When Debenhams changed the style of it's cafe offering, they seemed to have really taken it up market. Standards, particularly those of the staff, had rocketed and although I reckon a lot of folks wouldn't have liked the improvements (old habits die hard), I and many others did.Unfortunately the honeymoon period has clearly passed and this visit was less that satisfactory.Tables littered when we arrived, checkout system slow and food no longer quite as classy as it previously has been.Ordering soup and a jacket potato, we took our seats and waited on it's arrival. After about 10 minutes, the buzzer flashed (they use an electronic table ID system) and we waited expectently for the food to arrive. Nothing! Thinking that perhaps they had changed the system and we should go back to collect it, I headed to the till point. Could see both items sitting under the heat lights but was advised that it would be brought over.Returning, we seemed to wait for ages before the Baked Potato arrived. Putting it down, the waitress advised me that my wife's soup would be following. I was about halfway through my meal as she passed us with two more baked potatoes for another table. Almost finished my meal, the soup finally arrived - along with appologies for the delay. The baked potato was packed with filling but frankly, was mildly warm rather than hot whereas my wife did say her soup was very hot (maybe it was thanks to the time under the heat lights). The salad accompanying it was poor and really only represented compliance with a menu description, certainly not adding to the value of the meal.A real disappointment which left me feeling that Debenhams have allowed their cafe to begin to sink to the depths of the old one which would be a real shame.

The lady in the till wasn't very nice. After telling us they run out of pasta and chicken, she gets upset because we didn't think in a second option straight away and took us an extra minute to order an alternative. We just ate here because it was already late for the kids, we assume the food is not great but at least we expect a good service to compensate the quality. And btw, how can they run out of anything being a supermarket?????

This is our local Costa and we don't normally use a café so close to home, but it was raining, so we took a break and a coffee here. It is just as any Costa Coffee should be, predictable but reliable. They were cleaning even the ceiling lamps when we were there, so they must take cleanliness seriously, even though some tables needed to be cleared. Happy to come back again when it rains.

I was at the venue upstairs for a business meeting and have to say that Emma was the most helpful person I have come across for a long time. Emma could not have done more to help me with all sorts of issues around access, IT, etc. Thank you very much Emma. She was also flexible about closing times and put herself out to accommodate our meeting. I have to rate her as 100% helpful. Thank you

Just a flying visit for a takeaway coffee on a busy Saturday, but what a lovely team. 3 young people who were so friendly, welcoming and polite. Really lifted the place. Well done!

This review is regarding the George Street caffe, the hygiene of the outside area is unacceptable, customers pay a premium when having the coffee in, the seating area outside smells of urine and has not been disinfectant or clean for sometime, when complained to the staff they refused to clean it and promised they will be clean at the end of the night, when we returned, nothing had been changed, I as a customer showed them how easy it was to To clean, the male member of staff really had can’t do won’t do attitude. However, when one member of staff offered me a complimentary coffee, the male member of staff stopped Emily from giving it to me this was absolutely disgusting.. when I emailed head office, they apologised and said that this was not there standard, they didn’t even offer me a token or gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience and time taken! It’s amazes me how the staff were happy to let customers sit there in the filth and grim and smell, I even bought some cleaning products so they can clean it there and then as their excuse was the cleaning products was not strong enough to remove the dirt, insulting my intelligence this also needs to be addressed how to deal with customers this is not acceptable

I live here and go in occasionally for an iced bun and a cup of tea if I have time to kill. Yesterday I noticed how dirty and shabby everything was and how grumpy the staff were. Not at all welcoming. The place needs a good clean and a makeover. Out of interest I looked up their hygiene rating and it is 1.

Have visited this spot many times over the years and had some truly great seafood - carabineros, wonderfully crisp Fritto Misto etc but visited today to find the place unrecognizable. Hand written limited menu and the execution was awful. Limp battered muscles and terrible quality (looked like frozen) prawns which has been flash fried. I would have expected better from a fish and chip van. This place used to have massive queues but I can only assume that the staff or owners have changed because the quality has disappeared.

Left Heidi's in Daniels after awful service, would not recommend Heidi's in Daniels. Came to Starbucks and we had allergies/intolerance amongst our group. We asked the waiter about a product and he called over the manager(?) who was so helpful, we really appreciated it. We had paninis, toasted sandwiches, muffins and slices of cake - all were really good aswell as the drinks. Staff were friendly.

A very nice location but such a shame that the staff are uninterested and frankly, rude. It spoils the experience……………….

Whilst shopping in the Milbrook Garden Centre, we called in for a drink. The last time we were here, dogs were not welcome (although they are welcome throughout the rest of the garden centre). This has now changed because the cafe now has its a dog friendly room. There's a good choice of drinks and snacks.
