Lovely family pub, with a great park for the kids. The staff are friendly and helpful. The menu is a little pricey but it's worth paying the extra for the kids to have somewhere to play. Highly recommend the sea bass dish and the pizzas are tasty too!

We (2 small families, 6 of us total) visited late on a Saturday afternoon, we initially sat outdoors so the kids could play, however decided to stay for food, we were told there were no tables indoors, it was 5pm on a Saturday and only 20% of the tables were taken, but they had said they were short staffed so maybe didn’t have time to clean tables before a later booking? Either way the lady wasn’t very accommodating. It was getting quite cold so wasn’t ideal for 2 toddlers to sit outside and eat, we managed to get a seat in the undercover area attached to the restaurant which was sheltered and warmer than the garden. The lady at the bar was quite abrupt and rude. Our food came out wrong, looking back at the menu now the peking pizzas should have had hoisin sauce on (it didn’t), nor did it have spring onion on, something was missing from another plate, which was quickly rectified by a very polite young man who was helpful and friendly through our visit. The outdoor area is very tired and in need of some love, not too many years ago it used to be a large open area, now it is all fenced off making the garden at the back very small and enclosed. The bin was on its side, it was quite a scruffy area in need of some love and investment, it’s a shame the lovely views have been blocked by fences all the way round. The positive from our visit was the young man who served our food and got our sauces, he couldn’t have been more helpful, it’s just a shame not all staff were as friendly. Also the children loved the play area It’s a shame as this used to be a wonderful pub, hopefully things improve soon as it has alot of potential.

Food was really good and everyone from my party agreed. One starter didn’t arrive but these things happen and there was no fuss in taking it off the final tab, so no biggie whatsoever. Friendly staff and the wait for food was just right. Had a bit of a disaster with the fire place but this was expertly handled by the staff and with a smile. Can’t ask for much more. Looking forward to the same time in 2025. Happy new year!

My niece booked a side event room at the Brewers Arms wanborough for my sisters 50th birthday. It was a great room for about 30 people with separate tables in our own space. We pre ordered our meals and everything came out speedily and as we’d ordered. It was lovely and a wide selection of food from the menu. Some of us ordered desserts which were lovely too. The pub arranged for the birthday cake to come out and it was perfect. I’d recommend this for a small private function room. It was like having your own private restaurant. Thank you Brewer’s Arms.

What has happened!!!! Not the best evening. Food was ok atmosphere was none existent. For a Saturday evening a week before Xmas it should have been buzzing! Very quiet there but the service was still slow. Toilets need a major overhaul as does the whole building. My last issue was the lack of Arkles Ales no 3Bs again! This was our second visit here in a matter of months and there was no 3B’s then either. The brewery is only a 10 minute drive away, come on Arkles this pub in Wanborough needs some help.!!! Not sure we will visit again for sometime if at all . Does anyone care anymore though?

We were not sure what to expect - it looked like an old pub from the outside - plenty of tables outside and no real indication as to the entrance - there was a front door and a side door - so with trepidation we entered the front door (I suppose that would have been logical). Once inside - it was massive and most tables were full (it was 7pm on a Saturday). All nicely spaced, it was warm and comfortable looking and we we were shown to our seats. A couple of beers ordered and then what to have - questions asked and answered honestly about portion size (i couldnt work out whether to have chips) and honest and accurate in the answer. We started with a Greek Sharing platter - salad, olives, feta cheese, halloumi and dips - and as i told the waitress - the best houmous i have ever had. Nice Sourdough bread too. For mains my wife had Scampi and chips (massive chunky ones). I opted for the Hungarian Beef Hotpot (Gulasch) and no chips as it came with bread (3 slices would have been nice - but 2 were enough) and this was excellent - second only to one i had in Austria in 1984. After a lovely 2 courses, it started to get busier and you had to "get the waitresses attention" not that in anyway we were ignored and nor was it difficult or a long time to get served - but, we ordered desert - nice choice of proper puddings! My wife opted for tiramisu and i had warm apple and cinnamon cake - with custard. Overall the food was great, the service was excellent and the place was great - we will certainly come back. Thanks everyone for making such an enjoyable evening. M!chael & Tracy

We popped into the Brewer's Arms one lunchtime to check the place out and received such a warm welcome that we decided on the spot to return for dinner that evening. We sat in the back room which was immaculately clean and made to look very cosy. The young man who served us couldn't have been nicer. My glass of Shiraz was delicious (not always the case in a pub), and the food was fabulous. I had some mini-pots in order to try more dishes and they were all excellent - especially the lamb tagine. My partner had a pie (a proper pie!) with gravy that was so good we asked to take the remainder with us. The chef kindly sent us home with half a pint of it, which we shall enjoy on Christmas Day! We would return to The Brewers Arms in a flash and highly recommend this place. We had such a lovely relaxing evening.

Went for lunch today. Fifteen minutes after we arrived we had to ask if we could order and were told it wasn't our turn. Eventually we ordered, roasts all round as it was Sunday. Took an eternity to arrive so that our food was eventually on the table over an hour after we arrived. No communication from staff in between. Roast potatoes tasted of fish and roast pork roast tasted suspiciously of Chinese seasoning. Against better judgement we ordered desserts. Twenty minutes later we were told that they'd run out of what we'd chosen. We shared two portions between four as we were still hungry. Felt sorry for the young waiting team who were clearly overwhelmed. Shall not be returning.

What a great sight it was to see people drinking and eating on a lovely sunny evening in the outside seating area of the Brewers Arms , something I had seen many times before but had previously like so many other things taken for granted. We had booked an inside table. The pub have put in place a one way system where you wait to be seated, we passed at a safe distance people enjoying the lovely evening in the garden patio area at the back of the pub.We were given a warm friendly welcome, the one thing you notice about the Brewers is the space it has with all of the tables spread apart as you would expect. We felt safe and comfortable, it was nice to speak with a couple on a nearby table who like us were so pleased to be out again. The Brewers Arms have come up with an Around the World menu to give people the feel of being abroad which might be different from some of the pictures that have previously been posted. The menu is on the Brewers Arms internet page. With the sun shining into the pub we decided to go for a Spanish Theme with the Tapas, six dishes for £25 with bread for the two of us. There was a good choice, we went for the Potato Fritters, Cod Balls, Meat Balls, Garlic Mushrooms, Blue Cheese Croquettes and Stuffed Peppers followed by cheesecake and a latte. This was really enjoyable, it was a really nice evening. We live in Wanborough, we don't know the owners but when we are out walking we often pass the pub. We have seen them build the takeaway area, we have had several takeaway meals from the same menu as I mentioned above, nothing will ever beat the first burger and fries after lock down but the pie comes a close second. We also saw the owners built covers over the outside tables with a pull down if it rains so people can still be in the fresh air. In these difficult times it is so positive to see how local businesses are doing everything possible to get things going again. The Brewers Arms and all the other businesses deserve our support, we will definitely be back soon.

My annual Christmas get together with the ladies was completely fabulous, after being let down by our local despite booking well in advance - The Brewers Arms pulled out all the stops for us to ensure we had a lovely evening! After finding out that our booking had been cancelled due to “over booking” , I took the recommendation from a family member to come to your pub. I phoned and asked if a Christmas menu was available at such short notice and was advised by a very polite gentleman that they would do their absolute best to provide as many options from their Christmas menu as possible. Well, didn’t they just do that! They had everything we wanted, soup or alternative starters, turkey roast dinners and puddings all round. Amazing atmosphere, delicious food and very generous portions! The staff were very busy however always checked to make sure we had all we needed from drinks, sauces, extra veg and more custard for me! Nothing was too much trouble and I just could not believe how accommodating the staff were considering we hadn’t booked and preordered! Will definitely be returning and will be booking here for works and social gatherings. The waiter / bar man told us all about your future promotions coming and advised us to check social media and your website for more information in January - we are all very intrigued! Decided to take my 3 young grandchildren out for an ice cream/waffle treat. My grandson has a severe dairy allergy so was really pleased that they had 'gluten and dairy free options including a waffle made from soya milk'. It did say to phone before for this option which I tried to do several times before my early afternoon visit, but was unable to speak to anyone. However, on trying to order dairy free ice cream or waffle, I was told they didn't sell it! I explained that their website actually advertised dairy free, to which the response was, 'well you need to phone before, we haven't got any'. Try explaining to a 2 year old after promising him ice cream that actually he can't have any!! The only option was a lolly. We ordered other waffles and ice cream which were OK, waffles were a bit dry. Overall very disappointing that they didn't do dairy free as advertised. It's not a 'fad' when children have allergies, we look for dairy free restaurants for a very good reason.

Not from the area, I needed a venue for a special occasion lunch. Although I had to reschedule the date several times, the staff were amazingly accommodating, positive and flexible. I hired the party room. On arrival all my guests and myself were impressed by the well thought out venue, with pleasant decor and range of seating areas. The party room was a lovely dining room with seating for 18 on a single dining table. This surpassed my expectations. We enjoyed pre-drinks in the garden first and were also able to relax in comfortable chairs outside after eating. The menu is varied, catering for most tastes and the food delightful. An outstanding, family run pub.

We came today (26th Aug - bank holiday Monday!) and expected a long wait, but we were greeted by two lovely girls behind the bar who couldn’t have been more helpful, sat in a little garden area with fab cushions and the food was piping hot, freshly cooked and delicious. The girl who served us (the shorter of the two behind the bar) was genuinely one of the best servers I’ve come across - and no, I don’t know her personally. We’ll definitely be returning to try the waffles and milkshakes!

This place has the possibility to be a gold mine and needs strong management and kitchen to succeed. Problems - takes far too long to get food - we arrived 14.30 and got fed 16.00. 2nd problem - sweet potato fries arrived instead of chips (Why would you not ask someone if they liked them rather than just delivering). Yorkshire puddings were overdone and tasteless. Peas were promised and did not arrive with fish and chips. I could go on but this pub could be fantastic but is currently bordering on mediocrity at best. We went there for my wife's 65th and very very disappointing.

I came to this quaint, chic village pub on a Saturday evening with my friend for some drinks and good food. The staff were very friendly and polite which is a nice change to the usual bartenders elsewhere. I had the Seafood Paella and my friend chose to have the Barbury Duck with mash, both were from the specials board and they were were executed brilliantly. The atmosphere was calm and people were having a good time with a couple of big tables celebrating. The garden area looks like it would be great during the summer, especially with those TV's out back! My Paella had plenty of seafood which i was grateful for and i tried the duck which was very tender also. My favourite part about the visit was the food and service, we would both definitely eat here again.

Quiet, perhaps due to the inaccurate information on their website regarding opening hours, good service but food not so great. So many pies on offer, must be bought in, Moroccan style lamb tagine with couscous - not so much lamb, quite salty, otherwise tasty

How this place got a 5star food hygiene rating? That’s a big question... You are provided plastic cups to use for a watered down juices. That sould be just a small issue, but when you realise that the owner washing these cups and reuse them is just out of order. After realised it we squashed our cups but it looked like it’s ain’t going to stop the owner as the “clean” cups had creases on them so he just make them look better. That is just unbelieveable and unacceptable. Even the sandwiches didn’t look fresh and after the party it just went back to the storage (I bet for future use) Obviously when someone drop their kids they just had to the pub and the kids left on their own and they don’t see all these things. One of the girl been sick the day after the party. She ate a “sandwich” provided, our kids alright as they’re fussy, in this case Thanks God.

We came on a Saturday night and the pub seems to be under new management. The drinks were good but our pies were disappointing. Both were heavy on the pastry and very dry, with a very small pot of chutney and coleslaw on the side. The chunky chips were plentiful and very tasty but we didn't pay for just chips. It's a shame ...

Went here on good Friday booked before as thought it would be busy. Was very very quite. I ordered a vegan burger which came with normal coleslaw and wasn't that great the chips had a funny after taste. I expected a bit more from a pub that was once very good for food.

We went to brewers tonight for a birthday meal and have been going here for years before it was taken into new management. The food came out and my partners fish and chips were excellent -crispy and not greasy but my chicken and gammon pie had no gammon in it. This was resolved quickly and without a fuss by the manager and when it arrived it was worth waiting for! Overall a good experience and the food was amazing

We came yesterday with the family. We were so lucky to find a table outside under the Apple blossom . There were five of us. Plus a puppy of 12 weeks. It worked out really well. We have not been for a long time and were plesently surprised with the new menu. The only reason l have given this review average is because there was only one member behind the bar and took ages to get drinks. Then over an hour for food. So we did wait a while. The food was nice. Vegan pizza really tasty. Salmon was good and the second pizza. The sandwich was ok but rather bland. We did think the bottle of savougion blanc was over priced. We shall come again and try the evening menu.

I visited here on a busy Sunday with family (granted it was Mother’s Day so going to be busy). I had decided to book here as a friend had been a few times recently and pictures showed looked good and she recommended it. I admit I haven’t been to the brewers in years so thought we would give it a try. We ordered starters and I really enjoyed mine of the goats cheese tart it was tasty. Others ordered tomato soup and I didn’t try it but I will be honest looked like Heinz soup nothing special. The roast dinner is good although Yorkshire were flat and rubbery. It appeared that as they was so busy the service had slipped and it took very long between course for plates to be cleared and orders taken for next course. We also had to ask for drinks refills. I would say in all food is worth the price and may come back but it would likely only be if friends suggested coming back. I would like to think that service was only like this due to it being a busy afternoon and would not be like this usually. I really want to give more but I can’t and hope that should I return I can give a better review next time.

Four of us ate here on Sunday lunchtime. When the booking was made it was apparently stated that the full menu would be available but in fact this wasn't the case and a limited Sunday lunch menu was the only one available. My starter of Flat Bread with hummus and tzatziki was first class and delicious but my main course of roast beef was very over cooked. Maybe I should have enquired before ordering if it was rare or well done. The accompanying vegetables were fine. I didn't have a pudding but one of our party had the apple pie and it looked excellent. The staff are very friendly.

Fancying a meal out on a Friday evening, my girlfriend and I opted for the Brewers Arms in Wanborough. Its nice to say that everything about the meal was excellent, the service, the food and the surroundings. I had the chorizo and wild boar pie whilst my girlfriend had the liver and bacon - we were both impressed and duly cleaned our plates!! The waiters and waitresses were attentive without being overbearing and it felt as though all were eager to please. I'd happily go back, as would my girlfriend.

We were not over impressed with the menu at the brewers. Nice atmosphere, nice pub, but we have had better food. Pie was nice, but the accompaniment were very odd. Coleslaw was ok, but should of been chilled, pickle and red onion chutney in the side does not go with chicken and leek pie. Very strange combination. Staff were friendly, desserts very basic, and presentation basic, overall value for money ok, for a pub, but I don’t think the quality matched the price. Sorry, won’t be rushing back.
