Slow service, low quality, poor value The service in this cafe is consistently slow. We had to chase our order, as did another table. The food, when it came, was “ok” - eggs nicely done, but over salty bacon and fish-shop quality sausage with gristle in some bites. Coffee was a small cup and was cold by the time our food arrived. One round of toast was burnt but on another breakfast looked lovely. No beans. No mushrooms. One small hash brown. Salt and pepper on the table, and lots of HP sauce and Heinz ketchup bottles around, which is a plus. Orange marmalade addition was perfect too! Likely won’t visit again, though, as two breakfasts and coffees cost around £35.

I urge anyone who is looking to book this venue for their wedding or event considers that the lead up and after care communication is abysmal. We had an event booked here almost 6 weeks ago, on the lead up to the event we sent numerous emails asking for food prices and waited a lengthy time for replies. Once we decided what food to choose, we then emailed it in writing, then asked for confirmation again without response to the final email asking for confirmation. We requested to meet with someone face to face at PTMY Morpeth to discuss all the details and confirm our choices, we were refused this as “nobody was based there”. I found this response quite shocking considering the amount of money an event and food costs here. On the evening of our event the WRONG food was served, not only was it not what we had ordered it was served freezing cold, not in chafing dishes like you would expect of this kind of establishment. I spoke to the manager and staff on the evening, and they advised there was nothing they could do but if I sent an email following the event I would be compensated with the money refunded, the staff advised they would let management know the email would be coming in. I had my guests coming up to me all night complaining about how the food was unacceptable and freezing cold. After sending several emails with no response and 4 visits to PTMY Morpeth, and phone calls being advised someone would call me back again with no follow up, being back and forth to different people, I was advised someone would contact me. we have only had one email after almost 6 weeks one email with no resolution on. If it had been facilitated when we had requested to come in person or for even a 5-minute call to go over details this mistake I believe wouldn’t have happened. I feel once the company receive all payments they no longer care and afterwards are ignoring this hoping we won’t continue to pursue so they don’t have to honour the refund that was promised to us.

Very disappointing new restaurant when the old one was so good. I ordered salmon fish cake with poached egg and creamed spinach and fries. Fries were lukewarm warm to tepid and I left most of them. Poached egg was hard and cold and I doubt the creamed spinach had seen any cream as the sauce tasted of flour and nothing else. Very little seasoning on/in anything. Coffee was ok and service not too bad.

Another lovely Christmas lunch was enjoyed here. I never ever thought I’d eat out on Christmas Day, however this was our second Christmas lunch here and it was again, very enjoyable. The service was seamless, professional and friendly. The food itself was beautifully cooked and presented. We all had a lovely lunch and enjoyed drinks afterwards. On a private note- Harry- Bread Sauce! 😉😉

We dashed in here to avoid the rain and ended up staying for lunch as the food looked so tasty. The pub is warm and cosy, a real traditional boozer with cheery staff. We ordered a hot beef sandwich which came with unreal home cooked chips and also a couple of dishes from the starter and side menu. Anytime I see Mac and cheese it’s a must have and the Fleece didn’t disappoint with their tasty offering. There was sports on the TV and the bar was well stocked. They had adverts all around about the live music and quiz nights, so it’s definitely a place that would keep you entertained. We had a lovely Saturday afternoon here.

No toilet papers on the two mens toilet cubicles, my wife said the ladies had three cubicles, but only one with roll of paper left on top.

Tripadviser rejected my first review, fair enough, I wrote it on the night I visited this pub and they have clearly complained about the review, but emotions run high when the quality of what you have been served is so appalling. When beer tastes like vinegar and you have to leave it, and simply leave the premises because to have complained would have attracted so much attention from the locals, says a lot about the atmosphere. What a trully dreadful experience this was. I have never been served such an awful pint of Wainwright, honestly it was so bad. Speaking to other landlords in Wooler, this isnt an issolated comment.. Perhaps if you are touring, or there shooting as I was, The Anchor, is more suited if you aren't a local, local....(if you get my drift)

Its a while since we've been, won't hurry back. Went for breakfast, no egg on menu, no choice of white or brown bap, tea was bag in cup no pot, took so long to arrive our drinks were gone.

Bastante caro y la comida no era tan buena. La habitación era fría y el personal parecía triste. Se me ocurren cafés mucho más alegres, baratos y cercanos.
