Rose & Crown in Sevenoaks

Stopped by the Rose & Crown after a country walk, and it was the perfect choice. A proper (slightly more boutique) pub with a great atmosphere, an extensive menu full of pub classics (all done really well), and genuinely fantastic service. Andy, our server, was an absolute legend—funny, welcoming, and hands down the best service I’ve had in a long time. Will definitely be back!

Good location,well appointed. Lets itself down by poor service. We had to wait nearly an hour for first drink.one vodk and tonic was served up in three glasses. One with vodka one with tonic and one with ice,no lemon for dressing. Only two waiters for the vast seating areas Food only just reasonable Great shame as the venue was well presented and clean

We’ve been several times before and always had fabulous food. Our server, Ash was brilliant. Very attentive, helpful and friendly. Also extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Yesterday’s visit was for my 50th Birthday, Ash was so helpful and understanding with lots of presents to open which delayed us slightly. He bought my cake out at the right time and generally fabulous!!

A lovely, warm pub with great food options and most importantly impeccable service. Shout out to Andy who really looked after us and accommodated all of our needs. We’ll definitely be back and thank you again Andy

A wonderful Valentine’s Day meal

Really nice pub - very good atmosphere, all the staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is also excellent - highly recommend the pork belly. Andy in particular was incredibly welcoming, very attentive and overall made the experience very memorable!

Came for valentines night. Our server Andy was so nice to us, charming, helpful and polite. The food was fantastic and we enjoyed some lovely drinks. I would highly recommend. The live entertainment singer was a bonus too!

Myself and my wife regularly come to the Rose and crown and have done for many years. And I can say undoubtedly that we have never had a bad experience or meal here, the management and staff are friendly and helpful and always make our visits relaxing and pleasant. 100% thank you to all.

Terrible christmas lunch. Left waiting for food for 90mins. We were left embarrassed in front of our friends who had come a long way to join us for a xmas meal. The pub manager was sat on a table near the bar and rolled her eyes when we asked for the service charges to be taken off the bill. Pathetic.

Food excellent. I had fishcake starter, chicken skewer, lemon tart. Range of flavours, textures and colours made meal enjoyable. Great service from Ash the multi tasker and colleagues.

We had a fantastic meal here, the chocolate orange dome is definitely worth saving room for! Service was great and attentive and Andy was great for service and help! Our dog Finlay would rate 10 stars based on the treats and attention he received!

Amazing food. We went in before Christmas. I chose the MOROCCAN-SPICED CHICKEN BREAST. It was really juicy and the side with FETA SALAD & TOASTED TORTILLA was great a combination. Highly recommended! Went back again yesterday and as before we loved the food. Atmosphere is so lovely. I had prawn skewers and my partner has the slow cooked pork belly. Both delicious!!

Lovely place! Super cosy with a warm fire which was needed on a cold evening. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was spot on—friendly and welcoming staff. Will definitely be coming back!

We had a fabulous meal at rose and crown Andy our favourite server who we have known for many years being regulars recommended the chateaubriand which was absolutely fabulous would highly recommend. Andy could not do enough for us and makes the evening fab.

Apparently, Andy isn't the highest rated member of staff?!?. I'm convinced there's some kind of conspiracy here. Andy has served my family and I at this location for over ten years. No one deserves a higher vote than him. If the figures suggest otherwise, someone's cheating.

We had a fantastic meal here, the Chateaubriand was an excellent recommendation from Andy. Speaking of Andy, he is an OG. In all the years I've been coming to this pub he has been a staple. Always provides first class service, excellent banter. He makes dining at the Rose and Crown well worth the visit. I thoroughly recommend the food and ambiance at the Rose and Crown, and Andy is a living legend!

Fantastic pub, we always have the best time here, the food and service is amazing. Tonight we were served by Ash as we have been many times before and he is a real credit to the pub.

Our waiter Ash was an absolute superstar, very patient with listening to me about my allergy (dairy) and came fourth with a dessert recommendation that was beautiful! The menu was lovely, with a wide selection to choose from. And finally the atmosphere of the pub, brilliant. We sat by a glimmering coal fire and everything was clean, tidy, warm and welcoming.

Andy is the best waiter, he truly his amazing. He is really kind and genuine. He always make us feel welcome and he really bring the dinning experience to a max. The food & drinks are really tasty. 14/01/2025 - A new year and we are back again. We love this place again and again. Thank you so much to Sharon are fabulous server. Arrived today with my wife at opening time and was met by a woman who just looked at us. I said Hi, do you have a table for two please she said have you booked, I said sorry didn't know I had to, I was then told we are very busy ,she was off hand to say the least ,then said your lucky I can fit you in and showed us to a small table right by the entrance , it looked uncomfortable ,the weather was freezing, My wife who is disabled said can we possibly sit at a more comfortable table inside the restaurant which by the way was completely empty. The reply was an abrupt no. My wife and I are both in our 80s and unfamiliar with such off hand treatment .At that point I declined the table and said if we ever come back I will book and hopefully be offered a better table. We then went to the local Toby restaurant, the staff couldn't be more helpful and polite , one even showed me how to go on line using my phone because Toby where giving a 50% discount on the day. We see on the news all the time Pub's are closing down at an alarming rate, with that kind of service at your establishment I'm not surprised. I was in business for over 50 years and always remembered I was only as good last my last job.

Flew in from Sydney Australia last week and was recommended this lovely establishment to dine in. Walked in to a very warm welcome from the host and once we were seated, our waitress Molly was incredibly attentive, funny, and very sweet. Poor girl had to put up with our antics all evening and did so with a smile on her face. The food was DELICIOUS. Flavour bursting through the lamb skewers, chicken pie, and apply rhubarb cumble. Could not recommend this place enough. Thank you all for your amazing hospitality!

Came for a super Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. Andy looked after us extremely well, was very jovial and great with food and drink suggestions. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and he handled the fact that two of our party turned up late very well. Sunday roasts were delicious - the beef was perfectly 'pink'. My only negative is that I didn't have room for dessert. I'll go easy for m the starters next time!

Regardless of booking we had to wait an hour for the table on Boxing Day. We were seated in pretty plain and crowded room without much of Christmas atmosphere. The food which we had to wait long for was tasty but portions could be bit bigger and more garnished. Overall good enough but surely could be done better with little more effort. Tip was left out of sympathy for clearly overwhelmed staff rather than our experience.

Ash was a really lovely waiter & host. He was very attentive to us during our meal and we had a great over all experience during our NYD lunch.

We went to the Rose & Crown for Christmas day lunch and it was amazing. Food was great and the staff were very cheerful and helpful considering they had to work on the day. Andy our waiter was especially great and looked after us well. They even gave everyone a Christmas card from the staff. Lovely atmosphere and people!

Really disappointed with our recent experience. To start with there was a mix up with our drinks order which we confirmed twice. When trying to clarify which drink was which the staff seemed clueless. The mains took forever to arrive even though the pub wasn’t that full. Our group consisted of kids so we requested them to bring the kids food at least as we had been waiting quite a long time. The food arrived 1.5 hours later, by that time kids were really hungry and tired. Even after all this there was no acknowledgment of the poor service and they even added service charge to the bill which we asked to remove at the end of course. Spoilt our entire Christmas lunch with friends. Was the first time we visited, certainly going to be the last.

Very sad and disappointing service. Booked a christmas festive lunch. Left utterly disappointed, made to wait for 100mins+ for the food to be served. We kept on requesting for the kids meals to be served atleast but nothing from the staff. Kids were tired, hungry, angry by the time their food arrived. We wanted to have a full 3-course meal but didnt order any desserts in the end for we were already so frustrated with everything. (We went to Bromley for a coffee and cake later). Can I just add the food is below average too. The mac n cheese side was so rubbish (made in some weird strong cheese) that we left it as is. For the pub, it might be a conveyor belt, but they should try appreciate and acknowledge that for the customers, it is one special event of gathering with friends and family in the hope to have a good time. Skip this one as there are plenty better pubs in the area. PS - they had the audacity to add service charge on your bill! That obviously we asked to be removed.

Really poor experience. Arrived at 7:45 for a booking. Mains ordered within 5 mins and didn’t arrive till 8:45. Over a 45 min wait for a starter. A further 35 min wait for the mains after the starters were cleared away. Starters were also cold Avoid at all costs- plenty of better options in town.

Food was amazing, service even better l! Ash is the most accommodating, friendly and welcoming host. Will definitely be back and recommending to our friends and family. Merry Christmas to your whole team.

My trip was for my works Christmas do. Menu had a good choice of food. The price for a 3 course meal was a good deal. I had a turkey roast the flavours were very taste. Service was really great Ash done amazing. Thank you for our lovely welcome and great service.

We were a large family party of sixteen and we were looked after with friendly helpful staff but the service unfortunately was slow throughout the visit. We had the choice of a set Christmas menu or a la carte at reasonable prices. Portions were good and the food also paticularly the quality of the turkey. The pub is welcoming and well maintained with several different eating areas.

Had a lovely evening here as a Pre-Christmas get together with friends, warm welcome from our Waitress who was well informed and helpful throughout the evening, & we could not have asked for more. The Restaurant itself however was a bit chilly & it would have been nice if the fire had been alight. We chose from the Christmas Menu, the majority of us selected a Starter & a Main course, the portions were plentiful, most chose Roast Turkey or SeaBass which were enjoyed, but the person who chose the Steak did find it a bit tough & with rather a lot of tomatoes! The wine flowed throughout our meal & we all said we had enjoyed the evening

Poor. Way over priced. £28 for a vegetarian roast. Wow. This is not the Savoy, it’s the Rose and Crown in Dunton Green. Absolute madness. Having suggested to friends we come to this pub we were embarrassed when the bill came.

We had a family meet up here as this was a very convenient location with plenty of parking. The restaurant was busy but the service was not impacted and we were really well looked after. There was a good selection of drinks and food. The food was very tasty and we were very happy.

We had a great welcome from Andy who served us diligently through our relaxed Sunday lunch. We all enjoyed what we ordered, again with Andy's guidance. I particularly enjoyed the skewer option as I wasn't up to a full-blown roast. There's no doubt that we will revisit next time we are in the area.
