Off the beauté track and quite a way from the town center. You can get there through Victoria Park. It's on the main road. Has a beer garden and plenty of room inside. Food is average, prices are on the high side for what you get. I cannot rave about the Sunday lunch. Mine was stone cold and the Yorkshire pudding burnt to a cinder. Atmosphere is okay. There are much much better places in Bath for the same price. Verdict: look closer towards the center of town.....

Today 18th August, I had a roast beef dinner, with a side of cauliflower cheese. Arrived looking very nice. After a while, I told staff that the roast potatoes had a wierd taste. They asked the kitchen what they do with the potatoes, they told me that it's winter spices that was on the potatoes. Now by this time my stomach was really churning. I said that I needed to know what this winter spice was. I had not eaten much of the dinner and only one out of the three potatoes. Eventually they came back and told me the potatoes were coated with salt, pepper and star anise. I said that I could not see any mention of this coating on the menu and for some people this can cause an illergic reaction. I showed a staff member what Google said about star anise, which was considered generally safe but for some people it can cause a reaction. I don't understand why they are using it in this way. I was offered a discount which I took, but disappointed that it was only 20%. I paid and left, got back to were I was staying and had to go to bed, as by then felt very ill. This place was not my first choice to eat because the reviews had people saying that the potatoes were tasting weird, but the closes to where I was staying. They need to stop putting this coating on, it was not a light dusting either.

Great service and very friendly staff, for dinner, and a nice pub, but food just uninspiring really, nothing that would make you rush back, did a job but average really, the calamari was dull, tacos just limp and stodgy, burger side salad just basically grated carrot, went to the old crown in Kelston for lunch on the same, and the food is miles apart, perhaps just was a bad day, as I said staff are very nice.

Booked in for a roast. Have been here in the past and had a really good meal, but unfortunately not today. The chicken roasts arrived , disappointing 😞 the bacon wrapped chicken should have been roasted much more it was only just cooked, same goes for the potatoes; could not really call them roast potatoes more like boiled, lacked colour and roasted taste. Yorkshire pudding although looked impressive was very dry. Unfortunately no one came to ask if the food was okay during the meal, as we would have asked for more gravy for the dry Yorkshire pudding. We booked for 4.45, so had missed the rush hour, so not at all busy, in fact we were the only table in our section until near the end of our meal so no excuse for lack of service or quality. Unlikely to return.

Finally visited here for lunch after wanting to try for ages! They do a main menu as well as a sandwich menu at lunch time. I had the brie & bacon with chilli jam sandwich served on sourdough with crispy fries. Such good quality sandwiches, priced at £12 which I thought was decent considering the portion size! Located opposite Victoria Park in Bath, it’s in a great location with plenty of seats in the beer garden! Would have given it a 5 but the service was a let down as found the waitress quite rude.

Have visited here several times since we moved to the area but today was shocking. Menu had changed and it was a messy atmosphere. A large glass of rose wine was served in a cotswold gin glass which I didn’t appreciate at all. A gin glass is for gin and wine glass is different. I asked rose pinto Grigio got given the white pinot Grigio. Food arrived after 35 minutes. Yes we had booked. Roast beef was so bad. Two of us had ordered this and it was three slices of beef so thin you could see through them. Raised this straight away and got given three more slices. It seems the beef is sliced for a steak sandwich not roast. Usually we have been served quality roast but not sure what happened there. Food was awful veg too. Never would return which is such shame as we live nearby and visit Victoria park often. Will not go for drinks too.

A fantastic find very close to Bath centre but far away enough... I love this place, it had the local feel with a welcome that was unassuming. The beer we had was Stone Daisy, very tasty and well worth the £4.95 let’s face it it’s in the city so not bad! Food was very good and the price was very reasonable, surprisingly (and I compare pubs) fish and chips £16 in comparison to 18 - 20 so see the comparison. I had the Tagliatelle (chicken) fantastic and exactly what you would expect, the wifee, pie and raved about the mash , turns out it’s all home made so very happy £34 ish for food which we looked at the desert but will have to return. The important bits are Staff really friendly and on the ball. Dog friendly, perfect! Pub was spotless and looked great. On the whole I would recommend a fantastic find. Revisit last night, we all enjoyed the food and drinks, desert was the best thank you!

This is a friendly pub with reliably good food and service. We used to eat here on Friday nights when we were staying locally while our house was being renovated and returned with visiting family for a Sunday lunch. I was never very fond of pub roasts because they were never as tasty as roasts I can make at home and often featured overcooked vegetables and dry greyish meat. However things have moved on and whilst one family member felt the need to ask for his beef to be medium rare, we all had beef that was lovely and pink and juicy. The portions of meat are generous, with two lovely Yorkshire puddings, al dente vegetables, and tasty gravy. We enjoyed the deserts. I’m aware that the Sunday roasts are popular with the local student population and the pub is always busy.

I don't usually leave bad reviews but unfortunately, I've been left with no other choice on this occasion. A friend of mine originally had issues with booking on the day we wanted as even though their advert stated we could book a Christmas meal any day of the week, we were advised the Christmas meal was not available on a Sunday. This was questioned by my friend who had enquired and was resolved relatively quick. This was booked well in advance, back in October and we were all looking forward to finally getting the gang together and looking forward to what was supposed to have been a nice Christmas meal. The day arrives - one of my friends was struggling to decide what to order to drink and instead of the waiter advising that he would come back when she was ready, he just got frustrated and walked off. If we wanted that kind of service we would have decided to go eat at Karens Diner instead! We then had to wait for the waitress to bring the drinks the rest of us had ordered so my friend could then order her drink. The starters were brought out which I am glad I went for as unfortunately, the main was below par to all of our expectations. Whilst the Beef I had was cooked to perfection, all the veg was still hard and raw - especially the sprouts which we could barely get a fork in some of them! One of the girls nearly shot a roast potato across the table trying to cut it as they were so hard. Some of us left most of the veg on our plates after eating a few bits and realising they were far from cooked. The only thing that made up for it was the Baileys cheesecake we had for dessert. When it came to paying, we all paid individually at the till and that took longer than necessary as the lady at the till couldn't tell us to begin with why we were being charged more than we were expecting. It was supposed to have been £35 each minus the £10 deposit we had already paid upon booking and plus any drinks we had. We all only had one soft drink each and we were being charged £32 - surely the soft drinks did not cost £7.00 each. We questioned why we were being charged more and the lady at the till seemed just as confused as we were. As we're not the type to cause a scene and we just wanted to get together and have a nice meal, we just paid what we owed. It wasn't until after a few of us had already paid that we were told there was a service charge added on top. If we had known this beforehand we would not have paid considering the service we had and the condition of the vegetables. To add insult to injury, fast forward a few hours and myself and a few other girls spent the majority of our night/early hours in the bathroom, not knowing which end to face towards the toilet! We suspected food poisoning, so when I had stopped hugging both the toilet and a bucket, I made an appointment with my GP and our suspicions were confirmed. It's been 4 days and I am still not feeling 100% and have only managed to eat one meal. The friend that arranged the booking contacted Victoria Pub & Kitchen to tell them this and they advised we could go back and have a discount as a gesture of good will. Go back?? No thank you!! My friend obviously refused the offer and whoever she spoke to said she would get the manager to call my friend back. He called back a few hours later and my friend explained the situation. He said that he couldn't get his head around the fact that we had food poisoning even though we had different meals...I'm sorry, but if you know nothing about cross contamination then should you really own an establishment that serves food? He then advised that he would have to call her back. Three days later and she still has not received a call. We were all served food that was clearly not fit for consumption and we paid £42.00 each for the privelidge as well as loss of earnings from taking time off work due to being ill. We definitely won't be going back!

Came for work Christmas dinner. They asked us to preorder which is completely fine-- but we were met with an hour and a half wait before we had any food when we arrived, left us wondering why we had to preorder. They asked us if we wanted to order any bread and olives while we waited but these never actually came. Food itself was below average. Very basic, chips were extremely oily and my tenderstem broccoli was massively overcooked so it was just mush. Portion size quite small. The food doesn't represent very good value for money. The restaurant itself wasn't actually very busy so we were never sure why it took so long to get served. Staff were pretty miserable, felt like we were bothering them even though we never complained about the wait and carried on ordering drinks. We cancelled one order of food from our pre order several days early because one person wasn't coming- some of this order still came and I felt like an inconvenience for cancelling this. Positives are that we had a private room- if you're looking to cater for a large group in an individual room they offer this. We had a table of 14 but believe this could go up to 22, maybe more. Wouldn't visit again in a hurry.

Lovely place chosen for atmosphere and proximity to park for the kids. However, Sunday roast was so disappointing. We had American visitors and I'm honestly embarrassed and wish I'd just cooked at home instead. The plates only looked half full, we all waited thinking there would be more potatoes and veg coming, be when I asked I was told that was it. There was one stick each of carrot and parsnip, both lovely and cooked well, but that was it for veg for an adults portion, a small spoon of mash sweet potato which was watery and pretty much what I weaned babies on, three small to medium sized pieces of roast potato that didn't seem fresh and weren't warm throughout, a yorkie and meat that was so tough we had to use steak knives. I've never had a roast with no greens on, this was a real shame. We were all still hungry when we got home and ended up filling up on crumpets. The kids eat most things, but not parsnip, so I asked for more carrots for them, they took so long to arrive that 3/4 kids had finished their (tiny) meal. For £17.50 this was appalling. We had ordered a side of cauliflower cheese and this was nice. Maybe the normal menu is better, but I'd avoid the roast dinners.

No premium alcohol If a pub can’t respect alcohol I’m not staying Off my wish list Food could have been amazing but if I can’t get quality drink I do wonder about the food

Experience of food and drink, poor quality. Customer service not good. Did not receive starter and added service charge. Had to take drinks back to bar. Waitress shouting down table, when meals arrived.

The food was DELICIOUS. The "Steak & Ale Proper Pie" was recommended so we tried that. We also ordered the Fish and Chips and Thai Noodles. The pie was the best with a homemade crust and delicious steak and sauce inside. The fish and chips...

An unexpected find in Bath. We had just finished the bus tour and had passed the Victoria Pub and Kitchen. Stopped by for lunch and had an excellent meal, including dessert and coffee. Sam was very welcoming - we will definitely return when we come...

Great service, food lovely, good price, good portion size. Even thought we mistakenly ordered a veggi burger the staff kindly sorted for us.

My partner and I absolutely love it here. We came here on a Sunday afternoon and as we were ordering we mentioned we had our dog outside and the chef brought out some beef trimmings for him. He loves the food just as much as we do. Such kind staff, really chill atmosphere, awesome vibes. Edit- we just got our food and it was absolutely delicious. Only thing I would comment on as a negative would be I wish there were 20 of those chorizo croquettes rather than the 3. Definitely the best thing on that menu!

Very disappointing experience last night . When we ordered dinner, we specifically said that one of the orders that was an entree , we wanted at the same time as the other meals . Well, nearly an hour later the entree ( nachos) arrived on its own , and about half later the other meals of burgers arrived !! And to top it off , the food was very oily and not very nice .

This pub was great the food was good and came out fast but sadly the nachos were soggy so it was annoying to grab the crisps

Really lovely Sunday lunch today and polite staff. Our Yorkshire puddings were overdone and they brought us out fresh ones within about 30 seconds - great service. Only thing I would say, is the plate really needs an extra veg or two. I don't know if one little piece of carrot can be justified when the meal is £17.50 and a carrot costs pennies. Another table appeared to have more veg on their plates for their roast dinners, and it was a shame to leave not feeling entirely full. Quality food though and will consider returning.

The staff could not have been more helpful and the food was so efficiently served and faultless. Good value and nicely presented. A pleasant outdoor seating area as well as a cosy restaurant inside. Well worth a visit!

Whilst enjoying a day trip to Bath, my friend and I popped in for lunch. A previous review described the service as uncomfortable and I would totally agree. The guy who served me couldn't have been more disinterested if he'd tried. No smile, welcome, nothing! We had a wrap each and a tea. I had to ask for a serviette, as I couldn't find any. They were seemingly behind the counter, so we had not been given any !! Basic stuff really. I took a tray in from outside to make space for us to sit, the guy dispensing the teas/coffees was delightful and took the tray straight away " let me take that from you " Whilst probably a flow of customers were there, it was not unduly busy. The bland/apathetic attitude really soured the experience. I suggest the front of house staff, on this occasion has some training or perhaps looks for another job where he does not have face-to-face face customer contact as he is doing the business no favours. I will never return there !

If you are looking to hold a function here I wouldn't bother! Trying to charge the family of a regular who probably spent thousands in this pub over the past few years - over £800 to hold his wake here! And they don't even close the pub off for private functions! 😂 oh and they tried stealing the car of the man who passed away by hiding it at the back of the pub!

The staff are progressively turning this once fine peaceful cafe into their own play area. Not somewhere any more for a quiet coffee , a read, and a respectful chat. Neros make a play on being a traditional coffee house. They were; this isn’t. Sad.
