We popped in for breakfast, unfortunately it was the last day in Folkestone to repeat the experience. A very beautiful, spacious place, delicious food with a perfect presentation. We left Folkestone with a pleasant taste 😋. I highly recommend.

A lovely discovery day 1 but day 2 not so good. I had breakfast and the food was cooked beautifully and with quality ingredients. Further, the kitchen amended the standard menu listing to what I wanted. Comfortable surrounds . Pleasant staff with largely good and speedy service. Given the table call buttons and waiting on service the 'welcome desk' is somewhat formal and unnecessary . Not the cheapest but I think with the positive experience largely appropriate ... It means it's a now and again treat rather than more regular. I will definitely be returning here. I did return the next day as it happened given I was so pleased. Alas the same breakfast was one poached egg and one tomato less than the day before. The manager did bring a second egg but was very reluctant and was abrasive rather than apologetic, suggesting I'd ordered extra the day before . Hopefully a one off blip as the food was again good and not a weights and measures issue. He then tried to charge me for the 2nd egg but finally gave in to just charging 30 p more for a one tomato less meal than yesterday ! I think they need to get their act together here as they turned a delighted returning customer into one that would consider twice about going a further time. My initial five stars across the board have been revised down.

I've been here before , and the staff have always been great , but today was disappointed, mainly with the service, the staff couldn't even raise a smile. My eggs benedict arrived without the avocado relish and the eggs were solid. When the waitress cleared the plates she asked if everything was OK, but was so disinterested that she was walking away even as I was speaking to her. My friend asked the manager for the bill and he also enquired about the meal , she told him it was fine but there was an item missing from one plate and the eggs were overdone . Sadly , he was also disinterested. I didn't want to make a fuss as the food is usually very good , but they didn't want our feedback , and the attitude was very poor, so that's why I've written this review. It was a birthday brunch , but it felt very flat and unwelcoming, such a shame , as it has put us off from going back.

Very nice place to have breakfasts. Lots of things on the menu and great, clean environment to relax in. This is a great addition to the town.

A real experience: very good food and drinks at reasonable prices, magnificent interior and very friendly staff. Will be back on our next visit to Folkestone!

Had a lovely brunch with the family today, excellent service by Cara, highly recommend, very friendly and and don’t wait to be served. We got everything went wanted 👍 Full English and the Canadian breakfasts were lovely 😁

Everything was absolutely brilliant! The food was amazing and the milkshake was soooo delicious. Kara has been super friendly and we will certainly recommend this place if you are visiting Folkestone.

Popped in for a coffee earlier and was amazed by the efficient service from Kara, will defiantly be back for food looks delicious!!

This place serves delicious food the waitress Kara is so attentive and remembers my order every time I go in. I would 100% recommend this for every meal all the food they serve is very tasty and the drinks are always spot on.

Clean, quality food,excellent service.

We had two adults in electric wheelchairs and they made space for us. Cara, the waitress, was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. Fabulous experience.

Love love love this place. if you want a little fancy breakfast/lunch or dinner, it's a good place to come to. Reasonable prices for the whole experience, to be honest. Food is outstanding as well 😋

A massive thank you to Adam who served us - we were celebrating our 20 year wedding anniversary experience in Folkestone. We stumbled across The Sunshine restaurant we were treated like royalty and pleasantly surprised with a smoking cocktail (buttery nipple) presentation was on point! We wish the company every success and will definitely return in the future….

We had a hotel without breakfast, so we looked for a place where we could get breakfast. And this place stood out in terms of appearance. We had a delicious meal here, we opted for the Canadian breakfast. Beautifully presented, tasty and great service. Highly recommended.

Best food I have had in a long time. After being on the road from southern France nothing could have been better. Had the spicy sausage and hummus followed by the Chicken shish. Every component of each dish was spot on. Highly recommend you visit for food. Cocktails looked good too!!

Had a fantastic lunch there today with 3 friends. They were busy yet the staff were still very attentive and polite. They have a good food menu and extensive drink menu. We loved the atmosphere, great vibe but still cosy. Most importantly the food was delicious! We can't wait to go back and try something else.

I ordered a cheese and onion omelette on it's own and a glass of milk, and was shocked to receive a bill for £16:50, I suppose it was because it was in Folkestone!

We had an excellent early dinner here - note that they close at 1900 except on Friday and Saturday when they close at 2200. Excellent service, with a bell on each table which can be used to call a staff member. There is an extensive menu; we had chicken dishes with generous portions, good presentation and sides included in the dish. There is seating inside and outside.

What a great place, we arrived here for lush and without a booking. The staff were so great and the food was so so good. I had the Turkish breakfast with some additional spicy gourmet chips, the food amount and quality was stunning, Lovely lovely place, highly recommended

I came in for a hot sweet little breakfast and to my surprise I was met with the most authentic, inspiring, amazing service I have ever received in a restaurant experience. My waitress (Lady Alaunya I think) delivered service with the loveliest smile I have ever seen, she made me feel so welcome and at peace with my meal. Honestly would recommend this place to anyone and everyone if they would like to experience the best waitress and food and drinks on earth. You will be seeing me again very soon! x

popped for lunch last week ....... delighted to discovered a place that make amazing pancakes like the morning glory ones ...... atmosphere was great, no complaints about the staff either..... lady with red hair(?) was extremely friendly and helpful with explaining me; ..... if ever come back in folkestone .... bring family along too

Has this restaurant got new owners/management? I went in twice today. The service was ok ish the first time . The second time, around 3 this afternoon the service was poor. Staff pottered about like they were browsing at a boot fare until l rang the bell so l and my daughter in law could order, we eventually got our drinks . Then when ready to leave, 3 members of staff looked at me when l was standing at the counter waiting to pay but carried on chatting and ignored me . I am a cafe owner myself and would never treat my customers the same way. The people who were there until recently were first class when it came to service. The same can’t be said about the new staff

Popular place to eat throughout the day! Great range of breakfast options to suit all types of eaters. All cooked well and delicious (especially the hash browns). Friendly staff and quick table service due to the buttons on the tables.

Spacious, modern, friendly place, fast service. The personality is kind and polite. The food is delicious. The drink selection is plentiful and extremely delicious. I can only recommend it to everyone, let it be a day-starting coffee, tea with a delicious breakfast/ quick lunch or a delicious dinner with a tasty cocktail, wine, beer.. you will not be disappointed. I will definitely come back.

Went in there with a few friends for cocktails on Saturday, it was busy, lots of familys and friends eating. I explained we were just after drinks and was told, not a problem. Showed to our seats and given a drinks menu, the choice is well thought out and plentiful, the young lady (Alanya, I believe) who was serving us was extremely polite, very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. We had our last cocktails served on a tray of smoking ice (I think) absolutely wonderful day and made very to feel special. Well done Sunshine Cafe, we shall be returning!

Sunshine Bistro is one of my most favourite places to go for both food and cocktails. They have an extensive cocktail menu, decent offers on and the food is just so incredible and delicious. Great quality and atmosphere and the servers are always polite. Today we were served by Adam and he was wonderfully helpful and friendly.

A very atmospheric place, nice and cozy. We ordered a burger, but unfortunately it was dry and overcooked, the fries were fresh, as was the coleslaw. The chicken nuggets were of low quality and from frozen. The toast was very tasty. Owner very friendly😉 thank you for milkshake. Definitely we will be back and try more...

Came here with my friend for some cocktails and I am definitely coming back the best cocktails in Folkestone highly recommend the staffs are also so helpful and friendly it’s a great restaurant

We’ve visited a number of times. Breakfasts are always good, burgers not so good as they were dry and not particularly flavourful. Cocktails are always great, also recommend their happy hours deals on food and drink

Popped in for breakfast with my two children as the eldest (5) wanted fluffy pancakes for breakfast. We both had pancakes and they were awesome. The coffee here too was really good! Staff are very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend

Our first visit. The food we had was lovely and good coffee. The atmosphere is very relaxed the service is polite and pleasant. Will be returning to try something else on their menu. It also seems very popular with regular customers.

Visited last night and can honestly say everything was spot on...kids loved pressing the bell when we needed anything...such a nice touch rather than having to look around for a waiters attention continuously. The food was beautiful, well cooked, hot and so tasty. Best meal I've had in folkestone in a very very long time

The food was 😍 it looked apatizing and tasted extremely good, people come to you instantly but atmosphere was a bit bad but still recommend this place!

Why is it so crowded??? O. White, its half term! So, this myth of everyone bring sooo poor? Well, this place was packed and...we had to wait for a table! Once sat on their lovely banquettes we were home and dry ...and warm and happy. The Folkestone Sunshine caff is ace. Roll on the END of half term.

Food was ok, very busy but was disappointed, I was charged £3.40 for half an Effes when I saw on the menu after it’s £5.50 for a pint.

Our favorite place in Folkestone for coffee, breakfast or lunch. Wide offer and nicely cooked food. They know how to make coffee, which is already a difficult thing to find in the UK. Milkshakes are delicious. Also, the place is clean to spotless: no sticky tables, clean menu cards and cutlery is not left in dirty pots on the tables but provided at the time to eat... a place where hygiene standards are under control. Service is good and professional; the people who run the place definitely know how to manage this kind of business.

My daughter and I visited here for brunch as a treat and after ordering our food arrived nearing in mind the description on the menu of the food it was anything but my daughter had no butter for her toast so asked for sone finally after second time asking she got a pack thrown on the table I ordered a sandwich description sounded great it arrived I could of got my 3 year old grandchild to do better no butter hardly any filling and all for a very high price and gourmet chips not just. crispy skin on fries staff attitude is disappointing to say the least
