Disappointing, we came from Bristol to bath for a nice Sunday roast, expecting something great for the price. Over 100 pounds for 4 people, just on food and there were parts missing, roast potatoes were dry/over cooked and the beef was no where near medium rare. Servers never asked how the meal was and put a service charge on top. Only speaking the truth, and we won’t be back.

Georgia was wonderful, so friendly, even for us Yanks! This was a thoroughly enjoyable dinner!

Came in for breakfast this morning with a friend and my dog. Lovely breakfast and Eva,our server, couldn't have been better! Very attentive and offered the dog some water and treats. We will be back again!

Had a fantastic lunch. The food was really tasty and high quality - this is reflected in the price but worth it. Calamari was a particularly small portion otherwise great. Service was excellent, Georgia was super attentive but chilled. Thank you! I didn’t give a rating for atmosphere as it was a Monday and very quiet. The place is bright and tasteful though so would be fab when more people are around. Will come again for sure!

Velvety Guinness perfection aside from the price and the repetitive music.

Very good pub. The food was excellent. The cambert starter was something else. Cocktail menu was good and the drinks were well made. The bar person also made cocktails that weren't on the menu. So that's a bonus.

The service was good, and the atmosphere was good. I cannot fault either. However, £15 for a burnt chicken fillet burger and a smaller portion of chips than a McDonald's Happy Meal has left me feeling a little overcharged, and extremely disappointed following the hype my friends gave about the food.

We booked a last minute two night break in Bath and chose here because of the great service and friendly staff. Rooms are very comfortable and bathrooms have a luxurious touch especially if you stay in room 8 on the top floor ! Staff were so welcoming and the breakfast was good quality food. Would come back again !

My friends and I have booked to go here multiple times and been turned away each time due to the kitchen being closed. This is pretty unacceptable. Don't allow bookings if the kitchen is going to be closed? For this to happen multiple times is shocking and the staff reaction wasn't particularly friendly.

Up market Butcombe pub and rooms. We had a January deal, £89 for weekday room, including breakfast Room was spotless and nicely decorated. A drink from the bar was included on arrival, nice touch. Staff all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, high quality, local produce. We could choose anything from the menu, including a lovely smoothie.

We're visiting Bath with a tour group, staying across the road. Looked like an interesting place to have a meal. We weren't disappointed.

Desafortunadamente, la experiencia no estuvo a la altura de nuestras expectativas. La visita comenzó con una nota deslucida cuando una camarera tardó aproximadamente 10 minutos en traernos un menú después de que nos sentáramos. El paté se servía como una gran losa que recordaba a un pastel de caza, acompañada de minúsculas rebanadas de tostadas de masa madre, apenas suficientes para el tamaño de la porción. Desafortunadamente, el sabor dejó mucho que desear. En cuanto a las papas fritas de trufa, eran decepcionantemente escasas —apenas el equivalente a una papa— con un chorrito de salsa de trufa de ajo encima. Por lo que recibimos sentimos que el valor era abismal. La calidad de la comida y el tamaño de las porciones no justificaban el precio, dejándonos sintiendo cortos. El servicio informal y el ambiente general dieron la impresión de un lugar dirigido sin la supervisión adecuada o la atención a los detalles. Inicialmente, el extraño nombre nos había llamado la atención, pero tristemente, “fiddle” se siente apto, ya que nuestra experiencia nos dejó sintiendo que nos habían jugado. Si bien Bath está lleno de maravillosos restaurantes y pubs, este, por desgracia, no logró impresionar. Quizás pruebe The Ivy, The Botanist o Sally Lunns para un buen lugar para comer.

Shame to see multiple hand pumps for real ale but none on offer and from brewery owner Butcombe. Perhaps it had been a busy Christmas? Food was reasonable but pricey even for Bath considering what you receive.

Somos lugareños que visitan con bastante frecuencia este pub. Fuimos el viernes 27 / 12 para bebidas antes de la cena, pero desafortunadamente no había una cerveza de barril disponible! Sé que es Navidad, pero esto es propiedad de una cervecería Bristol (Butcombe) tan bastante local para entregas, etc . . problema es que no es la primera vez que esto ha sucedido la cerveza Butcombe bastante a menudo no está disponible la última vez para nosotros fue en un día de 'rugby' cuando se podía esperar que hubiera un montón! Aparte de eso, este es un buen pub con un ambiente acogedor y decoración.

Booked a table to eat here for 8, when we got there, there wasn't a table available. They tried to offer us a smaller table that we would not have fitted on. Disappointing, but the staff were very pleasant in there. Ended up having to find somewhere else to eat.

We booked to have a meal here for my birthday on the 21st December was booked at least 2-3 weeks in advance so I rung up before hand to double check my table for 7:30 was still available as we have travelled from Coventry for the weekend in Bath. A friendly gentleman answered and assured me that our table is ready for us at the requested time 15 minutes before we got a call from a bar maid explaining a chef hasn’t turned in we can only offer mains tonight and not starters and deserts…. To which I said it’s ok we can make it work as it’s close to Xmas everywhere is booked up. When I arrived nobody was there to greet you at the “restaurant” so we made our way to the bar and couldn’t catch anyone’s attention until a kitchen assistant came out and said “have you not been given a call, we haven’t got any food tonight so you’ll have to make alternative plans” You’d think you’d be offered a drink so we can take a minute to figure out where I’m going to eat tonight on my birthday, we couldn’t get nowhere near the bar as it was understaffed. Poor experience I understand chefs don’t turn in.. but don’t lie to me on the phone, waste of time, travel If you’re considering booking here for a special occasion I’d request you get it in writing!

Had a meal there yesterday and was really impressed with all of it. Staff in particular were great and we had a great meal. Highly recommend .

Mark gave us wonderful service after a celebration of ours! Really helpful and friendly for our dog! Could have been some more healthy options for food and the lighting was a bit bright for the evening for my taste.

Estábamos sentados bajo una ventana de luz del techo, que era un lugar bastante frío para estar. El servicio era razonablemente lento, pero quizás el pub estaba más ocupado en otras áreas. Went along for some drinks on a Friday evening to catch up with a friend. There was live music and a nice buzz in the pub which was great. We had some cocktails in the Pig and Fiddle and tried the baked pretzel with beer gruyere dip as a little snack, then moved over to the Broad Street Townhouse (same team) to try out their tea and coffee themed cocktails. Overall, no complaints. Lovely team, table service and a great atmosphere.

Un pequeño grupo de nosotros visitamos el Pig & Fiddle el 7 de diciembre para tomar unas copas sin reserva - para un sábado por la tarde estaba ocupado, pero un gerente muy servicial (gracias Ashlee) se las arregló para encontrar una mesa y hablarnos a través de la gran selección de bebidas festivas que se ofrecen (el vino caliente olía sensacional! ) todo el personal era atento y se registró en nosotros múltiples veces y realmente nos hizo sentir atendidos. ¡Volveremos lo antes posible para probar algo de comida ya que todo se veía y olía increíble por lo que vimos durante nuestra visita!

Un lugar tan cálido y acogedor para tomar una copa, llegamos después de un día ajetreado de compras en Bath, y nos sentimos tan bienvenidos y relajados. Brillante menú de bebidas, y el menú de comida parecía sabroso también, tendrá que venir a cenar pronto!

Estábamos alojados en el hotel adyacente, así que pensamos en pasar a probar los cócteles. Era un viernes por la noche y bastante ocupado pero lindo - fuerte olor a pescado aparte (debe haber estado en el menú esa noche). Ordenó cócteles en el bar a la misma hora en que llegó el cantante (debía tocar un set 7 - 9 ) - bendito sea, le preguntó a la señora del bar si obtenía una bebida gratis ya que él era el entretenimiento - ella no sabía! Lo sentía por él. Fuimos por la oferta de 241 cócteles, y nos dijeron que los llevarían a nuestra mesa. 10 minutos después, finalmente llegaron mis esposos Negronis, 20 minutos después estoy persiguiendo mis cócteles (dos veces) y finalmente llegaron. Cuando perseguí la primera vez, la señora del bar dijo que sentía que estuvieran ocupados, pero seguramente el barman debería haber hecho los cócteles después de pedir y pagar, así que no entiendo esa excusa. La música era buena, pero como estaba en la parte delantera del pub junto a la ventana, era difícil escucharlo por el ruido del pub. La calidad de las bebidas fue de primera categoría, sin embargo, solo tiene que trabajar en el servicio como otros también han comentado.

Had the burger which was really tasty, and service was so quick! There was live music which was nice. The lighting was too bright which so loses some atmosphere points, sorry! I noticed the drinks service was a it slow. But otherwise it was great.

Terrible terrible service..waitress took our drink order first. Waited 30 min and finally my husband got up and went to the bar and she realized she forgot to put it in. Brought my meal and wrong meal for my husband. Time I finish they brought his and never brought ketchup for the fries after asking twice. Management ready needs to do something about employees.

Lovely pub with an excellent draft selection. We popped in late afternoon, so it was quite quiet, but by 5pm it was filling up.

Booked a table for dinner. When we arrived we were seated on a high table with stools. Really uncomfortable for dining. Was told no other tables available but another couple left so we moved. Unfortunately the menu was not inspiring, the online sample menu was better. No specials available. Left the pub and went to another restaurant. Shame, pub looked nice. And they had a good singer.

Hands down one of the best Sunday Roast in Bath! Xx

Good pub, popped in for a couple of drinks during a short trip to Bath. Friendly service and good atmosphere.

A pub we returned to numerous times during our stay as the atmosphere and service was always top notch.

Went for a Sunday roast and it did not disappoint. Great atmosphere and excellent service from Abi throughout our meal. Was able to accommodate gf which was awesome! Will be back next time we are in bath.

Came all the way from the Us for the best fish and chips in England. Anna was an excellent server and host. 🙂

I’ve never written a review before, but here I am. We had a Sunday roast lunch booked for 3:30pm, we walked in and the place had a strange vibe to it as some tables were empty with plates etc still on, few tables busy but no one eating - and bar staff just polishing glasses. Lady behind the bar pointed to our table reluctantly after looking through the list of bookings, we then sat down. We stayed sat down for 15/20 minutes and no one had come over to clean it, give us a menu, or even ask us if we’d like a drink. At this point, I stood up and went to the bar, I explained the situation to the lady behind the bar who was what I’d describe as unhelpful and rude. She shrugged her shoulders, never apologised, suggested we move table and I wait for the manager. This lack of attentiveness and care really shone a bad light on this place for me as a new customer. We left the pub after no sign of a manager or further care, only to search the city looking for a roast somewhere else. I will never be returning.

I visited the Pig & Fiddle for the first time on 19.09.2024 and have to say the experience I got from being welcome by all the staff and the atmosphere was amazing, it felt very traditional and welcoming which is something that is hard to find these days. I had a couple of conversations with staff members who where just so pleasant and a joy to talk to. I will certainly be returning!!!

Der Pub hat uns sehr gefallen! Eine Mischung aus traditionellerem Pub und modern, Bohème Stylisher Einrichtung. Der Service war sehr nett, das Essen superlecker (süsskartoffel-Hummus und Chicken-Sandwich), bezahlbar war es auch. Sehr leckeres lokales Bier und chillige, zum Teil angejazzte Musik. Wir haben hier auch spontan übernachtet. Zimmer sehr schön eingerichtet, wenngleich auch etwas laut zur Straße. Insgesamt eine kreative, urbane Athmosphäre.

At least four of the items I requested from the .end we're not available. When I finally got the order made, the food took at least half an hour to appear, and the place was not busy. The bacon rolls were expensive for what we got ( a brioche bun and five streaky bacon rashers) and the toast for the scrambled egg with salmon was only toasted on one side and black round the edges. The staff were nice and helpful but the background organisation is sadly lacking.

Great roast, friendly atmosphere. Not too over priced. Did I say the roast was good? I would say get in there early doors though to take advantage of that good food.

Had a delicious lunch at the Pig and Fiddle in Bath. The food was lush and our waitress Mabel was so helpful and patient with our food allergy questions. She was so knowledgeable and efficient. We will be back!

Nice restaurant but the lack of professionalism of the waitresses spoils the experience. They go around in circles without doing much. While we were there, 3 couples left because no one had come to take their order. We ourselves waited 30 minutes before our order was taken while the restaurant seemed quite empty. The meal was ok but was not the best Sunday roast I have eaten. The sauces did not really have any taste. I would not return to this pub!

I came here today for a Sunday roast with my family after a recommendation from a different pub in Bath (who weren't available), and I was not disappointed. The food was delicious and every dish was high in taste and portion size! We ordered the Pork Belly roast, Beef roast, Sea Bass, Cauliflower cheese & Truffle chips and all were excellent. I'll definitely be coming back here again in the future if I am in Bath once more on a Sunday!

A brilliant pub with a welcoming atmosphere! Both the Manager Chris and bar staff were excellent throughout our evening and able to cater to us all as a large group. Would definitely recommend this pub for large gatherings and small groups. Looking forward to coming back in the future!

Our first visit to the Pig and Fiddle, in fact our last visit to Bath was over 30 years ago. We had a lovely welcome when a member of the staff brought out some fresh water for our dog without us requesting this. The food was very nice and priced competitively when compared to surrounding outlets. We would certainly recommend it.

Fantastic pub in the prefect location - when with a large group of lads and we were well looked after great friendly service / great beers and a fantastic outdoor space too - 👍👌

We are regular visitors to many of The Butcombe pubs and this was our first visit to The Pig and Fiddle. We visited on a very busy Saturday evening when the pub and the beer garden were full of customers. Luckily we had booked a table. Our food came to the table at a good pace given how busy the pub was. All the food we ordered was well cooked and tasted great. Chris, the manager, is a top bloke and looked after us really well. Highly recommend.

Been coming here for a few years and whilst it's still a good pub could do with maybe wiping some tables as ours was thick with sticky sugary film. Food was tasty but honestly for the price there wasn't enough a couple of rather firm roast postatoes one piece of pork belly and rubbery crackling. Sorry to say but think that might be the last visit.

Decent prices and really pretty pub, even had a singer outside. Would go again if visiting bath.

Wonderful food, drinks and friendly staff.

It is both a traditional pub and a restaurant. The corresponding facility can be described as quite suitable and therefore successful. The menu is probably a little more extensive than usual for a pub due to the tourist flow in Bath and also offers international dishes. The central location in historic Bath is a big advantage in addition to the outdoor seating, despite the rather unimpressive view. In the evening, the Pig and Fiddle is not necessarily an obvious choice as a restaurant given the various alternatives, but as a pub it would be worth a visit at any time.

Absolutely terrible experience. I am not a guy who likes to write any bad reviews since I own two successful businesses of my own and fully understand what effects bad reviews can have. The service was SLOW... I mean for goodness sakes, I could’ve grown the vegetables, butchered the meat, and cooked it myself by the time they had addresses the issue. Asked several times, once at the bar, when it had hit an hour since the order was placed. The lied to my face that the order was about to come up because it took yet another 25 minutes to get our food. Second drink order also took around 25 minutes. Again, I’m not a guy who actually writes these kind of reviews, but the lack of caring from the staff/management about this kind of service is disturbing. My hope is that they improve on the shortcomings because they do have a nice atmosphere in this establishment. However, this kind of service will quickly impact this kind of service business, especially in Bath, where bars and pubs are a dime a dozen. .

Fui con unos amigos a comer el Sunday roast, y en general salimos satisfechos. El plato estaba bueno y es muy contundente, aunque quizás esperaba más calidad a ese precio (unas 21 libras el plato). Pero echamos un buen rato en la terraza.

The Sunday roast beef and fish and chips were excellent. Food took longer than expected but worth the wait. Conveniently located across from our hotel, Doubletree Hilton.

We were the only ones in the restaurant and our food took 45 mins. Came out cold. Not how we wanted the last day of holiday.

Pint of Cruzcampo Lager £6.75!!! Outrageous. Food was warm not hot, and certainly not that pleasant. Never going back. Aful experience.
