We visited at the weekend and the food was great and came very prompt the pub was really clean. Amazing family service, spoke to the manager Sarah who creates a fantastic atmosphere and you feel like she really cares about the pub, local community and customers that attend.

This is Wetherspoons in a lovely huge building. The staff are really friendly. I only deducted a point because my eggs wern't properly cooked. 😁

Went in and asked for the disabled toilet key ( I walk with a crutch) got told to go upstairs I had to stand my ground and explain to them that due to an ongoing medical disability I find walking and going upstairs extremely difficult. I may be young but it still didn’t change how my mobility was. Then I went to order food and had cash on me like all the signs said to hear the staff slagging people off saying how thick and dumb they are because they hadn’t read the signs and got cash, Now everyone in the queue including myself had cash on them. Very rude and disrespectful people and will definitely not be going there again. These so called staff members need to be taught that every disability isn’t visible so not to judge a young person who was walking with a crutch. Now the food well what can I say I ordered smothered chicken and the bacon was barley cooked and the peas well I’m sure they skipped the water as they were hard and the chips where so dry I could barley swallow them staff weren’t bothered by this what a total shit show of a place that really needs to be sorted out

Terrible..two visits and with the same outcome... Missing items, wrong orders and sticky tables...

Today my husband and I popped into the Wetherspoon in Helston mid afternoon. We ordered cheesy chips and a beef burger & chips. When our food arrived, the waitress more or less ponked my husband's plate with food on, on the table, half of the chips ended up on the table. The burger and bun were very dry. "No apology from her", just walked away to get the dish of onion rings. How rude. Is this the way food staff behave. Oh dear! She needs some more training. Will not be returning to this place in Helston. Helston residents! Will tell family and friends not to go to this place.

Friendly staff but ordered lunch and drinks for my partner and I from the app - food turned up relatively quickly but was cold (ordered pizza and chicken strips) and drinks didn’t arrive at all so I had to go and get them myself

Just been there for the second time in 2 days. A huge store with very different corners and all kinds of different guests, who fill most of the seats even during the week. Great selection of beer, cider and food at very reasonable prices. Oh yes, and it's delicious too. And the staff is nice too. If I could dream up my ideal pub it would be a version of this.

Hi, I really liked this wetherspoon, a large airy building with a roof terrace. Usual beer's, Guinness was good. Staff seemed reasonably cheerful and helpful. I had the mixed grill. Prehaps I have lead a sheltered life, but it was the best wetherspoon food I have had. Usual long wetherspoon treck to the toilets, disabled toilet downstairs, there are a lot of steps/stairs in this converted building. I will visit again.

It's not a nice feel to this town. Felt uneasy in the spoons, which wasn't their fault. But the people who were in didn't come across as very friendly. Quite low, in fact. Language was awful. But it's a spoons with cheap ale. July 2024.

We don't mind it here as a family but it has got a lot more expensive and the food isn't great quality. The staff are always friendly and work hard because they are obviously trying to do so much with so little staff working, but the place is always dirty, never a clean table to sit at.

Quick service and a brilliant portion of fish n chips, so hot as well. Fantastic service from the staff. Really polite and considerate. Definitely recommend now.

Since it opened a few years ago, Spoons has provided a drinking, eating and socialising pub for Helston and the surrounding area. Good variety of affordable beers and value for money food just as we've come to expect from Spoons nationwide.

Further edit! Thought I would try again as friends were going and it was a lunchtime visit. Why did I bother! I don’t know who thought it was a good idea to have youngsters running the show. It’s worse than ever. The place was filthy and nobody was making any effort to clean it either. It was really bad, so much so I have reported to head office. Someone needs to come and take a look at what’s going on here. It’s really not a good example of a company with such good standing as Wetherspoon. The manager should be ashamed for allowing this level of filth. I definitely won’t be back again and await a response from head office. Edit… after visiting friends and being in last night I can safely say I will not be back! Drunk people getting served, a man with a badly bloodied head allowed to wander freely, customers just having zero respect. I don’t feel that I would be comfortable here at the weekend again, as the atmosphere is like something is about to happen and I don’t feel that safe? it’s a shame as I’ve recently moved to Cornwall and live closer! Very disappointed, we used to love coming here but it’s really gone downhill and is looking a bit tired. Staff don’t look happy and don’t seem to realise customers can hear their conversations about how they feel! Having said that, the service was fine, and the food was too, it just isn’t the same pub and the whole atmosphere feels depressing. Been a couple of times recently and had the same experience, such a shame.

I had lunch today, leaf quality in tuna jacket potato could be better.

Great place for a pint or a meal, Staff were friendly and helpful.

I selected only one item of food for myself, and I didn't realise until it turned up. The shift supervisor saw my disappointment when she brought it over. Hats off to her, she helped me out straight away, no issues no drama.

I am appalled. My daughter and her 5 friends went here to have their meal together. They ordered their food and drinks and spent a total of over 40 pounds and when their drinks came they were told that they had to have an adult sat with them to eat inside. They did not order any alcohol or things that they should not and they were not disclosed of this rule before ordering and sitting down. They were then told they could only eat their purchased food if they took it out as a takeaway. I think this rule is atrocious as for kids and teens there arent very many cheap food places open, especially on holidays, when all kids want is a bite to eat. Even when the girls got their takeaway the pizzas were barely cooked and the chips apparently made them feel sick. I think wetherspoons needs some overlooking as surely things cannot continue this way.

Local pub... somehow the living room in the village. That's exactly how it is there. The staff makes every effort to make the guest feel comfortable and the food is surprisingly good. Garden, patio, parking space behind the house. Live music and Sunday roast A piece of Britain

My first time at Wetherspoons during the Flora event, I ordered nachos from there, it was a complete disappointment. There was no effort put on the food like no meat or anything on it just a blob of cheese, salsa & Guacamole. I wouldn't feed this to my dog if I wanted to.

Ok, it isn't a high class restaurant, but if you're looking for a decent meal and a drink during the day, then Helston Weatherspoons fits the bill. I had traditional fish and chips and a pint of Doombar. Drinks arrived first, and shortly after, the meals arrived. Polite and courteous staff, good food and a cosy atmosphere make for an excellent experience.

Visited on Flora Day, so very busy. Good range of beer and food on offer, at reasonably priced. Big venue.

Standard spoons, clean, tidy, diligent staff with a nice outside space. Food was great and arrived in a timely fashion.

This is actually a good Wetherspoon. Well decorated and fetl much more classes than most I've been in.

Staff are polite and friendly. Partner & grandaughter had an all day breakfast . Food was a little cold. Table had not been cleaned . Consequently sticky and the menues were very sticky too. Glasses were dirty. Hence 3 stars only. Usually good. Such a shame.

Beautiful spoons with friendly staff and patrons

This was the last visit to this spoons never again. I was disgusted by the so called day shift manager 13 jan 24 , He was argumentative and indirectly called Me a liar and assumed a member of our party was drunk when in fact she has LD and medical issues that prevents her from communicating fully and can not drink with medication , time JDW hired adults with a little life experience not just wet 18 year old he/she thay them's or at least train (insert pronouns) to manage properly before letting them loose on the public ,, like I said at the start NEVER AGAIN. It's a spoons, you know what you're getting. Beers OK and dirt cheap. Food, well, you get what you pay for, don't be expecting a gourmet experience. Service can be a bit unpredictable, some are pleased to see, some are clock watching.

We and our grandchildren enjoyed meal out.

I go here quite regularly. Friendly staff and quick service.

Although we didn't eat here definitely will in the future. Lovely friendly staff. Shift manager was very friendly and explained about accommodation and taxis in Helston. Great pub will be back soon. 😁 👍

Good location, cheap drinks and food. Unfortunately the breakfast was undercooked and nearly cold.

It's just the same as every other wetherspoons. Food OK and reasonably priced with a friendly atmosphere.

Disinterested and gossiping staff, chatting rather than serving.Inside it’s stunning and really attractive, but highly let down by dirty uncleared tables, slow service and no cheery faces! It’s almost Christmas! Poor experience, only went as friends suggested it as it’s their local. We had a drink and decided not to eat here as we were put off by the slow service and lack of atmosphere. We went to the new tapas place up the road which was welcoming, friendly and clean and the food was delicious and fresh. I know where I will go in future!

Quietest spoons I’ve ever been too - priciest too, in sure some of the burgers are two quid more than Devon. There was one chap who was very professional and quick and diligent. Food was bland. More than usual lol. Quirky little pub though. The coin tables are cool, watch you don’t break your ankle outside in the gutter after a few pints mind.

Cool place loads of cool decorations very clean place is huge, inside and out side seating the roof top is well cool staff were friendly and helpful food was lovley well cooked games cupboard to boot would go again when in the area and would recommend giving it a go if your there good place to go if your on your own or have the family

Absolute shambles of service.the manager chucked an 18 month old baby out because there was 3 pieces of apple on the floor he had.we offered to pick the pieces up but he said it was unacceptable and asked us to leave l.then later said it was the 3 adults chucking food around.absolute disgrace.been here for many years and to have that said was shocking.the manager wouldn't give his name either so can't even name and Shame him

Popped in for some food, plenty of choice. You get a drink and food together. Very reasonable price, you can always get the same in most Witherspoon pubs.

The food and service was very good but the area we were seated at obviously had not been cleaned after lunchtime. The table had been wiped but the floor was dirty and there was even a chip wedged in one of the chairs. Come on Wether spoons, you can do better than this.

It's a Witherspoon's - you get pretty much what you pay for. Quick service, mediocre to poor food, cheap beer.

Very good 'Spoons' that is surprisingly bigger than you expect when you see the front ! Plenty of areas to sit including a fairly big area at the bottom of the stairs, a small outdoor ground garden & a rooftop terrace too ! Friendly bar staff, the lady with the blonde hair was very polite. Beers were OK, usual Wetherspoons food standard, my burger wasn't bad but it wasn't fantastic either ! Overall though one of the better Wetherspoons I've visited.

Ordered x2 Chicken breast nugget meals and x2 Pepsi’s. We did receive our food pretty quickly but there was no sign of our drinks. Had to go to the bar to ask what was going on with our drinks and they did sort it out for us, however, there was no apology for the confusion

We went in there today dirty tables old chip on the floor . No body came to welcome us So went out after waiting 20minutes Lovely welcome from somewhere else .

All good except we had trouble finding a clean table, although there were lots of empty tables and plenty of staff seemingly doing nothing.

Went here today for lunch with freinds orderd food thru the app dinks took just over 20 mins to come out and then waited a further 25 minutes for our food. Finally got our food and i think they must of thought we were all children with the portion sizes on the plate. Food was cold and daughters pasta was quite hard. Chips were cold amd so was my sons pizza i shall definatly gonna be going bk there anytime soon

This is a Wetherspoons, and as such, it is quite similar to each other outlet in this chain of businesses. The food is hot, and it is of the cook chill type of fayre, and okay for what it is. It won't get a Michelin star any time, but it is reasonably priced, won't give you food poisoning, and it definitely won't break your bank balance. Would I bring my wife here for a romantic meal? No, not if I was trying to make her feel special. Would I bring my family here? Yes, for quick cheap grub, which I did. Would I have liked the group of four or five younger guys sitting quite close to our table to experiment with not using the F word at least twice in every sentence of their loudly shared conversation about how badly behaved their girlfriends are. Yes, I would, because they should have more self-respect and a lot more respect for their girlfriends than to use such language and tones. By extension, my family would not have needed to listen to their anti-social commentary.

Not the greatest. Food arrived, chips were cold, the steak and kidney pudding had been microwaved so long the pastry was hard. The waitress was unengaging and was obviously bored with her job. Tables covered in mess. We didnt complain as it was our 11 year old grandchildrens choice as a birthday treat. Our first and only visit. We will not return.

If the food was hot that would have been a start. Enough said!

We like to come here for a coffee during the day and sometimes lunch and occasionally for an evening meal, the food is lovely and the service is very good, the staff are very friendly and helpful, we have always been able to find a table to sit and can stay as long as we want to, located in the middle of the town ideal for visit any time of the day, highly recommend.
