Food was terrible, staff were unwelcoming and the atmosphere dull. We arrived as 4 friends and were the only table there however the food was slow to arrive and when it did it was tasteless and the presentation bad. Would highly recommend not going there especially as there are some delightful, friendly pubs with great food in the same town

My family took me to a he bell for Sunday lunch today it’s actually a carvery and to was unbelievabley perfect we all cleared our plates the meat was cooked perfectly and everything was hot and full of flavour would definitely recommend The bell the service was great too and staff very attentive

Lovely food, decent priced for the amount, I was very satisfied with my Spaghetti Bolognese 😍 definitely recommend.

Very quick delivery, now the quality has been out as 2 star because opening the bag we was met my the worst mess because the foil trays was squashed, so sauce everywhere, so someone knows why they arrived so bashed up. The food itself was very nice.

Carvery Sunday Lunch We visited here in the first week of the carvery Sunday lunch. We could choose from 3 sizes of meal, small, regular and belly buster. There were 4 meat choices, roast potatoes, parsnips, stuffing, crackling, Yorkshire pudding, vegetables, gravy and sauces Food was plentiful and tasty, waitress service excellent. Definitely recommend, strongly advise booking to avoid disappointment We had no space form pudding - although they looked good. We will definitely be back

Very happy with the quality of the food, delivery time and service.

Absolutely fantastic food! Staff was polite and helpful very attentive to us all! Child friendly garden too so my little boy had a fantastic time while we enjoyed our food! Will definitely be returning with the great value too! Thank you to the waitress we had who was fantastic with our children!

Spanakopita lovely as always, although again could be better stacked as lower ones were a bit soggy. Chicken kotopulo was lovely, large portion as usual & did me for dinner at work the following day! Chips well seasoned. Keep up the good work!

The food was extremely greasy, sickly to be honest. Couldn’t eat it. Wouldn’t order again and wouldn’t recommend either!

The customer service I have experienced in this pub is excellent. All the staff are very accommodating and the facilities are second to none. Since new owners have taken over they have renovated the inside of the pub and offered great deals throughout the week. I would recommend a nice Guinness in this pub.

Due to post surgery and oven broken, I had food delivered which was delivered at time I requested . portion size was really good had small beef roast ,plenty for myself

No words can describe the evenings I’ve gone into this pub for the euro’s. The staff are all bubbly very friendly . Atmosphere has been electric from both customers and staff. The cleanliness is second to none with the little added extras in the ladies toilets. A lot of thought has gone into this pub. Food has been amazing. I cant recommend this pub enough . Thankyou for making my evenings so enjoyable.

Disappointingly very below average food for dinner. Nice pub, clean and well set out. Nice staff who were unfortunately let down by a vey 'mushy' and tasteless piece of cod and distinctly average chips. Another of our party had a pizza that was described as 'alright', the chicken and chorizo was described as 'embarrassing'. The coffee machine was not functioning, which cannot be helped but one would have thought there would be a back up coffee wherewithal. Surprising as last year we had a very good Sunday lunch here.

absolutely inedible pasta. more pepper than a peppercorn sauce yet not mention on menu of it being a pepper sauce. states mushroom onion and thick cream sauce. had to go into the bin. chips over cooked and hard.

All I can say is 10/10! We booked the garden out for private baby shower and it really was better than what we expected! The outside garden is just brilliant for a family function, the space is clean, tidy and the service from the staff was impeccable. The pub inside was generally very busy as they had a busy Sunday lunch service, nevertheless we weren’t forgotten about with endless waitresses coming to check on us to take drinks orders etc - unreal service and perfectly coordinated. We were a party of 40 and everyone commented on how amazing the venue was from staff to atmosphere to cleanliness. I have nothing but great things to say about this pub. Overall 10/10 for a private function - would absolutely recommend to all my friends and family! Thank you so much The Bell Team!

We have used this pub a few times n the past but this is the first time with the new owners. Thought it was time to try it. Walked into the bar where a staff member was having a loud personal phone call. We had a wait for our order to be taken, another 3 mins and we were going to leave. The menu was reduced, especially the vegetarian choices. Ordered fish and chips and the duck. We were the only ones eating. After a wait of about 25 mins, I asked how much longer the food would be. A large group was arriving in dribs and drabs so I was glad we had ordered before them. I was told it was taking so long because the duck takes longer to cook, to get the skin crispy. I then saw food coming out that had been ordered before ours so was getting concerned. Another 10 mins then our meals came out. The fish was good, not sure it justified &14 and the duck with a very soggy skin. The staff were busy prepping for the evening as the whole pub was booked for a wedding party.

Favourite pub to go to. Amazing roast & amazing fish and chips. Well worth visiting. Complete asset to Hythe. Pub garden an absolute sun trap too which is a bonus!

Absolutely fuming! I have ordered with you for years! Never had a problem until tonight! Tracked the order said with driver, 25 mins later still no food, phoned up to be told its being packed for delivery, still waited another 20 mins! Order arrived, food cold

The delivery was supposed to be no later than 7pm, it arrived at 7:45pm over two hours after we placed the order. I rang twice and the man who answered the phone was rude telling me and I quote, 'what do you want to me to do about it, the longer I spend on the phone to you, the longer it will be before we deliver your food!' absolutely shocking. The food itself was excellent, the service was disgusting!

It's now 20:50 and still no food , we have phoned twice the take away and said food was still at the shop not the best customer services and not happy at the waiting time at all spent alot of money for it not to arrive ordered it at 7:04

Sunday lunch - choice of roast meat, with half portions available. Very sensible. I can't eat huge plate fulls, but my half portion was still very generous. My friends had larger portions and did ok. One small dish of vegetables for the three of us! However, service left to be desired. Ordered drinks, one large glass of Pinot Grigio, one bottle of Pinot Grigio Blush, glass of ice and glass of soda. The bottle arrived and waited and waited. Had to be reminded. Finally arrived. Tried to attract the attention of a waitress, ignored. Tried again, third time lucky and my wine turned up! Didn't have enough for a large glass! No salt mill on our table. Every other table had one including the vacant table next to us. Gave us six paper sachets 3 pepper, 3 salt! Asked for out order to be dealt with separately. Just finished our main course and a waitress came with the bill and asked who had what. We had expected two separate bills to be presented at the end of the meal. Called over a waitress and asked to speak to the manager or whoever was in charge. She said it was her. I told her of our experience and that I didn't like being called 'darling' and 'sweetheart'. She was the worst offender. She did cancel the deserts on the bill.

Really enjoyed the pizza, good value for money and considering that ive gone off supermarket pizza will definitely order again.

I've never had a problem before, usually our favourite takeaway but tonight food was cold!! Far too salty and nothing like what we usually get.

Well what can I say , I brought my family down to the bell as I’ve heard a lot of great reports about their new deals. I was amazed by the food , service and everything about the bell, the roast was to die for, fresh vegetables along with proper homemade roast potatoes and a gorgeous Yorkshire pudding. The sticky toffee was light fluffy and divine. It’s so lovely to see all the meals homemade. Will definitely be regular customers in the future. Thankyou so much the bell team absolutely faultless.

Our friends always recommend the Sunday lunch here and we finally got round to trying it the amazing roast I had the half chicken and beef and my husband had pork and lamb was both cooked to perfection, and the desserts you could tell was homemade thankyou to Rebekah who looked after us will definitely be back.☺️

Went there today with a group of friends! oh my… best roast i’ve had! 1/2 roast chicken was too die for, and the homemade sticky toffee pudding topped it off!

My favourite place to visit! Always such a warm welcome from staff with such variety on the food menu. So many new great deals throughout the week too!

Walked in, lady serving, didn’t acknowledge me, then it went something like this Barmaid: what can I get you? Me: pint of bitter shandy please Barmaid: is that fosters or Kronenbourg? Me: neither, a bitter shandy please Barmaid: oh is that a Guinness? Me: no it’s a bitter Barmaid: oh I’m not that good with these things Me: clearly not All the while another customer was trying to intervene and say that it was NOT a lager but a bitter I couldn’t see anyone else staff wise in the pub otherwise I may have ordered some food but didn’t wanna risk ordering a sea food platter and getting a roast dinner

Squid and muscles wasn't fresh and dip missing and checking wings cooked very lazy just cooked in a tin try so only the top ones was cooked nicely pizzas was very nice though

This restaurant used to be gorgeous and now has gone seriously down hill pizza was cold and pre cooked base and the lamb which is nearly £13 came with thick layer of grease on it and the lamb was dry and hard unfortunately will not be ordering again

Delivery came a little late. Stifado was good but not the fullest of flavour. Giros platter was good, salad was fresh.

smashing food! went for a sunday lunch with my family. beautifully decorated for christmas season, feels cozy and lovely and warm with an open fire.. service from the waitresses were amazing, unfortunately didn’t catch any names there was a brunette lady continuously checking up on our meal. a blonde lady cheerful when taking our orders, bubbly and friendly, again checking on our meals, my family felt so welcome and will definitely return again. thankyou The Bell Inn

very welcoming staff, lovely environment, came for a sunday roast dinner the meat servings were fabulous, giant homemade yorkshire pudding, were able to fit my table of 12 without a fuss plenty of room with an open fire, very cosy will definitely recommend and will most definitely will be coming back!

Had the prawn main with chips and cheese garlic bread. I asked for extra seasoning on the chips and I got it. The food freshness was the nicest it has ever been. It’s normally good but last night it was piping hot. The chips were so fresh. It was all delicious.

I’m sorry to say the chicken gyros was dry when I called to complain about the food I guy I spoke to was very nice and offered to resend the food, which I thought was a kind gesture, and told me to keep the first order. The second order came quickly, but again the chicken was dry and overdone. The meat was very tough too, it put me off my dinner and I couldn’t eat my food. I would just say invest in better ingredients please. I have to say my daughter did enjoy your lasagne, and the service was

Poor food, sloppy service, uninformed staff. Wouldn’t go there again ever! Six of us attended for lunch. I had fish and chips. Batter was thick soggy and poorly cooked. Chips nothing special. Others had different meals none were satisfactory.

We were touring the South East and looking for somewhere to watch the Women's World Cup Final. The Bell was recommended by the hotel we were due to stay at. The earlier opening up time initially looked to be causing a few issues but in reality it was a ringside seat watching what goes into getting a pub open and we take our hats off to all bar staff around the country. The game kicked off at 1100 and my wife and I were the only 2 non staff members in the pub! The result was a shame but the hospitality of the whole team was exceptional. During the second half there was a lot of people arriving for their Sunday lunch and we saw just how popular the place is with the locals. The food looked wonderful and the drinks were always efficiently served but it was the politeness and the friendliness of the staff that will stick with us for a long time.

It wasn’t worth the money. Very watery, no bell peppers, no tomatoes. No cheese. All these ingredients should have been in Lamb Kleftico. Just lamb, potatoes and carrots.

Absolutely shocking delivery service. We ordered via Just Eat at 17:38 this evening and it arrived at 20:25! I rang up at 19:30 to be told “I’m very sorry but we have limited delivery drivers but your order is on its way”. Had I known this Upton ordering I would have picked it up! 1/2hr later and still no delivery. Rang again to be told it’s showing as ‘been delivered’ in their system and they will make fresh and get it straight out! Finally our order arrived at 20:25….with soggy chips! Sa

My spaghetti bolognaise was burnt? I don’t know how you burn spaghetti but it was black and crispy on the top, wasn’t nice at all and I didn’t eat .. not very happy

Had a nice lunch but rather spoilt by being overcharged. Chose the 2 course lunch and got charged for single items. Excuse was new staff so watch out. Had to phone up for refund.

Really good mix of Greek and Italian options and very tasty. Portion size large and worth the money. We have ordered previously and will again.

As usual everything was great, never disappointed with this place! However some healthy feedback for the following; The Pollo bello chicken dish was far saltier than usual, but still just edible. My fave is always the Spanakopita, my only comment though would be to stack them differently as when they are on top of each other they become a little soggy from the heat/moisture of an enclosed container, so they loose that nice crispness that usually comes from the flaky pastry! First time ordering the Baklava, was a little dry and not sure it's quite to my taste so prob won't order that again. And the cheesy garlic bread was super cheesy! I prefer a little less cheese but some others prefer more so hey ho!

Absolutely brilliant. Food out of this world. Tapa menu wonderful. Cheesecake lovely and London Pride bitter was the final compliment. See you tomorrow evening.
