Beware - on leaving the pub on a Saturday evening a large dog attacked me, this occurred without even making eye contact with the owner or the dog. The dog continuously was biting the sleeve of my coat. Luckily it was only my coat and not my arm the dog was biting. No apology was received by the dog owner sat around the bar, or the staff working at the time. For anyone entering especially with young children please be careful as I believe the dog owner is a regular customer. Apart from that, good atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks. *EDIT* Owners have been intouch and have insured this issue would not happen again, thank you. 2 stars to 4 stars.

OMG! I think I've just died and gone to food heaven! ❤️❤️❤️ You have to try their food, it's amazing. We had the small dishes that are marketed as around the world in 18 dishes. We like to think of them as Tapas. We ordered 3 little dishes each, they are a bargain at £16.50 for 3 and very filling. Between the 5 of us we've tried most of the 18 dishes between us. My favourites are the Greek Salad (yeah, I know, how can a salad be a favourite? But honestly, you need to try this one!) Jamaican Butternut Squash curry, which comes with 3 dumplins which are the most delicious thing I've ever had the pleasure to put in my mouth! A bit like a sweet scone with a crusty shell. And the Mozambique prawns, which just melt in your mouth. I was too full to try the puddings, but if the savory are anything to go by, I bet they are amazing too. Next time... I really can't fault their food, complements to your chef!

There were other food choices on the menu, including a tempting fish and chips, but we all opted for the Sunday lunch, on offer was pork or beef or a mixture of the two as well as a vegetarian/vegan option. The open fire made everyone very comfortable, great seating options for young and old, getting some out of the comfy sofa's was an issue at the end of the afternoon, great spread of food, tea and coffee provided for those that didn't wish or require the bar. We also used the TV to show a photograph slide show. I loved the back ground music to add and we really enjoyed gathering to remember my father on this sad day but the staff and owners made it a pleasure to be in their pub. Many Thanks

We had Sunday lunch here. There is a good sized menu with everything from light snacks, to two different roast options and a good choice of puddings too. There were three of us, we had drinks including some alcohol and two courses each and it came in at around £15 each which is great value for money. The food was excellent and the lady serving us was lovely, despite having the most awful cold she was chatty and smiley. It is not the smartest pub in the world and could have done with a bit more heating in the dining area as we were a little chilly but otherwise we were very happy. There is ample parking to the rear of the pub along with a patio seating area which is also used for smokers in the colder weather. I highly recommend this pub.

My wife and I, whilst enroute home, decided to stop off in the small village of Storrington for lunch. We happened across The Anchor Inn, a small pub on the main street with a car park to the rear.Bearing in mind it was a Monday we did not expect to find it crowded and indeed it wasn't. None the less we were cordially greeted and seated. I am guessing the restaurant part of the pub could seat some 40 or so diners and it struck me as being a little dark but to be fair it was a dismal weather day outside and that certainly did not help.We were presented with a menu whilst our drinks were ordered and essentially it was wholesome pub food very reasonably priced. The menu, and specials board, did not give a very wide choice but the nevertheless was more than adequate. When served at the table, the food was well presented, hot and very tasty and quite filling. All in all, I would certainly call in again when passing because I felt the food was exceptionally good value for money and we could not fault the standard of service. Please remember, it is not a 5 star restaurant but if you require a good quality basic meal you could do an awful lot worse.

This was our first time at this pub/restaurant. We were seated quickly and served drinks right away (no ginger beer though!).The menu was fairly standard and of reasonable prices.Considering the dishes we had ordered and the few people eating, it took an inordinate amount of time for the main course to arrive. When it did it looked as though somebody with no cooking ability, let alone a chef, had filled the plate. We will not bother again.

Me and two of my pals, 3 locals of the village who often go to the anchor, decided we would like to play some pool and not drink alcohol and just drink soft drinks tonight as we all had to attend college early tomorrow. We walked in, in high spirits but straight away we were being stared down by one of the bar staff with a stretcher. Within 30 seconds of us being in there he marched over and asked us if we wanted any drinks. We replied “yes, 3 orange juice and lemonades please,” aggressively he snapped “if you aren’t drinking any ******* alcohol, get out.” We tried to explain how we weren’t drinking because off college tomorrow but he didn’t want to hear it and escorted off the premises, not even allowing us to finish our game of pool which we paid for.
