We have been member of the club for 6 years . We often go for breakfast but Brenda Andy have retired . The new people are absolute useless first you wait half hour for two breakfasts , to then be told you had not paid for two I went up and said to the lady to which she couldn’t admit it was her mistake , and basically told me and my husband to not come back . I love the club but won’t ever be using them for breakfast ever again shocking young people with chip on shoulders

There were about 14 of us in a meetup group for brunch. Many of us had the full English breakfast but with changes, which were all happily accommodated The guy who served us did an excellent job. I really enjoyed the food which cost £6 for the breakfast and 80p for a cup of tea. Definitely going again.

Always get a fantastic lunch, a sandwich is like a meal so much filling and salad on the side, have had dinners there always brilliant loads of it and very tasty, their Sunday roast is amazing lucky if you can fit a pudding in after so full up with dinner. The carvery is amazing so much to choose from, how they are so reasonably priced for what you get I don't know, the staff bless them I love them to bits always smile caring and nothing is too much for them, when I was on a restricted diet they went out of their way to provide foods for me to eat. You are simply the best cafe in Hastings and I love it. I'm in there twice a week and when I can on sunday. You work so hard congratulations you deserve to be reviewed will always be my favourite cafe

To the right of the Lifeboat station as you face the sea, head upstairs to the friendly bar/tea rooms. Fabulous views, ridiculously cheap prices and the friendliest staff. A limited menu but freshly cooked, £5.50 for a full English, veggie version available too. Also excellent stop off for a lunchtime pint. Highly recommended

Hidden away near the lifeboat station is the East Hastings Sea Angling Association. Even more hidden is the top storey, which is a bar serving good quality pub food. If that's what you want, give it a try. There is a fully stocked bar. (I am not usually partial to Harvey's Best, but they keep theirs in top condition and serve it at just the right temperature.) The bar room is TARDIS-like but we prefer to sit outside on the balcony overlooking the Channel. There are four pub-style benches.

I'm not sure how they manage to produce such good, honest, no frills meals at such low prices but I'm pleased they do. £3.55 for a toastie & a cup of tea! Well run (excellent Covid awareness), friendly & a great sea view to boot!. We'll be back again soon without a doubt.

Warm and welcoming first floor bar and restaurant with frequent musical entertainment and cooking that is better than one might think in such an informal place. I had my 80th Birthday here and they did me proud.

I was contemplating whether to post this review or not, as I like to support businesses, especially on online reviews, however the treatment and inference towards us and my children I thought was out of order, which is why I've posted this review. My brother arranged my Mums surprise 70th birthday party in the club on Sat 9th March, we were bringing Mum in and all her friends were waiting. When we first walked through the door to the club, a young lady (I assume a staff member) said that children aren't allowed in the bar, and we would have to have them out of there by 9pm (it was about 7.30pm). I understand that members clubs have rules, but perhaps a "hello" and a bit more diplomacy might have been nice. We went around into the area where the friends were waiting, near the stage / dance floor area, and an older couple immediately started putting and talking very loudly. The lady especially said things like "they shouldn't be allowed in here", "this is ridiculous", and "this is a members club, we shouldn't have to put up with this", referring to the children (my two girls, and some nieces and nephews) being there. I could in a sense understand if they were being really disruptive, however we'd not even say down and still had our coats on, and the children hadn't done a thing. I asked the couple "is there a problem with the children being here?", to which the response was "no", to which I said "good, so calm it down."The woman then said "I'm not having this" and walked around to the bar, where my wife was talking to my brother. She overheard the woman complaining to the staff about our group and the children being there, and unknowing that I'd already spoken with her, my wife asked "is there a problem?"It also seemed to calm a bit after this until the staff came around asking for £2 per head for "non members", I assume following this woman's complaint. We left, including my Mum who's birthday it was, by 9pm. The kids were all well behaved. I thought that the approach and feeling towards us was not friendly at all, and I'll never go there again with or without the kids. It's a shame as I've been in the other angling social club (next to the paddelo boating lake on the sea front) last year for my Aunts wake and they were really friendly and fine with kids being there. Sometimes being a bit "mindful" about how you phrase things, and a bit of integrity from members in terms of how they treat and refer to others, can make a lot of difference in the world of customer satisfaction.

Accepting fishermen don't generally stand on ceremony, this is a delightful first floor bar/restaurant very close to the Lifeboat Station. I like the informality and friendliness of the place, and the food and cooking are very good. Nice views of the beach, and memberships available.. A hidden gem, very good for a rael English breakfast.

Held my Dads wake here yesterday afternoon (free of charge) the catering was perfect (really reasonable price) Great bar staff, allowed me to put up a projector and play my own music for about 5 hours! - it was the perfect send off. The views were amazing, great selection of all drinks. Thank you so much for making the day easier for us all.

Great Food at good prices especially the cost for breakfast either standard or the lovely kippers - drawback that stops them getting full marks is the time it takes them to cook it which is very slow

Probably the best value breakfast in town. I had the full which even comes with free hot drink and husband had the poached egg and kippers. Delicious and no grease on the plate. Had to wait a while but it was well worth it. Last week had lunch there too and the toad in hole was nice and the chicken strogonoff was amazing.

Loved this place. We (six of us) ended up lining the table with all the Filippo food and having a bit of each. It was all wonderful...even the hot dish I thought may be too hot...it was more warm and gently spiced. Will most DEFINATELY be back.

Booked a cream tea here for last Wednesday to celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversary. It was absolutely wonderful. Very large scones with pots of cream and jam, two pots of tea and a slice of gateau each and the price was very reasonable. The staff were very helpful and the manager was brilliant. Will definitely visit again next time we are in Hastings.
