To all those saying reasonably priced, I think not. £9.50 for a rock hard jacket potato with cheese and beans… A breakfast wrap, jacket potato and a slice of toast cost £22+ Not worth it and most definitely will not be returning

£9 for a sausage, egg, bacon, hashbrown wrap, nice but not worth the price. £9.50 for a cheese and bean jacket potato, really hard and not nice, no where near worth the price and £1.50 for toast which was cold, overall definitely not worth it, will not be returning and wouldn’t recommend to anyone else.

Food is delicious. I am glad to see this cafe after a long journey from Inverness. Some people moaned about the toilet facilities but I find it clean and good enough. I am sure travellers who are non-patrons use their toilet facility as well but there are no signs to say it's only meant for cafe patrons only. I note that along the jouney from Scotland, there aren't any "Services" which are available as in England where a traveller can take a toilet-break or have a fastfood meal. So, just be thankful there's a place like Cafe One where you can have a break and enjoy a lovely hot meal, a hot drink, at reasonable prices.

We stopped here about 7 hours in to our drive and were looking forward to lunch. There is a decent sized car park and it is next to a petrol station too. The menu has a good range of options and service was friendly. Unfortunately we arrived just after a coach party so we had a bit of a wait for our food but it was a good sized portion when it did arrive and well cooked. Good value too.

This is high on the list off stop overs fro the long distance drivers, as good food 24 hours and showers are available for those wanting them too. onsite petrol station and charging points if you have the money to drive a tesla, everyone else who doesn't loads of points for charging in Alnwick. (Tesla refuse to share yet use everyone elses' as well as their own) Really good breakfasts.

Having just spent 2 weeks in Scotland I popped in this services for a quick bite. Really wish I'd kept driving . Maybe I'd been spoilt by the Scottish customer service but the younger staff in here either need some serious training or need to stay in the kitchen. The girl with long fingernails and a cant be bothered attitude and the lad who just wanted to take my money . I handed him an untoasted toastie from the cooler and he just looked at it . I said can you toast it ? Yeah.... was the reply then he walked off. Should I wait ? Should I sit down ? Heaven knows. Clearer instructions please Better customer service A manicure And a positive mental attitude The food? Not great but could be excused if a pleasurable experience was had

Ordered 2 adult meals and four children's meals. 3 of the children asked for pizza, they got tomato and cheese on half a bagel. None of them ate it. I had a breakfast burger and left the beef which was not nice at all. My pasta loving child left the pasta as she said it tastes horrible and my husband is pulling faces so he isn't happy either. I definitely would not eat here again!

Ladies toilets were poor. No toilet roll, a broken tap etc. Service was also poor - no real waiting area even though we were taking our food away, hot drinks did not come in any sleeve which made these extremely difficult to carry when they are boiling hot! Food was also a long wait and staff did not seem to know what they were serving (seemed confused when we asked for a bacon roll... despite it being named exactly this on their menu!!)

Thought this looked a nice stop on way to Edinburgh.....only two people before us to be served but it took forever....we were all losing patience very fast. Young lady serving has obviously had no customer care training. No acknowledgement at all not even eye contact....took her soooooo long to make even one cup of coffee. At last it was out turn. One coffee, one tea and two toasts with jam. After 15 minutes our drinks were cold and toast came out without jam!!! I told the lady that it had taken so long our drinks were cold and she just ignored me. A number of tables were full of dirty crockery all the time we were in with no attempt to tidy them. As I said you will need a lot of patience....it’s a nice little cafe....just no staff training whatsoever. On a different note my husband mentioned that the gents needed attention too....not very nice. Just cannot understand why management do little or nothing to ensure customer satisfaction.

Well, I might just have to book myself into one of the rooms here to sleep off the marvellous breakfast I’ve just had. This is certainly not the usual roadside cafe breakfast. Sausages, bacon, black pudding (all sourced locally and top notch), fried eggs, fried bread, beans, mushroom and toast. All of it well worth the £9.99 and down to the quality of the produce. It was very busy when I visited yet the service was great and provided with a smile. I’ll certainly be back and wholly recommend it. Well worth seeking out if you’re nearby. P.S. seems to be turning out to be a bit of a celebrity haunt too. 😉

Bit tired and about the halfway stage in my drive down the A1, we decided to stop for a break. Headed into the cafe which is laid out with cubicles giving it a nice intimate feel rather than the ‘open plan’ mass market canteens of the majority of service areas. Settling for coffees and a selection of cakes/biscuits, we did think prices were a bit on the high side. To be fair, the large cup of coffee was lovely, the cakes very tasty and again pretty large so it is a case of you get what you pay for so no real complaints. Certainly will be back to try some of the main meals on offer.

Stopped here for something to eat, it was quite busy and any tables that were free had piles of dishes on them table was dirty as was the floor, staff bringing out food just walked past all the dirty dishes leaving them instead of taking them back with them, another customer said to me that I would be quicker adding the dirty dishes from the table we sat at to the other table that was already piled up which was a table that could have seated at least 6 people, that was not the only table piled with dirty dishes either, I couldn't help but think if this was the state of the dinning area what was the kitchen like.

The worst place I've been to for years. I ordered hot dog and chips, and tea, cost over £8. The hot dog was two tinned frankfurters between a dry bun cut in half. Ridiculously overcooked chips, leaving the eyes in the potatoes for good measure. They also managed to screw up the tea, dumping a t-bag in a pot which could only hold one cup of water, which made the tea too strong for a normal human being to drink. A disgrace. It needs a special star-rating ... minus 5 should do it.
