We had a delicious meal at the Rose and Crown last week. The Sunday roast was delicious (plenty of gravy which was super tasty) portions are good value for money and service/atmosphere was also great. Would also recommend the Camembert sharer, it’s awesome! Have already booked to come back next month with a different group of people and very much looking forward to it!

Have just had a lovely evening, food was delicious, all the staff were welcoming and friendly, sharron who served us was very helpful and informative about the specials. Can't wait to go again.

All meals were excellent, service was good but not over powering, definitely try the pavlova.

Nicely positioned pub and ample parking and pleasant, friendly staff/servers. We always go for lunch here and generally have fish dishes, usually Seabass or Fish Cakes but they're always served with ghastly Tenderstem Broccoli which I'm sure comes pre-cooked in packs and then is reheated, if your lucky! On the few occasions we've had this it has been barely warm and so hard to cut with a knife - hardly tenderstem! We've sent it nsckyand got Peas instead. Generally the food looks appetising but is not that hot which annoys me. We are holding off going again this week even with a 40% discount because of this. Why cannot the kitchen get these simple things right?

Honestly- second visit in 4 weeks and the roast is simply amazing! The 3 meat roast was delicious, service is great!

Party of six adults and four children were accommodated with a warm welcome. We were looked after by Ash who was extremely professional and a true ambassador for the restaurant. The food was excellent and a lovely cosy atmosphere was enjoyed by all .

The fish and chips are, in my opinion, the best in the area. The fish portion is generous and is covered in a lovely, crispy batter and the large chips are crispy but soft. The mushy peas portion was generous too. Added to this the friendly staff, in particular, Sharon and Andy, are excellent.

I recently visited this pub for food and drinks both were very good, the staff were friendly, the pub has a cozy, comfortable atmosphere.

Great food and very friendly staff

Good service but food came separately and cold

Good value and very tasty. All 3 of us enjoyed our food. We had slow cooked lamb, fish and chips and fish cakes. The menu was great with a lot of choices and each dish had calories next to it. I had the fishcakes which were just under 650 calories I think. Usually lower calories often means the dish can be a bit boring but this was delicious. Hubby and son had pud ( I had a spoon to taste them!). They had brownie and sticky toffee pudding both superb. Our waiter was lovely and looked after us very well. We were served quickly and he asked about food allergies ( I can’t have tomatoes so he checked the fish cake was ok for me to have). The pub is traditional but in a modern updated way and is decorated very nicely with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend eating here.

We had lunch which was lovely. Sara was a true asset to your team. She was extremely attentive, engaging in conversation and full of recommendations which we love. The only thing that really let it down is when we sat in the garden for drinks after- coffee cups were dirty and had to be sent back, and milk Jug came and had old gravy floating in the Jug. Really unfortunate as we had a lovely time, just the cleanliness at the end of our visit let it down. Hopefully this was just an off day for the bar, but had a lovely time otherwise

Great pub (but the prices are creeping up and the dishes getting slightly less, hence not five stars......) friendly staff and Sara looked after us really well, very friendly and efficient. Dining area very clean.

Great service from Ash, but let down slightly by some of the food. Meat was good, but poataoes were very tough to cut. Would come again if in the neighbourhood.

I had a great experience at this pub for my mum's birthday. Great food and great service. My pie was phenomenal and I will definitely return. Thanks to Ash for the excellent service. 🥧

When I visited recently I ordered the sea bass, when it arrived the skin was burnt black and the fish was shrunken and dry from being overcooked. If the waitress, who was obviously new, had not been under such a lot of pressure, I would have complained and sent the meal back to the kitchen. I await your reply before I visit the Rose and Crown again.

After having a very bad experience a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday evening. We used our voucher given to us an apology. We had the most delicious meal. So many thanks. Hopefully we will be back soon.

Five of us, restaurant busy but still great service, from the moment we entered the bar until we left great service. Our server Ash once again was attentive without bringing overpowering, shout out to Andy although busy spent the time to come over and chat to us. Food as usual was great with everyone having a lovely evening, thanks Rose and Crown, all the staff had a smiling face and were pleased to help in any way. If you haven’t visited yet then you are missing out.

This is a real gem of a pub with fantastic food, attentive service and great atmosphere. We were looked after by Sharon who was exceptional, she really couldn't do enough. We will definitely be back.

Always lovely friendly service.

It was a busy Saturday night in july, "I get it," so I can accept the long wait for the food . But when it did arrive, it was awful....the chicken burger and bean burger was left in the fryer too long and was tough... the fish & chips were the same overcooked and dehydrated .. the signature burger was overdone... but what I just don't get is why on all five dishes, the chips were cold..will chefs, please stop leaving chips under a hot light, thinking they are acceptable. People dont mind waiting for the food as long as it gets sent out perfectly. What we received was a disaster.... I only finished my dish because of hunger and the unexpected long wait..50% of the food was untouched...on the upside the young lady serving us was brilliant ... all the evening needed was one little table check, and then all the frustration about the food could have been pointed out to staff and resolved .
