Good food, but the man taking our money seemed a bit offish when we wanted to split the bill. Also, £15.75 for a salad, although delicious, was steep.

Great Sunday roast (triple roast an option with beef, pork, turkey (AND a very grown up pig in a blanket!)). Served quite quickly in spite of a busy day and with great attention throughout by George and his ‘drinks and service’ colleague. Accommodating to the needs of elderly parents who chose the smaller junior-targeted meals, and benefiting from an associated meal deal! As a Chef & Brewer, this is a Greene King pub. Deuchars IPA (a Caledonian beer now brewed by GK) made a refreshing new discovery. The location, menu and reliably excellent service make this the favourite location for our catchup gatherings to meet and eat when we can get from Sussex to ’Bath’ for the purpose.

Very chilled atmosphere. A lovely Welsh lad, Tristan, was our server and was so polite and attentive. The portion sizes are huge! I had 2 starters (chicken strips and garlic mushrooms with sourdough) instead of a main, and was blown away at the size of them. I came in late, after the kitchen had closed due to being let down by the The Mill. (Table not ready, no service, not being made aware of a hour to 90 min wait on food.) The George were absolutely fantastic, reopened their kitchen 15 - 20 mins after officially shutting, gave us our round of drinks for free as they heard we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The food was fantastic, staff friendly and accommodating. Would recommend to anyone and would come to them again in a heartbeat. Thanks so much from me. Rescued our evening. We visited this pub last Sunday for a rib roast, and it was absolutely incredible! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the tone for a perfect meal. The pub has a charming and cozy vibe, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing Sunday. The rib roast was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The accompanying sides were equally impressive, with fluffy Yorkshire puddings, perfectly roasted potatoes, and a rich, velvety gravy that tied everything together beautifully. You can tell a lot of care goes into their food, and it certainly shows. The service was top-notch as well. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcomed. Didn’t manage to eat or drink, as we wondered in mid afternoon on a weekday and only one person running the whole restaurant. He was fairly blunt and turned us away for food. So can’t comment on that. Highly recommend booking in advance. So we thought to order some hot drinks as was a cold day. I can’t do dairy, and so asked for an oat based coffee, but they didn’t have any plant based milk in stock. Nor any herbal teas. I get that they’re a pub-restaurant, but in the year 2024, that they have no plant milk is crazy to me. Not hard to stock a carton of it. Men’s toilets were out of order. We’re in our thirties and maybe the general clientele is a bit older, but I was hoping for bit more modern culture from this place. Hasn’t made me desperate to go back. I would say that a place that doesn’t stock oat milk isn’t very vegan or veggie friendly.

Absolutely shocking. Went for a roast with the family, turned up, 7 settings around a table for 4. Drinks were painfully slow to arrive and then all came out wrong. After waiting an hour and 10 minutes for the roast they all came out freezing cold. One was reheated in the microwave so the beef was like leather and the Yorkshire literally turned to powder when you touched it. Don't think I've ever had such a bad roast dinner. The poor waiter was working his first shift, he did an amazing job considering it was clear he'd had no training and was thrown in the deep end. After talking to some locals it would seem like this is a standard Sunday. Avoid like the plague, not worth the time or money.

A big thank you to Robert who accommodated our need for privacy on a special occasion. He and the staff were friendly and very helpful.

Food very good, service excellent (although they didn't have any bolt cutters when we'd locked ourselves out of our boat LOL), atmosphere good but not many people in on a wet Sunday night. I would go again.

A great nice cheap local pub with a great garden, food quality is decent but missing some items other wetherspoon pubs have. Service could be improved. Many nice members of staff but there’s one member in particular who just always seems so moody. Delivers a drink, walks away just seeming bored as ever. Rest of the staff are great and a lot more welcoming. Place seems a bit outdated. Normally there’s quite a bit on the menu that’s unavailable. Wouldn’t say it’s easily accessible, seen lots of people struggle with outdoor lift.

Fairly loyal to Caffe Nero out of the major chains, but there's something about the touristy nature of Bath that's resulted in them all being as bad as the worst inner London ones. Staff are overly-casual and loud in that vaping, generation Z, you're-oppressing-me-if-you-complain sort of way. Toilets are awful. Having said that, if you are a visitor to the UK, you can get a good fast coffee here without dealing with waitors and table services like you would in most of Europe.
