Our local ,great atmosphere Holly & her staff are polite & always happy to help ,the bands on a Friday are fabulous alway guarantee a good night . Would strongly recommend their Sunday roast very nice & lots of it , all in all a great family pub which is full of local people who are welcoming to all .

Although I've not tried the food here - they do a good packet of crisps, so 5 stars for that. Good pub, good prices, good atmosphere. Child friendly, dog friendly. Two thumbs up from me

The food was not great service very slow although they were quiet. Cocktails offered on website but they no longer so them. Coffee was not hot.

Lovely Sunday roast dinner with all the trimmings and endless gravey boat

Came here before and after the football at Chatham Town for the first time. Was quite looking forward to trying the food that's had rave reviews after the game as we were starving but were told by a member of the bar staff that they no longer serve food? Didn't see any info telling customers this or why but alas, it is what it is. Will still be returning as its round the corner from Chatham ground and it had a nice atmosphere.

Well what can i say it was a pre family gathering for 26 of us for the Christmas menu..3 courses 24.95 2 courses 21.95… Great price… It was gorgeous food was delicious n hot served promptly always a worry when such a large group… they also catered for the children if they didnt want the set menu… The staff done an amazingly good job every detail covered… Lovely little pub and only up the road which is even better.. Thank u once again for a wonderful evening you made our pre Christmas celebrations a lovely memory Xx

It is a great pub for ua locals and visitors alike. Everyone is made to feel welcome. The staff are always friendly and seem happy to be there. The food is awesome.

I love this pub, it does everything I need from a local. Good beer, good choice of beer, food is excellent but most importantly it harbours a good atmosphere, it feels welcoming. Holly and previously her dad Peter clearly put a lot of effort in the right places. The pub is always clean and tidy, you aren't left waiting for a drink, bar staff are on the ball, beautiful garden that is a real suntrap in the warmer months. Crucially too they support local bands, every Friday there is a band on, free of charge.

Fleeting visit and not one to really judge it by. Everything was fine, hot water needs attention.

Very quite atmosphere and felt relaxed. But the roasts on a Sunday are very average for 17 pounds plus 4 pounds for extras, i had beef roast and the beef was very cheap quality and seemed like it was out of a tin box and not cut of a joint. But service was good and friendly.

Nicely decorated, open, good service, pleasant staff, great food based on BBQ style, high quality. TVs around the room offering sports. Appears to be plenty of room.

Had a table of 16 in the restaurant gor a birthday. All food brought out with name. Service good food very tasty a very good evening thank you 😊

Food was great. Barmaid was really friendly, as was the kitchen staff. Nice and quiet in there so could talk to my friend. Would definitely return.

Best ribs we ever had, meat falls off the bones, amazing flavours and even better customer service. We are already looking forward to coming back.

02/02/23 - forgot to post this Popped in here randomly as I was in the area and had to take my lunch break early! Google Pub! 0.8 miles away.. woo! Walked in and the lady behind the bar was friendly warm and smiley. The pub had about 6 people in but that's expected at this time of day. Ordered a drink sat down and another staff member took my food order- friendly warm and just great!! Paid at table.. I ordered Stove Top Cowboy Beef Chilli- jacket. Music playing to keep me entertained while I wait. FOOD! Dude! This was great.. I wanted to take a photo but I ate it too fast! Hooray to this place- tasted homely and just what I needed. No criticisms here. This is a place I would come to again and will tell people about.. what a find!! Thanks for the perfect service guys!!

Came in for Sunday roast with my little sister and dog. Food was delicious, staff were really friendly, lovely atmosphere, felt very comfortable. Thanks to Vicki aswell. Lovely, jolly and very helpful.

Lunch for 2 with drinks, 25 quid. As good as others describe. Filthy Dawg / Pulled pork bunwich Sriracha skin on fries. Is good beer food. Recommended

Yet again the tastiest food! Buffalo wings better than any restaurant in Rochester high street. For main the buffalo burger and the best fries going.

I didn't expect much from The Huntsman, from the outside it looks like a typical redbrick block like many other if that ilk. What a surprise, inside it is light, it is very nicely decorated, the serving staff were engaged and very pleasant. It has to be said it was a Tuesday evening and quite quiet as might be expected. However it was very nice for all that. It was refreshingly different. I had booked a table there for the 'Que & Brew' restaurant, I'd had their bbq food as a takeaway a couple of times during lock-down and it for regular dinner with a friend. The pub and restaurant side are dealt with separately as separate businesses, so no opportunity to run a tab for drinks and food. Payment for drinks is taken separately from the food. Payment for both was made taken upon receiving the drinks at the bar and upon ordering the food (using a little payment touch pad). All the staff were very pleasant and engaged in what they were doing. My apologies now to our waitress for my feeble attempt at humour. The food was excellent, the simple lettuce wedge started was light, crisp and full of flavour. The bbq'd main courses were clearly prepared fresh and arrived hot and again were full of flavour. There was music of a certain are being piped about, there were a number of large screen TVs offering BT sport (Champions League last night), but none of it was intrusive, It certainly appeared dogs were very welcome. Children were about, I imagine some were the guvnor's. Having grown up in and around our family pub Scotland It all seemed very normal. Finally the place was very, very clean, a tribute to the management and their staff. I highly recommend The Huntsman for drinks and food and for a being a really nice friendly place.

Lovely staff. The food was delightful. We opted for the brisket and wasn’t disappointed. We also had the Katsu burger which my son polished off. It does what it says on the tin and I would happily go back.

Nice welcoming atmosphere, great quiz night on a Sunday and food is very nice. Only downside is parking.

After a little break from Sunday lunches, they're back! And it didn't disappoint. Really rich tasty food, plenty of it, very friendly service from both bar (as always) and restaurant. And the new cocktails are beautiful and excellent value. So lucky to have this pub on our doorstep and can't recommend more highly.

The Huntsman public House in Pattons Lane Rochester is a well run and welcoming establishment. The staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there were no cask ale available on the day of my visit and I was forced to drink John Smith. The food menu was extensive and well presented. The food was served at the table by very polite staff.

Quite possibly the most miserable pub I’ve ever visited, one star is one too many.

The most friendly pub in the area, bar staff are and landlady Holly make you feel so welcome even with all the covid rules that they are bang on, would highly recommended a visit to this little gem

It’s one of the best pubs I been to I love going there on a Friday or on a Thursday for my lunch I get to see all the people I know in the pub and have a wonderful time the food is delicious and I love eating there and I love chatting to candy and all the staff and all that go to the pub and have a laugh I really enjoy going there and chilling with my staff and having my lunch and drinks and pudding I love the atmosphere and I miss when I can’t go because staff can’t get to to me so I miss out but they say where have you been lol when I go back I tell them I can’t get the staff to bring me but they are happy to see me again I love my pub lol Nicola

I have been a regular customer to the huntsman for over 15 years. It's the most friendliest pub I know. I always have a great time when I go in there, whether it be on my own or with friends. I always feel welcome and part of the family. The band's are amazing every Friday and Sunday and very consistent,so you know if you want a good night out,you know a great place to go. The staff are very friendly and provide excellent customer service with a smile and a great sense of humour (that's what makes pubs great to visit) to let your hair down and enjoy your night,instead of having someone miserable serve you (I've experienced this in so many other local pubs). Going onto the food, it's just delicious,cooked from fresh everyday,great value for money , and served in a good timely manner. Would really recommend the huntsman,it's the BEST pub in medway xxx❤❤

Friendly hospitality, great food and atmosphere in this good sized pub. I've been to two private functions here well catered for in a roomy back bar.

Dont like the scottish music andy stewart for starts but me i was happy with staff as they did take photos when asked to help great night should put music for all to to hear in bar as well VERY GOOD

I had the veggie, friends had the meat. My veggie sausages were a tad hard to cut but otherwise smashing for the price. Friendly staff. Would go again.

What can I say. Holly and her team are amazing. The best pub in the entire Medway towns. There are pubs and there are pubs. This is the most inviting and wonderful pub I’ve ever been in. Holly (the landlady) and her team are welcoming and inviting to everyone no matter what walk of life you come from. The world is far more enjoyable after visiting here

We went to see a Ska band on a Friday night. The pub is big but tired looking with a punky looking barmaid who was not the happiest soul in this world. We ordered a Gin & Tonic and a lager. The Tonics are not kept in a fridge so when the sad looking lemon slice came with the two pieces of ice we found the drink to be room temperature. Not the best experience, we sneaked out after one drink promising never to return.

Long established cosy haunt. Good place for chat and reminisce with old friends. Often have real ale festivals. Food is nice and plentiful but a little overpriced compared to others.

Went for a Sunday roast as reviews looked good, must admit you won’t be disappointed I had the lamb shank £9.95 while family had pork,and also turkey both priced £8.95,it came with home made roast potatoes and fresh veg stuffing and gravy,all piping hot,the dessert looked nice but was too full up to try one,very good value very tasty and will definitely return,only down side bar staff was slow serving drinks Tip, best to book as got very busy

Meh. Had a grilled cheese sandwich that was a bit small, sad side salad with no dressing. Took around 35/40 mins to arrive, asked the bar maid if we had been forgotten and got a bit of a poor attitude back telling me there was people in front of us, gave a half hearted apology when she delivered the food. Wouldn't go again.
