The King Doniert in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

We were visiting the town, we stopped in for breakfast unfortunately not a good experience. My eggs Benedict was lukewarm, the muffin was very underdone. It's states toasted on the menu but it was maybe in the toaster for 30 seconds. Eggs were not hot. My husbands breakfast was also not hot, and the toast was warm bread. We did speak to a staff member who was completely uninterested in anything, literally shrugged her shoulders. I visit our local Wetherspoons once a month on average and it's very much a higher standard of food and staff.

Buzzy atmosphere in the evening....Good service friendly staff...tasty food well priced.

Decent food. Drinks okay. Staff are moderately lazy and very abrupt and can be rude at times. I regulate this place as it’s the cheapest near me. Could do with some staff who are nicer and don’t look like they just finished a day at school..

Such a shame , been to this pub many many times, and yesterday decided to go again, Forget it on a Monday afternoon , 4 members of staff . 1 was shift leader . 2 of the young staff were sitting on a stool with their feet on another stool , saying how bored they were !! Well guess if you don’t like your job in the first place , We ordered 2 meals , it arrived and my wife’s was fish and jacket potato . But was floating in gravy !!! We sent back , and I had eaten all mine , but wife’s meal still hadn’t been returned , And didn’t arrive at all !! Dreadful to honest . I know this pub is a great pub , But now I know it’s down to who ever is in charge of the shift . And this shift wasn’t managed at all . Just never visit on a Monday afternoon. Tables were littered with dirty plates from previous customers , but the young staff were oblivious to it, kept saying out load how bored they were . Senior management should read this and get it sorted. The shift manager on this shift, shouldnt be one .

Less than a fiver for a glass of wine and a pint,good service tables cleaned and cleared promptly. Cheap tasty food. What more do you need. Korean chicken was excellent.

Another disappointing meal here. Waited longer than usual for food to arrive and when it did it was a disappointment. I had ordered a breakfast and the fried egg was solid, the sausage was rubbery and all the food was barely warm. Someone else ordered pancakes with bacon which was also cold and rubbery with half a slice of bacon! Coffees were ok.

I had a quick drink in this saxon Wetherspoon interesting piece of history on a stone that is 3 miles away from Liskeard Town centre etc thanks

Good food, good beer, friendly staff, can't say more than that!!

As a weatherspoons it's not a bad pub, it's clean and tidy staff are friendly and service was quick. Has expected pretty much the same menu and deals as others. However was a little disappointed with the food, wife ordered the mixed grill and was not great, meat pieces were small and not very appetizing. I myself order a chicken burger and the chicken was dry and hard the surface as if it had been overcooked, this made it difficult to actually eat it as a burger.

Excellent service.. Quality feel. Really great value for money. Still great value today!

Cheap booze, ok atmosphere nothin special but food is alwayz cold and frozen type stuff. They get .ad when you complain a out it too.

Quite scruffy late in the day.. Food good. Awful loud woman spoiling atmosphere for others. Have encountered her before Friday late afternoon, avoid if you like to eat in peace. She can be heard all over the pub.

Fast service, food was great. You can rarely go wrong with weatherspoons.

This is a deceptively large Wetherspoons in the heart of the beautiful town of Liskeard. If you walk down the main street of Liskeard in the evening and wonder where everyone is, they're in here. Large 2-storey venue with a 1-floor terrace that whilst typically a 'Spoons' was buzzing with lots of people dining. Different in that it was not full of mild and bitter clutching pensioners but the young people of Liskeard and surrounding towns (except us). The menu was of course Wetherspoons and the food was served promptly and to the reasonable standard and price one expects from a 'Spoons.' A little bit of a revelation considering the modest frontage the pub and a pub we will be visiting again.

Great value food and drinks however often spoilt by obnoxious behaviour from some of the customers. Almost every time I visit I am assaulted by obnoxious loud drunken cackling which is not only hideously discordant, it is also extremely loud. People seem to forget the pub is not their own personal lounge and that their loud, obnoxious behaviour ruins the experience for the other 50-100 people in the vicinity. Great pub, ruined by a minority of rude patrons.

Probably the best spot in whole liskeard if you wanna hangout with your friends and all.

I had a large mixed grill egg was over cooked all the steaks were chewy and dry, poor service. They definitely microwaved the food. Only good tasting thing was the peas. Never going here again and never recommending it to anyone. And the bar staff where miserable

15 of us turned up party if a wedding was ng party with bride and groom in tow for a quick stop, no booking. The staff swiftly found us tables and provided menues. Food was quickley served and very nice.... Staff were brilliant and attentive. Good price..

It was very busy, which is to be expected for a lunchtime in July, but we did manage to find a spare table, although it hadn't been wiped down as someone must have just left. My main reason for the 2 stars is the Tuesday steak meal, which I had chosen before in the St. Austell Wetherspoons & it was lovely. However, this one was probably the worst meal I had eaten in a long time. The chips & small onion rings looked & tasted like they had been cooked in oil that hadn't been changed for weeks. The steak wasn't the best, & also tasted of old burnt fat. That only left a mushroom & a tomato, & some peas to redeem it.

Good food, service was great, food came out in good time. The restaurant was big, full so was very loud.

Noisy children running round near the bar. Parents seemed to encourage their behaviour. Staff didn't intervene. We left with our drinks unfinished.

This is a Weatherspoons so you know what food your going to get. Free parking after 4 at the car park across the road, which is nice. Nice size place with TVs to watch sport. Fun fact: They have outdoor seating upstairs for when the sun's out. We love it here, good food and drink at a reasonable price. Staff are always nice also.

Absolutely rubbish. Very busy and the staff can't cope or the kitchen. As there is very few places to go in liskeard no one in retail jobs cares about giving good service or even being polite. Also tables are alway dirty.

Exactly what you want from Spoons, it has a small roof garden, it is a bit noisy up there with the ac fans but otherwise everything you would expect.

I wouldn't recommend the poppadoms with dips.They looked like they'd been murdered, and call me old.fashioed, but a bit of salad isn't a dip. Overall a very disappointing visit that won't be repeated in a hurry

Large cod and chips consisted of 90% batter and 10% fish, not many chips and a couple spoonfuls of peas. A waiter did offer me another piece of cod but we'd eaten half our meal by then so I declined.

Wetherspoons coffee is usually really good quality but on this occasion we tried mocha which had no taste at all and then we tried latte from a different machine and this was just as bad.... Very disappointed.

Fast and friendly service in a lovely surrounding

Popped in for light lunch and a drink. My partner went to the bar too place order but came back with just a drink, they had no pizza,s which i thought was poor for a food establishment. But the spoons looked well decorated and the w.c. looked fairly clean, probably would return. 😁

Nice pub, quite busy during weekdays and weekends. Welcoming and warm staff, toilets are cleaned well, clean cups and cutlery. Will be returning!

I don't go into any of these wetherspoons places on principle. That being the owner is a tory sympathiser and brexit supporter. Nuff said.

Waited 1 hour 45 minutes for ONE fried egg, finally got it after two separate complaints. Took it to leave and was chased out by an employee who yelled ‘OI’ across the street and than questioned why we left with the egg. Terrible service and response from employees

An extremely well designed new Wetherspoon that is nicely busy all day. The service is great. The food which is the usual great Wetherspoon value benefits by The King Doniert having great chefs. This is a great venue for family's and all the family. Highly recommended.

First time here. Very impressed and very busy for a Tuesday evening. Food didn't take long to serve, drinks were cheap. Very clean, well maintained toilets. Large balcony outdoor seating area for good weather days. Down side, smokers standing in the doorway, inconsiderate to people entering or leaving.

Yes I know Wetherspoons are cheap! But then that comes at a cost, it’s just not worth it! I would rather spend a little more money and get quality food and service, popped in for a breakfast, the extras tomato was a joke! See photo I got 1 small mushroom! On my plate see photo! The toast was soft and soggy, no butter with the toast! It was a bit poorly done with that sad and desperate feeling, the only half good thing was multiple coffee but not a classical taste, find somewhere else where your appreciated and not just a number!

We had a decent meal here today I had the Robert Burns week offer Haggis Neeps & Tatties and my wife Scampi and Chips plus a drink each.The meal came in good time and was all ok staff attentive a bargin at its cost.

Like a Wetherspoons only named after an ancient stone on the moors. Must confess that a pint of Ruddles at £1.77 is amazing these days. I feel like I've sold my soul to the devil. 🤠

Find place very dirty and tired no atmosphere, tables look dirty and sticky, used to be good when first opened, but has gone down hill

I love this spoons, the staff are so lovely, the food is great, you can tell they make effort in the kitchen and take pride in their food. We travel further to come to this one, it has a great atmosphere too.

Wetherspoons - no surprises. Quite a good one

It's a weather spoons you know what your getting food and drinks wise as they are all the same. Can't go wrong food, yes it could be better but for £10 you get a pizza and a pint you not getting that anywhere else.

Courtney is an absolute star, goes above and beyond to ensure that you are happy with everything and makes you feel so welcome. She compensates for any little issues you might have with her friendliness. Food was good, unfortunately no parking but plenty of parking and a car park nearby.

Friendly staff and atmosphere, best toilets in town.

I ordered a large breakfast was very quick to arrive. It was hot and tasty. The only thing I did find that the coffee machine was filled up with coffee(latte)of which I paid for so I had a hot chocolate instead. Happy days 😄

Pleasant Weatherspoons franchised Pub Restaurant. We just partook of the full breakfasts, an unlimited coffee and an orange juice each. The food was ok, the service was prompt and polite, prices are very reasonable at around just £21 for what we had. Toilets are upstairs, which is quite a trek for the infirm. Otherwise generally ok.

First time in here well what can I say I don’t know why I’m shocked at the food it is Wetherspoon after all but probably the worst one I’ve had, ordered 2 large breakfasts,broken over cooked eggs no yolk, both missing the mushrooms, ordered 2 extra beans and at 90p each got about a spoonful each, and stone cold

service was very speedy and food/drinks had many selections — served to table ultrafast. tried their light meal — tuna mayo and cheddar cheese panini with latte availed their promotion, unlimited refills for hot drinks 🤭 the latte was perfect! ☺️ note: place was crowded at half past 3 (on a weekend afternoon until evening)

The food is definitely cheap but the quality isn't good at all! One meal had undercooked chicken, another tasteless, rubbery chips. The only meals that came anywhere near ok were the pizzas.

Very busy, good food, be prepared to help yourself to sauces, etc. Table was dirty, as was the floor beneath but that was due to very busy staff and the previous customers trashing the table and leaving a huge mess.

The service was really slow , I asked for our table to be cleaned it wasn't there were dirty plates on the table next to us . My husband had a mixed grill it was all over cooked . I had a gammon steak well it was chewy and looked like a rasher of bacon it was awful .

Speedy food service and loads of places to sit

It's conveniently located at the town centre and it's beautifully decorated! Friendly and welcoming staff during our visit... some drinks on promo worth trying

Wait for cups was at least 25mins.....they apologised as we were missed. We were delivered our breakfast cold with no eggs. Asked for eggs but they had none. Asked why there was no sign up or anyone telling people they had no eggs before we ordered so we could pick something else. The manager did not have an answer. Staff were not clearing tables of glasses and plates and we saw members of the public doing it themselves. Was not even busy so no excuses.
