Excellent breakfast, and bacon sandwich - the best quality i have had in a cafe for a long time - staff really friendly, and service fantastic.

We love going to the Thirsty Bear. They have some of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The calzone is amazing and I highly recommend the gluten-free pizzas as well.

The restaurant is the sister restaurant of TN12, which we have visited a number of times and is generally very good. This restaurant offers breakfast/brunch and tapas menus. We visited for lunch midweek, hoping to test out the tapas menu. We ordered, only for the waitress to come back a few minutes later to say that they had no chicken, which eliminated some of our choices. We selected some alternatives only for the waitress to come back to say the chef had now decided not to offer tapas today! It is extraordinary that a restaurant runs out of a key ingredient on a Wednesday lunchtime - especially when there is a perfectly good butcher 100 yards away who would no doubt have sold them as much chicken as they needed. We ordered from the brunch menu - the steak sandwich was very good but sadly the poached eggs on toast were overdone and hard. The ambience was nice and the waitress helpful but sadly it is unlikely we will visit again.

Popped in on sunday for a carvery, the staff were very attentive to my gluten free allergy! A massive thank you to the team for taking it so seriously and making sure i still had all the benefits of a carvery

Absolutely great Sunday lunch. With decent slow cooked roasts. The food was fresh and really tasted great, and was quite reasonably priced for the location and content. I normally don't have turkey, and I find it dry, but here it was very moist and tasted brilliant, and the selection of veg just went very well. The photos may look ordinary, but it's the taste of everything was very good. I have had my share of bland roasts, this was not one of them. Also 'refills' of Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes were given! The place was really easy to get to, had a great crowd and good ambience. They also seemed to do a bottomless brunch on Saturday, though those need to be reserved. Great drinks selection too! All the staff were very attentive, and our particular server, Pawini, was very helpful and pleasant! Will be visiting again, especially for the brunch, and maybe with friends and family.

Not particularly attentive staff. I asked if the Landon salad was smoked bacon and was told "no". I really do not like smoked bacon so I ordered it, however the bacon was smoked, not a problem, I just didn't eat it. I pointed out to the girl that cleared our table that it was smoked when I had asked. Absolutely no feedback from anyone. Won't be returning.

Ordered a raspberry mojito but they served a strawberry. Asked them to change to the raspberry but got a really sarcastic and rude response and they didn’t replace my drink. Really poor service again

Our amazing rack of ribs was the best lunch to go with the great service, friendly locals, and rich history. So fun

Came here with my mum yesterday for coffee and cake and had a slice of the most delicious lemon cake! Staff were so friendly and accommodating and the cafe had such a lovely vibe! Will definitely be returning!

I came to the pond house to meet friends Debbie looked after us very well we love coming to visit the team at the pond house we are made to feel very welcome great place to meet up with friends for drinks and food
