A pocos pasos del metro y sin duda vale la pena. Ambiente bullicioso y bastante ocupado, pero nos sirvieron rápidamente y la comida era deliciosa. Recomendaría la salchicha a tope ya que recibe un montón de salchicha!

Lovely place with great coffee and cakes. Nicely appointed on the prom ideal for a pit stop if out walking. Dog friendly and some lovely art on display for sale. Car park at the front also.

Would not let me plug my laptop in to work, because of energy costs they said! How ridiculous, must be only the coffee shop in the world with this policy. That’s one of the primary reasons people go to sit in coffee shops all day spending money. Also, nonsensical too - the cost of charging a laptop for a week non-stop would be about 20p, yet they lost my custom (I was about to order breakfast and a coffee and spend £15+) The lady who working there has an unreasonable ‘computer says no’ mentality’. Totally unwelcoming and the worst coffee shop I’ve ever been in - AVOID!

I got a caramel latte here, I just happened across it when looking for a cafe open late enough for me to work on my computer at. The atmosphere was cozy, and I appreciated how friendly the staff was. I think they may be in the middle of renovations, but it almost feels like it was an intentional design choice. I was here during the later hours, from about 4-6:30, and I was very satisfied with both how nice my latte and hot chocolate were, as well as with how comfy I was just spending time here.

Esperé bien 25 para la comida, mientras que nadie estaba esperando delante de nosotros . . el desayuno era promedio y en £ 39 para el desayuno y dos tés, no el más barato. No podía tener una conversación ya que la música estaba sonando. Lo único que faltaba era un D. J no el chef.

This one is a bit confusing, is it The Golden Lion or is it The Lion House? It was the Golden Lion the last time I was in Allendale and TripAdvisor reviewed this venue in 2021, but anyway, let’s press on with this review, a table for two booked for 1430 for the lady friend, myself and the two dogs in tow. We arrived in good time, we were shown to a nice little table located at the back wall of the main bar near a very warm fire, a lager shandy and Guinness were immediately ordered in. We had a look through the Sunday lunch menu, but soon afterwards the first disaster struck, our first choice of starters, the Harissa lamb was all gone! So I opted for the baked Camembert sharer as second but the second disaster struck as this was also all gone too! So we begrudgingly had to go for the cream of mushroom soup, I wasn’t interested in the chilli prawns. I opted for a three-meats lunch, but disaster struck a third time as it turned out there was no roast chicken left, all the unexpected walk-ins had eaten everything, so I had the beef and pork loin, the good lady having beef. Extras of cauliflower cheese were ordered. Puddings ordered were sticky-toffee pudding and double-chocolate brownie, thankfully I wasn’t too stuffed to eat this! All food arrived within reasonable time and thankfully was better than we’d expected, portions were huge, the soup was good, the meat beautifully seasoned and the puddings satisfyingly sticky and sweet. Service was very attentive and super friendly. The venue itself a good mix of locals and walk-ins creating a lively atmosphere and good ambiance for a Sunday afternoon. Happy to recommend The Lion House but I advise getting there earlier than we did, as random walk-ins might have been in and gobbled everything prior to you getting there!

Mis amigos y yo tuvimos una reunión en The Wolsey esta mañana. Ser celíaco es un poco doloroso, por decir lo menos, pero todo el personal de los servidores a los gerentes eran increíbles. Me sentí en muy buenas manos con su cuidado y atención. A pesar de que probablemente era un dolor 🫣, el personal fue muy servicial al permitirme sentir que podía disfrutar con confianza del brunch más delicioso, a pesar de mis problemas dietéticos que tristemente pueden hacer que comer fuera un gran desafío. Qué equipo tan increíble, muchas gracias de nuevo.

Tenía la hamburguesa 'De Vlaeminck' y era excelente. Una empanada jugosa muy espesa con un sabor encantador. Tenía una porción generosa de pastrami que se cortó en rodajas delgadas tan agradables y ligeras. Las patatas fritas eran muy promedio. No muy crujiente y solo eran tibios. Mi novia estaba más satisfecha por sus patatas fritas cursis que se mantuvieron calientes sobre todo debido al queso. Usaban rodajas de queso de tan poca calidad pero no eran demasiado caras por lo que eran. El personal era muy agradable y el lugar es acogedor, así como claramente popular. Es local para nosotros en un área limitada, así que probablemente a algún lugar vamos de nuevo.

We have been to the Fox & Hounds many times over the last few years and once again we found it to be absolutely fantastic with a great range of lovely food - this was one of the last times that we managed to get away with our boxer dog as she died suddenly in July but we will definitely be back again In May 2024 with hopefully a new boxer puppy. We returned in May 2024 with Ruby our new boxer and as ever the food and beer were fantastic.

1st time since new ownership.No atmosphere anymore don’t sell food which did really well and worst of all they have removed the pool table which brought in good customers and lots of them . Outside front and back beer garden is disscusting cigarette butts on floor pizza boxes in the bins in beer garden planters with butts in. It wasn’t like that before.

I went to Jumping Bean last week in a group of 4 and we ordered the Nachos, Currywurst Hot Dog, Stacked Burger and Texas Burger. All mains were delicious and everything was devoured in no time, even by my sceptical meat-eating friends who were very pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be returning for some more moreish vegan fast food!

☕️🫖🥓🧃🍪🍰🍛🥪🥗🍣🍴🍮My friend and I with our 2 dogs.🐕🐕 are regular visitors to Taste Cafe in Saltburn. We have always been made to feel welcomed when we visit. The staff are all lovely and we always have a bit of banter with them all, whatever their age. Our dogs have never been a problem. In fact, if we go in without them, the staff think its strange! 😂 Weather, you're going in for a cuppa ☕️& cake🧁🍰 [deliciously home made] or something savoury with us coffee you will always have it all freshly prepared. We always have banter with the staff, and a lot of the time, the customers that are on holiday join in, and as they leave, always comment by saying thank you for the warm welcome. I think if places are busy not just taste, things would be late coming to you, sometimes give them a bit of slack I say. So imagine the TV show 'Friends' that's taste . In my opinion, it is the best all-around cafe for Saltburn. 😄👍🏻👍🏻🌞🌞🐾🐾

Lovely little place, good size portions. I needed coeliac safe food and the chef came out and discussed everything that I could have. He was very attentive and had good understanding of the difference between gluten intolerance and coeliac disease. I had the Thai green curry and it was delicious - a bit spicy but still lovely. My husband had the salt and pepper chicken and he enjoyed his too.
