Detest all these places! Service is always good due to the fact loads use these places, but I always regret paying even a penny for their coffee! It's almost pot luck as to whether you get a decent coffee...... I only have a flat white in them all and never ever had a consistent product!

The welcome on the Thursday evening was a cold one, and it felt like we were an inconvenience. Maybe because we were the only ones in there. More reason in my eyes to engage and smile. Its sad to see the slow decline of The Poppe. The place is deserted and in need of TLC. The excuses get boring quite frankly and the lack of reviews and cars in the car park is evident. Is there time left to save the pub? Not sure now.

We went for our daughter’s birthday. Three of us ordered beef and one had pork. Our daughter’s pork was fatty and the crackling rubbery. The other three of us had the beef, which was described as rump, but it was largely inedible. None of us could finish the meat. When the waitress came to collect our plates she did not ask us how it was, even though we asked for a doggy bag for the meat. I would have complained but it was our daughter’s birthday and i was asked not to. The pub is great, the drinks are great, the staff are great, and we have eaten there before and the food was good. However, we had three plates of meat that were very poor, i don’t know who the chef was that let them be served. It is not as if its cheap snd sadly we wont be eating there again for Sunday lunch.

What a lovely little bar ! Visited Cheltenham for the first time and found this place to sit down and have a catch up with friends. No music or fruit machines meant we could chat and actually hear each other, which was a nice change. To then find it had a wide range of Sam Smiths beers and excellent food as well was a bonus !

The reviews were pretty polarised so I wasn't sure what to expect but went with an open mind. The owner/server was very friendly and welcoming and it was clear that he has a lot of regular customers. The restaurant and bathroom were a bit grubby: the chairs have fabric covers that could do with a wash and whilst the tables were clean the menus were sticky; everything in the bathroom was slightly dusty. The food was really very good: decent sized portions for a fair price and very tasty. The coffee was overly hot and lacking flavour. TV in the café is a bit odd but I suppose good if you're there alone, it's on quiet so not intrusive. Do not confuse with Bakehouse 24 which is a few hundred metres down the road.

Such an amazing warm friendly pub, Nice old british feel about the place which is rare to find nowadays with most pubs being very "modern" the staff are very friendly and will help you with anything, Karoke happens every weekend which is a great laugh, I would definitely recommend coming here, Great people, cheap beer & great laughs what more could you want 😀
