It must have been a couple of years since the last time we were here but the cafe is just as good as it was then. It is light and airy with plenty of seating, both inside and outside. Even though it was late when we dropped in, very close to closing time, the friendly staff were quite happy to serve us and our freshly made drinks were up to the usual good NT standard and tasted good.

The gardens were lovely, however we wanted to have tea in the topiary garden. So disappointing. The scones were awful they were so hard! ( it's not difficult to make a fresh scone). Paper cups, paper basin for the scone and victoria sponge. Cardboard knives! Cardboard spoons ! What ever has happened to enjoying a piece of cake and a cup of tea on a proper plate. Has this lackadaisical attitude evolved since lockdown? (It seems the case in many other places too). Or are we becoming a "can't be bothered society".

Place was dirty, staff unhelpful. They couldn’t do any gluten free options and wouldn’t let us buy something from the store to bring in. Asked for double shot Americana, staff instead suggested filtered coffee. Big mistake. Luke warm, under strength. I’m amazed that Tesco allow this sort of poor service & quality in what is a large store.

I went to this Starbucks and the lady behind the counter didn’t have a clue what she was doing and when I asked for a cooler/milkshake she didn’t even know what I wasn’t on about and said she couldn’t serve me what I was asking for then I found out it was called a Frappuccino and who’s going to remember that only going there twice

We were regular users of the old Carlyles despite living in Hampshire , the drive was worth it. Today we sampled the new cafe now called Whittakers. Positive points friendly staff and now dog friendly. Negative points food average and the breakfast omelette is now served with a hash brown instead of the little fried spuds of old.

Disgusted by Lee Murphy's behavior tonight, a complete disrespect to this company. As someone who has spent a lot at this club, you have lost my business forever.

Nice milkshakes, large selection to choose from however every single solitary time I have come here, it has taken well over 15 minutes to get one simple milkshake even if I’m the only one in the store

The girl that works in this coffee shop is the rudest and most aggressive person I've ever had serve me. Slamming things about and shouting £3.30 at me just because I interrupted her cigarette. How she has this job astounds me...I'll make my own coffee from now on.

As this is the first cafe/bar after the train station we thought lets go in for 1. No service, no-one around so left and thought we would come back on our way back. Advertising bar open, second visit was appalling, rude staff said no time to serve us at the bar even though no one in there. Gone right down hill since previous owner. Wont bother again

If I could give 0 stars I would, came here on Wednesday morning and by Wednesday evening was sick from the chicken breakfast baguette. The staff turn over is mad and I’m beginning to wonder why. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET ILL!!

Was really looking forward to trying out this new bakery. Ambiguity as to whether it had open yet (looked open - but no signage or opening-hours info displayed) for a couple of weeks leading up to apparent opening. Saw some assistants at the counter, and tentatively stuck my head through the door to politely ask. But one assistant (American sounding) just gave me the dirtiest look - like I had trespassed, and curtly replied it wasn't, as they were just making up some of the produce. I then enquired when it would be open, and received a similar response. I left at that. 2-3 weeks later was passing and had noticed it opened, so popped in. The same assistant gave me the same look and - in a rude tone - addressed me as "buddy". i ignored him and spoke to his more courteous colleague. Though to tell you the truth I'd already been put off. I'll just wait for Ole & Steen bakery to open in the High Street. Appalling!

Until recently this cafe provided excellent hone made panini’s and soups as well as hone made cakes. I would have rated 5 stars. However, the food is still OK but they have stopped a lot of the home made stuff in favour of brought in products which are not as good as their hone made offering.

I had heard a lot about this place and decided to rty it. The place was spotlessly clean and we were served pretty quickly and was very friendly and welcoming. All food is cooked to order. There was no delay in getting the food. I had a mixed grill. But it was more a glorified breakfast. Decent size portion and the food was cooked nicely. But nothing to write home about. This is a place where you are satisfied, but not overly impressed food wise. But the warm and welcoming atmosphere makes up for it. I would certainly have no problem going there again.
