Shhhhhh... Don't tell everyone, but every Friday evening this cute cafe turns into a wine bar with the best grown-up cocktails in town and a pretty decent wine menu too. We pre-ordered a cheese platter that was generous in size with a sumptuous range of cheesey choice. It was a perfectly joyful date night. Hosted by Simon and Emma, who are warm and welcoming.

Great food and service in a wonderful restaurant, full of character. Look forward to seeing you again!

Got together with some friends at the Minstrel this morning and had the best breakfast I have had out in years. Good sausage and black pudding especially, and a lovely ambience. The service was first class and can't reccommend a visit highly enough.

We were looking for a place to meet up with friends and we stumbled upon this little gem. Being made to feel welcome as we entered we were shown upstairs to our table where the 7 of us took our seats and began chatting. The staff were polite, attentive and after allowing us to look over the menu took our orders. The food was, and I really mean this, of such high quality. We had all ordered the minstrel breakfast. The eggs were perfect, the bacon and sausages were also. The mushrooms and black pudding again cooked properly and the hash browns were a triumph, crispy outside and soft and fluffy inside, not like the soggy offerings many other places serve. They even served my beans in a separate bowl as I’m “one of them people” who doesn’t like my beans mixing with everything else. It’s great to meet up with friends, but it’s fantastic to meet up with friends somewhere so welcoming, whose staff you can see care about your experience, and whose meals you can see are cooked with such attention and care. Well done the Minstrel, and thank you !

7 of us called in for breakfast and chat, the breakfast stopped all the chat. WOW what a beautiful sight it was, everything you expect and more. Go try the Minstrel for breakfast, lunch or evening drinks and snacks you won't be disappointed.

Just like to praise the staff at the Minstrel this morning for their superb customer service and attentiveness towards our party. We all enjoyed a fantastic breakfast which consisted of, Bacon, Sausages, eggs, beans, black pudding, mushrooms and a choice of brown or white toast. The restaurant was clean, tidy and well presented, the staff were polite and the food was excellent. I’d totally recommend this family ran restaurant.

New update - Great place to stop off for a coffee/tea and something to eat with friends. Had breakfast toda with a friend, great breakfast choices including Vegetarian options. When it's sunny you can sit outside in their seating area, as it was raining we ended up in their upstairs area. Definitely need to consider booking if you want to grantee a table.we were lucky. Previous visit - Enjoyed a pleasant Friday evening here with friends. Tried out some cocktails Which were great and very good value. Also had a very nice bottle of red wine 👍 I would certainly recommend someone of the sharing platter's, we had a chessboard and the small olives platter. Staff and owner's very welcoming and looked after us well. We reserved a table for 6, originally planning to sit outside, but it did start to spit with rain so we ended upstairs. Highly recommended, will definitely be going back again 😁

Lived in Edenbridge for a year never new this placed existed, waited a while for the breakfast but freshly prepared and worth the wait.

Six cyclists in our group stopped for a lunch break after a decent ride. We were made to feel very welcome, and were served with our variety of choices. Lovely food, had a good, unhurried rest, and it set us up for the ride home. Great place to stop.

Visited The Minstrel today for their Friday wine and cheese evening and it really blew me away. Such great food and at such a reasonable price. Sat in the sun with a delicious cocktail as I write this. Will be back again and again. Little gem!

Lovely food with very friendly staff

It took over an hour for our breakfasts to arrive. To be fair we were told there may be a wait when we arrived however you expect a cafe delay to be 15-30 mins not over an hour. My eggs Benedict was cold, the eggs were completely over cooked. Our other meal was scrambled eggs on toast with mushrooms. Again the toast was cold, flavourless and overall not with the wait.

An amazingly quaint building oozing with charm only matched by the politeness and warm welcoming staff. Food was top notch and definitely the best home cooked food you will find locally. Definitely will be returning to this diamond in the rough

Fantastic food. Friendly, professional and personal service. Convenient public parking just around the corner at the church. What more could you ask for. Definitely recommend for both locals and visitors to Edenbridge Town.

Lovely coffee, food and very welcoming

Really poor experience this morning. One error is forgivable, two in a row is just poor and deserves a scalding. Arrived this morning travelling from London for large breakfast and tea at 10:30. Tea delivered but waitress completely forgot the milk and needed to be chased. No worries, everyone slips up. After an hour of patiently waiting for the breakfast (over heard the waitress tell another group there was a delay and so gave plenty of time) and making constant eye contact with the waitresses… I questioned where my order was, to be told there is a problem with the WI-FI?? It’s clear at this point that my food isn’t even on the grill. (And no, it wasn’t that busy!!) Never heard such a hollow, flat, disinterested apology in all my life. These waitresses clearly didn’t care, nor did they have a vested interest in what they were doing. It was like an undead zombie talking from a script. An offer for another drink was made but I was now running late. I paid for my tea (in two parts!) and left peacefully but with serious restraint. My advice to the owners - hire people who care!! Basic observation and people skills needed sorely needed here today. A genuine apology would have gone a long way.

Treated myself to poached eggs on toast, bacon,mushrooms and a pot of tea this morning Food was out of this world! Staff very friendly and price was very reasonable would highly recommend! I will be back 😀😀

The minstrel have started opening up on a Friday night for cocktails & wine! Their really cute and quirky cafe give a really lovely “speakeasy” exclusive vibe and was a totally relaxing way to relax for a couple of hours. They do special cocktails every week as well as house cocktails; I tried the two Easter ones & one of their house ones- all delicous! And my partner had a brass monkey which he also enjoyed. Deffo will be a regular haunt of ours! Simon & Emma go out of their way to make your evening enjoyable- Emma has such a fantastic personality! They also do nibble platters which we will deffo be getting next time as they looked fab!

It’s a cafe, or if you want, a bespoke venue with a menu designed just for you, your staff party or client entertaining. Either way you get quality ingredients mixed to make great food, prepared and served by some of the loveliest of people. If you didn’t realise, I’m a big fan.

This restaurant is housed in a stunning, old, property. My wife and I visited for breakfast. And what a breakfast!! I opted for "The Mighty Minstrel" breakfast. Very generous quantities of quality items and everything pipping hot. How often have we been out for breakfast somewhere to find much of it cold or at best tepid? Many thanks The Minstrel staff for an amazing breakfast experience. I can't wait to visit again.

Excellent menu choice and great customer service. The staff were extremely polite & friendly. One of the staff members went the extra mile a loaned me her phone charger for my 1/2 hour visit. The food was extremely well presented and absolutely delicious. I’d throughly recommend this restaurant.

This place is so old and quirky with wonky floors. Absolutely love it. I’ve been in on many occasions and had sandwiches, jacket potatoes, omelette and cakes…and never had a bad meal. Lovely staff too.

Fabulous burgers for a naughty midweek treat. With friendly staff and great coffee too. Warming winter soup and toasted sandwiches looked yummy too. Would recommend.

Absolute disaster of a place. 25 minute wait to be told order given at the counter had not started. Other customers just up and leaving when they were also told their order hadn’t started. Plenty of staff at the counter and milling around so no sure what the issue is. Coffee and Orange Juice shouldn’t take so long.

Having lived in Edenbridge for 8 years now, we love to support our local businesses. The Minstrel's staff are always welcoming and make the time to ask how you are, which is so thoughtful. The food is always superb, from the Minstrel breakfast, Eggs benedict, Brunch, Burger & Chips, you name it, it is always of very good produce and cooked to perfection! I would highly recommend anyone trying here, you will not be disappointed!

Usual practice With products worth less than £1 offer in the menu an item that cost £11 Insane! First you have a product on the menu that is £11 and I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of the receipt but if you continue to be cheeky I will visit you again I will order the same just to expose you to a lie Secondly here I have added over 300 reviews and only about 5 of them are bad ... The other about 295 are 5 stars. Did I accidentally write the bad on you? Thirdly, I see that other people here have noted that it is expensive with you and have not received the quality and quantity appropriate for the price at which you offer it However, no one will have noticed that it is cheap with you And 4th I see that you must answer the bad reviews and you have not found the time to write at least one good review at least one "Thank you" Quite ungrateful and disrespectful to the people who have given a good reviews for you! What insolence!!!! You have gone to extremes with your lies and impudence, so now I will attach a few screenshots Only after reading my critique that you did not say a "Thank you" for the good reviews do you decide to do it to hide the disrespect you have shown for them The screenshots show you responding to good reviews from weeks months to even years just a few hours ago. Arrived pre 12pm and ordered coffee and tea while deciding what to eat. When we ordered at 12.02pm the waitress refused to serve breakfast as it was after 12pm. New to Edenbridge and been told about the Minstrel amazing breakfast. What a disappointment. Especially as we weren’t told when we sat down that half the menu was going to be unavailable within 7mins. To add insult to disappointment the cyclists who arrived after us who were regulars got their breakfast! waited a further 20mins to pay the bill. The lady who helped us was lovely and has promised coffees next time we get there. Will try again and hopefully this breakfast is as good as recommended.

We were celebrating a family birthday, Simon and Emma went above and beyond to make it special. The food was absolutely amazing as usual, and the service was just excellent.

Just had a great takeaway, toasted sandwich and chips, plus coffee. Just because we can't eat in, still great to support local businesses.

My partner and I have recently become regulars at this small café. The staff are very attentive food is more than worth the money! Extremely good quality, never had a bad word to say!

As always a delicious lunch at The Minstrel with my 3 children. I gave the children the choice out of anywhere to go and this was their no 1 choice. It never disappoints. Plates are always emptied. And the staff can never do enough for...

Visited this morning with my children, great selection on the menu something for everyone including child size portions. Food was delicious and such a lovely venue always worth sitting upstairs to look at all the local photos on display.

This little cafe cooks the most wonderful food and they use the best produce available, it is always very well presented and tastes fantastic. We always come to the Minstrel to eat (which is 100mile round trip for us!) and since we first started coming here, my husband has found that he is both dairy and gluten intolerant and everyone at the Minstrel couldn't have been more helpful in catering to his diet. So to Simon and all his staff a BIG THANK YOU!!

I would not bother wasting your money or time going to this place. The food was cheap produce and a load of rubbish. Really disappointed overall and I would avoid at all cost tbh. Wish I had just walked out instead of paying.....

I’m visiting Edenbridge from Cardiff catching up with family. Decided to pop by the minstrel and I’m glad I did. The atmosphere is lovely and the food portions are nothing short of generous. All of the staff are welcoming and I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Came in for breakfast while in the area was amazed at how friendly the staff were as soon as we walked in, smiling faces everywhere the food was outstanding, the food was made to order but the wait wasnt as long as i thiught. I would 100% recommend this place if you are in the area

On my yearly visit to see family,had breakfast twice in the minstrel,both times fantastic,and had lunch which was the eggs Benedict it was delicious ,l live in Spain where the coffee is always great,but you have to go a long way to beat the coffee at the minstrel,

We were greeted at 3 pm on a Saturday with 'we haven't got any food' 'Cakes?' I asked. Only bread pudding and 2 cheese scones.

My wife and I were staying in Kent. We noticed this little cafe and it advertised breakfast,so in we went. A lady greeted us with if you want breakfast we have 14 builders who have booked breakfast. The place had one elderly lady sitting down. In fairness she did go and ask a cook if he could fit us in. She returned and said if you order quickly we can. So feeling peckish we went to sit down and 'choose quickly' to be told the table was reserved.

We wanted a table outside as we had dogs with us. We had checked online and it had said seating available outside and dogs welcome . When we arrived we found there was no seating outside and when we asked were told to sit on the bench !! Sadly not what we wanted so we went elsewhere !!

This establishment is based on the main highstreet of Edenbridge and often receives visitors far in wide including a lot of the cycling community who are often spotted outside having a bite to eat. The food is delicious and served at a fair price. Coffee is above par with their being a large variety along with flavour shots.
