Well it hasn't changed in almost 30 years, not sure if that is good or bad 🤷🏼‍♂️ service was difficult even in October so expect summer to be difficult 🤙

Good place to eat in the sun . Don't set outside when it is raining. With all the money they make, they should replace the canopys Parki g to exsoensive.

Unfortunately very dingy. Wouldn't have liked to eat anything. But we wanted to watch football and that went brilliantly. Beer was also good. O.

Ordered chicken tika masala very disappointed nan bread was tiny size of a tea cake bowl of chips as a extra was tiny £31 FEEL LIKE WE BEEN DONE will not eat here again

I’ve had many unhappy experiences at this establishment, but the latest is by far the most infuriating. Good luck trying to contact sailors in regard to stolen and lost property, or any other unhappy experience, for they simply leave you on read on social media and hang up when you get past the god awful automatic line. Every time I attempt to make contact, I never receive a call back or response. The staff are hostile, unapproachable and unprofessional. The security if you could call them that bar you if you defend yourself against a genuine threat. It’s disgraceful. Myself, family and friends can say the same. Absolutely shocking.

I have popped in twice now for lunch and had the baked potato loaded with BBQ Chicken and cheese with a glass of orange and it is So delicious I am definitely going to make it the place to go every week to have my me time Thanks 😊

After having a lovely meal in Newquay and visiting a few bars, we visited Sailors and requested a few pop tunes from the DJ that was so far up his own arse he wouldn’t acoomidate any request including hen party’s and stag parties in the venue. Wake up Sailors, he may be great in peak season but this is the guy you need to make a few thousands in low season. From a proper club manager !

Great fun staff. Nice clean toilets. I hadn't been to Sailors for years but then a friend who I'd not seen for years, was coming for a visit. Living in a fishing town usually has two options for fun. The Sea and The Pub. (So, we went out of town. Night swimming is not really my thing) Sailors were hosting Bingo Lingo. If you've never heard of it snap, neither had I. I'm not a bingo player.(I Have only been twice in my life. ) This was fun. Chaotic good clean fun. I definitely recommend it when it next comes to town. The tunes were cheesy. The jokes and dancing were cheesy. It was perfect. If you like neon, dressing up and 90s/2000s music. if you want to make instant friends, if you love games and dancing on the benches from the start, you might just like this. Don't be put off by the scores of ladies in the queue. Plenty of guys go too. This is not just a review waxing lyrical about an event. This review is also for Sailors staff. Both the door staff and bar staff. They were all absolutely spot on. Even in the queue to get in the door staff were on hand for help and even had to sort out a little incident involving a young emotional lady with too much drink on board and they handled it in a very kind and tactful manner . She never got in that night and quite right the poor girl fell down straight after being told.

Overpriced drinks for an average pub. Just paid £7.10 for a pint of lager. The same lager I paid £5.50 for with a sea view. Not sure why this pub feels they can charge so much more when it is nothing more than a very average pub

Lovely place to have some food and lovely views out back. Served by sian who was so lovely and helpful. Place was nice and clean and lovely atmosphere in there.

This place was decent, we came here after walkabout didn't have food on and so glad we did, got a meal and a pint for roughly £16 each which was good, chicken burger was amazing!! What made this better was we sat out on the top balcony overlooking the beach and sea, very chilled and a lovely place!

What a lovely pub? I'm usually a bit dubious about going out to pubs for a meal, as Hygiene and food preparation is important to me. We came to this pub today and the staff were brilliant and friendly, especially Reilly. He made us smile and feel welcome. The pub is fairly clean, the toilets may need some air fresheners but the main place itself is kept clean and tidy. The food today was delicious. I just had a bowl of Chips and beans, then a chocolate brownie for dessert. (I'm still a little iffy about meat in public places) So what I had definitely filled a gap. Thank you Reilly and the team! If we ever come back for another holiday here, we'll definitely consider this again. Keep up the good work guys. 😀

The food I ordered here wasn’t good at all. I ordered a jacket potato advertised on the menu as ‘pulled bbq chicken with bacon bits, spring onion and cheese’ which sounded great. When it arrived it was about 4-5 small squares of chicken drencheddddd and I mean drenched in bbq sauce (so not bbq pulled chicken) and no bacon bits:/ I don’t mind bbq sauce but I felt like I’d eaten 5 tablespoons of it and it was the only thing I could taste as well as not matching the description of the menu unfortunately. My boyfriend looked like he had a good full English and the coffee, service and atmosphere was good just a shame about my food. I would’ve shown it to the staff but it got eaten by the seagulls :0

Waited over 40mins for 3 coffees. Customer service terrible. Gave up in the end and got a refund. Never again.

If I’m honest I wouldn’t even give them a star! Absolutely appalling attitude from both manager and security alike! Come down on holiday to the area and decided to check out the local life .. on the other hand I really just wish we had stayed in the caravan! The evening started off lovely and was really enjoying MYSELF! And I highlight this because I was doing just that, keeping myself to myself. After about 2 hours of being at the venue, there was an incident where I had slipped on something that someone else in the venue had been throwing all over the floor. ( because of this I have a very severely bruised hip) which I had tried to report to a manager.. I then got taken outside the venue where I then got interrogated by both security and the manager about the whole incident! I then got thrown out of the venue for speaking up! I do believe this was to protect ‘locals’ when I had done nothing wrong! Disgusting behaviour!

Lovely place for a drink, busy which meant long queues at bar and only 2 staff.

We came for a late tea having just arrived after a 6 hour journey. Unfortunately both Lasagne dishes that were ordered were not just undercooked but frozen in the middle. The peas on the gammon were stone cold and the curry’s were both cold. Management did acknowledge the error and refund the money including a complimentary round of drinks however with a tired and hungry family this was completely ridiculous to have such undercooked food on all dishes. Would not recommend based on our experiences.

Great venue, the pub and club were busy. Great for a night out with friends.

Abysmal service…. Close to two hours to get starters and mains for 2 adults and 2 children… manager was rude didn’t see a issue with it….

Wonderful view overlooking the sea

Visited on Friday for evening dinner, we received a warm welcome from the staff, the pub is nicely decorated and the views from the rear terrace is beautiful. we ordered food which arrived in good time. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed our meal. The steak came out slightly undercooked for our liking and we asked if it could be cooked a little longer. The staff were excellent with our request and sorted this out with a smile and followed up to check everything was ok. Because we received such good service we decided to stay for puddings. Which were also very nice and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend eating here.

The only place to go in newquay. Always a good atmosphere.

This was a nice place to get food, the food itself was made exactly as requested and tasted quite nice I personally had a chicken burger, chips and coke it was delicious. The staff themselves were polite and overall kind they are also quick in serving customers. Finally for the atmosphere it is an excellent place to relax as you eat your food with nice music playing in the background and multiple tv's to watch the latest game or whatever on in this case cricket, along with this the decor was quite fine providing a nice view. Reply: no problem I enjoyed eating at your restaurant ☺️ however I'm going back home soon so I unfortunately won't be able to enjoy your food again 😢.

Me and my friend ordered the same meal, I asked the bar tender if a drink was included, he said no and proceeded to charge me £15 only to then charge my friend £9.50 with a drink included for the same meal, not impressed.

I recently went for a hen night to do the bingo loco. It was a fantastic evening. There was a great atmosphere, pumping music and drinks were served quickly. Everyone had a brilliant night and the hen loved it

(Update, my mrs has been ill since with food poisoning from this place) Awful experience, after having great food all holiday in cornwall, we then made a massive mistake today in choosing here to eat. The place is visually nice and looks like a nice place for a few drinks. But the food we was served was the opposite and not what i expected. First we had to choose something else on the menu when ordering as we was told that the steak was still in freezer and was told they could defrost for me if i didnt mind a long wait! I went for a burger and chips instead and ordered food for my partner and children also. The food tasted and looked undercooked and had a microwaved look and taste to it. Chips still hard and almost still frozen! We walked out and left the deserts we paid for as we didnt want our children to suffer any more to be honest! Absoutely poor example for food establishment in such a beautiful place. What a waste of money and our poor luck choosing this place out of numerous great restraunts near by.

Unfortunately, as soon as we entered the 'Sailors Arms' we could have guessed that it wouldn't live up to our expectations. The floor was sticky with spilled beer and the tables weren't clean and everything seemed pretty dingy. There were two of us and we each ordered a traditional pub dish, 'sausage and mash', and it was pretty much the worst meal we were served in Cornwall. 4 measly sausages of the cheapest kind each, all very carelessly slapped onto the plate with mashed potatoes and peas. The 'onion gravy' gravy that came with it was definitely a finished product and not made in my own kitchen. The kitchen probably only consists of a microwave. And all of this at a completely exorbitant price. We were disappointed and can only advise against the 'Sailors Arms'. There are much better pubs in the area with good British home cooking.

Outside area with great views but scruffy. We left our food ( not good )after waiting 45mins for 2 x bagettes ( bone dry ), invest in a power washer for the floors.

Has an excellent balcony/outdoor area looking over the beach. Good Quality pub food and good value. ample seating around.

Absolutely filthy tables, untrained staff, senior staff just polishing cutlery. Not worth the £7.50 you pay for a pint. Disgusting.

I ordered food that was supposed to be chips and there were french fries, chicken burger was miles too big for the bun, but yet the food you got on the plate was very little, totally disgraceful with it all. Poor advertising, the doors were open front and back, if you don't want smoke to smell it's a no go, because smoke is in your face when you don't smoke or want to smell it. They should be reported.

Had a lovely few drinks while slightly listening to the quiz. Which was the best quiz I've ever seen BTW, highly recommend this place.

Out for drinks with friends, great vibes and fab drink deals. The manager Dan and wade were serving and were top notch cats pyjamas!

Food was absolutely spot on and nice view of the beach from the terrace.

Need somewhere to watch sport in Newquay? Look no further than Sailors. Sky Sports on what seems like an endless number of screens (plus they play the commentary over the speakers), including some screens in private booths and an outside screen too for when the weather allows.

The best club in Cornwall and better than pretty much every club in the rest of the country ( or world even)

A nice place for a quick bite to eat. We had a beef pie and vegetarian beef weelington.

A very nice pub with a great atmosphere. The bar team are always friendly and attentive. We spoke to Liz on the bar team and she was great! Would definitely recommend. Drink are very good price.

Ridiculous prices. Nearly £12 for a pint of Neck Oil and half a Hells. Queried the price with the barmaid who said it was correct. So nearly 8 quid a pint!

Wow! Been on holiday... yes to Newquay, and blown away with thus venue. It has everything! Drinks kept coming... food was lovely and service from Liz was great, she was constantly recommending places to go... which hit the spot of our needs. We shall return here on our next holiday for sure!

Visited for lunch with my family and I have to say, was one of the best experiences I’ve had. Food was exceptional, drinks were cold and refreshing and Liz was fantastic and couldn’t have looked after us any better!! A truly wonderful venue and staff.

Staff are friendly and helpful nothing is too much for them ,definitely worth a visit if you have kids just so they can see the beach without getting swept out to sea on bad weather days

My mix grill was awful steak should be medium but was rare, old sausage still frozen, pudding burn tasted like charcoal Chicken tikka masala with the snakes amount of chicken I ever see

A great night out for friends! We went for a birthday and had excellent service from Liz. Made it a night to remember. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun night out.
