast. It was fairly busy but still enough tables. Ordered on the app. Drinks and food delivered quickly. Friendly service. Tables cleared quickly and refillable machines all working as they should.

Visited Newquay this weekend and we've stopped for a few drinks at Wetherspoons. We've got hungry and decided to order what I take usually, boneless basket, but I was unpleasantly surprised with re-fried chicken strips that was like stone and tastless and fries that were re-fried too as they were dark brown. We've been in Wetherspoons in different locations but never happened this. I don't recommend this place for food, maybe few drinks only.

Sorry but the gourmet steak was vile ! Asked for it medium to well but christ my dog wouldn’t even be able to get through that and my sisters was even worse ! Burnt to a crisp and the chips were half cooked.. also very small handful of chips , tomatoe was still hard urggh £18 waste of money , Then in the night had the worst stomach pain ever won’t be eating that again ..

Big weatherspoons in the main street in Newquay. A very nice breakfast cooked &served quite quick as it was busy for midweek. Looks like locals and workers use it.

Overall, it was not bad, I liked it, I recommend it!

Chilled environment, would recommend going for dinner (we didn't have food) and also drinks around 10pm to midnight as less busy but not on a Friday or Saturday when it's packed.

Busy busy town centre Wetherspoons. Really improved, the food is excellent, and the staff friendly and welcoming. Great place to be, mix and just enjoy. Amazingly well run, good Wetherspoons. A great place to be.... A great place to return.

We have visited quite a few pubs in the chain this one looked nice and clean but was very cold a lot of the customers was sat with there coats on and asked for the Aircon to be turned of and heating to be put on but this was not done so the pub emptied out very quickly another thing that was disappointing was the cost it was about £3 more on food and the drinks was more expensive why are the prices not the same ?

Cheap drinks, good deals and a really nice environment. Staff are very friendly and, although basic, the food is OK. It's Wetherspoons, so you know what you're getting and don't expect gourmet. Always friendly with a good vibe.

I had a nice fish and chips, its not the best in newquay especially for the money but its most definitely not the worst!!. It was crisp and reasonably sized for the money spent.

Food was very good as usual ordered food went to fill up coffee cup food was on the table when I got back great service nice staff.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. Food lovely. They even took something back and kept it warm for a member of our party who had to leave for a bit.

visited twice whilst on holiday on Newquay. managed to find tables both times (6 people, then 12 people). food and service on first visit was great, I had the beef madras. 2nd visit we weren't able to get pizza but no big deal. I tried the Korean chicken for the first time, staff recommended, and it was delicious. Dads steak and chips were a bit luke-warm. It was everything we expected from a Wetherspoons. staff were great on both occasions.

It was absolutely full of drunk people. Couldn't even tall on the phone was so noisy. Then outside some roughians, screaming at each other as I left. Never again.

A very busy and lively pub. The staff were helpful, the toilets were clean and well maintained. Nice cheap and cheerful pub just off the seafront and only a couple of minutes walk from the main town centre.

Had a buttmilk chicken burger meal and the chicken was warm on the outside and Luke warm in the middle. Also in the burger was a clump of middle lettuce that was already going bad by the time it landed on my table. Chips were soaked in oil and the whole meal was not very nice. Lesson learned I’m afraid don’t, eat in Weatherspoons……drink there and go elsewhere to eat!!!!!

It is a Weatherspoons an it is cheap and cheerful as they always are this one was clean with a good atmosphere and some lovely views across to the sea . The toilets were well kept clean and odour free . Staff were polite and friendly and service was pretty quick considering the place was packed all in all a very pleasant all round experience would highly recommend an would use again

Why do I never learn my lesson!? I keep returning to Wetherspoons pubs here and there, constantly giving them more and more chances in the vain hope that it will meet the standards of other pubs, but I never have any success. I'm going to start my review with at least some positivity - the time that it took for the food to come out was fair, considering how busy it was in there when we went for our family meal, during a trip to Cornwall. But as I should have expected, there were plenty of issues. When I went up to the bar to order, my mother (a vegan), who had come there with me to order her meal herself, tried to order a vegan pizza. But she was immediately told in reply that they were out of all pizzas. She proceeded to ask about 2 more different dishes, and each time she was told that they had run out of that dish. Eventually she had to settle for a vegan curry - pretty much the only option left for her at that point. I understand that they were busy, but could the person not have told us in advance about the vegan things that they were out of, as we stood there at the bar? (Of course, it was already obvious by that point that my mum was vegan, and most of the small selection of vegan dishes weren't available). This Wetherspoons was also very expensive compared to my local one. I ordered a vegetarian all-day brunch, and here it was £12.08, as opposed to £4.91 in my local Wetherspoons (both with soft drinks included). The low price usually justifies the lack of quality in a Wetherspoons, but here we didn't even have a low price to make up for it - £12 for one meal is almost veering on expensive for a quality establishment, let alone Wetherspoons. I find it confusing that the only difference between a small and a normal veggie brunch is 1 fried egg and 1 sausage, yet they differ a lot in price. It would be much better value for money to purchase 2 small brunches. But overlooking that, food-wise, my eggs were rock solid (as seems to be Wetherspoons' speciality), and one of the 3 sausages that were supposed to be on the brunch were missing. I would ignore this if it was the usual price of a Wetherspoons brunch, but when it costs what it did, I would expect to recieve on my plate what it says on the menu. I complained, and was told that they would get me an extra sausage. 20 minutes of waiting later, and they still hadn't managed to get 1 sausage to me. I had to ask again, and eventually it came. I left 'The Towan Blystra' full up, but rather disappointed and with a metaphorical bad taste in my mouth about Newquay; which would otherwise be a lovely seaside town were it not for the Wetherspoons which resides within!

Only went for quick coke and crisps. Bar staff rude when I said no thanks to Ice when I noticed my coke was being poured into a glass filled with ice. I should have said no ice when asking for my drink! Toilets smelt.

It's a wetherspoons similar levels to others

THE WORST SPOONS IN CORNWALL! Probably ever actually! Usually with a Wetherspoons you kinda know what you are getting, and we always end up in a spoons somewhere in the UK. but this place is like ehhhhh!!! Stinks of damp, pissy carpet and there’s a massive blue plastic sheet over what looks like half the bar!!!??? A quarter of the bar is operational, none of the beers or ciders in an entire menu are available! The food, well of my good! Was disgusting!! The steak my partner had was inedible!? Nobody even came to clear the tables of give the courtesy of asking if everything was ok? So we had to complain via email as the bar didn’t even have a staff member at it! And it’s 21:09?!! Meals that are £16 each are a waste of money!?? Avoid this place and visit a different town!! As Newquay Wetherspoon is an embarrassment to the chain!

A typical Spoons with a typical Spoons breakfast. Miles better than anything on offer locally and far cheaper !

Probably one of the slowest Spoons you would visit, however still has the price point we all look for. Cheap drink cheap food don't expect anything more.

Basically ignored by the staff when trying to order. Things were better the next day.

One of my fav pubs in Newquay love coming in here when we come down on holiday,sometimes struggle to get a seat if it's a Thursday because of curry night.

Absolutely awful food & double the price of other weatherspoons I ordered the classic cheeseburger very very small portion & the burger was so overdone was unable to eat My partner had the mixed grill all the meat was like burnt out leather absolutely disgusting kids meals small and overpriced Atmosphere was 0 had an industrial carpet cleaner on the whole time next to us, zero customer service took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive…. Don’t recommend anyone spending money here

Great atmosphere, great prices and good food.

It's a spoons and been in many of them and never had any problem. As a solo traveller, I don't like going up to the bar leaving my stuff, hence the reason I use the app. Very easy to use and drinks/food delivered to your table in minutes

This unkempt individual with beard was loud and obnoxious throughout. He made more noise form behind the bar, than the entire pub. Inattentive service, could not be bothered to even pour a pint properly, as it continued to rant throughout lunch. At least Billy Bunter was not in. A shame, this pub was always 4 to 5 stars.

It's a spoons in Newquay. I occasionally pop in even in the hight of tourist season but I'm usually happy with the lack of panic. The staff are doing a top job. 👍

Visited several times during our recent trip to Newquay and Cornwall, (Also visited St Ives, Falmouth, Perranporth & Penzance Wetherspoons so good for market surveying!). Firstly the service and friendliness of all staff was very good- drinks came very quickly and well inside their 10 minute waiting allowance. Drink choice- being a real ale person was very good. I did have a breakfast but the egg was well over done - so not repeated again and didn't have any meals there. Layout and ambience of the Towan Blystra is very nice- well recommended throughout.

Ordered a steak, rare, I was served a well done piece of boot leather. I don't normally complain, I'm not good with confrontation, but today I had my big girl pants on. They rectified it, in the end it was really good! Staff seemed nice and the place was bouncing with people

I was here with two close, very drunk (at least one of them) friends and maisy, was an absolute legend. She was amazingly friendly even though my friend (very drunk) was trying to buy everyone drinks. Couldn’t thank her enough honestly!!

I love Maisie! She made the night one to remember and even gave us a bin bag to be sick in (which didn’t stop my wasted friend cause she spewed on my bed anyway, that’s me losing my deposit on the house)… Honestly, what a legend! Her and her team made the night a dream! Thanks Maisie!! ❤️

Very bad food this time. Everything that was ordered was not even Luke warm . It was cold the chips and chicken strips . Drink came out with ice . Despite ticking NO ice. Sent the food back to get hot food and sent the glass back with the ice in it . 5 mins later we got another meal. This time hot. We have vowed never to have another meal in any weatherspoons again. Someone needs to go and check on their establishments. Unannounced . Not prewarned

Situated on the main street usual Wetherspoons, staff polite, friendly ordered breakfast came within a reasonable time looked appetising and tasted great good atmosphere but appeared to be more visitors than locals the toilets like most Wetherspoons up a flight of stairs didn't notice any disabled facilities or entrance to the pub, all on all a good visit

Good location. Staff pleasant . Drinks very cheap as you would expect . Food ok . Pub itself could do with a refurb. Upstairs the whole landing are and toilets smell really bad of urine which isn't great.

Great breakfast and can't really go wrong with a pint here,staff could do with a bit of training in pouring a pint of Guinness very bubblely on the Top of pint and should be smooth..I will check again and report back

It's a weatherspoons It was ok Not much to say except it was cheap and cheerful.

It was very busy here but when we arrived we were looking for a table for 5 of us we found full of glasses and plates I went to bar to order food and my wife asked 3 different members of staff if we could have the table cleared and cleaned the 1st said it wasn't there job to sort it I'm sure they could have notified someone instead of stood around doing nothing. It took about 20 minutes to have table cleared The food was ok it's a JDW so you know it's a fast turn Ive been to plenty all round the country you get a decent meal and a pint at a reasonable price

Good service and food went for a day trip. The weather was terrible such a nice place to chill out for the afternoon.

Came today very busy as you would expect. Can't fault the service and price of drinks. However food is more expensive than your normal spoons (depends what part of the country you are from) spoons is definitely loosing it's value on the food its just not worth the prices. Felt like tables was on top of each other. Would come back but only for a drinks.

Best spoons, the Korean chicken was new, not sticky and no sesame seeds at all so it was chicken nuggets with soy sauce and chilli's but it was edible and tasty.
