Visited some friends in Bath over the weekend and all I can say is this place needs improvement all round ! Food quality - average to poor Taste - poor Ingredients used - some were poor quality Bacon was that horrid processed stuff and sausages were terrible ! Tasted like the sausage had been reheated in a microwave. Full English was small for the price and homemade beans were tasteless cheap tinned variety. Coffee was good Table service poor - had to ask for cutlery and condiments and twice for the bill and eventually go over to the till whilst the server had a private conversation with his mate ! Wouldn’t go back ….

Lovely veggie burger and brill flat white to go with. Great views. Kitchen looked rather untidy and possibly could have done with a clean, and fittings and fixtures were also threadbare. Views great, though, and prices very reasonable.

We stopped in to DEFINITELY the one called The Pulteney Bridge Coffee (according to Google). Am I the only one possibly mistaken? As there are a few in a row. Lady serving on the street level counter was friendly , welcoming and really calm. As the seating is quite intimate and rather small, as well as enjoying the lovely view of the river, you can’t help to hear the wonderful 5* attitude when it came to customer service. I didn’t get her name to acknowledge here unfortunately. Didn’t ask or venture upstairs. Would have been useful in hindsight to ensure this review was received on the correct TA establishment. We stopped in for a couple of cuppas and cakes. The cakes at the window drew us in. Was a well needed 👣rest too. Everything great on a busy local 🧑🎓 day.

Today my sister and I walked into your packed out kitchen to eat. When asked if we were eating, we informed you that we were but, only wanted tea and cake. We were then informed very rudely, that we could not stay as this was only what we required “this is only for people that are eating” was your reply. Question 1 is cake not food? Question 2 who will keep your kitchen open and in business when all tourists have gone home for the winter? Sir, I remind you, please never, ever forget where your real business comes from and who are your true clientele.

Very very disappointed, As a couple regularly visiting Bath, we decided to get in early for the Christmas market, freezing cold we walked and sat down at a table, took our coats off and proceeded to order two coffees, only to be very rudely ordered to leave as they're only serving breakfast, no signage to say, plus very embarrassed to be escorted out. There was 5 empty tables around, soooooo rude, the owner was extremely lucky there were children sitting around, as it could've be a different reaction from myself, at 56 years old, I've never been escorted out of a cafe because all I wanted was a coffee, avoid at all costs.

My friend & l have been meeting in the Pulteney cafe for about a year, to ( have morning coffee + arriving back later for lunch ) we have always been greeted in a friendly & welcoming manner, by ‘ Meedo’ until yesterday, when l arrived before my friend, l asked for a coffee, but was told by a very aggressive & rude man, l couldn’t have coffee or tea unless l was having breakfast. His whole manner was disgusting!! My friend & l came back a short while later as she couldn’t believe it….As we told him in a polite way it’s ridiculous it’s on the window that they serve tea & coffee…..how he spoke to us was shocking, saying he was the manager he’ll do as he likes & told us to get out …Why is he even running a cafe’ if not to put money in the til, absolutely no manners, whatsoever, made us wonder if he dared speak to a man like that !! So was so pleased to read that many others experienced the same…..We went across the road to The Bridge Cafe what a difference, excellent restaurants & cafes in Bath to visit, as Bath residents ourselves, awful to think people visiting are treated by an arrogant person like him !!!!!!

Took our seats at an empty table downstairs, to immediately be asked "Are you eating?" (No "Hello" or "Welcome") and implying that if we were not ordering food then we couldn't sit at the table. After being given the menus, it took about 10 minutes for the server to return. Meanwhile, the atmosphere was extremely unpleasant and chaotic....continous noise from very loud clattering of crockery and the constant use of the coffee/espresso machine, plus lots of rushing around and staff talking loudly to eachother. When he did return, he made some sarcastic and strange reaction to my elderly mother ordering a cream team.....not sure why exactly - he said something about it being "Too early" but that he's "Not judging". All very bizarre. A cheap and nasty brown sauce brand was placed on the table, together with a Heinz ketchup bottle that looked about 10 years old, that had been refilled with cheap and nasty ketchup (definitely not Heinz). The cream tea was very poor. A tiny scone, which had been overwarmed (microwaved?) and took a while to cool down, was accompanied by a small dollop of cream and some of the cheapest nastiest jam I've ever seen. The poached eggs dish with mushrooms, tomatoes and toast was reasonable, but the poached eggs were slightly overcooked. I'd ordered extra bacon, which turned out to be turkey bacon (though this was not described at all on the menu, and nobody mentioned it). I also understand that the sausages are beef not pork, and again this is not mentioned anywhere. Coronation chicken sandwich was OK, but lacked a little salad garnish on the side which most other cafes typically provide. At no time were we asked whether the food was OK, and at no time - even when paying the bill - did anyone say "Thankyou". This establishment has a lot to learn in customer service. But my overall impression is that they're not aiming for repeat custom. They come across as nothing more than a tourist trap, maskerading behind the facade of a quaint and traditional tea shop/cafe in one of Bath's tourist hotspots. Honesty and transparency about the non-pork (and presumably Halal) ingredients would go a long way.....why not just list it on the menu? Otherwise it just comes across as dishonest and hiding something. The cheap condiments and jams also seems like unnecessary cost cutting......and don't pretend it's a premium brand if it's clearly not. Avoid. There are so many good options to eat in Bath and this is not one of them.

Went to this cafe today and ordered a coffee and hot chocolate. The server berated my friend for ordering a hot chocolate as the server didn’t consider it was cold enough outside to have a hot chocolate. We thought he was joking then realised he was serious. Our drinks were given to us and I politely asked if the milk was coming with my drink. The server became even more angry and lectured me on how he only had two hands and how could I expect him to carry the milk as well. I found his manner angry and aggressive. When I went up to the counter I said I would like to pay. The server then told me I should say “ I would like to pay the bill not I would like to pay”. I am well into my sixties and have never encountered such rude and aggressive behaviour from a server in a cafe before.my friend and I are both female and I noticed he was not rude to the male customer in front of me. However I noticed a tense atmosphere in the cafe. I highly recommend you look elsewhere for food and drinks.

We had an appalling breakfast. Toast was not toasted - it was warm white bread. (It wasn't 'extra thick' either) The sausage was clearly frozen and looked so nasty I didn't touch it... The bacon was not proper bacon, the beans were microwaved and the poached eggs were nice but done in a poacher... there is no 'chef' here that's for certain. There was literally nothing good about this breakfast. The whole cafe also needed a good clean... and finally, we were given no reciept and according to the menu prices we were overcharged by about £5! These people will scam you with a smile. I recommend AVOIDING!

My friends I came here for brunch, upon arrival we were told to sit wherever, no hello or smile nor even a menu. Having sat for 5 minutes to wait for a menu I had to go to the counter and ask for a menu. When the food arrived it was very disappointing, no presentation and ingredients were sub standard. I could have gotten better food going to the super market and pay half the price. We were fooled by the external decor and the menu. Avoid the full English if you can.. Bacon - fake bacon perhaps, definitely not Pork. Sausages - you would think they’d state if the sausages were not pork, but alas they were beef. Poached Eggs - they could do with poaching a recipe for how to poach eggs because they were most likely done in the microwave. Homemade Beans = decanted from the tin into a bowl! Voila! Homemade! Chefs kiss! Sautéed Tomatoes - two cherry tomatoes fried. In all fairness the nicest bit of the breakfast. Thick cut toast - two off cuts of wood. To provide some balance there are nice views and a decent cappuccino but maybe you should use the toilet beforehand so you don’t have to walk through the kitchen.

We ordered 2 full english breakfasts. When they came I took one look and immediately said to the server "That's not bacon"..He responded yes it is. I have been eating bacon for long enough to know when bacon is bacon and this definetly was not, looked more like slices of processed ham that had been heated up. The sausage - well, lets not go there, anaemic and revolting. When I went to pay, the server asked if it was alright ... I said no, that was not bacon, He then decided to tell me " we use turkey!" to which I pointed out bacon is made from pork and if they are using an alternative it needs to be clearly stated on the menu. I then told Him the sausage was disgusting and He then decided to reveal that was beef! Again, not specified on the menu...I basically ended up with beans and egg on toast which was the only part of the breakfast that was accurately described on the menu. Our breakfast was a dissapointing waste of £30. There are some amazing eateries in Bath and this is not one of them, avoid.

¡No volveré a visitar!

Popped in for a late lunch only to grab a snack and a smoothie. The smoothies were so good we had to come back the next day, also tried the panini too. If you are near Pulteney Bridge I would highly recommend.

Stopped for a lunchtime snack. We had a couple of paninis which were very nice. Service was slightly slow but the food was worth the wait. Friendly staff

Stopped for breakfast and loved it. Staff were friendly and attentive. If you can get seats at the rear you can eat and overlook the river. We had poached eggs on brown toast. I had extra bacon and my wife had mushrooms and spinach. Absolutely delicious and lovely ambiance. Would definitely recommend

Right on the bridge and I think one table for 2 (not us this time) gets to enjoy the view over the river. The rest is distinctly average. The food is OK, toasties etc, as was the coffee, nothing more than that and there are many nicer cafes around.

Popped in with the kids while on a day out in Bath. We all opted for a milkshake and a small cake slice, millionaire shortbread type-thing. Cafe itself is really small. A couple of tables overlooking the river but it was tight in there with tables, we had to move ours back. The milkshakes were good. The banana and strawberry ones had real fruit in. Went to the toilet upstairs and instantly felt dirty-they were gross! It looked like they’d not been cleaned for weeks, the floor was sticky, dirty toilet. And this upstairs space is shared with the kitchen which isn’t sectioned off for the customers. I dread to think how clean the kitchen really is. Good cake stop but let down by hygiene.

Staff serving were friendly and helpful, even whilst training someone new. Great service and a value cooked breakfast. We’ll be back again.

Lush plants, wide choice and the shop has something for everyone…. But! AVOID THE CAFÉ. Service is DIRE. 4 Staff about, unmanaged. 3 tables were occupied. 1 outside - the setting is lovely, 2 inside. We ordered 2 paninis - waited more than half an hour! The couple on the table next to us got restless…. They had ordered long before us, they remonstrated, got their food long after we had finished ours. UNbelievable!

In the area unfortunately for a funeral. Traveled down from North Wales. We could not fault the Riverside Inn. Our room was absolutely spot on. The whole place was spotless. Holly and the team were so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

This was the restaurant that introduced me to sushi. It was perfect. I miss it.
