Excellent coffee and service. Please commend the staff for their care and service to an elderly customer. They were always caring and considerate. It was a joy to visit whilst i was on holiday in Torquay.

We visit our local Caffe Nero at home so while on holiday, we chose here. The first 2 visits were great, hot drinks, well made and polite staff, sadly on the Wednesday, they were offering takeaway cups only, but as we were having 2 cold drinks and 1 hot, we decided to have them, the member of staff was rather abrupt though and the hot drink was cold! However this was still the only option on Friday so we didn't bother and it was the same female making the drinks.

Love this place. Kane and his staff are the best. Great atmosphere, good coffee &cold drinks. Would recommend it 10/10

Visited Caffè Nero for a catch up with friends, the staff were lovely and chatty with smiles on their faces. Greeted us when we walked in and said goodbye as we left! The assistant manager Kane was a delight to chat to and extremely friendly! His drink making skills were excellent and extremely tasty! Even offered the remains of the drink to my toddler. Will definitely be visiting again! 10/10!

So I visited cafe Nero Torquay this week for a business chilax session and I must admit the hospitality was outstanding. Both baristas were friendly and very kind. Kane & Lauren in particular were absolutely amazing when it came to banter and general chit chat. The feeling of warmth, the atmosphere and family oriented cafe is just immaculate. Thank you to both Kane & Lauren for making my experience a wonderful one.

Place looked scruffy from outside, no different inside. All floors abs surfaces were sticky. Behind the counter was filthy. Coffee granules everywhere, under the coffee machine wasn’t just that days dirt. Manager condescending when I asked do they have caramel syrup for our frappe! No need for this. Lots of staff stood about! The place needs a good bleaching. It’s meant to a rustic feel but paint of the walls is not rustic. Toilets also grubby. Avoid until given a deep clean.

I feel I should apologise to the staff on duty as I dared to interrupt their personal conversation. After their chat was finished, I got our coffees, minus the milk, and went from there... We won't be going back

Went for a coffee after shopping. Table dirty, not cleared. NO DECAFFEINATED COFFEE!! Best they could offer was 1\2 shot of coffee. It was nearly cold too. Shan't be going there again.

Nice coffee and staff friendly, but while place needs a really deep clean. Tables not wiped, chairs dirty. Windows obv not been cleaned in a long time.Real shame as don't need to do a lot to attract more customers.

This must be the worst Caffe Nero I've ever been to. The staff almost can't be bothered to serve customers, as they do in other Caffe Neros. The place is scruffy and never looks clean, and there's always tables that need clearing. The staff are abrupt, almost to the point of rudeness. The company should close it down or make radical improvements.

nero is usually my go-to place for great coffee, but the torquay one was by far the worst experience i’ve ever had with them. as soon as i walked in, i thought the “barista” looked a little incompetent but wasn’t going to judge a book by its cover. but i wasn’t served for at least 20 minutes after walking in (despite the fact that there was almost no one else there). the guy made me feel uncomfortable and unwanted - as if HE was doing ME a favour - i ordered an iced flat white and a caramel iced latte, my usual orders from nero, and not only did he put the latte in the smaller, flat white cup and the flat white in the big latte cup, but the latte was unbearably sweet and the flat white tasted like dishwater. the “barista” also seemed to be reading how to make the drinks off of a sheet on the wall!! despite this he used the frappe machine for the flat white, too... moreover, i left the shop with two undrinkable coffees, £6.60 poorer than i was before, and i missed my bus. awful experience.

The town is littered with places you can get coffee. I recommend Caffe Nero Torquay for numerous reasons, Firstly, the coffee is first rate. I haven't eaten there often but I know the toasties are nice and I love the little chocolates on the counter. The staff are genuinely welcoming and engage in friendly conversation with the customers, which creates a warm atmosphere. It's positioned in the middle of town and handy for the cinema etc. Opposite, there are often buskers and street artists performing. Simply put, it's a lovely place to rest and recharge on your way through the town centre. 10/10

Great coffee and excellent location to get out of the rain. Just had my favourite expresso con panna. They were very generous with the cream apart from one time but still was good enough.

I was particularly unsatisfied with the staff as they were rude and patronising. I felt very uncomfortable and unwanted. I wouldn’t come back !!

This is a great place for the best coffee in Torquay town, great friendly service with a smile by most of the staff including a young man named Scott , plenty of seating inside and out, but beware the seagulls if you have food. Enjoy your drinks here.

Staff were friendly and the food was adequate.The toilets needed key access but do not think they had been checked for a while hence low score

I'm not usually a Caffe Nero Customer. I visited Caffe Nero with a friend as our Local Costa Coffee was closed today. The atmosphere in the store was ok, a little loud for my liking and the general cleanliness of the store was below my expectations. We were served by who I assume was the manager as she was seemed to be training a new member of staff who didn't look overly happy on being there.We got our drinks and was told our food would be bought over to us.After what seemed like a 10 minute wait the trainee, who looked scruffy and covered in disgusting tattoos that were on display bought our food over and promptly slammed them down on the table without saying a word. As he was leaving I could hear him mutter (F*** You) under his breath. We drank our drinks, left and will not be returning in the future.How and why do these places hire people like this I have no idea.

Clean, cosy, and dog friendly with a teriffic team rubbing the place. I highly recommend the chocolate fudge.

With my job taking me across country, I am user of Nero the length of Britain on an almost daily basis. Nero always provides a good coffee, as does the one in Torquay. However the restaurant and its toilets are dirty, and its manager is rude, unpleasant and always passive/aggressive.I would normally sit and enjoy a coffee whilst people watching out of the window but it is such an unpleasant environment I’ve now started to go to Starbucks

Been here a few times and it’s ok. Coffee’s quite good and the price is about right. What let’s it down is the poor hygiene - very slow to clear tables. Generally don’t clear the tables of the previous customers by the time we’ve been and gone. Last time today - unhappy that they allow dogs at all and today the barista was patting a dog and then straight back to serving food and drinks. Watched her do this without washing her hands. Vile to allow dogs in a restaurant though I accept the need for guide dogs. Why anyone else thinks it’s ok to have dogs slobbering over tables and chairs I don’t understand.

Lovely large store that does get extremely busy at times due to its prime location in the high street, so getting a seat (inside or out) is sometimes stressful, but I usually find that both the staff & the quality of drinks make it worth the effort, as my usual mocha is always enjoyable to drink, maybe could be hotter on occasions but that's me being critical when Its freezing out.

Charming cafe with two very competent staff. Great selection of does and biscuits of all sorts,great place to relax while taking a break from shopping,we recommend this cafe to all visitors. Anthony n

The service in this branch is slow, unorganised and messy. If the server doesn’t get your order wrong, they will burn it. Well, this is my experience from the last two days anyway. Won’t be hurrying back

Excellent staff who are very helpful and friendly. Excellent HOT chai latte and very good coffee. We return regularly. Plus can take our new puppy there as well.

Regularly go here for Coffee which is always good. All the staff are so friendly and they have some nice easy chairs in the place. On occasion the tables are not cleared away as quickly as maybe they could be but that's a small negative.

Caffe Nero offers quality you can count on in a chancey caffeine landscape of wanna-be coffee conjurors. As a fresh visitor to any town, I like to try new things, but when it comes to coffee, I am more discerning. I simply don’t want to risk my taste buds on the dicey offerings of a self-proclaimed independent coffee expert. But I can trust Caffee Nero and so you can you, especially when the local staff in Torquay try so hard to please you – even voluntarily re-making my extra dry cappuccino because they felt it might not be dry enough the first time. A rare experience indeed.

And the staff are so friendly.The guy with the gray spicky hair. Couldn't do enough for you. THE BEST COFFEE SHOP IN THE BAY. LOVE LOVE LOVE

29/09/17-Arrived and sat at a table with armchairs. Once again the table had the debris from previous customers which we had to remove ourselves. Unfortunately this left a dirty table surface, but the staff don't appear to see this as a basic hygeine issue and never spray and wipe them. Poor. At the counter we ordered sandwiches and coffee. The staff member asked if I wanted plates for the sandwiches. I said yes please, so the boxed sandwiches are plonked on the plate instead of being opened like they used to do. Poor. I paid by card, but the machine wasn't set correctly and wouldn't operate until I attracted the staff members attention from talking to another customer and she reset it. Poor. I then had to ask for the receipt which should be offered automatically. Poor. There are plenty of cafe bars to use in Torquay so the Nero staff need to get a grip or management need to review training. I don't expect 5 star service, but the basics should be right.

Went for coffee and teacake early on Sunday - very welcoming and friendly service from the two male staff. Lovely strong coffee made as requested and teacakes were delicious. Lovely seating area and very clean and tidy. This is our favourite coffee shop in Torquay and always pop in when visiting.

Went in for a coffee and some lunch. Gave us the wrong order and gave our loyalty card to another person as they were too busy talking to each other. Female member of staff stroking dogs then back serving without washing her hands. Dogs allowed to sit on laps or in chairs. Tables not cleared and dirty.

This was our first and last time to Caffe Nero. We were not impressed. Table was dirty, cushions not fluffed up. There was more cream on the hot choc than there was drink. And the cream wasn't the best. Husband had a latte that was bitter and it certainly left an after taste!

Great freshly made sandwiches tasty piece of millionaire shortbread and rather flavour loaded Mocha great staff and they let dogs in great stop thankyou

I like the Italian coffee served at Caffe Nero. It also has some pleasant seating areas and is conveniently situated in the main shopping street at the top of the town.

My wife and I visited this place just recently whilst visiting Torquay. We have been here quite a few times and every time the service has been excellant and the food also.

You're always made to feel very welcome by the great staff who go out of their way to make sure you're happy. I can't praise the staff enough. They're all lovely.

I visited 3 days running for morning coffee. Always met with happy obliging staff and plenty of comfortable seating. Coffee always very good.

Good range of coffee plus other drinks. Range of cakes and nibbles is good. Plenty of seating and couple of nice quiet areas to talk business. Will visit again

Went for a milkshake with my mum while on holiday and ordered strawberry of which they had run out of but the man gave us a thicker strawberry alternative which iv got to say was stunning . Great effort and great place deffo coming back do watch out lol !!!

Well what can I say, coming to nero is like going to a good friends house for a cuppa but with the added bonus of a lovely piece of cake. The staff are always friendly, warm and will go out of their way to make your visit a good one. Not a bad word to say about nero torquay.

First visit and a bit disappointed. Iced coffee was thick and tasteless, more like a milk shake. Spend over £11 for two iced coffees, a canned cold drink and one slice of cake. Staff friendly enough but won't be going back.
