Tesco Cafe in Exeter

Did not receive any egg with my fried breakfast and was not sent any substitute

Ordered breakfast baps and they were amazing and so was the delivery guy

said it would arrive at 13.20 but came at 13.49. ordered at 12.43

Didn't arrive delivered else where

Portions were so small and cold

Large seating area with a lift. The British breakfast was a little bit oily.

My breakfast was missing 3 hash browns which is a huge portion of the meal

I’m not happy with my order. There was coffee split on my packaging so there much have been a drink.It smells of coffee

Great driver, delivered slightly early. Iced coffee had spilt leaving me with less than half which driver pointed out as it was dripping in my doorstep. Just eat refunded me which was great. Food delicious.

Have visited a few times for lunch. Food and drinks are well priced and decent quality, but the customer service each time has been really slow and poor. Staff seem disinterested in their job and the customers, which let's down what would otherwise be a nice place for lunch.

2 times been here with my boy for breakfast. Ordered from kids menu both times. Food came out absolutely baking, was told it had just come out of fryer. Meaning my child could not eat their food for 10mins. All food from child menu should be ready to eat when arriving on table. Not steaming.

They close at 4pm apparently not 5pm as it’s says on here.

Food was garbage. Bacon not cooked egg was snotty and the beans were cold. They don't know how to make a wrap and the side salad was 2 half's of rotten tomato and a lettuce leaf the size of a gold ball. Staff were friendly but I won't be back

What was delivered was nice/tasty, but £4.10 for an iced latte, and they didn't even deliver it! Plus, I added extras to items that weren't added or delivered either. Only drink on the order and they didn't bring it. Disappointed!

Did not get my food and I am fuming

Just awful! 40 minute wait for two breakfasts! And it wasn't even busy. Our coffee was finished well before the food arrived, and when it did turn up the bacon was rock hard, pork sausage was so cheap it had no taste. The hash browns were like sponges full of grease. Won't be going back

Can’t eat egg’s wouldn’t swap and just told me we have to pay for it anyway. Terrible food, don’t waste your money here.

I was in a quandary as to what to order...but I then saw scampi and tartre sauce...it made my decision easy!! Imagine then my disappointment when my meal arrived...and there was no sign of the tartre sauce! Don't offer it if you're not going to give it!!

Ordered 2 jacket potatoes and 2 lattes. The wait for food was too long, coffee well and truly finished when the food arrived. The tuna jacket was lukewarm, hard and the tuna had not seen any mayo. In contrast the cheese and beans jacket had been microwaved to explosion, it was so hot you could touch the plate and even after cutting it up to cool enough to eat too 15 mins. In the end we gave up, the place was dirty and the staff stood around chatting not interested at all. Eventually managed to contact Tescos, a very limp apology. Not impressed at all avoid at all costs.

The 10 minute wait in the queue waiting for 2 people to order was tolerable. The 30 minute wait for food I can live with. Being greeted with the word 'Mate' actually slightly boiled my piss alittle bit. Surely a 'hello' or a 'good morning, or even an 'excuse me' would suffice.... But 'mate'... I'm not your mate, you do not know me. I am your customer and you are the representative of your company. Update. Food arrived 30 minutes after ordering. Good estimation. But you did just plonk it down with a 'here y'go mate' Again, no..just no Jesus Christ! Also, I could not work out how the eggs and beans could be so cold seeing as they appear to have been cooked for so long...

Arrived at 3.50 pm .staff friendly but food awful. Husbands rice was solid and he had a battered chicken fillet masquerading as chicken katsu

Put in the comments that I have an egg allergy and got an egg in there. Gave it to my housemate and I think that my order was rushed after being left without update for 25 minutes!

Very bad experience My Vegan breakfast had a hair in avocado mash :( noticed only after finishing 3/4th of the food Though they have a refund no one apologised for having a hair in food served and I had thrown up all food eaten The English breakfast sausages were not cooked fully Don’t recommend should have trusted the reviews

I had a lovely all day breakfast at Tesco, today. I found the experience rather delightful, and I would most certainly return again. There’s nothing quite like the Hunger Games viewing platform, either. We are two steps away from a televised phenomena.

I was only delivered 1 portion of chips, ordered and paid for 4. Just Eat app not working properly so could not open "can we help you with anything" Disappointing

Took 50 minutes to get a salad and burger

My food was wrong, some was missing and drinks were everywhere that we didn't even get the drinks this is a joke

Rather, a long wait for our lite bits. Thought 20 minutes rather long for a cheese toastie. Chip only lukewarm. Wont be going back. On the plus side, staff were friendly.

Very lovely staff. I was served by Jack, who was very friendly and helpful. My boy had the kids select lunch bag. I had a gingerbread coffee. The coffee is the only bad thing. It tastes burnt and not at all like gingerbread. I could not drink it. My son enjoyed his lunch and over all a pleasant place to stop.

Went here late morning for breakfast. Long queue 10 min wait. Long wait for food 25 min wait. Cold sausage bap served. Sausages were Lincolnshire or Cumberland, should specify that really, not just say pork as I don’t like herby sausages. Eggs were hot and fresh on the cooked breakfast but food was mostly ‘hot’ held and barely lukewarm. Not what you expect when you wait so long.

I have to have lactose free milk and I don't like the take of dairy free milk. I was so happy to see on your menu board that you have lactose free milk. It meant I could have a latte as normally when I drink out I have to have black tea or coffee. Thank you very much. It made my day

Spot on. Good service, nice food.

The menu looked good and there were a few things we were interested in trying but at 4.30pm we arrived to discover they weren't serving any hot food! We will have to try again another time and will post a food review then. It's a shame that there wasn't a sign at the bottom of the stairs leading to the cafe saying there was no hot food available as we wouldn't have bothered joining the queue.

TOTALLY WRONG, On Saturday the 14th 2022 I went to the cafe with my wife and had the Brunch and this consisted of Free Range poached egg, halloumi cheese, roasted tomato, smashed avocado, beans, Hash Brown Flat mushroom and sourdough toast. What I actually got was Fried egg very undercooked, cheese ok, raw tomato that was warm at best on the edges and cold in the middle, not smashed avocado but half a whole half with a brown old edge on it, I got all the rest except the flat mushroom was just cooked on the outside and the rest was raw and felt like it had been just picked. I ate the Brunch but left most of the mushroom and the slime of the egg. I poured this out the the lady at the counter who never made any effort to change things or didn’t even come to the table she just said “oh ok I will let the kitchen know”. I do t usually complain and didn’t just leave a review as some people do I actually approached them but nothing was done and no care was taken at all. Come on Tescos every little helps so sort out your cook and get a real one.

We both opted for their Mini Breakfast with two teas - £13.20 Total. Egg well cooked and runny (as we like it), crispy bacon, etc. Only downsize - served up on a very small plate.

Food wasn’t bad, bacon was abit fatty, should give you the option of brown or white bread instead of just sending any, ordered a £2.15 brownie and got the £1.70 one, bit poor that, simple things that shouldn’t happen

I’m disgusted by the food that was served here after being told half of the menu wasn’t on and what was on the menu that they had was served freezing cold and burnt how can you burn beans !? The bacon was rock hard and couldn’t be cut with the knife given the sausage was cold the egg and raw the hash brown burn and cold the tomato was just turned over on the cooker for the money I had to pay I expect at least a warm meal !

Always have lunch here before doing my shopping. Sometimes a queue at lunchtimes but never too bad.

25 minutes to get to till and there were only five people in front of us and two of them gave up ( two workmen as they only had a hour ) . when we got to the till ordered food we were met a member of staff that really did not care . we went to table and waited and waited which turned into a 45 minute wait good job we were not in a rush . there where at least six if not seven staff working . we saw 12 people leave as they could not wait any longer. this cafe rocket up there ??? the money they must be losing by people getting tried of waiting

I’ve ordered from here a number of times now….I must say though I think the quality has dropped somewhat recently. It used to be amazing…however now the chips are a bit more soggy than crisp, the eggs are brown on the bottom and the beans are overdone heated. It’s still somewhere I will use but it’s a shame that 5 star has dropped….

Missing a flat mushroom I’d paid extra 95p for no tomatoes or butter for our toast and it took over an hour because they couldn’t assign a driver! Meal very tasty just a shame about missing items

Portion sizes could be a little bit bigger for the children meals, but are perfect size for the breakfast. Would buy again for delivery

Really pleased this is on Just Eat. The pricing is really fair and good. I ordered a cooked breakfast and was lovely, even had a cool written note on the box saying “enjoy!” Nice touch!! Food, service and delivery time all spot on!!!

A quick egg on toast x 2. Quick, efficient and welcoming staff. All tables cleaned down extremely well.

Range of gluten free options is shockingly rubbish. Choice of 4 small pre packed snack cakes. Have one very sad young daughter who couldnt have a single bit of food.

Tesco Cafe staff should be congratulated for providing a Covid safe environment together with nicely prepared food and drinks and then give you 50% off the bill. Staff were outstounding and friendly.

Waited 20 minutes for one coffee! I was relatively early on a Sunday morning, but the cafe was not fully staffed and those staff that were working were very busy. The additional Covid requirements have not really been taken on board by management. I only wanted a coffee!

Bought a frozen turkey at tesco for xmas lunch at rydon lane thawed it out and Put in oven to cook a few hours in started getting concerned when no juices were appearing in tray so added some of our own stock after time took the cooked turkey out of oven and left to cool so after time went to carve the turkey to be horrified there was no meat under skin it was a complete carcus thank you tee off for ruining our xmas lunch with 10 people to feed luckily I had bought a gammon joint from sainsburys the wrapping on the turkey bag said from specially selected farms so believed it was a good one will never be buying from here again and if anyone have guests coming for lunch and buying turkeys from this shop make sure you have a reserve of food

They only get one star for the staff as they were lovely. Place is filthy, food is rubbish I would not recommend eating here!

Chef rude, asked her a question of what's in the panini, she told me to ask cashier , waited 10mins in cue to be told there is no festive panini! Why advertise??? Had to eat separately as my food came 10mins after my partners ,while I was waiting I counted ten full dirty tables,and watched customers clean up, and complain,so it's not just me

Waited 15 minutes to even get to the till then to be told a 25 minute wait on food. This included just a teacake. Had my young son with me who was Starving. Should warn you of wait before you queue.

Awful. Don't waste your time or money. The food is NOT fresh, even the omelettes. Poached eggs are ordered in - frozen. This strikes me as crazy, considering they are a supermarket - with access to hundreds of eggs, but the kitchen staff aren’t even allowed to cook one! The breakfast arrived after a 40 minute wait, they’d ran out of eggs, and what did arrive, arrived cold. The staff don't even observe the most basic of food hygiene rules, no hats. They don't really seem to know what they're doing which is not their fault, it’s just lack of training and poor supervision. If in the area and looking to eat, there is a costa just around the corner, or much better - a short drive to Fresha Cafe, 23 Bittern Rd, Exeter EX2 7LW. they're food is soooo much better and very reasonably priced.

This is a good cafe in the Superstore. I frequently have an Americano coffee with cold milk there. Consistently tasty. Today, I also treated myself to a toasted teacake with butter and jam. Yummy. A lady member of the staff acted as a waitress and served me at my table. (took pity on an old guy?)

Called in here for breakfast after an early drive from South Wales. Breakfast took 30 mins to arrive by which time the coffees were cold and we had to order more. My poached eggs on toast were awful. The toast had a rubbery consistency. The eggs were over cooked, more like hard-boiled and I had to lift them off the toast to scrape the small pat of butter on. Never again!

Used the facilities here. I could have eaten my dinner in there as they were spotless. Staff helpful. Full marks to Tesco.

The pink lemonade tasted horrible and the melon crush was sickly sweet, even for someone what has a sweet tooth.

The Tesco ham egg and chips is always very good, and a bargain too. 2 eggs, nice ham, peas, half a tomato, super chips served in no time at all - a good bite to eat when tired from shopping

Not exactly gourmet, but a slap up brekkie for not much. Beautiful.

Absolutely poor, bacon sandwich consists of two rashers on cheap bread. Wobbly tables helps to spill you refreshments, tesco needs to take a look at the service they provide.

The food was good once we got it but oh my the tables were cluterred with dirty dishes and the staff seemed run off their feet. The cafe wasn't even busy. Can there be a review of how much milk customers are given with a pot of tea, 20 mls. In a little plastic dish plainly isn't enough.

Tesco cafes have gone downhill. Very limited menu and too expensive for what it is also not enjoyable.

We called while visiting exeter for asnack its a normal tesco cafe with good service and cheap food.as expected
