Why is it so crowded??? O, right, it's half term! So, this myth of everyone bring sooo poor? Well, this place was packed and...we had to wait for a table! Once sat on their lovely banquettes we were home and dry ...and warm and happy. The Folkestone Sunshine caff is ace. Roll on the END of half term.

Family friendly, great staff, great food, great service and buzzing atmosphere.

Have been several times now for breakfast. Food was delicious and well presented. So far, there isn't anything on the menu I wouldn't recommend. Staff has always been nice and friendly. The time to wait for food was less than what I expected, granted, I missed the peak times. The restaurant itself is clean and has a nice style that sets it apart from the surrounding area. Would highly recommend.

Celebrated my birthday at the Sunshine last night and had a lovely evening. Food, drinks and service was unmatched! Already looking forward to my next visit. A big shout out to Adam! And the rest of the Sunshine team. Will definitely be returning.

We ordered burgers, the waiter said they were like McDonalds, they were not. I also went in for brunch and had a sausage and egg roll. There were 3 of the thinist parts of a sausage not a whole sausage and an egg that looked like it had been dropped and kicked round the kitchen.

Excellent service and great quality food at the right price. Even though it was a busy Saturday afternoon there were plenty of staff who made time to make sure everything was ok.

We arrived early around 6pm and very few seats were available which told us the restaurant was very well liked. By 7pm all tables were taken. We had wonderful evening meal, very tasty and all cooked fresh and presented well. Staff greeted us with a smile and stayed friendly all evening. Very polite and very attentive. We were going to the theatre on the same night so wanted to eat early and leave. Now we have found this restaurant we will return when booked into the theatre again.

Visited here many times with friends and family and will continue to do so! Beautiful interior and lovely staff members make the atmosphere feel welcoming. Great food and drink every single visit, I highly recommend the hot chocolates!

Me and my three friends had a great time, our waiter/ server Adam was brilliant, the food was great and everything came to our table quickly and tasted fantastic. Would really recommend to anyone.

GIVE LAUREN A RAISE!!!!! I have been to Sunshine Bistro on numerous occasions and as always, I have been welcomed politely by Lauren. Despite only ordering a lovely hot chocolate after my runs on Saturday, she has treated me with great care even though it seems to be thriving with customers! The other staff were also welcoming which made me feel right at home and, I was always delightfully served. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and I am most certainly coming back!

We eat here a lot and the food is generally always very good. Generous portions, friendly staff. Fuss-free dining.

Good food with service (just ring the bell at your table and they help), price is right, very comfortable, a place to go with friends and family. Outside with seats and heaters.

Today I had scrambled eggs on sourdough toast eggs under cooked., so this made the bread soggy and the bread wasn't toasted very well. My granddaughter has toasted cheese and tomato sandwich cheese looked really cheap not nice. For the prices you are charging needs to be a lot better. My sister had a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich earlier in the day at a different café was much better and came with salad and crisps half the price you are charging

This is my new favourite place to eat. They have a large variety of delicious food and beverages. Their staff are wonderful and it's such a lovely, cosy, relaxing place to eat. They also do takeaway now so you can order what you like and collect it.

Food is freshly cooked to perfection. So glad this place is still open. Staff are really helpful and very busy. Excellent service both times we went in.

We popped in for breakfast, unfortunately it was the last day in Folkestone to repeat the experience. A very beautiful, spacious place, delicious food with a perfect presentation. We left Folkestone with a pleasant taste 😋. I highly recommend.

A lovely discovery day 1 but day 2 not so good. I had breakfast and the food was cooked beautifully and with quality ingredients. Further, the kitchen amended the standard menu listing to what I wanted. Comfortable surrounds . Pleasant staff with largely good and speedy service. Given the table call buttons and waiting on service the 'welcome desk' is somewhat formal and unnecessary . Not the cheapest but I think with the positive experience largely appropriate ... It means it's a now and again treat rather than more regular. I will definitely be returning here. I did return the next day as it happened given I was so pleased. Alas the same breakfast was one poached egg and one tomato less than the day before. The manager did bring a second egg but was very reluctant and was abrasive rather than apologetic, suggesting I'd ordered extra the day before . Hopefully a one off blip as the food was again good and not a weights and measures issue. He then tried to charge me for the 2nd egg but finally gave in to just charging 30 p more for a one tomato less meal than yesterday ! I think they need to get their act together here as they turned a delighted returning customer into one that would consider twice about going a further time. My initial five stars across the board have been revised down.

We just wanted to make consumers aware and to be careful of vouchers being issued by sunshine. We arrived tonight wanting to use a voucher that had been bought as a gift for us to use in sunshine bistro bar and dining. When we went to use this we were told sorry you can only use this in the cafe. The voucher looks extremely similar to the cafe one and indeed we have seen the same staff in both establishments. We were told we couldn’t use the voucher and the waitress apologised that this wasn’t the only time this had occurred. Very disappointing and as a couple we wouldn’t spend £50 on breakfast! I think the cafe and bistro need to be very careful on the point of sale of these vouchers that people know they cannot use them in both restaurants.

It was very tasty 🤤 My steak tasted amazing 🤩 I have eaten this many times in different establishments, but in your establishment it was 10/10 Thank you ☺️

Menu is fairly priced and varied for all customers. Also food was fresh and generously portioned. 100% recommended restaurant!

I've been here before , and the staff have always been great , but today was disappointed, mainly with the service, the staff couldn't even raise a smile. My eggs benedict arrived without the avocado relish and the eggs were solid. When the waitress cleared the plates she asked if everything was OK, but was so disinterested that she was walking away even as I was speaking to her. My friend asked the manager for the bill and he also enquired about the meal , she told him it was fine but there was an item missing from one plate and the eggs were overdone . Sadly , he was also disinterested. I didn't want to make a fuss as the food is usually very good , but they didn't want our feedback , and the attitude was very poor, so that's why I've written this review. It was a birthday brunch , but it felt very flat and unwelcoming, such a shame , as it has put us off from going back.

I've been here before and liked it , so chose it to go for a birthday brunch. My eggs benedict arrived without the avocado garnish , even though I saw it on other dinner's plates , and sadly , the eggs were overdone , so no runny yolk. We didn't choose to complain , but when the waitress asked how the food was , I told her that the eggs were hard , she just walked off without acknowledgement. My friend asked for the bill and the manager then enquired after the meal and she told him that her meal was fine but mine was missing the avocado and the eggs were overdone. He didn't seem interested either. So sadly , I'm writing a review to give my feedback as it wasn't wanted at the time. We weren't making a fuss , we ate our meal and mentioned the issues only because we were asked. I thought that was the point of asking. A smile would have been nice, attitude goes a long way to making people feel welcome. It's a shame , because it has put us both off from going here again.

Everything was absolutely brilliant! The food was amazing and the milkshake was soooo delicious. Kara has been super friendly and we will certainly recommend this place if you are visiting Folkestone.

This place serves delicious food the waitress Kara is so attentive and remembers my order every time I go in. I would 100% recommend this for every meal all the food they serve is very tasty and the drinks are always spot on.

We had two adults in electric wheelchairs and they made space for us. Cara, the waitress, was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. Fabulous experience.

Called in for a restorative cuppa. Nice decor and service. Ordered a cold drink and a leaf tea. My hopes were high ! I don't drink coffee ... but I am a serious tea drinker ! Pot arrived, complete with infuser. I let it brew. I like 'builders tea' .... nice and strong ! Unfortunately this leaf tea didn't achieve the ranks ..... The infuser was full of leaves.... really full, but the tea (for me) failed to achieve desired strength ... ended up with a pretty weak cuppa. Everything else was nice. Fancy call button system on the tables !

Love love love this place. if you want a little fancy breakfast/lunch or dinner, it's a good place to come to. Reasonable prices for the whole experience, to be honest. Food is outstanding as well 😋

A massive thank you to Adam who served us - we were celebrating our 20 year wedding anniversary experience in Folkestone. We stumbled across The Sunshine restaurant we were treated like royalty and pleasantly surprised with a smoking cocktail (buttery nipple) presentation was on point! We wish the company every success and will definitely return in the future….

We had a hotel without breakfast, so we looked for a place where we could get breakfast. And this place stood out in terms of appearance. We had a delicious meal here, we opted for the Canadian breakfast. Beautifully presented, tasty and great service. Highly recommended.

Best food I have had in a long time. After being on the road from southern France nothing could have been better. Had the spicy sausage and hummus followed by the Chicken shish. Every component of each dish was spot on. Highly recommend you visit for food. Cocktails looked good too!!

Had a fantastic lunch there today with 3 friends. They were busy yet the staff were still very attentive and polite. They have a good food menu and extensive drink menu. We loved the atmosphere, great vibe but still cosy. Most importantly the food was delicious! We can't wait to go back and try something else.

I ordered a cheese and onion omelette on it's own and a glass of milk, and was shocked to receive a bill for £16:50, I suppose it was because it was in Folkestone!

My daughter and I popped in for an impromptu lunch on a Saturday, amazing food, lovely staff and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

We had an excellent early dinner here - note that they close at 1900 except on Friday and Saturday when they close at 2200. Excellent service, with a bell on each table which can be used to call a staff member. There is an extensive menu; we had chicken dishes with generous portions, good presentation and sides included in the dish. There is seating inside and outside.

Has this restaurant got new owners/management? I went in twice today. The service was ok ish the first time . The second time, around 3 this afternoon the service was poor. Staff pottered about like they were browsing at a boot fare until l rang the bell so l and my daughter in law could order, we eventually got our drinks . Then when ready to leave, 3 members of staff looked at me when l was standing at the counter waiting to pay but carried on chatting and ignored me . I am a cafe owner myself and would never treat my customers the same way. The people who were there until recently were first class when it came to service. The same can’t be said about the new staff

I came in for a hot sweet little breakfast and to my surprise I was met with the most authentic, inspiring, amazing service I have ever received in a restaurant experience. My waitress (Lady Alaunya I think) delivered service with the loveliest smile I have ever seen, she made me feel so welcome and at peace with my meal. Honestly would recommend this place to anyone and everyone if they would like to experience the best waitress and food and drinks on earth. You will be seeing me again very soon! x

Spacious, modern, friendly place, fast service. The personality is kind and polite. The food is delicious. The drink selection is plentiful and extremely delicious. I can only recommend it to everyone, let it be a day-starting coffee, tea with a delicious breakfast/ quick lunch or a delicious dinner with a tasty cocktail, wine, beer.. you will not be disappointed. I will definitely come back.

Excellent food and excellent staff!!!

Went in there with a few friends for cocktails on Saturday, it was busy, lots of familys and friends eating. I explained we were just after drinks and was told, not a problem. Showed to our seats and given a drinks menu, the choice is well thought out and plentiful, the young lady (Alanya, I believe) who was serving us was extremely polite, very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. We had our last cocktails served on a tray of smoking ice (I think) absolutely wonderful day and made very to feel special. Well done Sunshine Cafe, we shall be returning!
