Was told off like a naughty child for sitting in an area that had already been mopped. Is this how to treat paying customers who pay your salary?

We generally like the coffee at Costa this was no exception and the staff were very friendly even though they were very busy.

Inside is standard costa and the staff were nice. The drink sizes are way too big though, and different to in other Costas. I ordered a flat white but essentially got a latte that tasted mainly of milk. My Mum got a large latte which is served in what is basically a soup bowl. I assume if you want a flat white here you need to order a Cortado. It would be less annoying if it wasn't a chain as I expect the drinks to be consistent across a chain.

Why is the service so slow in this store?! I watched a spider weave an entire web, and another customers hair started turning grey....

Drinks and food are always good. Staff are also always nice.

A lovely, clean Costa compared to others in the area. My only complaint would be that the new seating isn’t comfortable enough to want to sit around for long.

Very Very busy..long wait but efficient staff...

Standard Costa plenty of room compared to the other Costa in bath which is very tight for space, would recommend this one.

Very busy, but the staff were friendly and efficient and therefore everything ran smoothly. The only problem was that the Black Forest Hot Chocolate was totally unavailable even though all the posters said welcome back to an old favourite!

I had a nice cup of coffee on a Sunday morning when the cafe was not too busy.

Good coffee, variety of cakes, and other food, reasonably priced.

NOT USI heard someone in the carpark talking for about 5-10 minutes on the phone. He came to the back door which I couldn’t open then when I told him he had to go round he pulled faces “said do I have to” in a whiny voice then stood there for a minutes looking at me when I showed him where to go. He went round in the end. As for the food, the hot chocolate was stone cold, I expected a fresh wrap, but it was on the useby date, dry, with no dressing and the muffins wasn’t todays. Was really dry.

The young man serving had excellent customer service. A few tables needed clearing but an overall good place.

Cleaner than most, as in furniture clean and tables cleared! Considering you can't move for bumping into Costa Coffee venues and/or machines anywhere in SE England, it would be nice if they trained their staff, and those who stock their machines, properly in basic hygiene

The service is awful. The coffee is no different than anywhere else. Southgate Street constantly smells of 'BURNT JUNK FOOD'. Who on earth would want to go back?

Stopped enroute to different location. Salad we bought was really good although i felt overpriced

I ordered 3 things; British Pork Sausage Bap 4.30 Cookies & Cream Bites 3.75 Chocolate Fudge Brownie Frappé 5.05 The sausage bap they rang me and told me they only had vegan so I said that’s fine and accepted that, by the time the frappe had got here it was mushy and the cream had disappeared into the drink however it did taste nice. The cookies and cream bits I never received. Very disappointed I ordered this and it took and hour and half to come and I got this.

The food was good, but we only had cheese and ham toasties. Service was a bit weird, I had to wait to be served, even though there were four people, including the manager. The atmosphere was alright, not too busy as we went there during the week. Shame they don't offer milkshakes. Instead, frappe, which is not good for children.

Clean tidy and nicely spaced out ...nice calm environment looks very good after the recent refurbishment. I had a lovely hot chocolate. Service is fast and friendly.

Nice costa, does get very busy here as right in the city centre and not a huge store.

Good place to sit and relax alone or with friends. Very good atmosphere and very friendly staff. If you want to purchase a drink to sit here and relax, I recommend. However, the food and drink here is not very good. Too much sugar in everything.

Not been in this Costa in Southgate area, for a long while l arrived 9.40am It was very very hot inside due to breakdown of air con Tho l found 2 or 3 huge fan machines working to help cool down the areas. Young girl on the til served me straight She was very pleasant. Not busy at all inside

Really annoyed that only half the order arrived, and we ordered bubble frappes which arrived with no straws! We work in a critical care setting and are unable to leave the building so weren't able to go to the store. Just an absolute shambles, contacted JustEat and nothings been done. Money taken for items not provided, generally wouldn't use this company again!

Ordered lunch from here & well it looks like I'm not eating as they decided to not put in the main thing my sandwhich- so what am I supposed to do now- so disappointed most of my order is missing

My coffee was missing so basically I paid £11 for a piece of cake I’m fuming There’s my review I’m always missing something get it sorted.

1st visit in June and was hot inside because air conditioning system had been faulty for weeks. The tempory hired portable air conditioners were just recirculating the air. Not sure if they were being operated properly. Bacon baps full of fat 🙄. Next visit march 2023 went in and straight back out as atmosphere was hot and airless. Went to another coffee shop. Won't ever be back. 🙄🙄

Burnt cold hard bagels, £5 each! They were so small, none of us enjoyed them what a rip off

Disgusting. I have never been in such a dirty Costa in all my life. Whilst waiting almost 20 minutes in the queue I snapped a few pics. If I hadn’t needed to stay on the important phone call I was on I’d have left.

Ok coffee but decidedly grubby on the inside the counter.....if the staff have time to sit back and drink coffee, it would be better perhaps to clean up their mess first......Sunday 20th Nov 2022

The only thing I knew about Costas coffee was from coronation street until I went to the UK. Tried it, loved it, Starbucks has nothing on this chain one of the best cappuccinos I have ever had...

This place is a joke, they close when they feel like it sometimes 4pm and 5pm but there officials time is 6pm.

Good Costa shop, my favourite coffee at present. Quick service with excellent seating all inside soft and more formal.

Ridiculous attitude from the staffs. Ignored several times.discriminated.

Friendly service and decent drinks but noticed flies all over the pastries which weren't covered up.

I last visited in the end of 2021, the staff then were super friendly and willing to help. They are always run ragged there because of it’s location, they work their butts off their, but seem to get it in the neck from customers which I was appalled by, many a time have a nearly spoke up, they couldn’t do any better, if you’re complaining go home and make your own! They’re hugely busy and try their hardest! Amazing quality drinks here too, all I had were amazing! Food selection was great too, lots of choice! Alex is a legend and super friendly, super quick on drinks too and makes them to a great quality! Respect is high for that guy. As for decor I think it’s very well laid out, lots of seating and comfy seats too, nice place to socialise or study or chill out, as for stall street it’s a bit too crammed and grim looking to me.

Please hire more staff! Was waiting for over 30 minutes In the queue just to order. Many customers left because the wait was too long. Only one member of staff, taking orders and making drinks. Not fair on the poor girl

Standard Costa fare. The place was a little grubby, though, and felt a bit run down. Staff were working ridiculously hard, it was very busy. Mint aero hot chocolate was ok, won't get another one. The Hubby had a cortado, which was ok

Pretty much the same as every other Costa. If you don't like such franchises this won't changer your mind. Usual good range of coffees and related drinks.

Poor service and coffee was like warm

What on earth has happened to the staffing levels? I used to be an almost daily customer here before covid and even when the store was very busy, the number of staff (two taking orders at the tills and another two making the drinks) meant that service was excellent. There was also at least one additional member of staff clearing tables. In the last few weeks I have visited a few times and while the counter staff have been doing their very best, there have consistently been just two doing everything that's required to take money, make drinks, prepare hot snacks, etc. The poor things simple cannot cope, given the number of customers. I waited around 10 minutes yesterday and - this not an exaggeration - the queue did not move! We left and had to go elsewhere, such a shame as I'm a big fan of Costa coffee. The time before when I was waiting at least two groups turned away because the wait was becoming excessive. Please do something about the staffing levels and return theSouthgate store to its previous high standards of customer care and satisfaction.

Great coffee and cake. Taken a star off because of the huge wait - member of staff took their break and left one employee on his own with a massive queue of people.

Used to be brilliant here staff are great but recently been short of staff and keep closing at 16:00 without warning instead of the advertised 18:00 leaving you not being able to finish your drink also certain areas are plaueged with small flys

As far as costa coffee goes this had to be the worst one ever, half the cafe closed off so no one can be seated, toilets were disgusting and general hygiene let them down.

Very busy and not much room to move around we didn't stay long. Special hot chocolates for Christmas were small and expensive best to order it with no cream as you get more of the liquid

Fabulous snack place, pricey but worth it..

0900 My coffee(americano) was fine. I asked for an oat milk flat white and was given a flat white...without oat milk.. 1015...my daughter feeling ill.

Usual Costa fayre was not happy I could not use a gift card to pay. I tried the after eight hot chocolate it was lovely. I also had the Florentine mince pie which was so sweet but heavenly. Nice comfy chairs, I enjoyed our short stop here.

Very slow service considering the amount of staff. Drink was very nice once I got.

Sooooo slow , the queue is out the door and there’s still no sense of urgency! All three are just plodding along!

Painfully slow service. Some may even describe it as glacial. 4 team members working; seemingly not knowing how to communicate orders between each other to speed up the process. At one point, instead of helping lone barista who appeared only to be able to process one order at a time, another started wiping down tiles... 15 minutes from joining queue to walking away with a coffee is never acceptable. (Visited 26/11/21, 15.50)

I was in Bath christmas shopping and popped into Costa coffee to enjoy a hot drink and rest my legs.
