Revolution Torquay in Torbay

I was in with friends for an evening drink between 11-11.30 pm & was served by a lovely young lady. Unfortunately, her hand was in a clear plastic glove, which was covered in blood. When I queried it, I was laughing thinking it was a prank. To my horror, I was told it was real blood. She had cut her finger on a bottle during her shift & was told by her assistant manager to carry on working. I am appalled as were my friends. How can this be allowed to happen? Surely the safety & health of the young woman should be put first. This is disgraceful. We won't be coming back!!!!

OK so first off, this place is definitely just a nightclub (in my opinion a anyway) so if you're after food / lunch, seriously don't bother. We arrived just before 12pm and the owner I think said to us we open in ten mins which is absolutely fair enough. Came back shortly after and sat at a comfy sofa table near the front, however literally all three tables I tried to sit down on were absolutely filthy, sticky and mucky so they hadn't been cleaned from the previous night before and were covered in drink stains. We weren't going to stay but my baby was starving and we were parched so decided to overlook this. We wanted some lunch desperately and tried to find a menu, however it appears that there are no menus at all and it's all done via an app you have to download. After literally numerous attempts to do this and eventually getting the app to (sort of) work we could see the menu. This process is actually ridiculously elongated and quite obnoxious to be honest. We eventually got the app working on one of our THREE mobile phones at about 12:25pm, then when I tried to order food it just came back and said this establishment isn't currently open at the moment; so yeah, this does not work and we gave up on food entirely. Even though we're sitting there, with about 7/8 members of staff having a meeting in the corner ignoring everyone. Went to get a drink for everyone because we'd sat down and I felt rude as we had sat down and fed the baby, asked for San Pellegrino (don't have it), Grape Soda (don't have it, J20's (don't have it)... All of which are listed on the drinks menu, but at this point I honestly just couldn't be bothered so ordered a cheap pint of Amstel and got out of there. Also, another party came in just as we were leaving, they were looking for menu's too and weren't even sure if they were open, they also wanted food and same as us just left after being completely confused. This might well be a good nightclub in Torquay, can't say for sure, however for lunch, food, or any type of drink that apparently appears on the menu, AVOID this at all costs.

Great vibe and superb choice of drinks

This is a cocktail bar they have a good selection but no different cocktail to other bars in the torquay area. I would of thought they'd have a much bigger range if anything... would be nice to have tried a zombie cocktail which they only seem to do in London not so much in Devon... I think most people who travel will find that u get a much bigger and broader range from cocktail to food in London but please note it is expensive in London and revolution in torquay does do 2 4 1 on cocktails.. I try to support my local pubs and as everyone tends to moan about prices of drinks etc my answer to them is don't go in there if u don't like the prices... I had good night in this bar and the prices for their drinks are reasonable but if too expensive for some maybe a good idea as it's keeps out the rift raft..

We booked here in advance for my daughters birthday. I had numerous emails confirming our booking and even one on the day saying they looked forward to seeing us. When we arrived we were met with a sign on the door saying that the kitchen was closed. After speaking with the manager she confirmed that the kitchen was closed but we were welcome to buy drinks. We were left feeling disappointed and at a loss of where to go as we are a family of 7 and we had 3 small hungry children with us, which we didn't want to drag them around in the heat looking for somewhere to eat at such short notice. It would have been nice to have had an email sent telling us about the kitchen being closed so we could of arranged somewhere else for my daughters special day. As a result of poor customer service we will not be booking again.

I went for a bottomless brunch at Revolution Torquay during the disney theme and it was so great!! They played loads of songs, there was karaoke and dancing too!!! the drinks were really tasty and i cant wait to go again!! definitely recommend!!

Staff very friendly and nice. My wife's wine glass was dirty with someone else's lipstick. And it was expensive 😪

Great atmosphere, great good and drinks, and aming costumer service. Worth a trip for if your on holiday in the area or if your ever in Torquay for the day.

Bar revs cook quality food, don't expect it to be as quick as wetherspoons. The places are very different. However the value for money is excellent and the chef is talented.

Just a shout out to cody. He clearly takes extra pride in his work and definetly deserves a well done :) bar manager ssid the chef was called cody so compliments where they are deserved. I'm a very picky water and it was amazing and presentation was great 10/10 thankyou cody

We had food, sadly the pretty much all of the food was cold. 3 cold burgers, BBQ chicken was also cold. The onion rings were overcooked and were tasteless along with the burgers. Service was dreadful. Only one member in the restaurant area and one behind the bar. Service was slow and the drinks were wrong. On the plus side the southern fried chicken was very good. No salt and pepper on any tables and the usual download the app and order from the table is the norm in there by the looks of it. You have to download the app etc etc. wouldn’t return here again. We had to wait 45 mins for the food and there were no prawns available. There were only 5 other people inside so it shouldn’t have taken that long.

Charlie was an amazing bartender and absolutely made our night. Made perfect cocktails and kept our hen do giggling! Thanks Charlie!

This place is a joke, I brought my husband down to Torquay for his birthday, we went to have an evening meal in this place the only thing that was nice was the coffee, food was cold burger was awful the chips were cold, a chef came out of the kitchen and he looked dirty and scruffy and the service was terrible won’t go there again spoilt our time away and to top it off I was sick the rest of our stay, the place is run by children with no idea of dress code

What an awful place wouldn’t go there again, service was poor food was awful though we ate it as we had been travelling all day from Wales and we were hungry although I wish I hadn’t as when I got back to our hotel I was violently sick, the staff were so young and had no idea how to keep the place clean plus the chef came out from the kitchen and looked dirty and scruffy wouldn’t go there again

If I could give above 5 stars for service then I would give more. Jas that served me in your Torquay Bar went above and beyond even before I had a very worrying event, this lovely young lady needs recognition. All of your other staff were lovely also. No incident in your premises just a very worrying call received by me. Jas is an absolute credit to your company.

Went during their £2.99 promotion, ended up paying £3.99 for a burger, loaded fries AND a cocktail, brilliant deal

Poor service. 1 hour wait for food despite being empty. When food came was disappointed with the portion of fries. Could fit 2 mouthful's before finishing. Burger was ok but bun was stale. Not worth your money, just go elsewhere.

Probably the saddest looking burger I’ve seen was barely edible but for 2.99 it’s not the worst. Atmosphere was decent not a terrible place considering the meal deal. But wouldn’t go again

Food still frozen when arrived to the table , no customer service , dirty tables and sticky floors

Absolute joke. Went for some lunch, they'd run out of meat burgers, but was happy to have the vegetarian option instead. After a wait of about 45 mimutes (maybe 4 other tables, which looked to have been served already) the "food" finally came out. It looked worse than something you'd get at a football ground and was nothing like the menu described. Ordered the blue cheese truffle burger, it had no lettuce, no mayo, no blue cheese. My sister had ordered the same and hers came out the same. Will never go back. To be fair to the staff there were no quibbles and refunded the meal. To the reply from the owner, you can't say this never happens, as it clearly did on this occasion.

I enjoyed a different afternoon tea in Revolution, the food was lovely however they brought the waffles with Ice cream at the same time as the savoury food hence the ice cream was melted when we ate it. Also, the cheesecake looked better than it tasted

A party of 10 we paid £25 per person for cocktail making experience.. on arrival nothing was explained to us .. we had 90 minutes with one member of staff whom was new and in experienced.. let me say it wasn’t her fault she had been put in the deep end…she would help us make our own cocktails which imagine 10 people.. took forever to get a drink..one game which wasn’t even explained was total shambles. Whole experience is a waste of money..

Had the afternoon tea here. Food is OK. Your not given cutlery or plates meaning you have to request it and as it is an afternoon tea for 2, this show be a standard. It was very quiet whilst we were there so not much of an atmosphere but nice as you could have a nice conversation without too much noise.

The 2.99 lunch meals are great quality for such a cheap price. Pizza on a proper stretched dough and a good sized piece of fish on the fish & Chip deal 😊 totally recommend

Went to try the £2.99 meals with family unfortunately only 1 piece of fish left which I had, great batter although very small. Unfortunately what let the experience down was the staff, no greetings or even farewells, food plonked on table with the few chips you had coming off the plate onto the table. Table dirty and sticky but the overall inside very nice looking even though it was empty which was a shame. Staff training definitely needed.Upon leaving 1 employee was sat in the corner vaping.Little bit more effort it could be a busy pleasant venue but got the "I couldn't care less" impression,

Not sure where to start... we went for lunch with my friend on 31st of December. Atmosphere looked lovely, not too busy, so we decided that's a nice place to eat. We went to order to thr bar and we were told there is 30mins wait for food, I was fine with that, as the menu looked great. Food arrived 40mins later, my cheesy bacon burger came in cold bun, bacon wasn't cooked properly and there was no cheesy sauce. I spoke to the waitress, she took my burger and chips, returned 15mins later with same chips but cold this time, bun was done and bacon crispy, but still no cheesy sauce. I went to the bar and spoke to another waitress, who kindly apologised and 5mins later brought me hot cheesy sauce in a little jug and said chips will be with me in a minute. I was pouring lovely hot cheesy sauce on my cold burger as I couldn't ask again to get anything warmed up. 15mins later I finished food, no chips... after hour and 20mins from the time we walked in I went to the waitress and told her not to worry about the chips. Looks like lovely place, but I will for sure not be returning 🙈 I think that waitresses handled the stress well, but it felt impossible to get the food right.

Booked in a bottomless brunch with my wife and I. We were the only people to do so but Hope needs a raise as she was fantastic. Made us feel very special and organised without prompting a birthday shot for my wife. Food was very good, was pleasantly surprised. Overall great couple of hours. Fantastic meal for the price, £2.99 meals, couldn't eat anywhere else for that. The downside was there were none of the 2.99 pizzas available, but the fish and chips was superb for the price paid.

Bottomless brunch but they lost our food order and closed the kitchen. Absolute shambles. I gave a 1 star review 3 years ago, but thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, but defo not again. Terrible.

I WENT with my partner, and noone approached to us even to introduce thelselves or take any order for more than 5 minutes. Servers were not around. Felt there was a lack of attention.

My friend took me and my partner here yesterday raving about the food but I was kinda disappointed. First of all the tables are so sticky! When was the last time they got decent scrub? It feels like they been drowned in soft drinks and wiped with a dry cloth. It was very quiet when we were here yesterday so I don't see a reason why they weren't properly cleaned. Apart from tables it was quite filthy under the midwall next to the sofas. The place isn't cleaned up properly and that is quite worrying considering you guys serve food. Speaking of which burger was lovely but I was disappointed about the Mac and cheese bites. I paid £6 for these but there were only 3! It feels like a daylight robbery considering other places you get 5 for 50p less. Overall experience wasn't all terrible but it didn't make me feel all that good either considering I work for the food industry and this would not sit well with me or my team. If my tables were as much as sticky I would be embarrassed.

Beware of lunch deals they don't come with alcohol. It does not say on the menu! And staff had no clue to how much things were.
