Special mention goes to the staff. Attentive, jazzy, supportive! Made food just after service hours so could say no but served. Cocktails and pizza really good especially when cocktails are 2 for 1, they were rich in flavour. Pizza nice and crusty felt good ingredients. Thank you guys for taking care of us. 4.star atmosphere as it was too loud with live music and no guidance on where to get cutlery from or napkins

Great food, lovely location, friendly and quick service

We went at 7pm on a Wednesday evening. It was pretty quiet but we weren’t sure why! It is a brilliant cafe bar with a great menu and all at a decent price. Service was ok, but could tell waiters were a little stressed as they were preparing for a party. The outside beer garden is gorgeous - large and nicely decorated. The food was excellent, no complaints. The burger was well cooked with a juicy inside and crispy exterior. The pizza was handmade in their pizza oven & was fantastic.

Came In with my wife to get some food Got served from someone who served skills was not great and got our order wrong. The wife got the vegan nachos but asked for sour cream and forgot to bring it and asked for the sausage pizza after asked about the balti curry and what came with it and told a while to get the info (it was chicken with rice) and did asked for hallomi fries but after a few minutes said it was sold out. The pizza came and the nachos but there forgot to bring the sour cream despite asked for it and the guy with black hair and white trainers said it will be sorted. Also the pizza was burned and the hotdog sausage looked like it came out of a tin and was sliced. Not great but the wife was happy with the taste of the nachos with five bean chilli but felt it was a joke and won’t be back again

Ordered 3 starters and 3 mains! All came out together. Was told I should have pressed the button if I wanted separate, re looked on website and no button but was notes to chef if wanted separate. Didn’t see that but wouldn’t have taken 1 min to pop and see us and enquire if the order was correct. Waitress was like reading off a script with no solution. I had to recommend to put under the heat lamps as would have been cold . In the end our food was re made so they say 🤷‍♂️

First visit, food and drinks reasonably priced, only down side seated in the garden and was deposited by a seagull, so forced to leave early. Would not recommend sitting outside unless under cover.

Visited once (Tuesday), nice place but bad meal: chicken and bread was burnt black, chips were cardboard. No sweeping of table or even collecting used glasses from previous guests, despite being quiet.

The service from the girls behind the bar was great. Ben, the food runner, polite on the ball and efficient, The BEST and hats of to the CHEFS was the food, only a burger but by far best burger in torquay hands down messy to eat but the flavour packs a punch, do not have the fries, have the potato wedges they are proper ones not pre made in the bag.

5 ☆ as always, food was so fresh and tasty, highly recommend the steak chiabata and wedges that are beyond the best thing on the menu the staff are all happy and friendly.

Awkward dark atmosphere, prices are fine. Food wait times are fine, location is fine. Selection of food is great, just don’t like the presentation or taste. And I think they have like 3 puddings from what I remeber. So defiantly need to improve on the food front. It’s always empty when I visit also which is an indication.

Absolutely lovely little place. Staff were friendly, and so was the door supervisor. Really good conversation 👌 Band could have been a little better, but hay.

All food cold , didn’t receive the nachos , pizza looked like it had been chucked around.

Had a nice meal there. Great you can scan QR code to order as bar was quite busy. Staff are friendly. We sat in one of the seats above the bar and there is a light that constantly comes on and off which we think was a signal to staff that food was ready in the kitchen, but this did get quite annoying after a while. I imagine the atmosphere is pretty decent when there is a live band playing too!

Good looking venue, food took forever to come out and at the time I think there was only 5 other people besides us, i can only assume the food took so long as it had to be burnt to perfection 👌, and to top it off they served food without the onion rings it was supposed to come with, and didn't even mention this to us, when queried said they had run out ... why not tell us or offer an alternative??? . Even had to get them to change a diet coke as the mix had almost no syrup in it and was horrible, let's just say won't be wasting any more money there , very disappointed

The guy that served us was friendly, but food wasn’t good. Chips & onion rings were very overcooked & cold. Garlic bread was hard & not melted. Wasn’t checked on either, disappointed overall.

Wow!!! Great overall experience with the family Amazing food! I had the 3 little pigs pizza, and watched it from a far being cooked in the pizza oven. The atmosphere was great. Plus the beer garden was huge, so I would definitely recommend being out there in the summer. The restaurant staff, Luca and Fin, were very attentive and extremely polite and helped in situations that we weren’t sure of. Massive recommendation!!!

The best restaurant in Torquay! The food was amazing, big portions and good choice on the menu. The staff were very very friendly. The atmosphere in there was lovely good for families.

The staff are friendly and courteous. The food was lovely, good size portion and delicious. There`s a choice of seating areas, the the outside space feels like miles away from the high street. Highly recommend.

Decent venue, reasonable prices. Ordered 2 side dishes, one came out undercooked, no checkback done so didn't have an opportunity to let the staff know without heading inside to the bar. Had to order another dish of food. Sat in the lovely outdoor area at the back, through no fault of the venues, ended up siting next to a group of males using racial slurs. Would visit again and give it a second chance, probably wouldn't order anymore food.

Lovely bar with a large beer garden with a chilled relaxed atmosphere. Food was absolutely wicked.

Been here many times over the years, love the food and live music. Four of us visited from 6.30 for food, I can highly recommend the Fajitas and my wife had the pizza (bbq sauce, pulled pork with mushrooms) the food and service was excellent as always. Rich Cottell was performing and taking requests, we really enjoyed his interaction and some great tunes. Never disappoints. Thanks to all at Rock Garden for making a very wet Friday evening so enjoyable!

Place has gone down hill, used to love coming here. Chips are really salty, chicken burger was all microwaved and rubbery. Never again sorry.

Nice enough place, very clean except the toilets smelled of amonia. Was dead when we visited which was a shame.

I would not recommend this place, we were yesterday at lunchtime, we were sitting outside, no one from the staff came up and offered us drinks or food, the first person appeared when we had already placed an order online, paying for it, only after the we found out that the waiting time was from 15 to 40 minutes (You should inform customer at arrive not when we already paid for food ) after almost an hour we received raw wedges and dry fries, the waitress accepted the complaint without apologizing.. Waste of time: very poor quality food,very bad service.

Early dinner with drinks and honestly is the best place Torquay Town! Owner is the loveliest (Dave you are the best) and drinks are just as good!! Bands that play in the evening are always great with a fun dance floor!! Feel totally at home here and never judge, only good vibes in Rock Garden xo

This place is great, took the family there for a meal and some drinks. The service and food is second to none, Dave was fantastic made us feel welcome he was friendly and attentive, we had some cocktails and shots to finish up. There is a great garden to enjoy when the sun is out and regular live music. We will definitely be visiting again.

Booked a table at rock garden for my friends birthday and they decorated the table exactly how we wanted it, the service is always so fast and efficient and have their drinks & food never disappoint, definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Torquay!

£7.50 for 4 average tasting microwaved chicken wings?! Having a laugh! Can’t say I’ll be going back based on what we saw and had.. it’s that sort of thing that’ll make the place bankrupt again.

It was great to see Rock Garden back open again. The staff were friendly, happy and acknowledge us as soon as we walked in. The food offering was hard to choose from, as there was great choice of meals The food came out in good time, hot and the Greedy pig burger was banging. I loved the drinks offering and the beer tasted brilliant. Glad to see the place back. See you soon :)

As always we had a lovely lunch at the Rock Garden and even in this busy Christmas period the food and service was excellent. Looking forward to going again soon..

It was early evening but the food was excellent and would recommend m. It was a cold day so not very busy

My wife and I have been here three times together,and my wife has been there quite a bit with friends and with work colleagues. My wife always has pizza which she thinks are great. I've had chicken and ribs twice which were underwhelming and today had a Philli Cheese sandwich. The filling was tasty enough but it was a very meagre portion but the most awful bit was the dry bread roll. There was,no attempt to spray a bit of olive or another oil on it and then griddle it to crisp it up,make it softer and tastier. It simply was a very dry almost stale bread roll. I imagine that there are no cooks or chefs behind the scenes and that all of the food comes in pre- packed and is prepared on that basis. The place is very clean,the staff are great and prices are reasonable. They need to address the poor quality of certain food they offer for sale, some people would want to order other advertised foods other than pizza and burgers and should expect a reasonable standard of quality. This was my third visit and the third time I was dissatisfied. We were the only customers too so workload was not an issue.

Awfully went for my partners staff meal got told there was no space you can't sit there you can't stand here if you want to stay you got to go downstairs basically looking down there nose at me and my atire and without saying it the vibe the attitude get out of here you don't belong you fag/ Queer the fact my partners work team are carers and nurses and I am a carer what gives people the right to judge us for the way we look rude

We have previously been to this venue for the live entertainment a few years ago and revisited again. The live singers were very good but what let this venue down is the food and service. When asked by staff about the food we advised it was not the greatest and the General manager then came over, and particularly told us that we were wrong. The peri-peri pizza had no real taste as the chicken was bland and one of the party said it had a fishy taste and the maple glazed salmon was not glazed in anything. The manager was not interested. The other major issue is that both men in our party went to the toilets and these were disgusting and the stench was unbearable ! As a General Manager is not only responsible for managing the staff, handling complaints but also the general cleanliness of the venue, of which this one did not. He was eager to leave once the music had finished, with his coat on ready to leave his team to finish up... ! It is a great venue with great music, but the general service and food lets it down.

Went for a late lunch/early dinner with my husband and 2 year old son. ordering wasn't a problem as it wasn't busy. wait time for our food was OK. my sons plate came out hotter than the sun so had to request one that wasn't going to cause him burn as we could barely touch it. I ordered a medium/rare steak which came out very well done. my husband had the chilli and chips which was dry and no flavour of chilli. no table checks were done as it seemed staff were more interested in their phones. although our meals were edible they didn't reflect the price we paid. we were quick to eat and leave as anyone with a 2 year old knows they don't like to hang around. whilst getting our sons coat on, get him into his pram and get our things together a serve thought that was the right time to clear our table. As we danced around each other he did ask if everything was OK, we told our meals weren't as great as we had expected but he didn't seemed to care. Just felt like they could of waited for us to sort ourselves out before trying to get rid of us. feels like they lack basic customer service unfortunately. the decor and music is on point tho.

Ridiculous!!!! Over an hour late and the driver went an hour away from my house on the tracker and when he arrived he said he had a family emergency... you don't take someone's food for an hour and then bring it stone cold on your doorstep!!!!!

Fortunately the lovely coleslaw on the side came in handy!  The wedges were really big and the portion was generous. Definitely worth having over the fries. They could've been a bit hotter and crispier though.  The ribs were great, good flavour from the meat and marinade.  My Mum enjoyed the salmon with maple glaze.  I'd recommend a visit if you're in Torquay.

Its a nice place to go for a drink, from 9 pm to 12 have a Happy hour in some cocktails.

A Tuesday late lunch with work colleagues, so it was quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful and the pizza was delicious. Wanted a Brownie so had to bring some of the pizza home. Would eat here again.

Food was nice , unfortunately the customer service is awful , wasn’t asked if my food was okay , no communication when taking the plate , no please and thank you when I ordered , this is just basic stuff that could of made the experience so much different.

Food was sub par, burger bun was burnt and contained no cheese, fries were missed off the order, the wrong drink was sent and the kebab was a poorly made wrap with no pitta.

Arrived cold and looked like the pizza had been in a fight and lost. Will never use again

I honestly think this was up there with the worst roast I’ve ever eaten. Could have generally got better at weatherspoons.

Ordered using the app and didn't receive drinks so chased them up at the bar, asked if they'd received our food order and they said yes, waited an hour and ten minutes for a vegan kebab and a jacket potato, food was Luke warm but edible, chips were a bit on the cardboardy side. Not worth an hour's wait while other tables were leaving and asking for refunds. Rock garden used to be a great place to go for lunch, seems like it's gone downhill. 2 stars since food was edible.

We had our work's Christmas do here the first weekend in December and had a brilliant time. There were forty of us and we can't thank enough the staff that worked that night for being so friendly, polite and patient with our large group that had had a couple of drinks by the time we came to sit down! Three courses for that price was amazing value with generous portions of tasty food. The band were excellent and really added to the atmosphere and everyone at work has commented on what a great time they had. Communication beforehand regarding sorting payment and everyone's food choices was also brilliant. Thanks again and we highly recommend.

I was a little concerned when I received a call from the delivery driver, as he told me that he was at the rear of my property. This is not easily accessible and confusing why he would choose to do this. The front of my property is easily accessible as it’s on a main road. This was extremely bizarre why he would do this.

Staff were really friendly and attentive, lunch was really good, we all enjoyed our meals. Will go back : )

Wow how this place has declined. You should go elsewhere when you see a restaurant with NO other customers. There were seven of us, two bored chefs and two front of house. Front of house were good even though inexperienced. Food bad, pizza cold. we sent three pizzas back because not only were they cold but they weren't cooked through. we asked for them to have another couple of mins in the oven as the food for everybody else had arrived and we didn't really expect them to be remade.Of course, they came back like shrapnel. The greedy pig burger was hard and the nachos was just a big plate of tortilla chips. On the plus side they gave us 50% off all the food and a free round of drinks without us having to really complain. The poor owners wouldn't have made a penny profit. It would have been a much nicer experience on our birthday lunch to have been happy and paid full price. If your the owner your chefs are loosing you customers and profit.

Asked for wedges with my Caribbean Chicken. The wedges came out cold and only part cooked and the chicken looked like it had been grilled and then had a dollop of bought in sauce on top. When I asked the waitress if I could have fries to replace the wedges, the moment she took the plate back out to the kitchen, there were at least 6 members of staff all craning their necks to look at me. Felt like I was part of an exhibit. Definitely not worth the cost of the bill.

Food was excellent as usual. Good value for money. Sadly one meal was missed which meant a long wait for one of our party but this was rectified as quickly as possible and we all enjoyed our food.

100 staff on when it's dead but still takes 45 minutes for them to realise you've ordered a drink on the app. Scary part is that I'm not even exaggerating the wait...

Went for birthday drinks. Firstly the staff looked really smart all in black. Got a great table even though busy. We had to vacate the table at one point as it was booked but one of the staff quickly found us another table. Service was amazing throughout our stay, polite, efficient and friendly. Weather was horrendous outside so it was a great night inside.

The cocktail choice is lovely the garden is lovely little Huts with heating Very clean tidy staff lovely welcoming toilets are upstairs but they have a disabled toilet next to bar for wheelchair users

Good value for quality of produce served. Served pleasantly and efficiently. Only slight problem was the disabled radar toilet, found unlocked and I was unable to lock it - therefore unable to use!!

All the food was cold. Pizza wasn’t even cut properly into slices. Onion rings were mostly black and the two that weren’t were just oil when you bit into them. Loaded fries cold and literally solid and inedible. £42 takeaway not even worth £4

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone at rock garden, me and two family members came for food a few weeks ago (which was great) my sister unfortunately fainted and all the members off staff who responded quickly and helped with the situation I can’t thank enough. Just an update for all that helped she’s doing absolutely fine. Thanks again will be visiting soon.

Favourite music place in Devon, absolutely love it

Burger delicious, loaded chips were tasty but very soggy with grease when you got to the bottom, delivery time was over an hour on midweek early afternoon. Overall it was good 👍

Firstly they got the drinks order wrong, tea was luke warm. Starters were ok but meal took over an hour. Twenty minutes in the staff asked if we had had starters? After 11 hour we enquired when the meal would be ready they said 5 mins. Ten minutes later still no food so I enquired how long it would be but chef poked his head out of the kitchen and had a go at me so he got as good as he gave. 1 hour 15 minutes lunch arrived which was mediocre and a full refund was offered but they nothing about this. Very disappointed with service and treatment by staff especially the so called chef

Perfect in every way! Ate here last night and 2 weeks ago with friends and on both occasions, the service, food, atmosphere and experience was perfect. All meals were excellent and it was all faultless. Thank you Peter, Josh and all your team! Hopefully see you next week! Many thanks Debbie and Rich x

Love this place, never fails to disappoint! Amazing and varied menu with so many choices for Vegan & Vegetarian - and not just a vegan burger on offer! Great selection of drinks and cocktails too. Always super staff and excellent customer service, there's always a really nice vibe to the place too. This particular visit was with a few of the girls and we all enjoyed our meals. Even though it was a Monday there was live music on which was great and a nice surprise! There's also a large outside area, great for the Summer! As always, a fantastic visit and of course will be back again soon!

A niche bar/restaurant. Was busy during our time there (12:00-13:30). Have to say service was disappointing. Table staff never smiled and wanted to remove plates whilst others were finishing food. Food was ok. The Big Breakfast came as advertised. However it did only come with 2 small mushrooms and a warmed tomato. Could have done with some card coasters to keep cold drinks from dripping.

Best meat-free burger I've had in a long time, everyone else's food was great also, not much of an atmosphere midday but I've been here in the evening when there's live music on certain days and it's been really good.

The bbq pizza not enough bbq sauce couldn't taste it let down
