We attended a Rod Stewart tribute night and loved it. The atmosphere, decor and 3 course meal were all great. We had the best evening. The meal (although pre booked) was lovely and very tasty. The staff were friendly and quick. We would definitely book another tribute night.

Having had coffee with friends tried to return my cup to the bar from the garden. I could not see where to go and felt obliged to use the narrow car park entrance out into the street, past another notice denying access and eventually back into the bar. I discussed this with the barman who said I just should’ve walked through. I was then joined by my husband and I needed to return to the bar to order lunch. Thinking I was following the barman’s advice I walked past a “Staff only” notice in order to walk through to the bar. I was loudly called back to the way I had entered. A man was swaggering towards me aggressively demanding I returned to the outside area. He questioned my ability to read and no doubt for the benefit of his friends sitting nearby told me to follow the signs. As I still could not see where to go I was forced yet again to use the narrow car park route back to the street. As a 77 year old female who is not in the habit of breaking rules or being publicly humiliated for such actions I told the barman He then showed me where I should have gone. Despite the fact that the place was festooned with signs and notices telling people where they should not go, what they should not do and what they should not wear, the door I should have used was in a small alley where there were toilets. This door had no sign whatsoever so I presumed it was another toilet. Despite my extreme embarrassment at such treatment ( the barman told me I had been admonished by the owner) we ordered lunch. The staff were very kind and friendly. The meal was not good. The Yorkshire pudding was good but instead of crackling the pork skin was tough and rubbery. The vegetables were overcooked and the whole meal was extremely salty. I do not usually post negative reviews but I would hate another confused elderly person to be subjected to such treatment. My husband is disabled. Maybe that is another reason why the owner was so keen to get rid of us whilst showing off his little kingdom to his friends.

Overall , it's an okay place to stay overnight to break a long journey, needs a bit of a revamp.I found the bar prices a bit on the high end of the scale, £7.60 for a pint of Madri. Bar opening times seem a bit strange for a Hotel

Our third visit and yet again a superb meal. But that is just one element of our visit. Firstly the serving staff were welcoming, efficient and courteous. The menu was varied but it was Sunday so roast dinner for us both. Very well prepared veg, tasty gravy, jucy meat, both the pork and the lamb. Consistent ly top notch.

What an amazing find this is. Walked past and thought to give their Sunday roast a try. We have been around and have eaten to many places but their Sunday roast is simply amazing. The beef was cooked to perfection and the yorkshire pudding was amazing. The service was excellent and they have a large beer garden at the back. We will definitely be back

Stopped in at this Bramber hotel today for lunch, just across the road from the Norman castle ruins. It seemed quiet, even for a Tuesday. The weather was warm and sunny and we sat outside in the large patio area at the rear of the hotel. The sandwiches looked good, were freshly made and tasty. Service was friendly. Well worth a visit.

I couldn't wait to get out of this place. I was seated near a table of locals who had a dog that barked and yapped on a regular basis. The owners had no desire to try and control it. On complaining I was told dogs were allowed in the bar seating area and there was no policy about dogs barking.

Stayed for two nights when in town for a nearby wedding. The room and facilities were fine, clean and adequate for our needs. Staff were friendly. The food on the dinner menu was well cooked (though delayed). There was a busy event on our first night, the evening we had booked for dinner. Perhaps as a result of this, our meals were extremely slow to arrive (2hrs total for two courses). We were eventually comped some drinks as an apology when we complained. To note: the food itself was nice when we finally got to eat it. Breakfast in the morning was very disappointing. My wife's eggs royale was appetising. However, my 'full' English was an extremely small portion, a single table-spoon portion of beans, the single rasher of bacon was underdone, the single very small sausage was undercooked and inedible. We didn't bother with our prepaid breakfast on the second morning. Poor, given it was pretty expensive. On a minor note: there are printed signs everywhere setting out various rules and orders, to the extent that it became a running joke for us. But, we felt it compromised our enjoyment of the location as it didn't feel especially welcoming.

Amazing staff ! We came in for dinner before a concert nearby. The pub didn’t start serving food til 6, but we were early & had a cab booked to take us out. The bar man said the kitchen would be happy to cook out meal early… then as the area had recently had a power outage the card machines were off. They were so accommodating & we left all our details & paid later .. oh & great food too! Thank you.

Great hotel and restaurant. We stayed one night walking the SDW. Very friendly team, nice clean room. Fresh milk for teas and a coffee machine in the hall. The restaurant had a good selection of food, everything that we had was well cooked. Good buzzy atmosphere - on a Tuesday night! The highlight was the breakfast, especially the smoked trout and scrambled eggs.

Good location. Easy to find. On-site parking (but a bit limited). Good welcome, friendly staff. Restaurant a 'good pub plus'. Room very clean and tidy, bathroom seemed newly refurbished. All well equipped. Fast wi-fi. I was in room 19, ground floor, garden access. Nice position, but the only downside, the walls were very thin. I could hear conversation next door and above, so not ideal.

This property, which is pub and hotel is located a 10 minute walk from my cousins in Upper Beeding. The prices are quite reasonable and the rooms quite comfortable and modernized for an old building. Very comfortable beds and very cool and large bathroom with the light activated by motion sensor ( dance in the shower to keep the light on the whole time, lol) I was not bothered by the lack of elevator but it may be a problem for people with mobility issues. The pub part has great food and a nice beer and spirit selection. The included breakfast is a great deal, especially the full English! The best part of the Castle Inn, though, is the staff. From the housekeepers and maintenance people to the pub and kitchen, I have rarely seen such lovely people in any hotel I have been to. Special shoutout to Chloe, Lucy, May, Debbie and the lovely Lois ( who is apparently Superman's girlfriend!!) who brought sunshine every morning to my breakfast. I will definitely be back.

I didn't stay at the hotel. I visited the restaurant for Sunday lunch today, without having a table reserved. The staff were fantastic - helpful, friendly & efficient. I had roast lamb with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, greens & red cabbage. It arrived shortly after I had ordered & was very tasty. I followed that with dessert & coffee. It was difficult to decide which dessert to order; there were some tempting choices, like strawberries & cream mille feuille & chocolate & hazelnut cheesecake, but I settled for orange posset with shortbread biscuits. A great choice! The homemade biscuits melted in my mouth & the posset was delicious. I chose it because it was unusual. I had visited the village of Bramber because it's very pretty & there were a couple of gardens with quirky & unusual displays, so my lunch stop was a spur of the moment decision which turned out to be a good one.

The Castle Inn Hotel is situated in the picturesque village of Bramber. I dropped in the pub for a spot of lunch and a pint. Friendly staff served me from a well stocked bar. I went for a pint of Harvey's Sussex - clear and hoppy just as it should be. I didn't want a full blown meal just a snack. I speak from experience when I say the food here is very good and nicely presented but best of all delicious. Free public car park is directly opposite and has always had parking spaces available when I've visited. Recommended.

Booked this inn for a last minute thing. It was okay, not great, not bad. The room I had was sparse and not cosy unlike the photos of other rooms. Person who showed me to room didn't seem to know much, or impart much info. The area around inn is lovely. The restaurant is nicely decorated, but charging 17 for a salmon seemed excessive, so I didn't eat in there. So, the ensuite shower room was really cold, no heater, but the bedroom was warm all night. The Windows were thin and could hear traffic noise, if this bothers you bring earplugs. Likewise the curtains didn't fit Windows and there was lots of blue light from pub sign, if this bothers you bring eyemask. The mattress was quite hard, but better than some hotels I've stayed in which charge £100pn so I slept well. Pub noises underneath stopped at 11pm promptly. Walls thin to next door room, though they seemed to be having a good time. Dinner is 6-9ish can't remember? Breakfast finished at ..9.15am on a weekend. filter coffee included in breakfast with room rate, but if you want cappuccino that's extra. The stairs to the rooms are quite steep so if you struggle with mobility that could be a factor. There is free parking in pub carpark(nice)free parking on road so that's handy. Pub landlord is a nice cheery bloke. some areas of property could be cleaner, ie the doors to the pub from the accommodation area. It's a basic inn hotel vibe. I wouldn't rule it out to stay again..and also my breakfast seem good quality but was overcooked but the girl dealing with breakfast wasn't really that engaged so I couldn't be bothered to tell her. It should have been clear to kitchen that the sausage/bacon/mushroom had been deepfried or ovenned to an inch of its life. All in all, it's an okay place. Bet it's nice in summer there as there a huge pub garden. You could do a lot worse put it that way.

I stayed here for one night (31st Oct) when visiting my daughter. I was given room one, which was perfect for a single guest. Comfy bed, super clean, good towels and lots of amenities- TV with sky, hair dryer (I’m bald 🤔 so didn’t use this) iron and ironing board, plenty of hangers in the wardrobe, kettle, lots of coffee, tea etc and cookies. I ate in the restaurant in the evening with my daughter and the food was excellent . Lots of choice with vegan options aplenty. All very delicious. I had good old fish and chips and was informed the fish was line caught that morning. As good as it gets. The sticky toffee pudding was sublime. Breakfast was equally excellent and freshly cooked to order. What made this stay so good though, was the happy, friendly, helpful and professional staff. I’d like to offer a special shoutout to Tyler who did an excellent job. Thanks Tyler. All this and it’s set in one of the south’s most beautiful areas. (And it’s an unbelievable bargain price - £24 cheaper than a Travelodge, (on the night I booked) which charges extra for a buffet breakfast ). If I was pushed for a negative, it would be the creaky floors. However, this is far from a new build (it’s even older than me 😳) so it wouldn’t be authentic if it didn’t creak a little. Suffice to say, I will be returning here on my next overnight visit to my daughter.

If I was rating this review purely on the Cheeseburger I had then I would rate it a one star, as it was without doubt the worst burger I have ever had, and in my time I have had many. The fact that I could hardly cut through it made me wonder initially if the knife was blunt, but it was also difficult to chew. However, moving on the pies were superb, full of chicken and leak. Also the scampi was quite tasty. The staff were attentive and polite and the drinks fine. I’m sure if I had complained about the burger it would have been changed, but regardless of that it should never have been served in that condition - it suggests that the kitchen really don’t care about what they are serving. You are probably safe with the specials - it’s where the pies were found.

You honestly couldn’t ask for more attentive staff. We have just enjoyed a few days here in a room at the top. Wonky floors (which you would expect in a building this age) add to the cosy character of the place. The food is delicious...

Really gone down hill over the last 12 months. We decided to give it another try to see if they had maybe turned things around because in the past we had enjoyed the food. However the recent visit only confirmed our decision to not go...

Walked in near closing time and the staff was lovely enough to ask the kitchen if it’s okay to eat and the chef accommodated us. Atmosphere was good as it was a busy Friday night. Noce to see hospitality getting back to business. Food was...

Went in on Sunday for lunch when we were in the area. Decided to have lunch and really wish we hadn't - a waste of money. The Home cooked honey and mustard ham was the plastic reconstituted type straight out of a packet - slimey....

Food was over priced and very poor quality would not go back and check your beer you don't get a full pint unless you ask for it to be top up. Watch out for the English mustard is was grey in its jar.

A lovely little coffee shop situated centrally in Horsham. They have lovely coffees and wonderful staff. A nice addition is the small chocolate which is served with the coffee. Prices are average, meaning that they're roughly the general market rate for a highstreet coffee shop. I can't speak to the food as I didn't have any, though there was a selection of sweet treats available as one went in and they looked very nice.

After an extensive search for a suitable place to celebrate my partner's 70th birthday celebrations I settled on The Black Horse in Amberley. I wasn't disappointed this stunning pub with rooms above has been elegantly restored to beyond it's former glory by Emma and her Husband. We received a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble, the breakfast and drinks were really good. It's situated in the heart of one of West Sussex's most beautiful villages and popular with walkers. We'll definitely be returning.

Enjoyed the new Sunday roast menu and the roast beef was amazing. We have a child who is coeliac and they catered unbelievably well for her. We have such trouble wherever we go and her not having a mass selection to eat but they catered just for her. A wonderful country pub, with a lovely atmosphere.

We popped in as it seemed quiet and we hadn’t been in before. Had a sausage bap, couple of pastries and 2 gingerbread lattes. The sausages were cold and they did the cardinal sin of not putting any whipped cream in the coffee as advertised! Furious!
