Enjoyed the new Sunday roast menu and the roast beef was amazing. We have a child who is coeliac and they catered unbelievably well for her. We have such trouble wherever we go and her not having a mass selection to eat but they catered just for her. A wonderful country pub, with a lovely atmosphere.

Myself and two former colleagues agreed to meet up for an evening meal on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. One was travelling 25 miles from Bromley; the other from Crawley and myself from Reigate. We checked on the website which confirmed the kitchen was open on Tuesday evenings. Unfortunately, on arrival at 7.15pm, we found this not to be the case. The kitchen was closed and there was no chef available. The courteous staff explained it had been quiet on Mondays and Tuesday lately so a decision had been made not to serve food in the evenings. I said the website said it would be open. There were more apologies. Sadly we left this cosy pub and enjoyed a great meal at the Star down the road.

Was really looking forward to a lovely day out and picnic. But they are not as sweet as their strawberries! There was nothing on their website about no picnics, so when got there was shocked to find that there is a no picnic rule! The situation could have been handled well by staff, but when aproached by a female staff member we were told that we could go and sit behind an old shed in the car park, or in the strawberry field (where you are not allowed to also eat) where no one would see us. Because apparently if ANYONE saw us having a small picnic on the grass then EVERYONE who saw us would suddenly want to bring picnics! I really thought this was a community place, but we were told in their own words that they only care about making money. So when we offered to buy things in the cafe we were told this was still not ok. Rude staff as well. On website said not gluten free kitchen so what are the gluten free people meant to do about food!? Eat the grass!? Overpriced cakes and tea. Do not recommend!!

Service very good. Food so so. I had full English with poached eggs. Hash Brown's very good. Eggs cold. Bacon hard. Tea bag left in the tea cup - which was OK- but nowhere to put it. Pancakes - 3 - came with 3 fried eggs which was a surprise.

I visit pret in Horsham on a regular basis and really enjoy my experiences there. The ladies in there are so welcoming especially Mihaela and Olivia who always go out of their way to make my visit comfortable. They always say hello and goodbye and always ask how my day is going. Very polite workers and will def carry on visiting

Spent a few hours studying here. Cafe was comfortable and relaxed with friendly staff. Both the food and drink was a decent quality, the summer menu was particularly good.

As a member this golf club thay cannot do enough to make my visits a joy. They are friendly and welcoming to me and my guests. The breakfast was excellent value and perfect. Ignore any poor reviews and make this a place to visit.

Service slow and concerns about hygiene. One person serving to start, the food a drink took some time even though they were not busy. The food was not heated properly bacon cold. I am not sure the staff have had any food handling traing. When people asked for cutlery they passed it by holding the eating end would suggest holding in napkin. The cake display had smears all over it and the cakes looked stale.

We love truffles, our go to sandwich shop for baps, rolls and treats, they make a mean chicken mayo bap and the cakes are delish!! We had all sorts from there today for lunch and it was all perfect. Thanks ladies!!!

Popped in on a stormy Saturday with my two children and my sister for a quick bite to eat. The young girl serving was polite and smiley but it ended there. This place is like walking into a cafe run by the Adam’s Family. The owners do everything they can to strip happiness from the atmosphere. An older lady who I presume is the owner/manager took us through to a room at the back. She didn’t smile once and visibly scowled at the boys who were rolling a ball across the table to each other. She started off by asking us if we’d be doing one bill or 2 ‘because it’s easier to do it separately’ before we’d even ordered anything! She was rude and sounded fed up when taking our order, rolling her eyes. My son then went to look at some of the interesting things in glass cabinets and the man / owner commented ‘no grubby fingers on the glass’ - I don’t know if he was trying to be funny but from the general child-hating aura in the air, I’d say he meant it. Food arrived and paninis were nothing special. My 3 year old was brought his chocolate brownie which had stupidly been heated up and was piping hot inside which would have certainly burnt his tongue if I hadn’t tried it first. My sister’s flat white was just an overly milky sloppy coffee. This place should invest in a sign on the door warning ‘No Children’, it really would have saved us and them the hassle of a terrible visit. AVOID AT ALL COSTS unless of course you hate children too.

Birthday meal: The location is lovely in the hamlet of Dragons Green. Characteristic vintage pub with a new restaurant in the brilliant barn extension. It was the first time they were using the well decorated barn as a restaurant. The food we ate was the Sunday roasts. It was decent but there wasn’t enough food. They looked short staffed and the two waitresses were extremely busy. Our desserts took an hour to come, and considering they are pre-made and heated in the microwave for 20 seconds, it was far too long. We were served chocolate icecream with our sticky toffee pudding and the apple crumble was dumped on the plate upside down. When you’re paying £7 for dessert and £17 for dinner it’s quite expensive. I wouldn’t rush back, there are better alternatives.
