Billie's Cafe in Brighton and Hove

What a fantastic surprise Billie's is! We absolutely loved our delicious mushroom and avocado hash Pot of tea , salad, water and hash shared between too.1£18! Stunning!

Greeted with the most beautiful smile from Emily, enough to brighten entire universe! Food is perfect Respect 4D Chef!

Paid over £15 for a meat breakfast and a bottle of water and to be honest left over well over half of it. Will never revisit again, pretty awful fare.

Stumbled across this place on my way to the station and, with time to kill, popped in. Wish I hadn't. Over-cooked eggs, two measly slices of streaky bacon which were almost brittle, beans in a ramekin (🙄), however the sausages were tasty. Tea and toast and it came it at an eye-watering £12-odd. I'd wince at those prices back in London, but then this is Hoxton-on-Sea. Charming enough staff, but the nudge to get you to tip when you pay by card having just been charged so much left a bitter taste.

After a raining dog walk I landed at Billie's Cafe to receive the worst bacon sandwich I had ever had fatty very little bacon. Not a pleasant experience... could do better.

Good coffee served lukewarm. Food served good also lukewarm. Server was a male and friendly but inept. The woman was more efficient. At point of payment male server asked for a tip. We had not yet sampled the food or drink. The highlight was there was a sign attached to the tip jar: please help our parents think we are Barristers.

Bad bad bad rude American member of stuff Ordered coffee for my family on Saturday morning 15 th October . Waited 35 mins still no coffees members of staff were extremely rude to me and my family when asking if our coffee was on the way I ordered them and asked 4 times as we never got the coffees in the end . the American girl came out with coffees after 35 mins with a terrible attitude yelling saying I don’t have to give you the coffee now as you have now been refunded. I was disgusted the way she spoke to my mum and my brother we left . What a disgusting place . Please will the manger or owner respond to this bad bad stuff no manners no service worse place I’ve ever been . Billies hove station .

Attentive staff & well cooked, proper food with sensible waiting times. Nice and relaxed, almost nostalgic environment and a great location as not too far from the station. The waitress who served me was particularly kind and showed real attention to detail. May I also mention the place felt very clean! Definitely going to revisit when the opportunity arises.

I ate here at the weekend and the service was excellent. I had a proper, big and tasty full english breakfast and will definitely be back to try their famous hashes! Highly recommend.

After 14 years popping in. I won't anymore. The famous hash is now 30 % smaller. Nearly £11 Comes with fatty streaky bacon youd find in a garage sandwich, where it used to be back. I don't believe any back bacon available on THE normal breakfasts either ) Staff good and decent coffee but not for me ( or MY gf )

Has a interesting menu and a decent reputation, sadly the Sausage and bacon sandwich put in front of me was just plain nasty,North of £5 and close to inedible. Hungry, but I barely touched it. Bread belonged in the bin and the contents tepid. This is basic stuff and beyond disappointing. Local, but I’ll not be going back.

Was really looking forward to a famous hash after being before, but on arrival was allowed to sit down, peruse the menu and when ready to order was told the kitchen had stopped serving at 12 on a Saturday! Was then made to feel slightly uncomfortable drinking our coffees as the place was empty so got them in takeaway cups and went off somewhere else

To be fair the staff told me that as they were busy my order would be about 30 minutes. I ordered jumbo breakfast with no bacon. Was told that is good as they had run out of bacon anyway. When it arrived the sausages were overcooked and the eggs were burned on the bottom. They didn't ask if I wanted brown or white toast but even then it was served with no butter and none at table For £12.95 including the OJ I expected a lot better

Went to billies Hove for the first time today. Breakfast was cooked to perfection, scrambled eggs were amazing. The team working were super friendly and were always cleaning between customers. Menu is huge, definitely something for everyone! and prices are really reasonable, can’t wait to go back! Thank you xx

We love going to Billie’s and will try their other venue after this experience as the food really is fantastic, just wish they could get the basics of decent service in the Hove location. There are not many tables inside and leaving 3 uncleared while people queue outside is frustrating. To then finally clean them but have the waitress open the door just to walk past and ignore everybody is simply bad business. When asked if the waiting people could enter the reply was flippant and we ended up getting our own menu’s and ordering at the till, not great in the current climate. I spoke to the waitress at the till about the poor service and she handled it beautifully only to have the other waitress snap at me that they had been really busy. Totally sympathise, but it doesn’t excuse service that changes a treat into a family wishing they’d stayed at home!
