Cafe Time in Medway

Having made an unexpected visit to Gilingham, Cafe Time was the first cafe we came across - having parked just around the corner to St. James Street. I thought I would leave a review as the others are quite dated. The interior is more bistro than greasy spoon which just added to its charm. Firstly, staff are friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Secondly, we had a OAP special at £10 - excellent value as that included a drink AND a dessert. Highly recommended. I gleaned during my time there that the cafe is popular with local residents who regularly eat there.

Brilliant! Friendly staff and excellent range of food with daily specials. An oasis in the middle of Gillingham. Don't go anywhere else you would be wasting your time and money.

Made a return visit and glad to say the experience was just as pleasant as the last time. Only difference was that the portions seemed to be even larger. That is was so buzzing, with a good mix of customers, on a cold January morning, is testimony to it's quality.

It is an amazing cafe, always freshly cooked meals. I really enjoy to visit each time to have a delicious food.

The cleanest cafe in Kent. Clean, tasty food and good coffee that won't empty your wallet. All served in a timely fashion by the most angelic of staff under the watchful eye of your affable host, Neville, I can see me becoming a regular.

Fantastic little cafe. Freindly staff, lovely bacon sarnies, cracking coffee. Will go again for sure. Recommended.

I'm a tough customer when it comes to a cooked breakfast but I was blown away by the quality of the food today. No bland sausages but wonderfully seasoned, so often they fall short but not here. The strawberry milkshake was so thick plus with the cream made it so so satisfying. I highly rate this cafe, the staff are polite and the owner knows good food. A pleasure and I will be returning

Has a lovely atmosphere, lovely staff and food. Would definitely reccomend it to people. We come in nearly every week, the staff are friendly and helpful. Worth the money does get busy at times but we now reserve a table

Always visit Cafe Time when I am in Gillingham. Nevill and his excellent team always make you welcome and the food is always delicious. Best to book a table as it is very popular.

Love Cafe Time, quite simply the best cafe in the area. Visit regularly and have never been disappointed - lovely food, friendly owner and staff make you feel more like friends than customers. Cafe Time always maintains high standards in delivering good food. I would definitely recommend a visit but always best to book so as not to be disappointed as they can get very busy. As for a previous review, I think some people have too much time on their hands. Maybe the fact that it is best to book would indicate that this is a very good and popular cafe. Keep up the good work, such a rarity to find a little gem.

Excellent service, friendly staff and home cooked food. An excellent range of dishes to choose from the desserts are particularly good. Clean and busy. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

I have eaten Hunters chicken here twice, so not a fluke, it was perfect. Would recommend this café to anyone.

I visit often and this is the only cafe in my town that I’ll ever visit. The owners are incredibly wonderful and the staff are just as lovely too. Food is incredibly delicious. If ever you are in Medway, I highly recommend with my whole heart!

Had time to kill with the parking, so decided to stop for a bite to eat and was just off the High Street, and was open before all the other shops were open at 9. On that note, its a good place to have a coffee and a bite to eat before going shopping. Place was very welcoming and quaint and clean. Was immediately served and had my coffee in my hand within 2 minutes, which is a star quality I like. Menu was adequately ranged, breakfast lunch and dessert. Helpful not having to plough through different options and variations. I went for a full English breakfast with a side of chips (I hear you its breakfast and shouldn't have chips, I'm usually I agreement but today I felt rebellious) Food was cooked nicely and not nuked or reheated (please see picture). Sausages make a special mention here as well as the eggs, perfectly cooked. Staff were friendly and happy to be at work and felt their commarady and togetherness as I sat and ate my food. Small minors : had to ask for the condiments, apart from the vinegar they came in sachets. Understand the cost savings and hygiene and it is what it is, but imagine your served up a beauty of a dish and your fumbling with packets of condiments ! Small minor : finished my plate, asked for a 2nd coffee, my plate was cleared but my 1st cup off coffee and unused condiments were not. Enjoyment of my 2nd cup of coffee was reduced by the clutter still on the table. Take nothing away from the bigger picture that this is a super gem of a find, delicious food, excellent and happy staff and very competitvley priced. Full English breakfast (cooked perfectly) 2 cups of coffee and a side order of chips for £13.50. The minors are just that minors and very picky from my point of view. Highly recommended and love to see a local business serving the community and thrive under difficult trading conditions. Will be back for sure.

Homemade pies to die for, full of steak or chicken and asparagus. Homemade gammon and dessert delicious 😋 Outstanding service kind and helpful staff, who are disabled friendly. Cleanest toilets too. Even a lovely garden outside as a thank you to NHS. ⭐️

Stopped in for a quick breakfast and was delighted with the food and the service. But what topped the experience for me was that the waitress chased us down the street to return my phone to me after leaving it on the table. Nice to know that honesty isn’t dead.

We regularly visit Cafe Time. The food is always of first class quality cooked by owner/chef, service is too regardless of what we order. There are screens between tables, decor is of good quality, hand gel provided. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Visited again recently as has been closed, I love this place. From the excellant staff to the wonderful food whats not to like. Ordered two breakfasts a full english and two poached eggs on toast + mushrooms and two drinks. Presented well and very tasty....

Had a lovely lunch out with new grandson and my daughter . We had a chicken roulade and salad which was extremely fresh and tasty and a tuna mayo baguette with a little garnish salad. Both superb and two cold drinks. Lovely friendly service ....

We try to make it down for lunch once a week. As well as a typical cafe menu there will always be three or four daily specials and of course some fabulous desserts. The staff are efficient and friendly. Don’t pass it by.

I love this cafe, it's a friendly and welcoming place. Modern and clean with free WiFi, freshly cooked food, for a reasonable price. I'd recommend it.

If you ever in Gillingham. Yes I know not the beat area but if you are this is the cafe to go to. Outstanding staff. Food is out of this world. I had a baguette to me a crispy roll had ham salad and chips....

Didn’t receive chilli sauce with chicken wrap meal

Great pizzas and such a friendly delivery driver, certainly on time. Very impressed. Excellent will use again, any chance of a menu being sent out - easier format for me Thanks

Food was awful. Chips soggy and undercooked wrap covered in onions when it didn’t state onions and the donner meat inside freezing. Inedible.

Shop is an absolute joke! Complained the first time as staff were not professional. Second time of complaint, I ordered an Italian burger what was “suppose” to have cheese and garlic in AND DID NOT!! It was so plain like they have put no effort in at all. What a waste of money! will never be ordering from there again. Think they need to get new staff

Worst parmo I've had. Edges were burnt, chicken didnt taste right and was soggy, hardly any bechamel and the cheese was normal grated that was hardly melted. Meant to be a hawaiian parmo.

Chips weren’t cooked and were soggy. Wraps were dry and very bland. No chilli or garlic put in. Wouldn’t recommend based on this meal

Cheesy chips were obviously reheated and the burger came as a quarter pounder instead of a half pounder. The delivery was already 20 mins late so couldn’t even face ringing to complain. Never again.

Second time this has happened where we've waited 90 minutes for cold food. We won't be ordering again.

Perfect food, enjoy it with the pizza, but delivery was too late 45min . I think the restaurant managements need to learn how to respond and resolve the problem with customers.

Amazing!!! Their Jalapeno Poppers are the best I've ever tasted. 5 Stars and 2 thumbs up. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Wedges not as good as usual also wernt wedges more like roast potatoes but everything else was amazing especially the mixed kebab and salad best kebab in Durham

Terrible, chicken was dry very little sauce would not recommend

I have used pizza time for the past year and the food has been ok however they are always late and this last time it was over 40 mins and I couldn’t get through to them as they take the phone off the hook. When my food arrived it was vile. Brown salad, soggy wrap which could not be eaten. I called to speak to them which took a further two hours to be called a C#NT by an absolutely vile woman over the phone. Vile food vile service vile staff

Haven’t ordered in a while, only order as I prefer their salads. Delivery driver really pleasant BUT still can’t get an order correct. Ordered without chilli sauce & even put a note in instructions for garlic sauce. Yet again delivered chilli sauce. Won’t be ordering again.

I've been ordering from Pizza Time for years. Despite the occasional ups and downs, its generally been good. However, in recent months, it seems to have taken a major turn for the worst; in fact, the only reason I ordered via Just Eat on this occasion, is because their own in house system doesn't allow for reviews and I had a feeling that they'd mess something up... In short - Every recent order I have had from Pizza Time in the last 6 months (including this one), has been late and missing *significant* items. I don't know if the latter of the two is an unscrupulous method of saving money, but when it happens over and over again, it certainly makes you wonder...So if your'e considering ordering from here, just be aware; you might get your order and things might be fine, but chances are they wont. Anyway, they've lost my business.

Food nice. Used this place for as many years as I can remember. Delivery driver was spot on. Slight problem with order and needed to phone, Lass that answered was beyond obnoxious, Absolute crettin with zero manners. Won’t ever order again.

Food was terrible, couldn't finish eating any of the dishes.

Average food, delivery price extortionate at 1.90 when advertised at £1. Took one hour and 45 minutes for a basic chicken wrap meal, 45 minutes longer than predicted. No updates at all despite having my mobile number and email. When I called to chase could not get through on the phone until my 21st attempt. Lady apologised and said they were busy ...I have a feeling they forgot about our order. No good will gesture offered (I.e. can of pop etc). Won't be revisiting

Spent £17 delivery time was approx 40 minutes late which is forgivable but to deliver no garlic or chilli sauce or the extra pita breads leaving us with dry wedges and chicken kebab is a joke. Rang up to explain and the best they could do was deliver the missing items 15 minutes after the food. Total waste of time and money.

Food was rotten, found a whole clove of garlic in the sauce. Ordered a dr pepper with the burger and got a sprite. Ordered a diet coke and didnt get it. Kebab meat was disgusting. No idea what happened to this place uses to be really nice.

Amazing chocolate fudge cake, Ice cream is worth every penny. Absolutely loved it and I'd definitely recommend. Very happy customer, driver is friendly and the desserts got here earlier than expected.

Pizza tasted like cardboard that had been left out for hours and the dough on the garlic bread was just a sponge like texture didn't even taste like bread!

Order wrong, chips tasted 2 weeks old. Pizza looked like it came from the crematorium, and didn't taste much better! never again!
