Costa in Torbay

Coffee is strong. The ginger tea is very nice a - I would 100% recommend.

The coffee's was only fill half way up the cup so i got to small drink instead of the medium this really is not on when you wait for it i want my money back

Only my second visit to this costa, the staff were so lovely and welcoming, it makes such a difference when you receive a warm welcome.

Had to call restaurant only to find the delivery driver had took my food 45mins ago and had not updated app, delivered the food and drinks 1hr and 15mins late so now the food and drinks are cold, utterly disappointed with the driver, refund requested

Lovely little shop with fantastic views over the bay. Nice coffee as well. Great sat outside looking over the bay.

Coffee is nice but the wait can be very long. I waited 12 minutes and there were only 3 people in the queue before me. Covid measures are inconsistently applied (how many allowed in shop) sometimes very long queues if so walk on by or you will be there for ever. Review update. Standards have now improved and this is probably the best Costa in torbay. Tables cleared swiftly, coffee poured correctly and always clean. Pleasant staff.

didnt even turn up ! took over two hours for it to be 'delivered' only it changed to delivered when in fact nothing !

Its clear from the reviews on here for Costa coffee in Torquay that customers are getting mixed up with the one on the seafront with the rather poor one in the town centre, which is not worth reviewing. This is the one on Abbey Sands, which is a very different animal to the one in town, i visited both on the same day and they are like chalk and cheese (this one being the cheese!). I was very impressed by the way the staff here were ensuring that all items were correctly placed on show, everything kept clean and very tidy etc, no question the best i have seen of the many i have visited. Yes, it was in the morning and maybe by later in the day it will not be quite so nice, but credit where credit is due, all the staff were doing a fine job when i was there, very well done, you will all go far. Only had a coffee, but it was exactly what i ordered, extra hot, and so often 'extra hot' means luke warm or however it comes. Keep up the good work.

Rating given to the very kind employee who was giving out samples of the smoothie today at lunchtime! A great staff member and he deserves all the praise! A great product which I will definitely come back and buy and he was very knowledgeable and a great representative of the company!

FIX YOUR TOILET SEAT!!!! Popped in for a coffee on a beautiful Saturday lunch time to find the toilet seat was snapped in two !! Priority guys, this could really hurt people !!

Can appreciate times can be busy but to have 5-6 tables with trays of cups, plates left meaning difficult to find place to sit was a little dissapointing

He didn’t update the app!! didn’t tell me when he was leaving the cafe. despite me checking the app consistently… it kept extending delivery time until he just knocked on the door. my dogs were outside in the garden and i monitor it so i can meet the delivery driver outside the gate. otherwise my dogs get stressed and my rescue is still temperamental with strangers!

It’s always so crowded in there. The coffee is fine and the staff do their best, but they always seem so overwhelmed. You might need more staff.

The manager Izzie was very rude to us. They didn’t have the mango bubbles for the mango bubble frappe and we asked for the berry frappe instead. She instead gave us the mango frappe with the berry bubbles. When we told her she had got our order wrong she said that we should have the berry bubbles in the mango frappe. When we said we didn’t want it because it will taste weird she said kept saying no and it tastes the same . We left with the right drink but a bad overall experience.

The toilet was filthy. Toilet paper all over the floor, stuffed in the sink and clearly had not been cleaned for a whole. I asked one of the barristers to wipe the table I was about to eat at, and was told 'We are busy you know!' It was cleaned but I got a huff after it was wipped. I had to clear the table before it was wipped. When I ordered my drinks I got a miserable response back and look of discontent. The drinks took a long time to make. Others in the place were all commenting on the state of the toilet and poor service. Definatly not service with a smile here. 😒

As with all Costas, very nice. One star less because coffee was served in disposable cups even though we had cake to eat in. Could have used our own cups if they had run out of cups.

I paid extra for syrup and there wasn't any. The toasties was cold and not even cut in half!

Rider was on a bike and took a long time; so the hot drinks were cold and the ice drinks were melted. Overall not great and definitely not worth the money!

I've marked this place down from 5 stars which is unusual for me this is my second Saturday visit and they still don't have enough staff to serve the customers quickly or clean and tidy tables

Tables need clearing more, air con too cold in cold weather, most staff very warm and friendly, one or two not so. Fantastic location looking out to sea though.

EVERYTIME we come in, it takes forever to be served, always new staff which says a lot to be honest. Wasn’t even asked if I wanted anything on my hot chocolate, too much these days for young customer service, also sat with my toddler under a completely broken light which was megga dodgy and had a nice view of one of the staff outside on the phone while the queue carried on. Just wow to be honest.

Staff no so friendly here maybe not enough staff very buzzy shop on sea-front girls rushed off there feet.

45min late, only half of the cup (don't know how a large cappuccino can only fill half the cup), stone cold and with no sugar or chocolate dusting as ordered. Never again.

The Maple Hazel latte served looked nothing like the picture, the syrup was all at the bottom of the glass and no spoons available.

That's what I really want to complain about is nearly every time that I ordered something from Costa they cancel that order and I have to remake it. The problem is that they are not updating their menus when they run out of things on time so I make an order they cancel it because something I've ordered isn't there and then I have to reorder -2 things that isn't on the menu now. This time they didn't even update their menu to the things that weren't available so instead of ordering breakfast I just got the drinks since I didn't know what they had in stock. It's quite frustrating

The iced frappe was delivered in a hot drinks cup with no straw. The beans and cheese toasted was cold and the bread had gone solid. The driver was over 15 minutes late and said the area is a maze so couldn’t find her way. By the time I got the delivery the iced frappe was like water. Honestly absolutely horrid and the whole lot went in the bin

Hello, I’m very dissatisfied, I’ve had to re heat both of my coffees in the microwave on arrival when I’ve paid £11 for 2 coffees! I don’t think this is acceptable to be honest. I look forward to hearing from you as to what you can offer me to apologise for this!

Ordered a regular and a white hot chocolate. Although they both looked like they should, still waiting to actually taste the chocolate, only saving grace was that they were hot. Not ordering again.

Some of my food did not come and was all freezing cold we delivered

Service I received could only be described as curt, asked for a caramel latte and there was no caramel so I went back to the counter and he seemed mildly put out ! The addition was squirted in unceremoniously and it was handed back with no apology ! Wouldn't mind if the prices were reasonable ! ...on the NO list I m afraid ! Russ

On Sunday at 3.45 I went into Costa and asked for two coffees and a drink with a cup I could give to a small child. They served me in paper cups but put it on a tray. I went outside to sit down and within 2minutes we were asked to leave. They said they closed at 4pm. People were inside drinking and being told to leave. We had the intire staff saying we must go. At no point was I told it was take away only. It took the third person to say sorry. However even then they could see that the child was drinking and they were there demanding we leave. This is not only poor attatude from staff but bad for Torquay. I won't go again.
