Tesco Cafe in Thanet

We came here for breakfast and it was lovely. Food was cheap but still very nice. Coffee was also very nice considering it’s a supermarket caffe. Food came within 5 minutes of ordering. Will definitely come again

Came in for breakfast me me partner and her dad food was absolutely shocking and token 45 minutes to come no apology for this friend bread was like rocks mushroom didn't taste right bacon was microwaved staff was rude never even said sorry for the wait will not be using them again and advise others not to.

Food is quality and speed of food delivery is fast. But unfortunate the staff are not attentive or helpful. I visited recently in my wheelchair with my grandson. My wife and I need a high chair for our grandson. But unfortunately there were none at the entrance. My wife whilst carrying our grandson hand to carry one from the other side of the restaurant to where we were sitting. As it is easier to use my chair nearer to the entrance Staff just watch this without offering any assistance. My eye sight is poor and so I managed to knock my drink spilling it all over our table. My wife walked to the kitchen and acquired some paper roll to clear up and took the wet roll back to the kitchen when finished. The staff directed her to a bin to dispose of, but offered no assistance, even though they witnessed the entire event. Lastly when our food arrived, we asked for salt and pepper and was pointed toward the nearest condiments. Just to rebuff Women with baby accompanied by man in wheelchair. All in all, service very poor. Real shame, our first visit was met by a bearded gentleman who was excellent. Help with ordering screens seating, high chair and kept checking. Bring him back please!! The other two women are useless

Firstly like to say thank you for helping me get round the system of ordering food was getting in a right pickle till the chap came and helped ( 15/5/25 stock 9.5am, food hot and tasty, clean and service excellent my first vist and was impressed will be calling again 😃

10k a year spent in tesco and I can’t swap my toast for mushroom in the cafe. I ordered on their new screens and removed the toast from the breakfast with expectation that it would be replaced by another item. When our food arrived I noticed that this hadn’t happened and when I asked I was told that this is how it is because upper management had said so. He said he could take the food away and give me a refund if I wasn’t happy. I know I shouldn’t expect much from a supermarket cafe but this was appalling customer service. Left rather shocked and considering switching my weekly shop to Sainsbury’s

I have been to over 100 cafes in the past few years. Tesco cafe in Margate has better food and coffee for a great price than any cafe in London hands down. Fast and friendly service couldn’t recommend more!

Well……what can I say about the new layout? Nothing positive unfortunately. My mum chose Tesco Café to eat for Mother’s Day as she really loves the food, the coffee and the friendliness of the staff. We didn’t realise that it had been ‘done up’ and now when you order food etc you have to use a screen instead of talking to the staff. This really limits the choices you can make. Unfortunately, I have dietary issues and previously I could swop items in the breakfast to others but now you can’t do this. You can remove things and add others but obviously there is an extra charge for this and the choices are limited. The children’s meals seem to have shrunk as well. Two chicken goujons and about six chips is pushing it even for kids. Two of our group wanted to order a cappuccino but now you can’t change how many shots of coffee they put in. I don’t really understand why when a human is making the coffee and they used to do it before no problem, but they were quite clear a small cappuccino is one shot and a large is two shots and they can’t change that. One of our group didn’t bother and the other had extra milk but it was still too strong and just made it colder. The screens will make it much more difficult for the older generation, not everyone knows how to use these, and even though there were staff around to help, a lot of older people will still struggle. Plus, you can only pay by card which excludes some of the population who prefer cash. One of the staff told us they are aiming at younger people but in doing so they will alienate a lot of the older generation, who don’t like technology and paying by card. Not sure how they think this will work when younger people are at work, college etc all week and most of the day, and I would think the vast majority of their clientele would be older people popping into Tesco to get a few bits then going for lunch. The only positive thing is that the staff are still very friendly even when they have unhappy customers moaning and groaning about everything. I think people are voting with their feet as usually the café is quite busy but on Sunday it was practically empty. We used to love the food and cappuccino’s in here but after Sunday we will not be going in there again…….ever!

Love the new layout Ordered poached eggs on toast? Could you please poach them properly not in one of those poacher pans they were hard and awful, picture on the order machine will give you an idea of what they are supposed took like

Really great waffle fries! Ham and cheese toastie only lightly toasted unfortunately, so a bit more like a warm sandwich, served by very helpful and friendly Cal, really unexpectedly good service from them!

I'd like to say how polite and welcoming your staff are... a special comment to a lady called hayley. She was run off her feet but stopped to ask if everything was OK. I think she is a new member of staff but she deserves a big shout out. Hospitality can be really hard and she just seemed so happy and great out the front. The breakfast was so good! Amazing value for money.... n needed before the big food shop chore.... Well done tesco!!!! We will be back next week

We have often had lunch here and it has always been great. Today was different mainly due to a very unhelpful miserable woman serving! She gave the impression she would rather be somewhere else! Food was OK but not great.

Only came in for a coffee, I ordered one of the new seasonal lattes and was served by a lovely young man with glasses. He was so pleasant and smiley, he didn’t stop the whole time I was there! And the coffee was delicious. I will definitely be back

Came in on a Wednesday lunch time, the place must be shockingly short staffed as the cafe was half full but every single table that was free had dirty plates on etc. I had to sit on a table that had cleaning materials on, the staff was pleasant enough but clearly need more staff. It was mistake coming here and wouldn't come again.

Serious lack of staff food was OK although could he better for the price.

Updated - I go in here for coffees now only. The coffee I cannot fault, every time it’s delicious and never too hot/burned. Foam is perfect. For the coffee mainly and kids options it’s gone up in stars. enjoy yourself a reheated tescos own stale ciabatta. £4.75 - may as well go to the hot bit by the meal deals. sorry about this to the staff though, they were lovely.

Was very good love eating here the staff are always friendly and helpful and the food is always delicious would recommend to others.

Food is reasonably priced, although we have now been waiting 45 minutes! Food was ok, although still hungry as portion size isn't great. Felt sorry for the chef who seemed to be rushing around doing everything. Should've gone to Nandos!

I have now spoke to the manager and got this resolved very quickly the way he got this done I would give 5* for the way this situation was handled I would give no stars so lucky they got one They say all kids are welcome and they cater for allergies but they don't I went to get my son a kids meal deal pick mix one and asked it they could make him a sandwich without Marge and got told not under any circumstances can they do that.

Went for breakfast at the Tesco cafe Westwood x It's dreadful staff are rude food was microwaved toast was burnt wen I asked lovely member of staff to take it away she told the manager and he was very rude to her asking her why she bought the food to him I told him the sausage was hard toast was burnt all I ate was the beens and tomato as I was hungry he asked me if wanted another one I was so shocked I just said no thinking he would offer a refund but he just walked off leaving the waiting staff to apologise to me I will never ever go in there again on principle this wasn't the first time my food taste disgusting and I've been going in there for a few years

Coffee is ok on a good day, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend eating here🙃 Have ordered a few things at different times, and every time it wasn’t good. Cold/slimy/burnt etc. Barista wears false nails and jewellery, and the aprons are worn on breaks? Not brilliant😬

This has to be the worst breakfast I have had ...hard toast ..soggy hash browns ..bacon tough .took one bite ..most of the items on plate didn't taste fresh or have flavour except leaving me with a horrible after taste of old cooking oil .. won't be back 😌

A good cup of coffee, can't say the same about the music...

We waited over an hour for our food. We asked after about 40 mins and they said it was on its way. After an hour they said they had messed up and someone was putting the orders in the kitchen the wrong way round so the newest were getting done first and oldest were getting left. The manager gave us a refund as we had to wait so long then when the food came out after about 70 mins the waiting staff said that we shouldn't have it as we had a refund and we had to explain that the refund was a gesture of good will due to how long we waited. I had ordered the fish goujon wrap. It tasted nice but it was just a wrap on a plate, nothing else with it. No side salad, not a few crisps or chips. It was just a disappointing experience all round. I won't eat here again.

The food and coffee is amazing. The brunches is what I usually visit for. The offers and prices really give it all a nice twist. Love, love, love this place.

I am absolutely disgusted with the service here the staff were miserable as sin messed up order was rude when asking about the kids meal we were waiting on just generally obnoxious and we paid around the 45 quid mark for all of that

Friendly service, CoVid distancing maintained. Very surprised by good quality of meal(especially at the September halfprice rate) - Chunky Chips were golden, crisp on outside, soft centred and served in container . 10 pieces of crispy scampi with choice of mushy or garden peas, Tartre sauce served in separate bowl. Portion size seemed generous. I arrived at 12 when seemed quiet, got busy later especially with tesco staff popping in for lunch break. Meal arrived within few minutes, v. Hot.

Decided to try here for a breakfast before having a little shop around, was pleasantly surprised. Got here early when only a couple of tables in. Quick and easy ordering, friendly. Nice latte and a tasty little breakfast. Surprised to find out that they are doing 50% through September so all in all a little treat to start the day. Got busy before we left so timed it just right.

We have been here a few times, it's reasonable in price, the food is ok, the cleanliness isn't the best, most of the time the tables are dirty and left with used dishes.

Visited today for a quick brunch in between my appointments. Very friendly staff. They were apologetic that they didn't have any gluten free bread so I could have some toast but did however suggest some items on the menu that I could eat instead. Very filling, cheap, and good value for money. Made even better by the Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

I’m really surprised to see this restaurant with such low ratings, I have visited here a few times for breakfast and have to say it is extremely good value for money and the food is decent. The hot drinks on offer are quite varied and there is a variety of breakfasts and lunches including hot food, the staff are always friendly and it has always been busy when I’ve visited. I was thoroughly impressed with avocado and tomatoes on toast for £2.95! There are vegan options and you can also use your club card.

Two breakfasts,one small,one large,reasonable value. The cafe was dirty,old used tables not cleared for ages. There was also a bucket collecting water from the leaky roof,that was repaired from this Spring. The food,sausages burned,bacon tough,hash browns soaking in oil,and not enough toast,or butter for it.

No review could give a true insight to the delights that behold this eatery. So I took a photo, and you can judge for yourself. I can only thank Tesco for selling 3-ply toilet paper and extra strong air freshener.

I enjoyed the food and staff were very nice, but I do miss the all you can eat breakfast

Disgusting service chef needs to get some manners

I have to be honest it is not much different to the previous Café called Decks, the menu was not very appealing. I ordered a panini and one side was uncooked, cold air conditioning overhead made tea and food cold, not sure I would go back. :(

Over priced for the amount of food you get. The carvery very stingy with portion sizes. There needs to be more than one chef serving at a time. The plates for children to have a normal sized meal are far too small. I would not children in there again. One family left soon after they sat down. I am sure there are better food outlets close by who offer better value and better choice!

The place is shut down now, was not too good any way, staff not great, food average, ITS SHUT... Shut Shut.....

What a poor excuse for a restaurant! Cold food, poor service, dirty cutlery. The coffee was ok. The whole place could do with a deep clean including the staff. Never again.

Decided to pop in for a cold drink... big mistake. One machine was broken and the lady told us we couldn`t have diet coke just regular coke. We should have read the signs then and just left, but we were thirsty, so got the drinks,...

This is the eating place in Tesco at the Westwood shopping centre. I have eaten there twice and will not go again. It is dirty, the food is awful, and it looks unkempt. There are plenty of other good cafes in this area so choose...

Can't say much apart from the food was dire and the cafe area in need of a good clean. You get a strong smell of the rank toilets which are close to the cafe, and boy are the loo's in this Tesco Extra bad, some...

This is a supermarket cafe and so should reflect that in their prices but strangely they do not. This is a very expensive place to have a bite to eat or drink, and the surroundings are basic to poor and not as clean as one...

Popped in for afternoon treat. Cheerful & prompt service. Tea & coffee to our liking. Opted for pre-wrapped biscuit choice though as cakes looked a bit dry - have seen better.

Have been her a couple of times, never very much choice, and what is there is not particularly good, also I feel for the choice and quality, very overpriced not recommended.

I will never buy anything from Tesco. It`s nasty, and cheap, and the same can be said of the food, which no doubt they use in the cafe. We were shopping just over the road, and I needed the toilet quite desperately, so rushed over...

Coffee was nice flavour but luke warm breakfast was awful. wont be going back.
