You haven't been to a really cool beach Cafe until you've been to Palms!

I got here with my wife and a hungry daughter who was crying since we sat down waiting to get a table in the roofing section. Staff was incredibly nice, patient and empathic since we arrived. Food was great 👌🏽and a very nice sea sight.

Delicious fresh food and amazing drinks! Right on the beach. Service was great. I loved it. 2nd time back.

The service was terrible and the atmosphere was not good. The two of us were seated after waiting 5 or 10 minutes but we were never offered a drink or had anybody approach the table for at least 10 minutes. I couldn’t tell you what the food is like because I never had the opportunity to order anything.

Loved the breakfast. 30 bucks including tip for 2 people! Great service. Super cute atmosphere. Hotel attached...got tour by manager and will definitely put it on our list to stay at next time we're in SPI.

Went with my friend and we both had a great time the service was on point as well as the food. We got the chicken quesadilla for the appetiser and they were really good and we both got the cheese burger and they were also really good the food has a very home made tase which we loved and the atmosphere was great. For the 2 meals and a appetiser it was a little less than $50 which is pretty good looking at the portions.

The food was great but they never checked up on us for any refills or to deliver the rest of the order we waited at least 40 minutes before we were able to eat and then they charged a $25 in gratitude fee just tipping themselves for doing nothing worth a thanks

Great spot for lunch or dinner by the beach! We were seated right away, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend the fried snapper plate, as well as the creamy Spanish seafood bisque — both were outstanding

We ate and drank in the bar several times over a few days while visiting SPI. It is extremely busy all the time and very small so expect a wait. Bar has about 5 or 6 seats and always full as well. Completely outdoors but plenty of shade and fans if hot out. They do allow dogs, which is nice. Food is so good and really fresh with lots of options. We enjoyed several different options during our visit. The grilled tuna was so fresh and cooked perfectly as was the shrimp skewers. Fried seafood basket was very tasty as well as the cheeseburger and yummy freshly cooked chips. Salad, yes and yum!! There is an awesome bar tender after 3pm - he can make excellent mixed drinks and super friendly. Such a cool spot!!!

Based on so many positive reviews, we went for dinner. My wife's Shrimp Cocktail was at best, OK. I ordered crab cakes. Gordon's or Mrs Paul's frozen foods would have been as good and so, so much cheaper. It's a beach town, so you can expect to pay a bit more, but really, $49?

We went for breakfast and it was perfect, we even bought some syrup at the gift shop to bring home! It started to get busy before we left, but because there is a walking path to the beach, there was plenty of room for people to wait without it being crowded. ♡ This is definitely a perk in this area.

Well for one the manager was so rude to my mother, we went there because it was a recommended place for lunch, the workers were alright but my burger wasn’t cooked all the way, anyways the manager is very rude, she told us not to come back and gave us attitude saying “clearly” when my mom didn’t touch her food, she didn’t like the food by the way. I have it all on video too and the manager, short haired lady, stormed off with our plates and talked crap about us after, I told her God bless her and left, they need to get their crap together, especially her.

I was disappointed when the eggs I ordered were what I call "fake" eggs. The hash browns were cooked correctly, but were cold. Bacon was good. Pancakes were good too. Coffee was fresh and not too strong. Sitting on the open Cafe was awesome. I would recommend Cafe on the Beach on your next visit to SPI.

Large collection of cocktails and customized food selections . Though limited variety for vegan and vegetarians the chefs were kind enough to accommodate the preferences!

We went ready to eat and was told after we ordered breakfast that the breakfast was not being served anymore and we told them that we would be leaving since we were interested in breakfast and the lady stopped us when we were already to our car and told us to pay for the drinks we didn’t even touch? I don’t think that’s good service at all especially I tried to tell her we didn’t touch them and that we wanted breakfast and she told me “well you ordered you have to pay” I’m very disappointed because I really wanted to just enjoy it how I seen others enjoy on the TikTok platform.

Had several meals here. We kept going back for good reason. Way better than expected. Top notch all around.

Fabulous blackened Mahi Mahi! Frieldly staff reasonable prices! Delicious bloody Mary, just needed pickles/celery.

What a lovely find. Salmon and cream cheese bagel was lovely and I had the best cappuccino I’ve had for a long time. Lovely warm sunny day and this spot for a stop just made the walk worthwhile

We had a great lunch. Even on a very windy day it was enclosed enough that we didn’t notice in the restaurant. The burger was delicious and the build your own salad was fresh and delicious.

A little windy so it was a bit chilly but the food and service were great!

They never answer the phone and when they do they just keep it on the line and never acknowledge you. Honestly better places on the island but it's sad they do that even to locals. 😒 I guess they don't need the $. Real sad to be doing that spring break.

Great food and even better service. Aaron was our server and he was great. Snapper and shrimp basket was so fresh and crispy with light batter. A must get. If you’re not in the mood for fish get the chicken Rockefeller. Patio is dog friendly. With awesome views of the beach. This hidden gem is a must.

Had blackened snapper, hushpuppies and a millionaire coffee. Hushpuppies coulda used a little more jalepeno, but the food was fresh. The view and fresh air is good too. But remeber you will see bees and crows because you are on a patio.

This was our favorite place to eat that we found on the island. Loved the jalapeño hush puppies and the Mahi tacos in particular. One warning: avoid going for breakfast if you don't like bees. Peak times can be hard to get a seat, but it was worth the wait.

Loved the food. Service a little slow but it was busy and that was to be expected The hot dog and sweet potato fries were the bomb. Toty recommend. Also the hush puppies were delicious.

Service was prompt. Nice to hear waves splashing on the beach just wish the food had been even as good as decent. English muffin was old, pancakes were tough and hashbrowns left in a warming tray 2 hours too long.

Some of the best coffee in the area and some amazing, delicious and reasonably priced menu choices - locally sourced. The staff are genuinely friendly. You can also enjoy Hythe’s seascapes (all weathers) - there’s plenty of seating outside. It’s idyllic in the summer- it can get very busy, why wouldn’t it? 😊. A truly local, seaside cafe, literally ‘on the beach’ - a gem of a place ❤️.

My friend and I are locals(not that it matters). We chose to go to Cafe on The Beach this evening. There were several tables available(albeit dirty) but were told it would be a 20min wait. While we waited another 10min we decided to walk up to the bar(we had to ask the bartender for a drink menu…he responded at 6:01 HH is over! We said, do you still have alcohol?). The 4 wait staff never made eye contact with us, the bartender never asked “have you decided what you’d like to drink? After about 15 min with zero change in cleanliness, service or attitude my friend and I left. We went to Padre Island Brewry where we had incredible service and amazing food & drink.🤗

We always enjoy eating here. The food is good, service is friendly, and it's nice being able to eat outside.

Ordered a pound of peel and eat shrimp. Texture and taste were wonderful. Our server, Nathan, was very attentive and responsive.

You are not too far from the water, and it's a clean and fun place for breakfast. It is a well managed Cafe with a lot of items to choose from, along with alcohol. Open all-day breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Service is fast. The food is tasty and appealing. You can dine in or carry out. It's in back of the Palms motel which is a fabulous place to stay modern features.

Just hanging at the beach with friends and a pup. We enjoyed great service all around. Our fur baby got his own serving of water in a size appropriate bowl. The food was great. The ocean view was great.

What a great little place!! We had breakfast, it was very good and reasonably priced! I had a omelet, very good, my husband had the eggs benedict it was delicious... The coffee was the best on the island, so far!

We have been here many times and it never dissapoints. Food is great, and you can not beat earing right off the beach.

It was nice, but they don’t like if you order only like $60 worth if food (note that we ordered also several smoothies at the bar before getting a table due to the waitlist for tables). Food was tasty, wine was good, atmosphere seemed fairly nice too. But it felt a bit passive aggressive. They charged us $1.95 for the child licking a ketchup bottle, but … then they just put the ketchup back with the other ketchups for the next customers. how unsanitary. I would’ve been perfectly fine if they had told me that they had to get rid of the bottle and they were going to charge me six dollars, instead they didn’t tell me and sort of slipped in the charge and passed that unsanitary ketchup to next customers.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Cafe on the Beach! The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh flavors and beautiful presentation. The ambiance was perfect – the ocean views were stunning and the restaurant itself was cozy and inviting. A special thanks to Nathan for his attentive and friendly service. He made our meal even more enjoyable.

I've been coming here since I discovered them in 2020 during Covid. Great Food, atmosphere and View of the Gulf. 2024 : We just had Breakfast there and it's still Fantastic!!!

Enjoyed the laid back friendly vibe so much that we returned! Great peel and eat shrimp, refreshing bottle of wine kept on ice, mussels and mahi mahi tacos and fries were delicious. Our servers Irvin (Thursday) and Lindsay (Sunday) were awesome - very friendly and attentive.

Watched the moon shining on the gulf while eating a delicious meal. Will return.

Favorite place on the Island. The waiters are outstanding. Good menu. The shrimp is excellent. I live on the tortilla soup. And the setting on the shore can't be beat.

This is the first time we've been disappointed here. Still awesome service, beautiful views, but this time....poor food. We had mini Caesar salads, shrimp and oyster basket, and the mussels. The salads were pretty bland, and the lettuce was definitely past it's prime. The shrimp were good, but the fried oysters were not. The mussels were mainly broken, and there were so many teeny bits of shell that they were unavoidable. Sad. We will hope for a better go next time.

The food was great each time we went. We did go during the week right after school started in August so there was always a table. Servers were all friendly and responsive. Peaceful little spot next to the beach.

Love this beautiful little cafe. Great food with some daily specials. They have a good happy hour margarita too. Be aware that it can get pretty busy on weekend mornings.

Nice small cozy & quaint place looking over the beach. Excellent margarita's, Lobster tail and peel & eat shrimp. Aaron, was a great server, thank you. You're inside with open air seating. You'll have to chase of a few flies, but they don't overtake you. I will eat here again!

Great location on the beach & yummy food. My Reuben was so stuffed with goodies I had to eat it with a fork. Nice service, too! Lots of entertaining grackles around.

After waiting 15 minutes to be served ,from standing in a queue from kiosk window I noticed people who had gone into coffee shop after me , being served . I decided to try my luck at ordering inside shop. I am physically disabled and struggled to gain access to counter in cafe because of lack of room and the cafe full of customers. I was met with a very rude woman who said ,What do want…Not can I help! I replied would like to order please . She said can’t order in here go to outside window. I stated I had being queued outside and had Not be served. She replied, we are very busy. I was embarrassed and turned around left the cafe struggling yet again to leave the cafe because lack of space because of my disabilities. I will not ever again use your facility ,or will not recommend it to anyone I know. I live in this area There are lots of coffee shops and eateries which are more welcoming with better customer services in Hythe.

Frozen food like chicken tenders and fries are less expensive. The rest of them are expensive and the quantity is less. They could have installed Misty fans for outdoor seating.

This had a medium sized wait, but I'd say it was worth it. The view of the beach is so amazing and you can go on the beach and swim. The food was amazing(I got breakfast). I would recommend this place when you look for a bite to eat.

Best dog friendly place on South padre! They were. Kind enough to offer water to my dog immediately after we arrived.. food is very good so we’re the cocktails! Good choice for a laid back evening or for a special occasion..

The pineapple coconut dipping sauce with the coconut shrimp is so addicting 😋 This spot is perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!! And you can't beat the view being right on the beach 😎 A must try 👌
