Just popped in for a bag of chips and served immediately with what I can only assume was leftovers. Absolutely disgusting chips cooked in old fat and so over cooked it was difficult to eat then. Online they are £1.50 for small and I asked for small and charged £2. Never going back as such a shame as on my way home every night. Will not survive serving food like this.

The shop is badly designed. It is not big enough to have the seating. Coffee is very popular, but there are plenty of coffee shops. Should be concentrating on sausage rolls, doughnuts and sandwiches. If there is a queue, you are likely to be outside the shop.

We ate here a few months ago and it was ok not really inspiring, we re-visited last week and were very impressed, there was menu with plenty of choice and also a set menu for £20 for 3 courses, we ate of this and it was brilliant, lovely dishes, presented very nicely and the service was much improved also.

Not been here for a while, and have good memories of the previous little Avalon many years ago. Good range of choices on the menu. I had the mac and cheese with garlic bread - served with a little salad - it was excellent and tremendous value at a tenner. One real ale - Doom - which was fine. Will definately be back later in the week.

We really enjoyed our meal here. We were greeted in a very friendly manner & engaged in conversation. The room where we had our lunch was full of books & old photos of The Castle - which we loved. The food was reasonably priced & not too bad.

Food has just arrived 45mins late. Was originally estimated to be delivered at 18:15 then time kept getting pushed back. (Not a major issue) biggest problem is it's cold. Fries are chewy, pizza soggy. Now when the order said it was out for delivery it arrived 2 mins later, so don't know if it was stuck with the delivery driver for ages or not. Still very disappointing after spending £50 on an order

Waited in the queue to order for 15 minutes , then 40 minutes to get our food ! With a 2 year old and a 4 year old this is really poor! There were only about 10 people in the whole restaurant ! The food was mostly ok but daughter’s jacket potato not hot ! Will not risk it again and have had to wait a long time in previous visits but this has finished us for trying again !!! And they had no drinks left for the children’s meals and there was some cheese in the children’s beans and they are allergic to dairy !!!!!

Regular visitor to Glastonbury and always wanted to stay here. George & Pilgrim 600 years old packed with history and hauntings. Website needs to specify clearly its not suitable for people with disabilities as there is no lift. Tight spiral staircase which on crutches was not fun. Four poster room was fun and lovely to look at. However the bed was awful and left us with sore aching joints and back. Very hard and uncomfortable. There was tea and coffee and a bottle of water. Dinner unfortunately was very disappointing. The menu on the website looked fairly good however that menu didn’t exist and you only had a very small selection. A burger, fish and chips, pie or veggie option. No starters, no desserts, well not that i could see or was offered. Truffle parmasan chips were just normal fries with grated raw parmasan cheese on top no truffle? The burger was ok, cooked well but very mid no sauce. Breakfast nice huge improvement on dinner. Again limited choice no pastries, fruit as advertised no unlimited visits for toast or cereal just a one order. But it was cooked nice. All in all a good stay with potential to be great with a few improvements to beds and food. Staff friendly and pleasant.

Just tried to pay with cash which the machine wouldn't take. I waved (nicely)at a member of staff who approached my direction and promptly started talking to a friend while ignoring me. I didn't want to make a fuss so just walked out. I've been in customer service all my life and always trained my staff to attend customers first. I've never felt so invisible.

We visited the Brewers for the first time in many years today!! When we lived in Swindon, it was one of our go to places for lunch in the vicinity. Both of our lunches were wonderful, we both opted for their “pot” meals, my partner had the lamb tagine and I went for the Hungarian Beef pot, absolutely delicious The staff were attentive and the venue had a great atmosphere!! Well worth a visit
