Was really looking forward to a lovely day out and picnic. But they are not as sweet as their strawberries! There was nothing on their website about no picnics, so when got there was shocked to find that there is a no picnic rule! The situation could have been handled well by staff, but when aproached by a female staff member we were told that we could go and sit behind an old shed in the car park, or in the strawberry field (where you are not allowed to also eat) where no one would see us. Because apparently if ANYONE saw us having a small picnic on the grass then EVERYONE who saw us would suddenly want to bring picnics! I really thought this was a community place, but we were told in their own words that they only care about making money. So when we offered to buy things in the cafe we were told this was still not ok. Rude staff as well. On website said not gluten free kitchen so what are the gluten free people meant to do about food!? Eat the grass!? Overpriced cakes and tea. Do not recommend!!

Went for Mother’s Day lunch with my two daughters and granddaughter. The food and service was very disappointing and the staff were rude and unpleasant. The menu was very limited with not much choice. The children’s meal constisted if two sandwich squares and a small cake. My tuna toasted sandwich was very dry and did not have any salad with it. A disappointing end to what should have been a perfect day.

Delightful place, hidden in the Horsham countryside. We went late-pm (2:30ish) and had lunch. There was a little queue but it moved quickly. We had tea which was served in a very generously-sized teapot. We had lunch from the specials board - quiche Lorraine, Scotch egg and salad. It was lovely, home cooked and a good portion. The salad was really good as it wasn’t just lettuce, it was potato salad and coleslaw too. They had a wide section of home baked cakes in the counter. The place was moderately busy but felt peaceful. It’s surrounded by fields and is picturesque. They have a farm shop too which is filled with local goodies. We will definitely be coming back very soon!

I used to love going to this cafe for breakfast, lunch or just coffee, but since the changes have been made there, it is so noisy!!!!!! We just cannot bear to sit there any more. I think some soft furnishings need to be added or carpet to the floor. So dissappointing.

Situated in an unspoilt countryside location just outside the bustling market town of Horsham is New House Farm, which has been tastefully converted from an old 16th century barn. The farm shop sells a generous array of locally-sourced produce and local crafts, while there's an opportunity to pick your own strawberries when they're in season. The biggest pull of this charming rural stop is arguably the shop's adjacent Strawberry Fields tea room. which serves hot and cold drinks, ploughman's lunches, sandwiches, breakfasts (until midday), fresh cakes and scones. Bright and airy, the tea room has benefitted greatly after its recent renovation, and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There's no table service, but don't be put off by the often lengthy queues at the counter, as these soon dwindle. We ordered a ploughman's lunch each, which we've had several times previously. The portions are always generous, and very reasonably priced, and once again we didn't have to wait long for our meals to arrive.

Came for PYO and some breakfast on fathers day. Firstly, no PYO. Stick a sign on the gate or the road as you enter to let people know its closed. So many disappointed familes that were then lured into the restaurant because their kids were sad. The young lad working there was incredibly rude. The lady in front of me only wanted cutlery to eat her breakfast. His response were busy nothing I can do. Waited an hour for a mediocre, tasteless breakfast.

I made a reservation for Father's Day breakfast and the least I expected was a basic welcome and to be show to our seats. Unfortuntaly there was no welcome by any staff on arrival, we eventually figured out that you had to search each table for your name that was printed on a slip of paper. Then there was no table service so I had to queue up behind 20 people also ordering breakfast. The worst tea room experience I have ever had.

Always good food and service, but one of those establishments that states on its website "due to health and hygiene reasons dogs are not allowed inside". They are allowed outside but I'm not leaving my dog out in the rain. This of course won't bother a lot of people but as a dog owner it confuses me. My dog is not unhealthy or unhygienic and is allowed in many places and I'm sure he's never made anyone's customers sick.

Spent the afternoon picking lovely ripe Strawberries in the field of New house farm. I was informed this was the first batch & others would follow on as the season has started a little earlier than normal. If you look under the plants further down that is where you find the hidden gems that most seem to miss. A lovely place to visit, even more so during difficult times. Sat down on the lawn outside the shop & tea room with a freshly brewed cup of coffee. They also have a limited take away food menu. Well worth a visit on a sunny day. Having visited here a few years ago, it is a shame to say how this once friendly cafe & reasonably priced menu has since gone downhill.Visited twice recently and both occasions have been very disappointing.Breakfast menu is totally inflexible and very uninspiring. A guest of ours is allergic to mushrooms so we asked for a substitute of an extra piece of bacon or sausage. The uncaring and uneducated waitress replied you can only replace protein for protein - well mushrooms are protein. But our request was refused.Visited soon after for afternoon tea. Being late in the day, the cake I chose was one portion left on a plate. The waitress had the audacity to attempt to cut it in half and present me with a slither of cake on another plate at a cost of £3.20. I really couldn’t believe that with the profit they make here that even with a supervisor watching they deemed this as value for money. I refused it and said the portion size really wasn’t acceptable. Rather than just apologise and make amends, the cake got sent to the kitchen (no doubt for the staff to have). I chose a second slice of cake which the waitress began cutting, but it fell apart into crumbs which she tried to sweep onto my plate in a messy mound. Of course I refused this too with not a word of apology or an attempt to rectify the situation by either staff member. What has happened to decent customer service? The couldn’t care attitude was shocking and I definitely will not be back.

Delicious cakes and food were enjoyed here on an excellent day out at the Maize Maze. We stayed here for lunch and the food was excellent. Great choice of cakes including a dairy free/gluten free/soya free option which is near enough impossible to find anywhere. I had 3 children with me and they were welcomed by the staff who were very friendly. It was a busy summer day and the staff were coping with the large influx of customers well. Took my 2 daughters & 5 grandchildren here yesterday morning to the Maize Maze, family ticket costs £28 for family of 4. The car park entrance for the Tea Rooms & Maize Maze is signposted - the Maize Maze car park entrance is off a track from the main car park for the Tea Rooms & leads to a field with picnic benches. On arrival, we were given maps of the large Maze, there is also a smaller maze which takes approximately 20 minutes to go round. The Maize Maze rules were explained by the staff at the entrance & the maps had a telephone number to call for help if we got lost! It took us approximately 90 minutes to go round the Maize Maze - we had all taken a drink & were glad we did, but there is a kiosk that sells drinks & snacks for those who forget to take a drink with them.

I went to the farm shop tea room late pm with my daughter and our puppy. I bought drinks and cake, it was a very warm day. We tried to sit outside in the shade. They have a wasp infestation, they were literally everywhere! I know it is that time of year but I could only see one wasp catcher jar. We literally just poured our drinks and the wasps flew in the glasses. We decided to leave. I asked if we could take the cakes home and a nice young waiter came out with paper bags. I said we’d paid for the drinks but didn’t get a chance to have any and what a waste of money. He said he would go and ask the manager. She came out and apologised but wouldn’t refund. She said it was simply that time of year and best to sit inside. I said how could we, when we had the puppy. They really should do something about it. The young waiter couldn’t even collect from the tables due to the amount of wasps! It’s such a shame as I usually go here frequently but won’t be returning this summer. I would not recommend going if you have children or pets. To top it all, when we got home and tried the cake, it was very stale. Really disappointing!

One takes part in an egg hunt and has to record the number of eggs in a next at ten sign posts. We didn't find them all! They do give you a map if you feel really lost and there is a staff member on the bridge in the middle and an "escape telephone number"if one is really lost. We often pop up to the tea rooms, lovely fresh locally sourced food and freshly made. Lots of outside seating on sunny days and a shop to buy local too!

Popped in with wife and kids in Easter holidays. Lovely cake and a great cup of tea, lovely brownies and the staff, particularly Sonia, were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend a visit on a sunny day.

I'd never even heard of this place and I live locally. It has a lovely shop with genuinely unique produce and a very nice tea room with a slim menu on offer, but what they do they do very well. Was also easily able to cater for a vegan member of our group without prior warning. Very friendly staff. Not the cheapest, but a really nice experience. I'd return.

Lovely breakfasts served here. Lovely place to visit in the summer as they have strawberry picking which the children love to take part in.

We had planned to stop for a cup of tea and some Brussels sprouts at the farm shop! Also we wanted to chat to the owner, as my great great Uncle Charles Hunt was a stable boy there in 1911. They were very helpful. We bought sausages!

This Tea Room, a converted barn, is attached to a farm-shop within a working farm. There is a large car-park and it often fills up.Service is always friendly and helpful, Snacks and lunches are a fair price.I'd recommend their afternoon tea of a hot drink plus scones and jam.

Visited once again for a yummy breakfast, food freshly cooked and hot! Great atmosphere with friendly staff. The tea room was extremely busy but this did not take away from the excellent service. Back to visit again next Sunday with family.

I had a pre booked and pre arranged meeting with 5 other people. We were rudely told to move bags (which were not in the way) and told we were taking up too much room, as we had only bought coffees. Each and everyone of us had bought cakes and or breakfast.Don't pop in for just a drink, you'll be evicted unless seen to be buying more Unbelievably bad business sense

This is a good place to go for lunch or tea, and you buy dinner in the farm shop at the same time. They also stock a range of other goods such as cards, shopping bags and chocolates.

Often go for afternoon tea and always find the staff are friendly and the service good. There is always a good selection of homemade cakes to choose from. Recently took my sister there for her birthday and we had the cream tea which was lovely, the scone was warm too. On other occasions we have had lunch and can recommend the ploughman's which came with lovely fresh bread ( again warm ) with all the trimmings of cheese, apple etc and salad. It also has a little farm shop selling local produce and a few gifts. There is plenty of seating inside and outside which is handy for when out walking with the dog. Have recommended this place to many people who didn't know it was there....a hidden gem !

Went here this morning as a change from the standard high street coffee shops in Horsham. Been meaning to go for some time as it had rave reviews in the local press. The location was lovely. The staff were delightful. Very friendly and very helpful. Could not be faulted, but unfortunately the coffee and food were very average indeed. Not bad, but no better than any other bog standard cafe. Shame as everything else was fine.

This is a well frequented tea room in a fantastic location. A really peacefull setting and one that l come to at least once a week (normally after a walk across the local fields.) I would almost give this a 5 out of 5; the only slight critisism is that the tables do take some time to be cleared after people have left. Today for instance (29th August) - 2.30ish - the table next to me has been left to the wasps for at least 15 minutes. A small point but one that could just add that touch of professionalism.

Good food. Need to get there early as very popular. Noisy due to wooden floors. Tables aren't big enough for 4 people. Farm Shop has good variety. Well worth a visit.

This place is probably more commonly known as Strawberry Fields. We had a tuna panini and a brie & bacon panini during a mid afternoon drop in, plus a pot of tea for two (the tea was a bit weak - too much water). The paninis could also have done with a bit of garnish to embellish the presentation. However, they tasted good enough.

Really nice tea room. Freshly cooked food. Outdoor area for when the sun shines! Friendly staff. AND in the summer strawberry picking. Just be careful on A264 when turning left to get there - signal early!

Although this is one about 10 minutes drive from my home, I only recently became aware of it. I popped along for breakfast with a friend and was not disappointed. We arrived just as they were opening the gate at 10.00, and there was a small queue as people had been waiting to get in. We ordered the full English, and whilst not the speediest service, we didn't wait too long and the food was lovely when it arrived. The setting is lovely, looking out over fields, and will definitely be coming back - maybe afternoon tea next time! There is also a small farm/gift shop attached, with lots of locally sourced goods. All in all, well worth a visit!

I often come here with friends and/or family:To visit the farm shop, with local produce to buyTo have a snack or lunch in pleasant surroundingsI came with a friend this week and he a most delicious exceptional soup, served very quickly with a smileThere are always lots of cars in the extensive car park; some people just pop in others stay for a lunch and long chat. Meier way there's no pressure. Used tables are cleared quickly. Nice loo.In the summer it's great to sit outside in the sun

Nice place for coffee and cakes or light lunch. Pleasant and clean. It is at the end of the farm shop (also nice) and has basic decor with wooden table and chairs so not the most comfortable seating (some soft chairs and sofas would make it better in my opinion!) but food good and staff always nice. They do loyalty cards so you can get free drinks if you visit regularly. Worth a visit.

We had my daughters birthday party here it ended up being 45 kids/parents in total. The staff were absolutely brilliant, so helpful, polite and kind. The food was brilliant, we did a massive order and it all came out pretty much the same time. They made such an effort with every aspect. Absolutely recommend for a party, my daughter had such a brilliant day.

Service very good. Food so so. I had full English with poached eggs. Hash Brown's very good. Eggs cold. Bacon hard. Tea bag left in the tea cup - which was OK- but nowhere to put it. Pancakes - 3 - came with 3 fried eggs which was a surprise.

Fairly basic pub but brilliant atmosphere and music some nights of week. Basic food choice of excellent pizzas. I usually go 5 to 8pm time..friendly clientele and lots of dogs.
