Stopped for a coffee and cake whilst shopping in Morpeth. Lovely coffee and a brilliant selection of cakes. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great! Clean toilets and all the other food looked amazing. Will definitely be coming back here for the full English 😋🤩

Visited today for lunch. Food was delicious and service was excellent. There were a couple of issues with food being delayed and some things missing but this was more than made up for by the quality of the food and the excellent customer service we received when we queried the delay. We’ll certainly give it another go next time we’re in Morpeth.

The food took 50 minutes to come. The excuse this time being ‘we didn’t expect it to be so busy.’ You’d think on a Saturday morning they would expect such a rush. Even so, this has also been the case during my previous 2 visits. When the food did come the pancakes were pretty measly, very anaemic looking and what was meant to be ‘crispy bacon’ was just dry and tough, with only the tiniest drizzle of maple syrup to help get it down. And the ‘pork stotties’ were just plain buns with plain pork and apple sauce from a jar. Just a big disappointment. And id like to say this was a one off, but after giving it three attempts, as the venue itself is so lovely (deserving of a star), I will not be going back. Unable to get photos of the food, apologies, as when it came we were all so ravenous.

Beautiful place to have food. We found a table quick and easy. Ordered food easy too but only thing was that we could only order from the menu and not the boards above the serving place. The food was delicious, tad over priced at £12 for chips, side salad and toasted sandwich but never less it tasted very nice. The facilities were clean but not stocked with toilet roll and the hand dryer didn't work in the ladies. The cakes in the display cabinets looked delicious but we were too full. Overall very nice place to go.

This place is lovely and usually I’d give it 5* but today was horrendous! Not because of food or service but by the young lad making the teas & coffees who kept talking in an annoying, idiotic, high baby voice trying to make the rest of the staff laugh. I get that they have banter and a joke with each other but this went on the whole time we were there for breakfast - think I’ll leave it a while before we’re back, in the hope he’s moved on somewhere else or he’s grown up!

We called in here multiple times whilst staying in Morpeth. The first experience we had was with the Emily’s tea room which is off to the left side as you enter. It is a small area which has been nicely appointed and appeared to be clean and well kept. I placed an order at the bar and the staff, albeit all young, were professional and polite. The cold drinks were kept in the fridge beside the till which I collected and the food was delivered to the table. I had an open club sandwich which was tasty, nothing outstanding, the crust on the bread was incredibly tough my knife struggled to cut through it. There was a sausage roll and some fries. Overall an average experience, I doubt I would go back to the tea room. We went back in to the bar area later that day and a night following, the bar area is tucked away to the right and down some steps when you go in the front. I should say that when you walk through the front door it’s very confusing as to where to go, there’s a small sign on a table in front of you pointing where to go for reservations, for some that may be confusing and they’d walk back out and go elsewhere. The bar area is lovely, trendy in style with a part-industrial style which is what we like. The lad behind the bar was polite & efficient, preparing the drinks quickly, though I did notice he picked the fruit garnish for the drinks with his fingers and not tongs. The bar area is pleasant for sitting and relaxing, plenty of tables with a mixture of sofas, booths and tall tables with stools. I don’t believe they serve food every night however there did seem to be a menu out for Burns Night. I did overhear multiple people asking for coffees at the bar, which they were told no as the cafe had closed, two of them then walking back out, seems a little strange that a coffee could not be served, especially with a coffee machine being on the premises, that’s just a missed income opportunity. I (possibly) would return to the bar in PTMY.

My family and I bought 6 tickets, in one order, at a cost of £180 and were very much looking forward to the event. Unfortunately, due to external circumstances, we arrived an hour after the opening time. On arrival, we were told by the manager Kirk, that there wasn’t a table available for us, as was on the basis of "first come, first served" as directed by Head Office. Which is not acceptable for a pre-booked event, as they would have known the number of parties/guests in advance. Kirk, also ensured us that the buffet was being constantly replenished throughout the evening. 40 minutes later, we were eventually shown to table, in the room where the buffet was laid out, i.e. not in the room where the “band” and DJ would be playing, which was overtaken by the lengthy queue for the buffet. By the time we were able to get some food, we were left very disappointed as the majority of the advertised lengthy buffet options were not avaliable, with just with some pork pies, Scotch eggs, sausage rolls, battered prawns, cake and cold, hard fries, (and some vegetarian bits that no-one wanted to eat). When I asked Kirk about topping up the buffet, he came back with a few bits of the charcuterie and said everything else, including the sliders had gone, although I had just watched him deliver a large tray of sliders to another table. Without the advertised/promised buffet and not being able to enjoy the music, we saw absolutely no point in staying and left the venue, extremely disappointed and a complete waste of money. The following day, one of the family, who has a shellfish allergy, fell ill, presumably due to cross contamination from the prawns/shellfish to other food. Since the Event, we sent a written complaint to Pleased to Meet You about our poor experience with no acknowledgment.

Don't really know where to start, walked in packed to the rafters thought madonna was in there, it was that busy found a table just as someone was leaving and also bumped into an old friend by chance, order placed at 13:25. latte arrived half an hour later. This is not an overestimation it was literally half an hour for a latte. Queue was 10.bodies deep clogging up the door so on the off chance of someone shouting fire its is a forcasted stampede. Steak pie and fries served on a tea plate with a steak pie in a tin and no fries? Waiter brought back a larger tea plate with chips not fries and half a jug of gravy lifted the pie of the tea plate took the tea plate away and moved the pie onto the larger plate i just could not comprehend what was going on. Never asked how my meal was, no glass and ice served with my cold drink planning and service were abysmal but the food unreal cannot complain on taste because it was absolutely gorgeous. Yes i do understand they were busy but they are not in there first stages of trading they should have a forcast of sales and staff balance measure for a saturday afternoon cannot have the same staffing levels of a monday morning and a saturday lunchtime, all bodies working the floor were not over the age of 21 no visible person of power 6 bodies behind the counter yet half an hour for a machine made hot drink. I do intend on going back in a quieter period and hope it was just a one off.

Christmas Eve -Waited a good while to order, even with our menus down and staff setting tables around us. -Starter of the game scotch egg was horrible. The meat tasted sour and was soaking wet; lots of liquid. Couldn't eat it, and I'll eat just about anything. -Piece of cling film was in my main, I'm assuming from prep. -Noticed a staff member drop a scone on the floor from an afternoon tea tray. She picked it off the floor and put it back on the afternoon tea tray and continued to serve it.

We booked a Christmas meal at PTMY Morpeth. The waitress was very prompt at taking our drinks order and starter. However the drinks were slow at arriving and we waited at least 30 minutes for our starter to arrive . It was a Thursday evening and only 2 tables ordering food so it definitely wasn’t busy. After the first course we waited around 45 minutes for the second course to arrive , we asked the waitress how long our food would be as it was getting late to eat . It eventually arrived, the wait for dessert wasn’t as long as the first 2 courses . The food was fantastic but the wait for food was shocking for a quiet Thursday evening. Wouldn’t go back or recommend even though the food was delicious. We did let the person in charge know when he asked about our meal and we had to get our deposit removed from the bill as it had been overlooked. 😕

Decided to try this place for lunch in Morpeth, as we liked the look of it from the outside. As we walked in it looked very busy and we struggled to find a table, which we thought can only be a good sign. We found a table ands browsed the menu. There was various sandwiches, cakes, and light bites on offer. My partner had a bacon Stottie, and my little girl and myself had pancakes topped with fruit and maple syrup. The portion sizes were very generous and great value for money The interior is very modern, and everywhere is clean. Staff are friendly and we would return if visiting

Dreadful experience - vegans beware - but also I suspect this just shows the overall ‘care’ for customers We have just been for an afternoon tea. Although we didn’t make a big thing of it it was for our 50th Anniversary. Booked several days ago, one standard tea and one vegan. When they were served I started to feel there was something not right. The vegan platter looked significantly less than the ordinary one. I questioned the server who said - (I paraphrase) the vegan materials are individually produced whereas the rest are made in bulk so there will be less vegan food. I sort of accepted the ‘logic’ of this but pointed out that nowhere is this said and the price is the same. Server went away. As I am eating I notice the menu on the table, so I cross check and discover one savoury, two cakes and the vegan cream for the scone are not there…… I complain. Server says he will have a word in the kitchen. After a while comes back, sorry, chef has been made aware of the error. We are offered another coffee and something from the bakery to take home. Utterly dreadful response, awful customer service, off hand and just wanted to move on. Will not be back.

Chilled out bar with a good atmosphere. Me and a friend were celebrating birthday and had tasty cocktails. 2-4-1 before 9pm. Was served by friendly barman. Went back to bar to take advantage of the 2-4-1 deal. The bar clock read 8:55pm. Was ignored at bar and was finally served by another barman who informed me I was too late for the 2-4-1 deal. Pointed out time on clock and was told the time had always been wrong. Went back to my seat but realised it was in time (according to my iPhone) so returned to bar but by time showed same barman it was 9:01 and, according to him, he could no longer put the deal through on the till. As a first time customer and a previous bar manager I think this was a bit of an a**hole thing to do which will make me think twice about returning and spending my money. That aside it’s a rather pleasant bar to hang out in, would have stayed longer and spent more money; just a shame about the one member of staff!!

With the current management this place will collapse. The name Pleased to Meet You is certainly not reflective of the management. I frequented (past tense) this bar/coffee shop regularly. It was 10:30 and whilst ordering coffee, I asked if the music could be turned down. I was told it was a bar and no. I asked for confirmation as I was taken back, so I asked are you saying no you won’t to which the reply was no. I discovered this was in fact the manager who in other words said that if you don’t like the loud music go somewhere else. I wonder if the owners know how their management team maintain good will. The pub trade is in a delicate state and attitudes like this will make people go elsewhere. Good luck with the future. You are going to need it.

Bitterly, bitterly disappointed, booked a table 4 weeks ago for today (Sun 18th August) @1530pm because we had family coming up from Norwich, Norfolk and we suggested we go to PTMY for a Sunday roast.. Got there before hand, got a table, took a while to get the menus, finally had a look and went to order.. Time was 1545 when we went to the bar to order.. Only to be told there's no more roast dinners being done, not even the pie that was on the menu.. Only options where fish & chips, burger or anything from the Brunch menu, yep the BRUNCH menu on a Sunday afternoon. .. Seriously? So we went for the roast dinners but got offered a full English breakfast if we wanted that of the brunch menu!! Absolute joke.. The Sunday menu says between 12 noon & 4pm, so why wasn't there none available at 15.45?.. We all went for the burger.. When it arrived, we asked for some condiments, 5 minutes later nothing had still arrived, so my wife went and got some.. The service was fairly poor, even when we got coffees afterwards, no sugar or anything.. I've been in there a few times now for coffee or a drink, but never food.. And It'll be very unlikely I will again, for such a lovely place, decorated great, looks fantastic.. The service and lack of food was really, really poor.. Thing is, it makes me not want to go back now for anything..

Went for breakfast during the week on a work day. Wasn’t that busy, ordered and waited 45 minute for food. When it arrived it was cold. Not only that, but we had to wait a while for sauces and after the third time of asking we finally got cutlery. It’s not cheap, so the service needs to be better! When we got back home, we realised that when they said the payment hadn’t gone through , it had! We rang them several times, each time being promised a call back from a manager. Which never happened. Sent an email, 6 days later still no reply so we’re doing a chargeback for the duplicate payment, no doubt will be a long wait for that. Absolutely disgusting service from them!!

We booked in advance for afternoon tea on a Sunday and wouldn’t recommend it at all. We received our drinks very promptly but waited 1 hour 15 minutes for the afternoon tea to arrive. The service has been slow on previous visits to the restaurant but never this poor. The couple next to us also seemingly waited a long time for their afternoon tea. We were however offered a complimentary drink because of this. Some of the food was tasty, as are other meals I’ve had here, but it seems as though we were given left overs from what remained in the kitchen e.g., missing sandwiches, no butter for the cheese scone, majorly disproportionate sausage rolls, dry scones and bread. The whole thing was bizarre and difficult to share, especially with singular desserts. We later asked for the bill, multiple times, despite staff standing around at the bar. Upon receiving the bill, we were informed that the cost of the afternoon tea had risen by £20 since I bought the voucher in December, and therefore I was asked to pay the difference. This was resolved and honoured by a manager after a discussion, but I would’ve otherwise been expected to pay the difference due it “being updated on the website with the new price”, which I find appalling. I informed the server when we sat down that I had a gift voucher, but the price increase never came to light until the bill arrived. I am extremely disappointed in the whole experience given this was a gift for my grandma. It is certainly not worth £64, never mind the price I originally paid. This is even worse when accompanied by the poor service and food quality. There are much nicer afternoon teas out there for less.

Chain bar, slapped right in the centre of Morpeth in a building that was shut for years. Happy hour cocktails decent and reasonable. Seems to be trying to be some sort of late night bar, DJ on at weekends, but seems out of place these days in Morpeth. Having doormen on at 6 o'clock when the bar is empty is off putting also. Music generally poor, although I did once hear "White Lines" by Grandmaster Flash in here. Probably an error on the part of the DJ.

Went today for lunch and we sat at the far table in the window, it was extremely drafty and very cold, the lunch was delicious that is why I gave the food a 5☆. Sadly the marble table was so cold the dinner went cold very quickly which was a shame, they need to put table mats down to help keep the dinner warmer, just a helpful suggestion, next time I go back I will take my own mat. The reason I gave 4☆ for service was I purchased a cream scone on leaving, only for the scone to be squashed in a thin box (which I'm sure I was charged for) and for the cream splurt out the scone, that was a shame as the staff seemed unconcerned, they only wanted to move onto the next customer. Sadly the only atmosphere was made by a family complaining to the manager about everything, there food was late there tea had gone cold, I'm vegetarian and there's ham in my quiche, I mean for goodness sake could anything else go wrong for them. Still we enjoyed our lunch.

What a shame that Pleased to Meet You have such poor service. The food when it eventually arrives is good, but the 45-minute wait for coffee and a scone is ridiculous. This has happened on several occasions. Often, the coffee arrives 20 minutes after the scone. I really like the decor, the atmosphere, it's also a dog friendly pub, but the wait for your order is too long. Please, please get it sorted.

I haven't eaten here yet, on my last visit the restaurant side was being refurbished. The bar is superb though. Its a stunning building. We'll priced, safe and relaxed atmosphere and great service. My go to when visiting Morpeth.

Great looking place but the service was disgraceful. Ordered a coffee and 25 minutes later I was asking the staff where it was. Nowhere near being made so cancelled and left. The guy behind me had been waiting 35 minutes! The place was nowhere near capacity.

Jake and a beautiful woman at the bar on Friday 25th in may were so helpful!!! experienced homophobia at the bar and had a vodka drink thrown at me for rejecting a man whilst with my girlfriend. Felt so uncomfortable and ignored by management until Jake and woman (i wish i new her name) reassured me and my girlfriend into feeling okay. Manager stopped us from being served due to self defence, but still feel so disappointed. Ive always felt safe with my girlfriend, but after tonight i feel very unsafe and wont be returning.

We called in on a Saturday afternoon having been tempted in by some of the food in the window. The seating area by Emily’s was completely full and, for some reason, boiling hot. My partner waited to order as I went further back down a few steps and into a larger area which had seats available. Almost immediately after I sat down, a member of staff came up to me and told me I was “not allowed to sit in the restaurant”, like I was some sort of criminal. I went back to the busy area and my partner was still being ignored at the counter despite there being no queue, so we promptly left. We instead went somewhere we were ‘allowed’ to sit in! I’ve no idea why places like this exist.

Every single time we come in the tables need clearing and sometimes the staff just walk by a cluttered table and not clear it…

Very popular with the locals, the decor is not to my taste, looks like a warehouse bare brick ventilation pipes hanging from the ceiling I asked when the accommodation, going to open ,couldn't be given a date or estimate was thinking of having a forces reunion but needed accommodation

We had a lovely late breakfast today. It was our first time there and it was amazing. The food was delicious, we felt the prices were great and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely recommend this place for a wonderful breakfast -the only criticism I could give is that it was rather cold inside today and our food cooled quickly.

Very nice bar with decent music, a large variety of cocktails 🍸 but is probably the most expensive place to drink in Morpeth and stays open quiet late

DELICIOUS SUNDAY LUNCH FRIENDLY HELPFUL SERVICE My friend and I visited today. We both had the small portion of Roast Beef which we found more than adequate. Two slices of beef, delicious mash, selection of veg, roasted potato, parsnip and a huge Yorkshire pudding. Small lunch £7.50. Dessert £4.50 Half Shandy £1.90

This place was so busy, such a popular place. Lovely man who served us, very friendly and caring. We got 2 hot chocolates which looked amazing and lovely cream, however we both thought it tasted like horlicks or ovaltine, bit of a strange taste - didn't taste like chocolate at all

Went to Yolo for breakfast this christmas eve first time eating at the venue. Had high hopes as staff friendly and interior very inviting but wow was the cooked breakfast a let down had the full english and where do i start. Toast burnt Eggs with no runny middle Bacon looked uncooked Sausage looked and tasted like cheapest frozen sausage they could find Smallest portion of beans ive ever recieved on a breakfast And black pudding on par with sausage cheap skinny slice no taste. And had the pleasure of paying a small fortune for what was probably the worst cooked breakfast ive recieved anywhere. Will be my first and last visit for food at Yolo unless they make huge improvements.
