The food was absolutely brilliant, Ash looked after our table and was incredibly friendly. Would definitely recommend coming here :))

Our waiter Ash was an absolute superstar, very patient with listening to me about my allergy (dairy) and came fourth with a dessert recommendation that was beautiful! The menu was lovely, with a wide selection to choose from. And finally the atmosphere of the pub, brilliant. We sat by a glimmering coal fire and everything was clean, tidy, warm and welcoming.

Excellent service, food of a good quality and portions were generous. Would definitely recommend. Book early as it was busy.

Fantastic pub, we always have the best time here, the food and service is amazing. Tonight we were served by Ash as we have been many times before and he is a real credit to the pub.

Andy is the best waiter, he truly his amazing. He is really kind and genuine. He always make us feel welcome and he really bring the dinning experience to a max. Arrived today with my wife at opening time and was met by a woman who just looked at us. I said Hi, do you have a table for two please she said have you booked, I said sorry didn't know I had to, I was then told we are very busy ,she was off hand to say the least ,then said your lucky I can fit you in and showed us to a small table right by the entrance , it looked uncomfortable ,the weather was freezing, My wife who is disabled said can we possibly sit at a more comfortable table inside the restaurant which by the way was completely empty. The reply was an abrupt no. My wife and I are both in our 80s and unfamiliar with such off hand treatment .At that point I declined the table and said if we ever come back I will book and hopefully be offered a better table. We then went to the local Toby restaurant, the staff couldn't be more helpful and polite , one even showed me how to go on line using my phone because Toby where giving a 50% discount on the day. We see on the news all the time Pub's are closing down at an alarming rate, with that kind of service at your establishment I'm not surprised. I was in business for over 50 years and always remembered I was only as good last my last job.

Came for a super Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. Andy looked after us extremely well, was very jovial and great with food and drink suggestions. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and he handled the fact that two of our party turned up late very well. Sunday roasts were delicious - the beef was perfectly 'pink'. My only negative is that I didn't have room for dessert. I'll go easy for m the starters next time!

Flew in from Sydney Australia last week and was recommended this lovely establishment to dine in. Walked in to a very warm welcome from the host and once we were seated, our waitress Molly was incredibly attentive, funny, and very sweet. Poor girl had to put up with our antics all evening and did so with a smile on her face. The food was DELICIOUS. Flavour bursting through the lamb skewers, chicken pie, and apply rhubarb cumble. Could not recommend this place enough. Thank you all for your amazing hospitality!

Regardless of booking we had to wait an hour for the table on Boxing Day. We were seated in pretty plain and crowded room without much of Christmas atmosphere. The food which we had to wait long for was tasty but portions could be bit bigger and more garnished. Overall good enough but surely could be done better with little more effort. Tip was left out of sympathy for clearly overwhelmed staff rather than our experience.

Ash was a really lovely waiter & host. He was very attentive to us during our meal and we had a great over all experience during our NYD lunch.

We went to the Rose & Crown for Christmas day lunch and it was amazing. Food was great and the staff were very cheerful and helpful considering they had to work on the day. Andy our waiter was especially great and looked after us well. They even gave everyone a Christmas card from the staff. Lovely atmosphere and people!

Very sad and disappointing service. Booked a christmas festive lunch. Left utterly disappointed, made to wait for 100mins+ for the food to be served. We kept on requesting for the kids meals to be served atleast but nothing from the staff. Kids were tired, hungry, angry by the time their food arrived. We wanted to have a full 3-course meal but didnt order any desserts in the end for we were already so frustrated with everything. (We went to Bromley for a coffee and cake later). Can I just add the food is below average too. The mac n cheese side was so rubbish (made in some weird strong cheese) that we left it as is. For the pub, it might be a conveyor belt, but they should try appreciate and acknowledge that for the customers, it is one special event of gathering with friends and family in the hope to have a good time. Skip this one as there are plenty better pubs in the area. PS - they had the audacity to add service charge on your bill! That obviously we asked to be removed.

Really disappointed with our recent experience. To start with there was a mix up with our drinks order which we confirmed twice. When trying to clarify which drink was which the staff seemed clueless. The mains took forever to arrive even though the pub wasn’t that full. Our group consisted of kids so we requested them to bring the kids food at least as we had been waiting quite a long time. The food arrived 1.5 hours later, by that time kids were really hungry and tired. Even after all this there was no acknowledgment of the poor service and they even added service charge to the bill which we asked to remove at the end of course. Spoilt our entire Christmas lunch with friends. Was the first time we visited, certainly going to be the last.

Really poor experience. Arrived at 7:45 for a booking. Mains ordered within 5 mins and didn’t arrive till 8:45. Over a 45 min wait for a starter. A further 35 min wait for the mains after the starters were cleared away. Starters were also cold Avoid at all costs- plenty of better options in town.

Food was amazing, service even better l! Ash is the most accommodating, friendly and welcoming host. Will definitely be back and recommending to our friends and family. Merry Christmas to your whole team.

My trip was for my works Christmas do. Menu had a good choice of food. The price for a 3 course meal was a good deal. I had a turkey roast the flavours were very taste. Service was really great Ash done amazing. Thank you for our lovely welcome and great service.

We were a large family party of sixteen and we were looked after with friendly helpful staff but the service unfortunately was slow throughout the visit. We had the choice of a set Christmas menu or a la carte at reasonable prices. Portions were good and the food also paticularly the quality of the turkey. The pub is welcoming and well maintained with several different eating areas.

Had a lovely annual family meal, food was great and service was exceptional. Great open fire atmosphere was lovely. Will be back again

Had a lovely evening here as a Pre-Christmas get together with friends, warm welcome from our Waitress who was well informed and helpful throughout the evening, & we could not have asked for more. The Restaurant itself however was a bit chilly & it would have been nice if the fire had been alight. We chose from the Christmas Menu, the majority of us selected a Starter & a Main course, the portions were plentiful, most chose Roast Turkey or SeaBass which were enjoyed, but the person who chose the Steak did find it a bit tough & with rather a lot of tomatoes! The wine flowed throughout our meal & we all said we had enjoyed the evening

Outrageously over priced. £28 for a vegetarian roast. Food was Ok, but receiving a bill like that (no prices on the menu) it was a shock. Completely unjustifiable.

We had a family meet up here as this was a very convenient location with plenty of parking. The restaurant was busy but the service was not impacted and we were really well looked after. There was a good selection of drinks and food. The food was very tasty and we were very happy.

We had a great welcome from Andy who served us diligently through our relaxed Sunday lunch. We all enjoyed what we ordered, again with Andy's guidance. I particularly enjoyed the skewer option as I wasn't up to a full-blown roast. There's no doubt that we will revisit next time we are in the area.

Went for a family meal on Saturday early evening to celebrate birthdays. Met with a nice welcome, shown our table. Ordered drinks and food, then waited. The first lot of drinks arrived, and I was still missing 3 drinks had to remind the waiter, it wasnt even that busy. We were then told they were out of burgers,their signature burger,the only signature burger on the menu! only one left this was a saturday night!. Eventually food arrived,apart from one person whose food arrived shen some of us were nearly finished. Looked at pudding menu,gave that a miss. Food was good.

Found this place on line when looking for a dog friendly restaurant, to meet family. Great find. We were given an area enclosed which was suitable for the dogs. Being a Vintage Inn we knew the food would be good but the waiter Alan was very friendly and gave a great explanation about the weekend menu! Service was just the right pace, we had chance to enjoy our food and rest before the next course. I would highly recommend this place for somewhere to visit with your dogs.

We had a delicious meal at the Rose and Crown last week. The Sunday roast was delicious (plenty of gravy which was super tasty) portions are good value for money and service/atmosphere was also great. Would also recommend the Camembert sharer, it’s awesome! Have already booked to come back next month with a different group of people and very much looking forward to it!

Have just had a lovely evening, food was delicious, all the staff were welcoming and friendly, sharron who served us was very helpful and informative about the specials. Can't wait to go again.

All meals were excellent, service was good but not over powering, definitely try the pavlova.

Nicely positioned pub and ample parking and pleasant, friendly staff/servers. We always go for lunch here and generally have fish dishes, usually Seabass or Fish Cakes but they're always served with ghastly Tenderstem Broccoli which I'm sure comes pre-cooked in packs and then is reheated, if your lucky! On the few occasions we've had this it has been barely warm and so hard to cut with a knife - hardly tenderstem! We've sent it nsckyand got Peas instead. Generally the food looks appetising but is not that hot which annoys me. We are holding off going again this week even with a 40% discount because of this. Why cannot the kitchen get these simple things right?

Honestly- second visit in 4 weeks and the roast is simply amazing! The 3 meat roast was delicious, service is great!

Party of six adults and four children were accommodated with a warm welcome. We were looked after by Ash who was extremely professional and a true ambassador for the restaurant. The food was excellent and a lovely cosy atmosphere was enjoyed by all .

Busy on Sundays. They had run out of roast dinners due to being busier than normal. Food was lovely.

The fish and chips are, in my opinion, the best in the area. The fish portion is generous and is covered in a lovely, crispy batter and the large chips are crispy but soft. The mushy peas portion was generous too. Added to this the friendly staff, in particular, Sharon and Andy, are excellent.

Good value and very tasty. All 3 of us enjoyed our food. We had slow cooked lamb, fish and chips and fish cakes. The menu was great with a lot of choices and each dish had calories next to it. I had the fishcakes which were just under 650 calories I think. Usually lower calories often means the dish can be a bit boring but this was delicious. Hubby and son had pud ( I had a spoon to taste them!). They had brownie and sticky toffee pudding both superb. Our waiter was lovely and looked after us very well. We were served quickly and he asked about food allergies ( I can’t have tomatoes so he checked the fish cake was ok for me to have). The pub is traditional but in a modern updated way and is decorated very nicely with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend eating here.
