We spent a wonderful afternoon in Hastings enjoying the lovely sunshine at the end of September. We loved this shop with its beautiful and varied items for sale. We were in need of a nice cup of tea and we couldn’t have made a better choice. We sat outside in the sunshine and lovely pot of tea for two was brought out to us. A lovely china teapot, bone china cups and saucers. Milk in a little jug and a couple of biscuits. It was delightful and there were two full cups each for the both of us. It was such a pleasant conclusion to a lovely afternoon. Just sitting and relaxing in the warm autumn sunshine. Thank you.

What a gorgeous cafe - beautiful decor, lovely staff and delicious coffee

First the basics - this is a small restaurant, lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff. I came for lunch, and had the spaghetti with beef shortrib ragu. The pasta was obviously fresh, and the ragu was rich and earthy - perfect for the cold early spring afternoon.

Lovely little boozer, no frills. Gets busy at weekends with great live music and DJs, very well kept ales x

The most fabulous delicious meze choice. He also made ayan especially for me as he doesn't normally sell it which I thought strange. Freshly made. Can eat in or out. Very accommodating.

I liked FILO so much - I picked FILO randomly on the day I was visiting Hastings and had Sunday roast lunch there. The stuff was so friendly, warm and welcoming. I was accommodated well even I didn’t have the booking on a busy Sunday. The food (Sunday roast) was very tasty and OMG, the toffee pudding dessert 🍮! Do me a favor - you have to try it! It was served warm with all the sweet delightness! If you like to feel the local old town vibe, enjoy a lovely meal and hospitality in Hastings. This is a great place to go! 🪵🔥🍺🍷🍮🍽️🍖🤎

I asked to have a Cornish pasty heated to take away. The member of staff said- that they didn't need to be heated, as they'd just come out of the oven. They didn't look warm, but she was most instant. The result is I had a take out of a barely warm pasty. It didn't feel hot even to touch. End result. They've lost a customer.

Excellent service and superb food. Had a Sri lankan curry it was exceptional. There was also steak in my party whi h was cooked to perfection. 5* all round. Have an update on my review today, 03/03/2025. Had a butter chicken curry, which was absolutely perfect, served to me by a handsome and charming bald man who didn't seem angry or mean in the least. Both food and service continue to be excellent.

We went to this restaurant, now Taste of Vitality, as the chef had a great reputation for Indian food. The menu was fabulous however one hour later we were still waiting for our food. Not a poppadoms in sight! We managed to drink our bottle of wine. People before us were just about to leave as they had to wait an hour for their food and we’re over charged. We were eventually served with food that was not ours and they took it back to take to the other party. There were only 3 tables occupied in the restaurant! We paid for our wine and left.

Really nice staff and service and the brunch was really good value, we will return here for sure, it was a really nice experience nice atmosphere and great eats
