Very local pub. Service was ok. Cheap food. Had a limited menu on the day.

Wonderful country pub! Music brilliant. We’ve had food from here many times and always so good 👍 So welcoming & friendly and had new member of staff who was adorable 🥰

Didn't have food so can't rate it.

Personally I will not eat here again. The menu is limited and even so we were advised that some foods were unavailable “while they went down to the shops”. It is the first time that I have experienced Chilli con carne without the carne! No beans in the chilli is unacceptable and the advertised accompanying ‘Tortilla chips’ were also unavailable although we were offered crisps in their place! Only one draught beer available although acceptable quality. If you choose to eat here, be careful what you order.

Please be aware that this pub is only doing food at weekends at the moment. I was able to book a table during the week, but then found out there was no food when I got there. Save yourself the journey and phone ahead.

Very friendly staff. Although we are not regulars here, we felt very much at ease. It was great that dogs are welcome which will allow us to frequent the Royal Oak regularly. The menu wasn't huge but there was enough to select from. My cheese and tomato omlette was delicious. Chips were done just right. We definitely will be returning. Thank you Roysl Oak.

Very friendly staff. Bar staff Sarah , even wanted to pay for our drinks as it took her a little time to get used to the new system to make our order. Food very tasty and good portions.We had Jacket potato and Omlette. Both can be reccomended. Also dog friendly.

We went on a sunday so only got the sunday menu, food was nice. Really good service times and the staff are lovely. Food moderately priced. Its a shame it was rainy as theres a lovely playground at the back. We will definately go back 👌

Attended for a Sunday lunch, unfortunately the portions were a little on the small side, the veggie option was average to say the least and the "large" roast seemed to be the same size as the others.

Although The Oak gets good reviews, we can't add to them after our visit today. We experienced poor service, unprofessional attitude, long delays, wrong food and a final large bill that will ensure that we will not visit again anytime soon.

Seven of us for Sunday lunch. Perfect roast and veg and, of course, roast potatoes cooked to perfection. Lovely staff, it's a shame it's not my local.

Do not eat here!!! Food on website does not relate to menu. Staff were lovely but the female proprietor didn’t give a damn about the customers, sitting at the bar drinking (although not drunk). We ordered nachos and spicy chicken wing starter, which came out burnt. We returned the item. The staff asked the proprietor what to do. We heard the proprietor tell her to tell us it was BBQ chicken wings and that the menu hadn’t been updated yet. She didn’t give a damn about her customers. Had also asked for cutlery three times and was eating our starters with our fingers before cutlery and serviettes finally came. We saw the burgers come out to a different table, (the only other people eating there) which looked nothing like the food on the website.

Always come here with family when coming back home from the north. Employed my sisters over the years and treated them well.

It was a nice lunch, with four friends. I guessed that it was probably cooked from fresh and that was why it took 45-50 minutes from ordering to table delivery. They're doing well, keeping a village pub up and running but, with those delays there should be a note on the menus, so that the casual customer can be prepared.

Great local pub with friendly staff, decent size garden with a play area for the kids, definitely the best pub in the area!

Amazing food, staff were so helpful and friendly, can’t fault this place whatsoever, the kids loved the outdoors adventure park bit, happy kids happy parents. We will be back as soon as we have another reason to celebrate, or I will have to make one up lol. Much better than others in the area for sure

We have been here twice now in the last few weeks and loved it !! Friendly staff who make you feel comfortable! We have been both times on Sunday and was not to busy just perfect for Sunday dinner and family time ! Kids loved the play area aswell! Food was fantastic and service was great ! We all had a great time here, staff were friendly, food was amazing, my dad loved his fathers day as did the rest of the family. This is our new favourite place for family get togethers and just generally meeting with friends. If you have young children they have a big garden and playground, plenty of space for them to run around and have fun. thanks guys we will be back very soon

Fantastic pub in a beautiful location. We visited yesterday afternoon as we was told by friends that the new kitchen was now up and running and that the food was delicious, they wasn’t wrong, there was 6 of us who visited for lunch and not one person left a single bit of food on their plates. Well done guys we will be seeing you again very soon! 😃

Staff were really lovely nothing was to much trouble…Sunday roast was really nice and even done a vegan roast for my niece that was great 👍 definitely recommend going there.

Back to its old self,had Prawn cocktail, cod,chips and mushy peas then strawberries and cream cheesecake with ice cream,plus 2 pints of Moretaine lager,service from Ellie and Rob was quick,will definitely visit again.

Booked a table for 12, all our food and drink orders was taking without fuss the Staff was very polite and helpful. Food arrived looked and tasted perfect. Trust me don’t miss out on this lovely little country pub

This is an old period country pub that was always a reliable choice for drinks and food. After a recent change of management it has become a bit of a dive. The music is way too loud and inappropriate, for a country pub, often jarring drum & bass beats that prevent a conversation from taking place. There are bolshi pre teenage kids all over the place not being kept in check by parents. Takeaways are being brought in by punters and eaten on site. All the class has gone from this once charming pub. Another one bites the dust as the saying goes.

Felt slightly uncomfortable as soon as I entered. (Stared at by staff, no hello or how can I help you) Made my order for two coffees. Coffee way too strong and cold. Pub looks tired, shame.

Our family met at the Royal Oak at Karen’s recommendation and we were really pleased. The bar staff (Laura and Morgan) were really efficient and friendly. We were a group of 10 so they worked hard. The food was really good. We had vegetarians and vegans in our party and the menu allowed good choices for all. Highly recommend this pub, will definitely go back.

We had a great afternoon. The beer is well kept and presented, and the food was hot, tasty and looked good too. Laura and Morgan are doing an excellent job behind the bar.Thanks to Karen for recommending the Royal Oak.

Great lunch on a Tuesday in this friendly welcoming pub. Good food and great selection of beers, plus two cask ales. Looking forward to going back.

A member of the family booked us in for lunch. My last visit had been well before Covid and I hadn't been impressed with either the food or staff and was in no hurry to return. However, what a lovely lunch we had! I had the roast and it was delicious, huge portion too. The young lady serving us was a credit to them and the lady serving behind the bar was very pleasant too. Thank you, we will defiantly be back.

Had the sausage and mash and it was tasteless apart from the sausages which are from glovers so you cant go wrong there! The mash was watery and bland. Must be a new chef as all the other dishes were poor especially the fish and chips such a shame as its a nice pub but we wont be going back until it improves.

Found this place online and the reviews and food options look appealing, on ordering our drinks and enquiring about food service at 8.36pm we were told that food was no longer available, Shane as it states 9pm on the website. Come on guys, is it 8.30pm or 9pm, either change your website or customer service attitude, one or the other?

We have just moved to the area, and decided to try the Sunday Roast, and I can assure you it was well worth trying. Staff are friendly, attentive, nothing is to much trouble. We will be back for a midweek meal at some point, but also for more Sunday lunch.

I visited the Royal Oak at lunch time to meet a friend. We wanted a light bite to eat and a few drinks. When we went to the bar to order we got told politely by the bar staff that there is an hour wait due to the amount of people in the pub. Which we were happy to wait as we had been informed! When our food arrived it looked and smelt amazing! I had the Brie bites and my friend had the hot bird burger. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. I asked for the chefs names to complement them. Thank you to Rob and John. We will definitely be coming back.

We stopped of here for a drink and bit to eat while out walking through the country side. Friendly staff and lovely food. We shared the nachos starter - so good!!! Then I had the steak pie which was delicious and my husband wanted something...

We had such a lovely night at The Royal Oak! Food was amazing, very reasonably priced and service was great. Gemma was always checking everything was ok with our meal and was very friendly. Can’t wait to go back!

Although kitchen is currently waiting for new equipment, jacket potato and salad were excellent, toilet facilities were extremely clean and roomy, Sarah John and Staff always on hand, first impressions, I would definitely come back

We booked a table for 5 people . We told them it was for my husbands sons Birthday. When we arrived we were shown to a table that was not set up . It was actually two separate tables each seating 4 people , meaning...

Kitchen closed (April 2022) because there's no chef. Good for a drink but no food available.

We visited on 29th March 2022 as a company for our monthly lunch and were not disappointed. Food was lovely (Ross maybe, not sure but fab), service was first class, both Kaz and Gemma couldn't do enough. Such a friendly atmosphere and generally nice clean...

Popped in today and luckily just got a table, will definitely book next time. The food was excellent and was equally matched by the service! The roast lamb was cooked to perfection and the veg was extremely tasty! The first time we’ve visited but won’t be the last, a very lucky find! Thanks guys, we look forward to our next visit! 😊

Just had a lovely time here foods fantastic in fact they now take the crown for the best chips in the area away from the white swan and staff are really friendly and helpfull.

Had a super meal at the oak, nice service, lovely starter and mains. Unfortunately the cheese and biscuits was dry and darker in colour which normal mean bin time! Dry and time to go check your cheese, thank you for a super meal

Nice, traditional country pub. Basic, wholesome pub food well prepared and plenty of it. Shepherd Neam pub. Log fire making for a warm welcoming atmosphere. Recommended.

We ordered sausages and mash. Service from Caz was friendly and helpful. The food was good and served quickly which was great as we were limited time wise. We were just passing through but highly recommend this little pub.

As a long term resident of New Ash Green I have seen this pub through many incarnations and it is now at its best! We supported them as best we could during Covid and now they’re most definitely back!! Lovely staff, great food, genial atmosphere...

Really lovely quite pub where you can have dinner with family and friends. There is a little garden with a children playground. The food is very nice and tasty. The cauliflower cheese is so delicious, we had it twice. Highly recommended. And the waitress is very welcoming and nice.

Only sat in the garden which is quite big with lots of setting went on Friday then went back on Saturday staff were very good and polite did not eat but the food looked really good so next time we go will definitely eat

Visited today with a friend. Greeted by a very friendly girl CAZ who showed us to a table and explained about menu and covid measures. She was working on her own and did a wonderful job of keeping all the customers both inside and outside happy... Menu was limited but enough to choose. My chicken and bacon salad was very well presented, tasty and filling.. My Dessert of waffles, icecream and fresh strawberries was yummy.. It was great to see the place doing well and food was to a high standard Well done all

Went based on reviews Menu very basic but food ok nothing worth a special trip for but very very good fries I have to say. Staff friendly & nice. But Covid measures mean nothing here no one working had a mask on few costomers did either & staff have no idea what socal distancing is & I mean stretch across table so there face is next to yours to put food on table lean in close to tell you something nice people but no idea of personal space or social distancing is. We left after watching lass behind bar wipe her nose on back of her hand and keep serving we couldn't get out quick enough I'm sorry to say.

The chips were amazing, the service was great and the staff are friendly. The evironment inside the pub is lovely and the decor is aswell, can't complain at all. Kaz especially was really lovely and friendly taking our orders.

51 minutes between arrival and the first half of our drinks being served. Another 22 minutes waiting for the rest. We'll try somewhere else next time.

Just had a lovely lunch at the Royal Oak..halloumi and chunky chips, it was amazing, my friends all had the pretzel buns with a ham fill in which they all throughly enjoyed. The staff were excellent, we were served by Kaz who was very friendly...

Having read this pub is affiliated to the one at Heverhan and Blasted it was for me disappointing. To me it's just an average village pub with little finesse. We opted not to eat but looked at the menu which was very basic to the point I thought they would have a different evening menu but told no. Highlight appeared to be s foot long hot dog with all the normal sides, certainly not fine dining but clearly not what it sets out to be. Hoped for a gem to meet with friends for an evening possible pre Christmas meal but sadly this isn't it. Clearly has its fans as portions seemed huge but won't be returning sorry

We have always lived the royal oak, especially their fish and chips. It was so nice to see many diners, happy staff happy customers and lovely food, everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing. 100% recommend, ring first to ensure a table on busy days.

Fantastic roast! Very generous and very tasty roast dinners with lovely outdoor garden to eat in.

Always have a meal when we are in the area, great food and always packed to the rafters, highly recommend.

Ive used this pub regularly for years but last few Times atmosphere has been poor and the landlord is rude and miserable! Food not great either
