Visited this excellent cafe on the 1st April 2025. We travelled up from London for an overnight stay and booked afternoon tea here. The afternoon tea was just £18 a head and was excellent. Unlimited tea or coffee, sandwiches were lovely and fresh, and plenty of them, and the scones were delicious, as were the selection of little. Too much for us to finish, so our server Simon kindly boxed them up for us to take a way. Simon was attentive without being intrusive, the cafe is set within the cathedral so is thoroughly beautiful. If you visit Chester, visit here. You won’t be disappointed

Incredible selection of coffee to drink or buy. You can see the bags of beans and the roaster where they produce a fantastic range of flavours which are unique to their brand. We love visiting but live in Surrey so can buy our coffee on line. Wonderful brunch and cake counter to order from and sit in the restaurant.

My twin brother and I were pub hopping around this part of the city when we decided to drop into The Leopard, our first visit to here and it was really good. The pub itself is superb, light and airy, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings and lots of big screens to enjoy the sport, there's also plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a really good pub to unwind in. We were here on a Sunday night, a bitterly cold February night, pub was busy, we got beers from Carling Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub while we sipped our beers. My beer was really good, a golden, lager style beer, hoppy, bursting with taste and very easy to drink especially when served freezing cold as in this pub, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a delicious beer and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world. We both really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to The Leopard we had a great time. The Leopard is easy to locate along Foregate Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, open from 11am. Friday & Saturday, open from 10am. Sunday, open from 11am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area or planning a trip to Chester.

Visited early evening in a Saturday for our daughter in laws birthday. The staff were extremely accommodating for a party of 10 with a child and infant. George was especially lovely and took care of us through the whole meal. A big thank you to George and the rest of the amazing team.

I had a wonderful time yesterday being served by Jane who was super helpful about allergy information (gluten free options) for my partner. She also was wonderful with my dog who can be nervous but she was so kind and kept complimenting her which caused a very waggy tail

Superb Sunday lunch two adults and two young kids. Meals were fantastic with extra gravy brought on request. Desserts too were delicious. Drinks were great with a lovely real ale blonde beer. Service was fantastic from Archie and Tony not in your face but very attentive. Great friendly pub good atmosphere and nice and warm on a very cold day. Not our first visit and definitely not our last. Our grandchildren loved it.

I had been here to eat about a year ago, which was good, so booked again for the family. Unfortunately the actual restaurant has now closed so we were sat in the bar. I ordered a burger for £15 or so. The quality of the burger was terrible. Based on the entirely uniform disc of meat I was served I assume it was a frozen burger. It was also very grissly. Absolutely not worth £15. The roasts looked ok. Service was poor too. We had to go up to the bar multiple times to prompt. They were nice people, just clearly weren't expecting to serve a sit down meal to anyone as they were both behind a busy bar. I apologised to my family for taking them there as I felt personally responsible for the choice. In summary, absolutely would not go there for food again. Looks like an alright place to have a drink, but don't be fooled by the fact it calls itselt a bar and 'restaurant'.
