Have visited this spot many times over the years and had some truly great seafood - carabineros, wonderfully crisp Fritto Misto etc but visited today to find the place unrecognizable. Hand written limited menu and the execution was awful. Limp battered muscles and terrible quality (looked like frozen) prawns which has been flash fried. I would have expected better from a fish and chip van. This place used to have massive queues but I can only assume that the staff or owners have changed because the quality has disappeared.

Promises a lot with an exiting menu and they warm you about the seaside thieves from the sky. Delivers stodge batter, inedible crab, and appalling fries. £33 in a beach bin, even the gulls left it.

They serve food in dirty boxes!! When collecting the order all boxes had thick dark dust/dirt on the outside as if they were stored somewhere outside on the floor. When I asked why they are so dirty she answered "they all are" and showed me other dirty boxes, not ashamed at all. You are selling food here not toys so hygiene should be a must!! Yay, great to serve food in such "clean" boxes. I was sooo tempted to leave it there and ask for a refund but we travelled from far and were hungry the fish inside looked edible, The fish was overcooked in a dark butter, and most was then fed to seagulls on the beach. AVOID this place too expensive and zero hygiene, served by an inexperienced young staff that doesn't care.

Shocking , paid just under 40 quid for 2 x half lobster and chips and quite frankly it’s the worse thing Iv tried to eat , won’t be around too long and hope it’s not a knock on affect for wyatt and Jones .

Broadstairs is awash with fish and chip shops and cafes, but ‘Flotsam and Jetsam’ is definitely a cut above the rest! Take-away only, but an unusual, delicious seafood menu. We had soft-shelled crabs, oysters, monkfish in squid-ink batter, crab dumplings, popcorn mussels and home-made chips. All super-fresh, yummy, served with tasty sauces and friendly smiles. It’s possible to also buy wine, beer and soft drinks - and the sands are three meters away. Just perfect.

Great pub, great views, but food sadly a let down. I had a cheese sandwich, (specifically asked for sliced rather than grated cheese) expecting freshly cut cheese, not cheese pre-cut cheese slices. The accompanying salad garnish was diced cucumber, peppers, leaves etc - more suitable for a salsa. I could do a better sandwich and garnish at home. When I have visited previously the sandwiches were fantastic, thick slices of cheese and nicely sliced salad garnish, making the dish look presentable and appetising. I didn’t take any photos as the lunch looked very unappealing, but should have for review purposes. Sadly, as I have had two disappointing lunches here recently, I won’t be returning again.

Sunday roast beef lunch was excellent and at a very reasonable price. Coupled with a friendly and welcoming staff, made this a very pleasant experience.

We went into this little cafe to enquire about whether they could cater for my coeliac son, to which they could. And a bonus as it is also dog friendly. We sat down and menus were promptly brought to us. Our drink order was taken very quickly. We asked for a burger for my son, to be told he wouldn't be able to have the chips as they contained wheat but he could have extra salad, he agreed. The food arrived and it did not disappoint. My 2 year old enjoyed her food and my sons burger was brought out on gluten free bread, which he had asked for. The burgers were freshly made. Overall, good price for what we had. My dog even got a water bowl.

It took 45 minutes to serve me a jacket potatoe with cheese, the place wasn't even busy. No dressing on the salad as specified on menu, I asked the lady that delivered it to me if she could please get me some and didn't. I went to the counter and was left waiting for 5 mins for the salad dressing until I complained my food was getting cold and it eventually materialised. Have visited 3 times , never a good experience, scruffy, tables never cleaned, tea served in nasty thick mug with Teabag just left in it, staff don't care, slow inattentive. Last visit for me.
