We’ve visited the Chantry Tea Rooms a number of times but not during the pandemic. Our previous visits have always been very pleasant and this time was no different. From the friendly welcome to the excellent service and food, we felt very safe. The staff were really careful to follow a rigorous cleaning routine after each set of diners, and drinks and food were brought on trays for us to avoid any unnecessary handling. The soup and cheese scone is highly recommended, as are the club sandwich and toasties. Everything freshly prepared and no long waits to anything - our visit was perfect.

Stopped off here for lunch whilst visiting Morpeth, and the quality of food is exceptional.I would definitely recommend The Chantry Tea Rooms for lunch (I particularly enjoyed my Toasted Cheese & Ham sandwich), or even just a stop for tea and cake.Great quality at a fair priceAlso visited while social distancing was in force, and everything was really well set out: gel on the way in, table set apart well, and menus under the glass on the table so you didn't have to touch anything.Definitely recommend!

Our usual choice of café in Morpeth was full on a busy and rainy Saturday lunchtime so we found this sweet little tea-room recommended on TripAdvisor. It was every bit as good as we hoped. When we arrived there was one table free and I hesitated by the door as it was a table for 4 and there were only 2 of us. A member of staff immediately came out of the kitchen and gestured to us to sit at the empty table. We found the selection on offer really tempting, my husband chose soup (lentil and vegetable) with a ham roll and I had the day’s special of pâté with a warm baguette, chutney and salad. It was very enjoyable and a generous portion of everything. The speed with which it was brought out was quite surprising given how busy it was. We decided to treat ourselves to a dessert which was brought out almost as quickly. Despite the busy-ness there was no pressure to leave or finish quickly and we felt really welcome and valued customers. We will no doubt go again and definitely recommend to others.

We have visited before in the past and remember the gorgeous home made soup It is a lovely clean and friendly place, the menu is varied, and mum and I made our choice, we both opted for Chicken and Ham pie from the blackboard. We found prices very steep indeed mum opted for a glass of tap water rather than any other of the drinks on offer. The chicken and ham pie was very very tasty, but the portions were on the small side for the price. Warkworth has a small nucleus of great places to eat, and we'd never tried Bertrams, so we went. It was a no brainer given the quality of other reviews. The only downside was that we had to get in and out early so were nearly the first people in hence little "atmosphere" but that was our agenda not the restaurant, and we were there for the food... ... which was first class. Superb hake served with a beautiful herby crab pate and dauphinoise potatoes. The flavours were immense and everything was cooked to perfection. You notice the difference with real quality and top chef standards and this delivered for me. The lemon meringue dessert was the proverbial icing on the metaphorical cake. Superb.

My cousin and I were hugely impressed by Castaways. I had been reluctant to go because about 20 years ago the original café had been taken over by a useless couple. But when I passed and looked in, I could see that its original atmosphere had been recreated by the current management. Our reception was very friendly. The café was full (always a good sign) and we were third in the queue. Our table was soon ready and we were seatedby a waitress. We were very comfortable and the atmosphere was nice. Many pleasant people there as customers happily dining and chatting. Good choice of food and drink. I had the traditional breakfast and my cousin had… I think it was avocado and egg on sourdough bread. We were both very content with our lunch. I will certainly return and bring members of my family to enjoy castaways. Nicely sited, easy car parking and great views over Seaton Sluice and the sea. Get yourself along there and have a treat!
