What an amazing time we had here. The food was great and the staff were so friendly. We spoke to this one lovely lady called Katy and she was so fun and chatty and the family had a great time.

Absolutely great Sunday lunch. With decent slow cooked roasts. The food was fresh and really tasted great, and was quite reasonably priced for the location and content. I normally don't have turkey, and I find it dry, but here it was very moist and tasted brilliant, and the selection of veg just went very well. The photos may look ordinary, but it's the taste of everything was very good. I have had my share of bland roasts, this was not one of them. Also 'refills' of Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes were given! The place was really easy to get to, had a great crowd and good ambience. They also seemed to do a bottomless brunch on Saturday, though those need to be reserved. Great drinks selection too! All the staff were very attentive, and our particular server, Pawini, was very helpful and pleasant! Will be visiting again, especially for the brunch, and maybe with friends and family.

We went there for a Sunday roast. We ordered a group one supposedly to be enough for the table. We were 4 of us and it is better to order individual ones we were not impressed with the size of the group Sunday roast. You can repeat on potatoes, gravy and yorkshire puddings but it took too long to get more. One of the members of staff, I think Spanish, tried to fixed the issue quickly and helped a lot.

Lovely pub and great atmosphere, had a really good time with my friends after a great day out, but the reason I am writing my review is to thank Hesham who so kindly posted my jacket back to me which I had left on the back of my chair. I am not local and thought it was lost forever, so I can't thank Hesham enough for taking the time out at their own cost to return it to me. What super people work there, and that for me makes all the difference. You are superstars!

£16 for two pints, a laughable £8 for a pint of lager, only there to rip off the tourists, take my advice walk over the Thames into Eton where you'll find a great choice of pubs and restaurants that are fairly priced and have a far better experience.

Initially went for food but was told to wait for table to be free. Staff behind bar were very polite but when we mentioned again about wanting to eat we were told to.find table in dining area and wait for it to be cleared. Table was eventually cleared of dirty glasses but was left dirty(wet marks and spilt salt) Drinks ridiculous price,£16 for 2 pints. Music was loud and awful smell from the ladies toilets which other customers also mentioned. We’re local but won’t be returning! Left and went elsewhere to eat.

I lived in Windsor for 9 years and never went to this place. Finally went in and it was dirty and awful. It certainly isn't as nice as the pubs name. The food came slow considering it was 1/4 full and when it arrive it was cold. Literally Ice cold, my food was still frozen. I complained and they genuinely didn't care. They took it out back and just put it in the microwave. Probably because of the high footfall of tourists as it's opposite the train station so they genuinely don't care. The biggest downside is that you're paying £8 for a pint. Absolutely insane. To all tourists spending your money in Windsor, just walk up the hill and there's some great local pubs that serve great food and cheaper drinks with a better atmosphere.

We booked a month in advance but upon arriving it was fairly quiet so you might get away without booking. The service was good, and the food was served quickly. It was nice food but it did arrive lukewarm. I should've mentioned something but me and my partner were so hungry and tired we just ate the food. It was affordable as I expected Windsor to be quite expensive, so we were pleased with the quality of the food for the price we paid. It was a lovely pub, so I would recommend if you're looking for a nice drink when visiting Windsor.

A restaurant ideally located for dining before or after visiting Windsor Castle. The cuisine is quality and the waiter was adorable during our lunchtime meal! Thank you for this lovely welcome!

Great pub in Windsor for the drinks and food, as well as a great venue to watch any live sport. Wonderful service from the crew, especially Katy & Chloe who were awesome at looking after us during the game!

We have visited the Royal Windsor on many occasions, we have always been impressed, but today's visit was disappointing, we ordered the fish platter, it was horrible, tasteless and obviously dragged from the freezer!!!

Tourist trap, hence expensive drinks - even for these times. £17.30 for a pint of Neck Oil and a single Vodka and tonic. Wetherspoons is around the corner!

This pub is in a great location and would be fine for drinks, however, the Sunday roast left a lot to be desired, my beef sirloin was cooked to death to the point I could not cut through it. I politely mentioned this to the waiter who then proceeded to bring me another portion of sirloin, which was also overcooked to the point of well done, again I could not cut through this either. My other fellow dining companions who had ordered beef had the same issue. Sadly you have to pay for your food at the bar at the point of order, so no recompense.

We had the bottomless brunch and the food and service was amazing!! Great value for money, great location (5 min walk from Windsor Castle and Windsor & Eton train station), lovely friendly staff and large beer garden equipped with large screen tv’s - a must for all football fans. I highly recommend this place!!

I have been here twice, the first time was for a casual lunch. I had the fish and chips and they were amazing! Fish was definitely rivalling any chippy! Chips not so much but still good and above average for a pub. My wife had the gluten free steak and Stilton pie and WOW! Easily the best pie either of us had had let alone the best gluten free pastry! The second time was a massive group of us in the private room for a party. The staff were very attentive (checking on us for drinks etc) despite it being very busy downstairs. There was a mistake with food (our fault not the pubs) and the blonde male (apologies for lack of name) was very quick to rectify the situation. There is so much for I can add, but all around and amazing place and we will be returning. Thank you!

General manager was extremely rude, which is shocking considering his role. He told my friend to “use the bathroom at the station across the road” instead of letting her use the bathroom in the pub because he was obviously being prejudice and didn’t like the look of her. When I emailed to escalate the complaint I received a response that completely ignored most of what I said, when I replied to say that he had misread my email he lied and said he did! Which was completely false. Really rude and unprofessional from a general manager

Fairly standard pub. Reasonable service. Good view of the castle. Felt corporate, large space outside

Rather average restaurant. Our burgers were way overcooked and the service was a little disorganized and rushed. The desserts were already on the table, we had not yet finished the dish. Too bad, because the setting is nice and a stone's throw from the castle.

Being in Windsor, expectation can be high. Food and service was OK. Had a roast which was a bit disappointing and the waitress poured gravey down my father but overall was OK and we laughed about it.

A lovely woman named katy served me and my friends and she had a great humor and made our night so much more entertaining and comfortable!

Katy’s service was absolutely spiffing—so good, in fact, that I’m convinced she might be a wizard in disguise. She handled everything with such charm and efficiency that I half expected her to pull a rabbit out of a hat at the end. If all customer service was this good, I’d be looking for excuses to call every day. Bravo, Katy and her fine self!

Lovely pub to watch the six nations. The food was great and the service from Sunny was 10/10 - he is a credit to the place!

Not a bad place, but short-measure pint by nearly an inch (shouldn't need to request a top up on a brim measure glass), and food was only just ok. Tables sticky enough to make your shirt stick to it!😬 Elected not to stay for a second drink or dessert.

Stopped by to watch a 6 Nations match on a Sunday afternoon. There were several large screens which was great but it was difficult to find a table as it was full inside and in the beer garden. Service was fairly fast but this might be the most expensive pub I've been to. At £8.30 for a pint, it's more expensive than most places I've visited in central London.

Best pub in Windsor! Sit on the patio looking at the castle! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was attentive and so kind! I would highly recommend a visit!

Came for a quick drink. Beautiful place. Smart yet casual. Great choice of drinks. Very friendly service. Beer garden in the back. Probably the closest pub to the train station. Drinks were reasonably priced but didn't think the beer was great (think it was the first one of the day).

Decent atmosphere but questionable cleanliness in entire restaurant (and loos were filthy). Chicken dish with bbq sauce was revolting. Drinks fine but food is poor to very bad.

Very expensive proper tourist trap right by the station. Possibly most expensive bar in Windsor. I'd skip and head over to eton for much more charm or the boatman for a river view

We had a delicious afternoon tea with so much food that we had to ask for take away cartons to take home. The service was good specially Sunny who served is with a smile. I would highly recommend trying this venue. The food being served to other tables looked lovely too so we will probably return to try something different next time.

As Windsor residents we decided to pop into town for a few drinks, we arrived here thinking we would have a cocktail or two but were disappointed with the cocktail menu so ended up having a pint and a vodka & Diet Coke for an outrageous cost of £17.70! I don’t mind paying for drinks but the barman was quite miserable for NYE no atmosphere in the pub so we won’t be going back anytime soon! After drinking in London a few times which can be expensive but the atmosphere and welcoming staff make a big difference!

We sat down for lunch. There was no fish, lasagna, or steak (we were told this after the holiday, since they had first left us 10 L with the list). We got cheeseburgers (good, but small and with pre-frozen fries) and 1 English pie with meat and mash (very very good). Quite expensive especially the burgers for what they offered (18.5 pounds i.e. about 22 euros). We only drank water so the price (£75) was for 4 portions, no starters or salad etc. Atmosphere very nice, a traditional English country pub. Toilets clean, service polite and relatively fast. With a little more organization and a more competitive menu or prices it will reach 4 or 5 stars.

Our first impression was it was a nice looking pub but that is not our experience. Firstly there are so many servers but none that will wait a table. We had to ask someone to clear our table after walking past multiple times. All order needs to be done at the bar. Very inconvenient when you are trying to sit and dine. Then the food! Steak was very tough and sinue ridden. Double chicken burger only had one breast and a sad excuse for what we were told was chicken. The other Burgers had little to no trace of coleslaw’s and sauces as stated on the menu. They were small, dry and bland and far too expensive. Chips were stale and then there was the ‘cheesecake’! The texture somewhat resembled polenta chips- granulated and stale. Not even the children could stomach it. This was by far the most expensive meal we have had and by far the most disappointing. I was with family and didn’t want to say anything but as I was waiting for the other guests at our table I overheard another table complaining about the same thing. I realise you are in a tourist destination but charging these prices for this level of food is robbery. You ruined what was supposed to be a memorable evening and did nothing to refund or compensate us when I pointed it out.

We were in the pub right at the train station at the beginning of December and were given a very friendly welcome. The fish and chips were excellent, the portion was huge and our waitress Sunny was extremely friendly. I can recommend it at any time!

made a booking received an email confirmation saying that my booking is confirmed. However, upon arriving , the server said it’s not found. Usually I don’t have an issue as the system can have issues but there was absolutely a lack of effort in trying to seat us despite showing my confirmation . All he did was offering a table for 3 people for 5 of us. His attitude was very indifferent and appalling . We saw many empty tables and I checked on google on the spot where it showed available seats. Would never ever come back . I did recall coming many years back and wasn’t impressed with the service too. Buck up!

Lovely pub, great food and service

We enjoyed a delightful late lunch after visiting the castle. The service was excellent, with Dee, our waitress, being exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was also very good and satisfying.

None of us had been here before and I definitely recommend. The Sunday lunch was lovely with unlimited supply of Yorkshire puds, potatoes and gravy!. The staff were amazing, very attentive and helpful. A lovely afternoon and well definitely return!

Get rid of the “suggested tips” on credit card machines this place has decided to adopt! As an American I can tell you that you want to STOP the invasion of this annoying of practice begging for tips into the UK.

That's great, really good staff and food, they have a new member, so nice the Spanish guy, I've already had it served in another restaurant, and I came back for it, it's good to know that now I'll have it every time I have a glass of wine before leaving for London. Recommended Fish and Chips

Came here with the expectations of a lovely hot Sunday roast in the heart of Windsor but unfortunately was disappointed and this has to be one of the worst roasts I have ever had. I ordered the lamb shank roast which was suppose to come with mint red wine gravy . Came with regular gravy. The roast potatoes were straight from a frozen packet and reheated with no seasoning . The carrots and parsnips cold and lifeless with no seasoning. The Yorkshire pudding , rubbish. The chef clearly has no passion or care in what he or she does which is reflected into the roast which was served. The lamb shank tasted like it was cooked in water & every single element on my plate was lacking seasoning and heat . The service was good however I came here for a delicious Sunday roast and left very disappointed.

The only reason ☆☆☆ for the atmosphere is that it was early and some maintenance was in progress. Sunny island credit to the pub, the brewery, and the country. Such a lovely welcoming gentleman. Grest breakfast

Really good pub near to Windsor castle

Lovely meal here last Monday night following a visit to Windsor Castle. Pre booked via their website (very handy) and when we got there were shown straight to our table. Excellent service (thank you Sam & Pawani). Very tasty food, good portion size and good value for money.

Good ambiente atmosphere, not noisy so you can enjoy conversations with ease. We had the Turkey Sunday roast, lamb shank, burger and a kids fish and chips, all were very good portions and very tasty, topped off with desserts. The cheesecake was absolutely amazing. Very good food and would recommend any of the above.

Good food and a good choice of wines 🍷and beer 🍻 and the staff are friendly enough, décor could do with an update as it's look a bit tired!! But it's well worth a visit 👍👍👍

Lovely pub, friendly and helpful staff. Only disappointments were they sold out of mushroom Wellington ( we are veggies ), and sold out of white peach gin.

Food was awful. Grey mash and gristle in pie. Fish was tiny and overcooked and very dry.

Came in for our daughter’s birthday to have lunch, she specifically wanted a steak, she said it was perfect 👌We were all really happy with the food quality, the surroundings were calm and welcoming. The staff were really lovely, looked after us well, and presented her with a free dessert because it was her birthday. Would definitely recommend!

Sadly not a great experience here for our friends 30th birthday. Having booked a table for 15 on the website - we had been split across 5 separate tables in the rain out of sight of each other to accommodate the football which wasn't ideal. A member of the team then very kindly offered to source us a table inside, however as we were next to the wait here to be seated sign, we were shouted at to get outside as we were blocking the way. A member of our party said we're just waiting for the table to be sorted and then we'll be out of the way - he was instantly barred for "talking back". After 30 minutes of back and forth, and being kicked outside and told he will not be served but the rest of us can come in now, we were finally seated as a group. Once arrived, food was absolutely lovely and is the saving grace to return it to 2 stars, but sadly a sour note put on a 30th birthday by the unnecessary drama and attitudes given to customers here. Avoid if in large groups or clashing with football timings. UPDATE: Had initially removed this review as staff attempted to recover the situation, but after being called out by name and confronted at the table in front of the party by staff I have re-added it. Really not good treatment of customers here.

I had an amazing experience at the Royal Windsor pub! I had a great time with my friends in such a beautiful location, with a stunning view of the castle. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfectly blending traditional charm with modern comfort. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we felt right at home. I especially enjoyed the Aperol Spritz tree, which was both delicious and a fun addition to our evening. The food was also fantastic, particularly the Lamb shank and the drinks selection was top-notch. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great place to unwind and enjoy good company!

The food wasn't the best for the price 😕 they must changed hands they had one chap running around. My husband asked for bread and butter with his fish and chips he got toast. Everything you touched was sticky. Not the best place to go.

Update to my review: They replied saying thanks for my feedback and look forward to seeing me back soon. Obviously they cant even be bothered reading my review. And no you won't be seeing me or my family back soon...or ever. I am local and have been going to this pub for at least 7 years but on our last visit the quality of the food was pretty average at best with my main course a complete insult to paying customers. Had fish and chips a few time before and it was always done right, crunchy and golden on the outside, juicy and flaky on the inside. This time I was served a dry fish with soggy batter and I have no doubt it was heated in a microwave....same thing we the peas, just shrivelled heated over and over. Complained right away and said I didnt want my fish and chips and to issue the refund and the waiter kept on insisting they bring me another one, obviously cooked fresh but that was too late. Eventually someone from the kitchen came to ask what's wrong with the food and offered a replacement which I refused again and got a refund. Just the fact they thought they could get away with serving that type of food and charge £20 for fish and chips is shocking. The other 4 main dishes we had were just average and overpriced. Pair that with sticky dirty menus and overall service means I'm not stepping foot again in this place.

Don't use their app to order! I was charged twice for my order. The barman, who was helpful throughout, was quick to refund it though. My starters and mains came at the same time which was also blamed on the app. On a sunny day the outside area is really to sit in. All the food we had was nice but nothing spectacular. They have a good selection of draught beers so I'd be more inclined to return for a drink.

Good place for a drink but food is very average. Didnt even have stock of basic ingredients for things on the menu
