I was made to feel welcome from check-in to check-out and everything in between. The shower in the room worked without requiring any fiddeling, and the hot water temperature was perfect!! Thank you for a peaceful and welcoming stay.

Lovely hotel and very accomadating as we had a wedding to get to earlier than check in

We were lucky enough to celebrate my wife's special birthday at the Roundabout Hotel. We took the 'whole hotel' package which gave us the run of this fabulous and unique location for us and our 80 guests. Andy and Sue made the entire process from planning to execution very easy and they and their friendly professional staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food was delicious, the various rooms ranged from comfortable to absolutely fabulous and this unique setting in the West Sussex countryside made the whole day very special. Thank you Andy, Sue and the entire 'Team Roundabout' !

One year ago we booked the Roundabout Hotel for friends and family to stay after my Daughters wedding yesterday. When my Daughter rang last year she was told “ she would get a better deal for everyone as we had nearly booked the entire hotel. “ We were told that we could not do a group booking, that everyone had to ring separately and book their own rooms. When i called up I booked two double rooms for one night and was told that the cost was £229.00 per night, so two rooms were £458.00. We arrived at the hotel after the wedding which was one mile up the road around 11.30pm. There was no member of staff onsite and we found out that there is nobody onsite after 11pm, so we felt quite unsafe. The hotel was very tired and there was a 4 centimetre step up into the bathroom which was very dangerous, if you woke in the night and tripped you could bang your head on the basin opposite. Our room was quite clean and the bed comfortable but you could hear the people talking in the next room, just like they were inside the same room as us. Also there were no toiletries as advertised. Came down for breakfast to find out that it was just a continental breakfast and if you wanted cooked it was £13 extra! We paid £229 per room for one night, but looked online and average price is £99.00. For a comparison I tried to book another night for tonight which is a bank holiday weekend and I could book it for £109.00. In my opinion because they knew it was a wedding they charged us an extra £120.00 EXTRA per room.

Stayed at the Roundabout Hotel after a wedding no one on duty at 11pm to show us rooms. I was in an annexe courtesy bus driver helped me. Rooms dated but clean. No cooked breakfast unless you paid £14 a disgrace. Many of the wedding guest stayed at this hotel £169 for a shabby single room double more. Prices high as they charge more if going to the local Wedding venue. Wonderful wedding day but disappointing Hotel. I would not recommend this hotel.

Paid £220 for a very mediocre experience here. Dated interiors, dusty rooms and an uncomfortable bed. Would’ve probably been considered a 4 star hotel in 2002 but now it’s just sad. Would stay in a Travelodge for half the price any day of the week.

Stayed here for the night after my sister’s wedding in the area. After spending £220 for a room for one night, I was expecting a 5 star experience. Unfortunately, it was an extremely underwhelming and sub par experience. The room was very dated and not the cleanest, the bed was rock hard, you could hear next door so clearly as there didn’t seem to be any sound proofing, the hot water in the shower was intermittent, the breakfast was basic and didn’t include any warm food (also rubbish if you’re a vegan). I arrived at 11:30pm due to the wedding and there was no night porter so had no clue where my room was. I had to spend ages searching the building and its grounds. Everyone in the wedding party who stayed seemed to have a similar experience. Even a printed out room map for us would have helped, but the owner clearly couldn’t be bothered to go the extra mile. I also had to give the kettle from my room to a family member as there was no kettle in their room and they needed to warm up my nieces milk (she’s only a baby). What shocked me the most was the fact I have now seen the usual price for a room in this hotel is £100 per night!!! As soon as the owner knew a wedding party was staying, the prices were doubled. Considering so much business was brought to the owner by my sister, you’d think he wouldn’t let his greed take over. I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying in this hotel unless you have no other option. I have paid less than £220 a night and stayed in much nicer hotels with better breakfast/facilities. I don’t think any guest who stayed left satisfied which speaks for itself really.

I stayed in this wonderful place for two weeks whilst working in the area. Everything was just perfect, the rooms are spacious and clean, the food is delicious and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. I stay in around 30 4-5 star hotels a year and this is one of the best. I would therefore highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel, good service, clean, lots of hot water, large white towels. The room was spacious, warm, and had original features. Hotel tastefully decorated with tapestries and pictures. Excellent buffet breakfast with fresh fruit, vegetarian yoghurts, fruit croissants, cereals.

Having eaten here on several occasions in 2023 I gave a review of 5*. So on this knowledge I booked for my Family of 5 to have our Christmas day meal here. What a let down our food may as well been cooked by a child!. 3 of us had Pork,it was so dry two guest could not eat it. We noticed the next table complained about the same meal!.Two of us had Turkey this to was over cooked but we managed to eat a fair bit of it. When we complained the lady in charge dismissed us with a we are too busy you need to send an email!!. We left still hungry and very disappointed. This infact ruined our Christmas day!. My sister sent a email of complaint,of which she had unacceptable reply. Having sent a second email of complaint the company has ignored her completely. I'm disgusted with the way we have been treated and certainly wont be recommending The Roundabout Hotel to anyone in the future.

We had a fabulous Christmas lunch at the Roundabout. Five course meal presented beautifully and we all enjoyed the tasty dishes. Sue and the Team looked after us really well and it was excellent value for money. We have eaten here a few times and always been happy with what we have ordered. Very festive surroundings, a merry time had by us all.

We went to The Roundabout to celebrate our anniversary and had a really disappointing meal. Firstly the chef forgot about one of the starters which was a shame and we were only notified about it when the waiter brought over our main courses. When my wife cut into her chicken it was bright pink and had to be sent back. There is absolutely no excuse for this, even more so bearing in mind it wasn't busy and in fact there was only one other couple in the restaurant so not quite sure what was going on with the chef that night. My wife eneded up just ordering a starter and the waiter even asked if she wanted it on the plate with the chips and salad that the uncoocked chicken came on; swimming in all that lovely raw chicken juice, nice! I ordered the steak which whilst edible was not at all worth the £30 price tag. The waiter didn't charge us for my wife's starter and one set of drinks was taken of the bill but it didn't make up for a runied evening. He also never appolgised once for the disasterous evening, even when I spoke to him as we left about how unhappy we were. As a working couple with a family, nights out for us a few and far between and in addition to it being a special event it was even more upsetting. I don't think we will be returning which is such as shame as it is so local to us.

Terrible food! Nothing what the menu promotes. Over cooked tasteless greasy rubbish. I had the chicken noodles and tiramisu for pudding so mad and it’s expensive for what it is.

We found this hotel and we were so happy we did, it has so much charm and character, we stayed in Tudor Rose room that looked over the beautiful garden, great shower and a well presented and ample breakfast, would highly recommend 👌

Warning: this hotel will make you sign upon checking in something which says you agree to be fined should you dare to order food into your room. You will then be shouted and sworn at by the extremely rude owner. Avoid at all cost.

The food was very underwhelming, however the service wasn’t horrendous. There was only 2 other people there on a friday lunch time. Probably will not be coming back.

The hotel itself looks lovley when you go in but the food was not great. We had a mixture of starters and mains between us to try it out but was disappointed with it all apart from the chicken dish with Stilton. The wagu steak was chewy and expensive, the pork belly strater tasted and looked like it had been sitting around for a while. The betrrot salad was super small expensive, and tasted like mud. We thought it may be a lovely place for our friends wedding before we ate but we won’t be returning unfortunately

What a beautiful place, an absolute gem 💎 of a find. The rooms are lovely spacious and clean, the staff are all friendly. The Sunday roast was delicious but most of all the breakfast was to die for. We have never had a continental breakfast like it 😋. Initially we thought the price of a fried breakfast should be included, however there really was no need there was so much to choose from excellent quality and mainly localky sourced. We have just been here for Sunday Lunch. Great service the food was fabulous and prices very reasonable. The hotel/restaurant is beautiful like stepping back in time, beautifully decorated and lovely furniture. We will be speaking to Sue tomorrow to book A family Christmas day lunch.

Cosy hotel in idyllic surroundings, with a beautiful interior. Staff and management were very helpful and helped make our stay a good one.

Stayed here two nights in July 2023 and were very pleased with the visit. The staff were very nice and helpful especially young Jacob and his young assistant who were learning the trade. Our room was great, full of character and very spacious. Breakfast was really good with a huge choice to suit all tastes. The hotel was cosy in an old fashion way. There is a garden but it rained so we didn't use it. DInner in the evening was good, a bit pricey but then the breakfast was included in the morning. Most enjoyable

We stayed at this quirky and charming little hotel for one night after visiting Goodwood Festival of Speed! Our room was enormous with charming furniture and a 4 poster bed. The bathroom was huge and just all in all a lovely room. Some real drinking glasses/water, better quality toilet paper and upgraded toiletries would make the room 5* but that’s just being picky. Dinner was good - home made and comforting food with excellent potion sizes. Not gourmet but very nice! Service was very warm and friendly. We would definitely stay again.

We had gone out to celebrate a special occasion as a family for a meal at the Roundabout Hotel, and we left feeling very disappointed and a bit upset that our experience had dampened our celebrations. Two out of four of our meals arrived 25 minutes late as our order apparently didn't go through the till. We appreciate there may have been technical issues but we suggest there should be a double check when the order is put through to make sure that the chef has actually received it. Sorry but we will not be returning.

The room was lovely - it was our second visit as my husband plays golf there every 2,years. We arrived late so for the first time had dinner there. It was a disaster I had to send my mine back - I couldn’t even cut the lamb! Ordered kidneys which were poorly prepared and badly presented. I barely picked at them. My husband had fish which was passable. It was very well managed by a young women whose a student and delightful. She told us the chef was new! She apologised profusely in the nicest way. She’s a great member of staff. Breakfast very disappointing - you pay extra for a cooked breakfast! The tea cakes were stale, croissants poor - no butter - some very unattractive pastries! The food is this hotel really let’s it down.

Travelling about a lot. Every now and then, you find a gem! I had a really great stay. From the welcome, the room, and then the bar and restaurant staff, faultless. For a solo traveller, the room was massive, two double beds, a large ensuite, and a sitting area. The food was excellent, and the menu choices were extensive. The comfortable bed is a bonus, although the rooms were hot and a fan was welcomed. I hope to be returning soon.

Stayed here for four nights. Positives Lovely quiet location Super room Comfy bed Limitless hot water Good continental breakfast Minuses Poor housekeeping. We found a used milk carton and serviette on the floor of our room. No spoons in the room on arrival and only grudgingly managed to get one. The second didn’t appear. There was a huge cobweb in the breakfast room that stayed there all week. No sweetners to be had and no effort made to find some for us ( surely there must have been some in another unoccupied guest room) . It could be a great hotel but it lacks all the little details that could make it so. The staff didn’t have the ‘can do’ attitude expected in a four star hotel.

As this hotel is slightly remote it is pleasing to see that they do not price gouge. I ate here twice during a two night Coronation Weekend Stay and was very pleased with the Food and Service, particularly from Pippa, the service manager. Breakfast was also great and had a great variety on offer. Highly Recommended

Only stayed one night and couldn't fault the friendly staff. Our room was on the top floor and accessed by two fairly steep staircases. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The room was clean but had obviously not been occupied for a little while as the dressing table and window seal were rather dusty and both the blinds in the bedroom and bathroom were broken. The tea cups were also dirty and we had to wash them before we were able to make a drink. The walls are unfortunately rather thin as we could hear someone else's TV and someone snoring all night.Apart from these minor faults that could have easily been rectified, the hotel is beautiful. We didn't have an evening meal but did have a glance over the menu. The meals sounded tasty although a tad expensive averaging around £30 each for 3 courses without drinks.Although I've picked faults, these are very minor and I would definitely stay here again.

Visited for afternoon tea. A very warm welcome with COVID safeguarding well dealt with. The food was plentiful and delicious, the staff very friendly and helpful and the setting in the dining room was delightful. A real gem, I certainly recommend.

We have just had a lovely stay at The Roundabout Hotel, only for one night but wish it had been longer. Ellen was on duty for most of it and she is outstanding, very helpful, friendly and professional - thank you! All the staff were very friendly, especially the (I think) housekeeper and barman. We were eating out elsewhere in the evening so can't comment on dinner but if the breakfast is anything to go by it will be outstanding. I believe the hotel is deliberately dated, old fashioned style with faux bookshelves and the like in the lounge and it creates a very relaxed and comfortable environment. Our room, and indeed all of the hotel that we saw, was spotlessly clear. Our room was a suite, had plenty of room, hanging space and drawers, the bed mattress initially felt a bit soft however we slept very well - and my back always notices bad mattresses. Very peaceful.

The last few times we've been here, it's been a struggle to park as it always seems to be full of vans. Tonight, we had booked a table for supper, and when we arrived, there were no car park spaces, and again it was full of vans, and as we struggled to get out of the car park, 3 more vans were right on our tail blocking us in so we couldn't even get out. One of us went into the Hotel to tell them we couldn't make the table as there was no parking, and the queue was x5 people long to speak with staff. It was absolute chaos. I don't know what's going on there at the moment but what was meant to be a lovely evening post lockdown, and to support the Hotel, turned into a disaster. We shan't be returning anytime soon which is a real shame as we like to support them...

I’ve stayed here a number of times in the last 12 months and from arriving you’re made to feel welcome. The rooms are very nice and the public areas very quaint, the food menu has something for everyone and they are flexible with choice.The overall service is very good and it’s obvious that Leon the new manager has made a positive impact.

This is a really cosy place to go to for lunch or dinner by one of their open fires. We've had the homemade vegetable soup which was delicious and the chicken liver on toast, also yummy. My daughter was not so keen on the vegetarian main course but everything else we've had at the Roundabout has been very nice. And everyone there is lovely too.

Visited for lunch at short notice and had an enjoyable Fish and Chip meal. Staff were very friendly and the food was good. We were tempted by other items on the menu and will return in the near future.

35+ guests dined during a weekday evening. We were looked after very well by the staff with plenty of food. They were smiling and helpful. Worth a visit whether business or pleasure.

Great nights sleep, staff couldn’t do enough and top standard breakfast. Room was very clean with high quality linen, pillows, quilt and mattress with good facilities. Very comfortable and relaxing stay.

We eat here occasionally as its our local but not frequently. The atmosphere and surroundings are simply lovely. We took friends there today for Sunday lunch. Our only negatives was that the roast vegetables were NOT roasted except the potatoes. I thought it was almost mandatory to roast parsnips and the beef was certainly not near the best cut. Apparently the Vegan nut roast was excellent.

7 of us met up for a family lunch on Sat 28th Dec. Excellent service without being rushed. Excellent lunch from starters to desserts, and lovely atmosphere. We don't live locally but will definitely return when we can

We had a fantastic day at the hotel. Christmas dinner was superb. The young staff were all helpful, smiling and nothing was too much. Looking forward to doing it all again next year. Well done.

Good warm place but extremely busy. Long wait for service and lots of popular food choices had sold out. Food was good beer was excellent. Strange mixture of formal tables and seated couches in restaurant and allowed dogs which is unusual. Normal range of prices.

The dining room was full and we were shown to a table in the bar. There were three specials on the board, two of which were crossed out and only a vegan dish on offer. The menu was limited. My husband chose coq au vin and I chose lasagne. We both ordered a large glass of red wine. When served, the coq au vin looked very anaemic and was sitting in a watery 'jus'. My lasagne was very well done. My husband cut into his chicken and blood oozed out of it. He tried another area and that too was bloody. The waitress was called and said 'oh you can't eat that' and took it to the kitchen. Nothing else on the menu appealed and certainly not another chicken dish. My husband eventually settled for a deep fried cheese starter with chips to bulk the meal out. The chef did not come out of the kitchen to apologise or indeed dispute the reported dangerously undercooked chicken. We were told the general manager would sort this out in the morning. When we went to pay our bill next morning the coq au vin had been deleted and there was no charge for my husband's starter. She claimed she knew nothing about our disastrous dinner as she had not read last night's report. We queried the bill as it was more than it should have been and were told we had ordered a Carlsberg as well as the wine. We had not. The manager was adamant that we should pay this bill including for the drink we had not ordered or drunk. . She was very aggressive and rude and in fact walked away from us, leaving us standing in reception. We did pay in full - so check your bill as this is a good trick. Don't imagine the South Coast Inns will help you in any way at all.

We had our families visiting from Lancashire and met at the Roundabout Hotel for our lunch. We had a really good choice and everyone enjoyed the food.

Group visit again and another super time. Over 30 of us dined with a prearranged menu. Very good feedback from everyone. Quality of food was first class, friendly service with good number of staff looking after us in the side restaurant area which meant service was well timed between each course and not rushed. Food was nicely cooked and presented on hot plates which is a bonus compared to some places! This location is well suited for group events down the single’s and a great place to stay. Large garden with local walks around village. Well done to all the staff in preparation and delivering another successful event.

This hotel advertises takeaway fish and chips and we have used it every two or three weeks with family.

Stopped and had a quick lunch today the 14th November at the the Roundabout Hotel. I have been there many times before and it never disappoints. This time was in another league the food could only be described as superb and tremendous value for money. I strongly recommend this restaurant , a gem in the Sussex countryside. Thanks.

Stayed for two nights, lovely accommodation, very refined, clean, everything you’d expect. Four poster bed in the superior room, very luxurious, suitably creaky with an excellent mattress.

We have been here every year to visit the Goodwood Revival. This place is performing better every year. The kitchen and staff are great. Helpfull when asked.

Stayed here as part of a recent trip to an open day at Nyetimber. We chose it as it was convenient and I have to say it really surpassed my expectations. I had looked at pictures on the website and decided it looked a bit tired and old fashioned but in reality this was not true. The styling of the spaces was really welcoming and our room was spacious with a massive comfy bed and nice furniture. Would recommend.

Booked in for dinner on a Saturday to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Restaurant quiet with only two other couples and lacked atmosphere. Menu unexciting and no "specials" despite being a Saturday. Disappointingly unadventurous amuse bouche arrived comprising artisan bread and three different butters that included one plain and one with pesto (which I dislike intensely, but that's not the chef's fault). What was less than satisfactory was the medium-rare steak that not only arrived well-done and like shoe leather but smothered in the same pesto butter - an unusual and rather unpleasant combination that was not indicated on the menu. Left disappointed but did not wish to complain and spoil a special occasion.

From the minute we arrived, see who checked us in was warm and welcom jng and went out if her way to make our 3 night anniversary stay as special as possible. She gave us a gorgeous room and the hotel, restaurant and staff were all amazing. Lots to do nearby but the hotel itself is in a very tranquil location. Comfy beds and beautiful property. We did not want to leave!

Had a single room which was larger than most, attractive period type furniture, very comfortable. Good tasty English breakfast with friendly service. The gardens are neat and tidy giving a feeling of countryside peace. Would definitely stay again and recommend to all. Exceptionally priced.

The restaurant was quiet for a Saturday, but the service was slow and unatentive throughout.

We booked in here as we were visiting family in the area. Delightful stay in spacious, well-furnished rooms. My daughter and I treated to ourselves to a double room each. The breakfast available which was included in the price, was very good and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The only slightly negative things were that my room was directly above the Reception/front door so when guests were leaving after midnight on the Saturday night, I was disturbed. When we had returned later in the evening from visiting in the area, there was very little parking left due to the function hosted by the hotel. I can only suggest that a portion of the car park should be cordoned off for residents. These two things certainly didn't make our stay any less enjoyable though and I would recommend the hotel and definitely stay there again.

We were there at the weekend for a birhday party and I must say the food, the service, the rooms were first class, the hotel had a very warm welcome, bed was very comfortable the room was delightful, I think we must have had the biggest room in the hotel is was huge. The food for the party was really good, especially has they had so many to cater for, the breakfast the following morning was wonderful. Couldn't fault this hotel, would thoroughly recommend it

we have had many afternoon stops here and the hot chocolate is something special. great atmosphere, good parking, very friendly staff and peaceful location

I was pleasantly surprised by the furnishings in the room which were absolutely outstanding and the room was extremely spacious.
