Costa in Torbay

Such a lovely atmosphere , staff are so friendly.

Got to love a costa coffee whilst in torquay for the day fancied a coffee and cake .always a nice coffee with a good choice .

As a twice daily customer to Costa I was most put out after visiting the new Costa out by Aldi told they’d shut 4.30) even though they had staff and it clearly stated they were open to 7pm then to go into town to the top Costa Torquay town centre to be dealt with poorly ordered a cake which I was told they can’t serve after 4.45pm which just lazy if this was my first experience of costa I wouldn’t go in again luckly for them they have a great Costa down the road where nothings too much trouble

It is one of the best Costas in Devon because of the extra friendly and efficient staff!

Very friendly and efficient staff. Only go there for coffee. Usual Costa selection of food, not my favourite, but okay if you just want a snack.

Worst Costa on planet earth. Staff ignore you completely while they fill a takeaway order. No acknowledgement you are waiting. Dirty tables. Left in disgust. Cafe 100 up the road gets my custom 👍

I didn't even get served. Having cleared my own table I stood like an idiot for 5 minutes at the counter unacknowledged. A food delivery driver had already pushed in front of me and it turned out he was waiting for an order for 20+ drinks. A staff member finally came to take my order and her colleague stopped her because they were going to complete the huge order first. Not normally a flouncer, but I flounced out! I am now enjoying a lovely coffee in Café One Hundred.

I attended the Costa Coffee shop on Union Street Torquay. I was appalled in the sarcastic comments received to my partner from the female member of staff. Her customer service somewhat need to be addressed. Her attitude is all wrong. Wearing no name badges. This has to be the worse one I have been to.

I thought the girl who served us was very rude no smile I asked the size of cup she showed us but never explained .no customer experience at all would certainly not go in there again.

When we go to this Costa, we got served plastic cups instead of glasses. Even though we ask for our drinks in a glass, we always get it served in paper cups. Theyre too lazy to wash the glasses it seems. Poor management. Never coming to this costa again!!!

We visited on a Tuesday lunchtime. The 2 staff were rushed off their feet, tables were piled up with used cups etc. The toilets were filthy and smelly. Costa, employ more staff, your coffee is great, the cafe is a disgrace.

I spilled most of my drink and a server named ruby was very considerate, cleaning the table, asking if I spilled on myself and then gave me a free drink! Incredibly sweet and welcoming <3 I come here every week and always have a nice time but ruby was above and beyond :)))

We come to Costa every week but we simply had to leave a review this time. My friend spilled most of her drink, and when she asked for something to clean it up with, Ruby kindly cleaned it up for us. She also offered to make my friend a new drink for free. Such a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, and really hope Ruby gets some recognition or reward for this.

To everyone wanting a costa do get it delivered as it is always wrong today I order two coffee what we have all the time and we couldn't drink them

It is bad I'm now a daily customer? All the staff are fantastic. I beg customers remember the coffees and food will only be made as fast as the machinery will allow. Its not a snap of the fingers and its done. If you want it that fast, go to macdonalds. I despise a previous comment regarding a member off staff. My drink is always perfect 😊 I feel awful for them that when the just eat drivers take an hour to collect an order its the store that bares the brunt of it and the orders always drop in at the worst possible times, busy and crowded and the barristas have no breaks due to it. Please treat all staff with respect and understanding. I work customer facing also and know what its like to want to just walk on a bad day. Don't make their day worse. It's a small store doing its best! Thank you costa staff (this is the costa opposite boots) for looking after me!

Great location with amazing views of the sea front . Outside seating available and dog friendly, with a water bowl for them. The staff member who served us was very friendly and welcoming.

What a amateur service… had to wait 15 mins from receiving the frappe to receiving the hot drinks (by which point the frappe was finished). When I queried the delay with the barista, he was dismissive and gave no apology or explanation. It should be noted that there were only a handful of customers seated, so how they cope when busy is a wonder. When the drinks eventually arrived, I had to return the caramel latte as they’d forgotten the syrup and just tasted like water. Also noted that the back counter was strewn with debris, cleaning cloths, coffee grounds, cups etc indicating a complete lack of care and professional operation. Far and away the worst Costa I’ve ever been to!

Spoilt by the every increasing GRAFFITI over the front... been like it for a whiole but nothing is done abbout it. It would take seconds to paint it out, but its left.. Torquay town centre is sad enough without seeing this in this highly prominant spot.

Placed our order, she read it back, then didn't give me a cake I ordered, I asked for my cake she said that I hadn't ordered or paid for it and as I wasn't given a receipt not much I could do but buy another one, still wasn't given a receipt. Then the server proceeded to talk about me loudly to her other colleagues, the worst experience in a Costa ever. I paid for a cake twice and was treated poorly - I have put a complaint into Costa but they haven't acknowledge it. Disgusting behaviour from staff and Costa won't be using them again.

Staff are lovely, drinks are mostly ok, either you get a cup of lava or you get something you have to drink straight away.

Brilliant service lady named jo was very polite and helpful even though they were short staffed. Nothing was too much trouble. They even brought food to our table. Much better than abbey sands which is very noisy and can’t even get toast at breakfast time. If you want good service go to the Costa at top of union street

Lovely coffee and very friendly staff

I come to Costa every morning before my job and have a Mocha and a ham and cheese toastie . I have never felt so happy and welcome coming into a wonderful coffee store Costa on New union Street number 3 . The staff are happy and cheerful and helpful the manager Mike is lovley and hard working and has a great team . Mike is a very good manager he is Very Good looking and work well as a strong leader for his team. The Cost store is always clean and tidy and very friendly . I would be his Assistant Manager if he needs one

Good coffee. Lots of choice. Good to see them serving M&S food now. Good quality.

Nice staff, however, a new barista was being trained. OK, not an issue in itself, however, as feedback, it would be helpful if the trainer checked the quality of the trainee barista's takeaway coffee before releasing it to the customer. When sampling a short time later the cappuccino was flat, lifeless and was tasteless. The latte was just as bad. Not Costa's normal standard on this occasion unfortunately.

Been in all costa coffees but today went in the one next to Waterstones…. Have to say no different than all I’ve been in…the staff can’t do enough for you so helpful, brought my tray over no problem as I have a stick and bags, very clean, very efficient. The staff deserved to be praised for their hard team work they all pull together so nice to see. I will be using costa each time I am in Torquay centre and will recommend to my family and friends…KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK PEOPLE YOUR A CREDIT TO THE COMPANY!

I spent a couple of days I. Torquay on business and stayed at the Premier Inn yards away from this Costa. I visited twice over the space of two days and both times had excellent customer service. Young lady called Rose I think. Very courteous and professional

Just wanted to say how much of a credit Jo and Keiran are to the store. They deserve recognition for their fabulous customer service, they’re always happy and smiling, so patient and friendly, always welcoming into the store, I’m a Costa lover and when I see them behind the counter it always makes my visit 10 times better. AND they always get my drinks order exactly how I like it! They are mine and my daughters favourites! Well done Costa, keep hold of them!

Stopped for a quick coffee & cake whilst in Torquay, very pleasant view from the front outside tables looking out across the sea. Added bonus you can see the cruise ships, just off the coast at the moment.Very friendly staff, constantly keeping the tables cleaned.

Not happy with their Covid-19 policies regarding Costa reward cards. No gloves or sanitising after handling customers' cards and then serving subsequent customers

Went to the costa coffee yesterday afternoon at the Babbecombe Hotel,waited so long to be served the woman whom was being served wanted a pizza the girl didn't seem to know what she was doing thank goodness another girl came to help her, but then she couldn't find a big enough plate so she cut the pizza in slices and put it on two plates,next person was served alright two coffees at last it was my turn two coffees pint of lager and three slices of sponge cake one slice was rock hard and the other two slices were cut from a new cake and I mentioned the the cake looked stale and could i have a fresh piece and the assistant said she could not do it so I stuck my finger in the cake to show them it was rock hard and one of the assistant said it should be alright as it has been in the fridge all night,any way alls well that ends well I got my new piece of fresh cake,

This place really let's the side down!!! Very dirty!! The toilets were out of order! Coffee wasn't filled to the top, or anywhere near! And it wasn't that hot either! More expensive than all of the others in this local area! NOT a pleasant experience and I would never ever go back...

Wonderful friendly customer service! As soon as my friend and I were done with our table it was cleaned and prepared for the next person. This is fantastic considering the currant climate. Very happy with service and atmosphere today. Costa has never disappointed me!

Not the worst Costa Coffee in the world. Tea is £2.10 which can either be small or large.

We were on holiday in Devon and went to Torquay for the day! Big mistake, outside Costa sitting on the chairs were what can only be described as alcoholic down and outs, taking up seats drinking cans of alcohol. We went inside were it was OK but not brilliant. But, it was raining and we needed a rest, we needed to use the toilet my wife was fortunate as there is only one unisex toilet a lady came out and left the door open for her. I am disabled with a radar key which was of no use because the doors have coded locks. So, I asked the assistant and she opened the door, I asked why the didn't use radar. Answer, because people come in off the streets to use them. Going into Union street I could see it was like a third world country, so many, alcoholics with cans untidy people. I got the impression that they had gathered up all the dregs of the world and parachuted then into Torquay. It was so respectable and up market years ago. Now, disgusting and 30p for a pee in disgusting toilets. KEEP AWAY,

Let me start by saying that I'm a regular drinker at union street costa, its close to my home and I like the shop layout.I had never had a problem with the staff and Hattie, Katie and Milo are good at what they do,serving with a polite attitude and most importantly with quick efficiency.Unfortunately over recent months they have hired some of the laziest and rudest behemoths Torquay has to offer, who seem completely put out if a given situation requires movement above a snails pace.My suggestion for all is peer through the window and see who's on shift before entering,if there is a herd of manatee's behind the till then your best off finding a different shop.Good day.

Visited the area as a treat for my twins to have a babychino which they enjoy so overall good visit but toilets were a little grubby
